Julia was our teacher and we can't say enough kind words about her talent and dedication. A first dance was something my now-husband and I went back and forth on, almost opting to forgo it when we were wedding planning. Having Julia travel to us and remain incredibly patient with us, two people with no dancing experience, eased every one of our anxieties about the dance.
The day of our wedding we were able to execute the dance almost flawlessly (including the two lifts)! I say almost, because as soon as we started, we realized we were dancing over a golf-ball sized rock that somehow ended up on the dance floor. Despite this, nobody we have told said they noticed any of our missteps! It's now a funny memory we have about the day. Julia can teach you to dance with rocks under your feet, that's how good she is! We can't recommend her enough!!

so my favorite part of the entire night. While my husband has dance and theater experience from his high school days, I have no dance experience what so ever. Christen was able to put together a dance that only was I able to learn, but also master, within two months.
The one thing I will mention is that if couples are not motivated to practice frequently on their own, unless you have lots of dance experience, you may not find this business suitable for you. We purchased the basic package which includes two 1.5 hour lessons, and I was able to learn the basic steps of the dance in that time with Christen. The steps were easy enough for me to practice on my own, but complex enough that it wowed our guests! So if you are motivated, and want an unforgettable experience and dance, In Home Wedding Dance Lessons will not disappoint!

She put together a choreographed dance for us that was fun to learn and had just the right balance of easy to remember steps mixed with fun lifts and spins that made our guests go nuts. We learned everything we needed to know over the course of two lessons, which occurred in the comfort of our own home, and then the rest of the practicing was up to us.
