I am so glad I went forward with The Barn at Indian Ridge as my wedding venue! The owner Ricky and wedding coordinators Amber & Kayla truly helped make this day magical! Their response time is quick and efficient. It's very clear they have done a lot of wedding because the whole process was seamless and not stressful.
The ceremony is right by a lake and is extremely picturesque, the cocktail hour is in the fields, and the reception is inside their beautiful modern/rustic Barn that is lit perfectly! I highly recommend having your wedding here!
Indian Ridge was the first venue we toured in person, and we knew right away we wanted to get married there. The property was beautiful, and it exceeded our expectations. The first day we met Amber and Ricky we knew we were in good hands for our wedding. We decided to hire Amber as our full-time coordinator and that was the best decision we could have made. Amber had the day mapped out for us, coordinated with all our vendors and was super responsive at all times of the day. We met with Amber regularly everything few months to go over the day and she was super on point with her planning and did an amazing job coming up with suggestions and ideas for the wedding. When it came time for the wedding Amber was right by our side for everything keeping the day moving and to our schedule we discussed. Amber super professional and put out any fires that could have happened. We had an issue with our DJ and Amber took charge and fixed the issue for us, so we did not have to deal with it. Amber you’re amazing at what you do, and Robin and I Can’t thank you enough for your support, dedication and professionalism. Post Wedding we have been getting feedback from our guests saying that Indian Ridge was the best venue they have ever been to and how beautiful it was. We also had a family member say they want their daughter to get married there. The Venue has a lot of activities for the guests such as outdoor games, post dinner bonfire and lots of seating to take in the beautiful night. The Property had 2 Airbnbs and it was perfect for the wedding parties to get ready in and have a few drinks post wedding. Ricky and Amber thank you so much again! You truly made our wedding everything we wanted it to be!
We really wanted a venue that was naturally beautiful and we wouldn't have to supplement decorations much and Indian. Ridge truly delivered. Our guests are still talking about how nice the venue is. Amber was an excellent coordinator over the year we spent planning, Ricky had us covered on anything and everything we needed all day, and Kayla did an excellent job as our day-of coordinator for our wedding. Everything went off without a hitch and the Indian Ridge team really knew how to handle everything that came there way and made so many recommendations that made our day better / run smoother. So glad we had our wedding here!
Any questions?
From the very first interaction with Ricky and Amber, we had nothing shy of an incredible experience throughout our entire wedding planning process. Indian Ridge is a beautiful venue that Ricky and his team continue to update and make it even more beautiful as the time goes on. The grounds are well maintained, and the amount of love and effort they put into this property is extremely evident. Ricky and Amber were a pleasure to work with- they were always willing to answer any of our last minute questions, whether they were big or small. We are so grateful we found Indian Ridge! Our wedding day was perfect, and was by far the best day of our lives. All of our guests continue to compliment us on the awesome experience they had at our wedding in October 2023- from the bar making excellent drinks, the coziness and elegance of the barn allowing us the romantic feel we were attempting to achieve, beautiful locations throughout the property to take photos and videos that we will continue to look back at for a lifetime, lawn games, fire pit, and all of the other vendors we hired to make this day as perfect as it was. We already want to host another large scale party at Indian Ridge- we cannot recommend Indian Ridge enough!
Indian Ridge was the first venue we toured in person and we knew right away it was the one we wanted for our wedding. The property and landscape are amazing, but the barn was what really sold us - it is beautiful! From the very first day we met Ricky & Amber, they were friendly, informative, and made us excited to plan our wedding at this location. This team is truly amazing! They were incredibly accommodating and always quick to respond to our questions & ideas.
It ended up raining the day of our wedding but even with the last minute rain plan, Ricky & team were quick & efficient, always checking in to make sure we were happy with the new set-up. Major props to Ricky for being "on-call" all day making sure everything was running smoothly. He was super attentive and had us feeling at ease throughout the day! Venue coordinator, Amber, was also amazing to work with! She answered all of our questions quickly and in great detail and was a huge help with suggestions as we were putting together our floor plan.
Considering we ended up having to make many 'day of' decisions due to the rain, we feel very lucky that we had Ricky & Amber by our side! Thank You so much guys!! You were a big part of making this day as perfect as it was for us!
We are so happy we chose Indian Ridge as our wedding venue! It was absolutely beautiful. We still cannot get over how perfect it was. The setting is naturally picturesque (we also had amazing weather)- the rustic and spacious barn to the gorgeous lake to the romantic waterfall where we did our first look- all breathtaking! All of our guests were in awe of the beautiful scenery. Ricky and Amber were amazing throughout the process. We planned our wedding in 6 months and they provided a lot of help and guidance. We did pay for the extra coordination package and it was well worth it. We truly had the perfect wedding thanks to Indian Ridge! Highly recommend
The Barn at Indian Ridge is a HIDDEN GEM - a beautiful Hudson Valley venue with an AMAZING staff. The owner, Ricky, and his staff make for a magical setting. Indian Ridge is truly close to my heart now.
Ricky will go ABOVE and BEYOND to make his clients happy and ensure they have a great event. I was pleasantly surprised MANY times to see the extraordinary efforts of the staff delivering on my vision of the day - no detail left unnoticed. Ricky was always just a phone call away throughout the entire planning process for ANYTHING I needed, and literally I mean anything. He is willing to help with any need you can think of, from floral arrangements to fixing cars (there’s a good story behind it), but just to make the point - he is extremely HELPFUL and ACCOMMODATING. Another plus, the barn is always making improvements, nothing is out dated, everything is in great condition and always well maintained. Even my guests couldn’t stop telling me how beautiful this place is and how great Ricky is. To hear others tell me, I knew this place was a winner. The only thing I could ask for is to have another event to plan, I’m going to miss Indian Ridge, I hope to cross paths again in the future!
6-stars(that’s Dubai standards) hands down! Ricky won vendor of the year, in my book!
We knew that this was the venue for our wedding even though it was the first one we toured. Ricky was incredibly accommodating from that very first day, making us feel comfortable and excited for the planning process.
Ricky and Amber were always a phone call or text away when we had any questions or concerns. Even with rain all morning, once it stopped, the field was dry and ready within hours which is not something many outdoor ceremony sites can boast.
We did not have to worry about any of the little details as Amber, Alyssa, and Ricky handled everything. We cannot thank them enough for helping make our wedding day nothing short of amazing!
We had our wedding at this gorgeous property in early October 2022. Everything from start to finish was easy, organized, and exceptionally beautiful. We wanted an outdoor wedding with flexibility for indoor space, gorgeous private grounds, and a great Hudson Valley location. Owner Ricky and venue coordinator Amber totally delivered - the venue was a great value for the area and you don’t compromise on any details. Plus, Amber was one of the most responsive and organized people we worked with throughout the whole wedding planning process. Thank you Indian Ridge!
Indian Ridge is the most amazing wedding venue! Living in Colorado and planning a wedding in NY is not the easiest task. But, the first time I saw Indian Ridge I knew it was the venue for us! The barn was absolutely stunning, even in the middle of December. It is truly a hidden gem. Once we decided to move forward with Indian Ridge, it was seamless from there! Ricky and his team are extremely passionate about the barn and property. We visited NY again, after a year of booking with Indian Ridge, and the barn looked more amazing than it did the first time we saw it. They stained the barn, had the most amazing wood bar built, and upgraded a few other things! We only used the property for our reception but it far exceeded our expectations. It was absolutely stunning from the cocktail hour outside, to the reception inside, I would not have changed a thing about it! You are able to create your own vision with this perfect canvas, but the barn itself is perfection! Also, we used Amber as our day of coordinator and she is AMAZING!! Being from Colorado, we only met on the phone and then met the day before our wedding. We told he our vision for the barn and she exceeded our expectations beyond belief. The day moved extremely smooth because of her. She was available at any moment during the day if we wanted to change something or had questions. Ricky was also a huge part of our day. He made sure that everything was perfect and running smoothly. He provided us and our photogrpaher/videographer with rides to wherever we needed to take photos. Ricky runs an amazing establishment! We could not be happier with our choice of Indian Ridge for our wedding venue. Everyone at our wedding was amazed with the venue and cannot wait to tell others that are getting married to get married there! Indian Ridge is absolutley amazing!
We booked Indian Ridge for our wedding venue in large part due to the great reviews it received online, and we had such an amazing time that we want to share it with future guests! Our overall experience with the venue was wonderful from start to finish. To start with the space itself: as many people have said, Indian Ridge is breath-takingly gorgeous. We visited close to a dozen farms that advertised a similar venue, but when we went to Indian Ridge, we both had the “wow” moment as it was by far the largest, most beautiful, and incredibly diverse landscape we had visited. The grounds are huge, and there are so many unique spots which make for amazing photos. There are also two airbnbs on site which we rented out for the weekend, both of which are super well kept and made us feel like the weekend was even more intimate. Thirdly, there is also a small “restaurant” space available for rent, where we also had our rehearsal dinner. The space is cozy and lovely, and we loved that our guests had the chance to visit several different buildings on the property during the weekend. The barn, where the reception is held, is also so lovely. It gives you that rustic feel while at the same time, its air conditioning and clean wooden finishes gives it a little modern touch. We loved that Indian Ridge gives the flexibility of bringing in outside vendors of your choice. Moreover, Amber, the site coordinator, was super on top of making sure they all were taken care of and organized. While you do have to go through Indian Ridge for alcohol and bar packaging, we thought that the bartenders were really excellent, professional, and attentive! They made actually delicious drinks - which is not a given at some wedding bars!! Finally, a note on the service: Ricky, the owner, is an awesome guy as everyone in previous comments has written. He was always around if we needed him, and drove our wedding party around the property so that we could get to various photo sites quickly and easily. As everyone has already said, this venue is a hidden gem! Not only is the venue itself amazing, but you are just 15 mins away from New Paltz, where our guests stayed and had such a great weekend exploring the town. In short, if you are looking for a Hudson Valley “rustic” wedding, Indian Ridge is the best spot!!! Can’t recommend them highly enough!!!
If you’re looking for a private, GORGEOUS barn venue this is it!! The barn is absolutely stunning and the property is perfect. Our ceremony was by the lake and our guests keep talking about how perfect the lake looked as a backdrop for the ceremony. Ricky was so helpful and great to work with! If there was anything we needed, he was ready to help us!! We got married on the hottest day of the year and the barn was cooled with AC. This venue is a hidden gem and we are so glad we found it!! We can’t thank Ricky and Amber enough! Book your tour now!!!
I cannot say enough positive things about Indian Ridge. My expectations were far exceeded because of Ricky and his team. I worked with Amber, the venue coordinator and Jill, the day-of coordinator, and they were outstanding. Overall 10/10 experience no doubt.
I didn’t hire a wedding planner and was hesitant about being able to handle it, but was reassured when Ricky, Jill and Amber went above and beyond to help me with anything I needed even if it was likely outside of their responsibilities. They were 100% focused on making sure everything was perfect.
The venue is absolutely beautiful and accommodating. Everything was so clean and elegant, from the lake view, to the lights in the barn, to even the bathrooms, it is already picture perfect for an elegant rustic wedding. But that is another great thing about this venue, they welcome you to decorate however you’d like and use the space however you’d like. There are so many picture spots, two amazing 10-person Airbnbs on property, a bridal suite for the couple to stay the night of their wedding, and there is even a salon room with hair and makeup chairs that is AMAZING because it eliminated all the getting ready chaos from having 12 girls getting ready in the same place. My guests thought we were at 6 completely different places and were so surprised to realize we never left the venue to get pictures of us having dinner on the deck of the Airbnb, kayaking, at the waterfall, in a salon and also in the barn. It was everything we wanted and needed in one place.
Ricky is incredible, he was so patient and kind, being on call basically all day to escort my 20-person wedding party around for whatever they needed. He was SO thoughtful, making sure there was coffee and creamer in the salon, that the barn was set up exactly how I wanted it, and even made sure I knew which shoulder to tap my husband on for our first look. Anything we needed he immediately took care of it, and was so accommodating to every request we had. He is such a cool, genuine person and amazingly helpful.
Amber is SO SWEET! She took the time to bring me around the venue multiple times before the wedding and help me figure out logistics, and even helped me set up a table with decorations and decide how to do it. She found me often at the party just to make sure I had a drink and asked if I needed anything.
Jill went so far beyond my expectations, she was so great and thought of every little thing I didn’t. She had so many great ideas to make my day run smoothly, and even spent the night before the wedding with us doing a rehearsal to ease my nerves, which took a lot of time with 20 people. She was FABULOUS and took all the pressure off me of contacting my vendors and coordinating the day schedule. It was so easy to trust her with making sure the day went perfect! She even danced with me when I was alone!
The bartenders were awesome, the guys who escorted us all over on Rangers were great, and overall the energy and teamwork at the barn was incredible for pulling off the best day of my life! I can’t thank everyone there enough for all they did in preparation and the day of. They’ve got it down to a science, and even when there’s a curveball and something changes or is urgent, they are on top of it without hesitation or frustration. The location is also super convenient with lots of hotels, restaurants and activities in the area! If you’re looking for a barn wedding, THIS IS YOUR PLACE!!!!
Ricky took our 8,000 deposit in 2020 when my wife and I were supposed to get married. We lost our homes and jobs and forced to move out of state to Colorado. We begged for our money back and Ricky strung us along for 2 years telling us all he could do was sell our date. He has now run off with the money and says if we want it back we need to get layers. I beg any good hearted person do not work with this man anyway. He held the pandemic against us and even after loosing family and struggling as it is to live he is unresponsive and will not return our calls. All our vendors gave us refunds and even after that still can’t even get anything back from Ricky. I beg anyone do not work with this man or get married on his cursed land.
Response from the Vendor on 05/10/2022
Our previous reviews shows that Indian Ridge prides itself on going above and beyond for all of our couples and giving them the best experience possible. Before the pandemic occurred, Indian Ridge was scheduled to host 18 events for the upcomin...
g 2020 wedding season. Unfortunately, many businesses were forced to close or put restrictions in place for the safety and well-being of our community. As a result of the limitations, event venues had to reduce their capacities to 50 guests events. Understandably, most couples were uninterested in downsizing. Due to the capacity restrictions, we only performed 3 of the weddings booked for 2020. Fortunately, all 2020 couples were happy to postpone and were rescheduled successfully without any complications. Our clients had beautiful weddings and were left ecstatic at the end of their celebrations with memories to last a lifetime.
Peter and his fiancé Emily were one of our couples originally booked in August of 2019 for Saturday, September 12, 2020. Indian Ridge was happy to accommodate a new date for them as we had for every other couple. They were initially agreeable and had chosen to reschedule to Saturday, August 7, 2021. We were happy to help and excited to host them. At the end of May 2021, Peter and Emily notified us that the new date would no longer work for them and asked for a refund, leaving us less than three months to try to rebook their date. We genuinely did the best we could to try to resell the date, but unfortunately, most couples require a longer lead time. Ultimately, we could not find someone to fill the date because of the short notice. We reached out to them to let them know Indian Ridge would not be able to resell the date. Feeling defeated, we offered them the opportunity to choose a third date. Indian Ridge was not obligated to do so, but like any great hospitality business, we were understanding and wanted to see them leave happy.
We were able to come to an agreement on a third date which was Sunday, May 29, 2022. On December 9, 2021, we reached out to Peter and Emily to see how they were making out with their vendors and plans for their event. Later that day, we received an email notifying us they had gotten married on September 20, 2021 in Colorado and that they again would like us to try to resell the third date for a refund. This 2nd notice gave us less than five months to be able to resell the date once again, not leaving us with enough lead time for another couple. Once again, we could not sell Peter and Emily's third wedding date. Due to the lack of notice, it left us in a position where, unfortunately, we could not accommodate them in the end.
To our future couples, we're happy to discuss our cancellation & rescheduling policies if you have any questions!
If you're looking for a planner in the Hudson Valley I highly recommend Heather from Indian Ridge. Her professionalism, communication, and organizational skills are top notch. She has a lot of knowledge and is very easy to work with when planning. She is very responsive by both email and phone, which lessens the stress of planning. I couldn't have asked for a better planner- thank you, Heather!
This was the perfect venue for our september wedding. We honestly could not have asked for anything better. Heather, my wedding planner and the event coordinator and Ricky, the manager of the venue were amazing. They helped our vision come to life and to be honest, it was better than expected. I could not have done this without Heather. She was my lifeline throughout all of my planning and when I needed her she was there. I had so many guests say how they loved this place. From the weather, to the decor, to the barn, the lake, the apple orchards, the waterfall, our bridal suite, the bar in the barn eveything was perfect. Thank you a million times over to Heather and RIcky and if you are looking for a venue for your Hudson Valley wedding, believe me, this is the perfect place.
You couldn't dream up a more perfect wedding venue. Indian Ridge is the definition of a hidden gem. This venue offers the full wedding experience. Every view is more beautiful than the next.
The newly constructed Barn is the perfect addition to this oasis. The fall foliage, apple trees, waterfall, and lake made every one of my dreams come true.
On top of everything the owner, Ricky, was the true MVP. He was there every step of the way making sure that everyone was able to enjoy themselves, navigate the terrain, and ensured everything went smoothly.
I couldn't recommend a more perfect wedding venue.
We had our wedding reception at Indian Ridge Preserve, and we honestly could not have wished for a more perfect venue and day. The wedding grounds are stunning - exactly what we were hoping for in our Hudson Valley wedding - and our guests raved about how beautiful it was. Ricky is always working to improve the wedding grounds, building a bar pavilion, barn (in progress), and other infrastructure to provide creature comforts to an outdoor wedding. Our entire wedding party, plus a few other close friends, were also able to stay in the house and lodge on the grounds, which was both extremely convenient and allowed for additional time with our favorite people on a very busy weekend. Both have excellent accommodations, upon which Ricky is also always improving.
I’ve already mentioned him twice, because Ricky is what takes Indian Ridge from a beautiful venue to a truly excellent place to have your event. He is extremely knowledgeable, supportive, and resourceful. His mission is to make sure your event is the best it can be, from helping to string lights through a tent to driving an extra table over last minute for your name cards. He is very clear the entire time that he is there for what you, the happy couple, want for your wedding. His staff are also efficient and courteous, and he has a wide network of business partners in the area. We highly recommend Indian Ridge to anyone looking for a gorgeous outdoor venue and excellent service.
My husband and I got married at Indian Ridge last weekend and we are over-the-moon thrilled with how amazing everything went! From the rehearsal dinner in the lodge to campfire songs and s'mores to pre-ceremony pictures by the waterfall and in the apple orchard to the outdoor ceremony to cocktail hour to reception to brunch and apple picking, Ricky was present and available the whole weekend to help us with any last-minute questions. Everything went so smoothly! We didn't have a wedding planner so Ricky's help was critical throughout this process. He truly thinks of everything and if he doesn't have the answer, he will figure it out right away. Our wedding weather was touch-and-go but Ricky and his staff made sure every aspect of the wedding day was comfortable and beautiful for our guests to enjoy. Our guests loved the apple picking and the overall beauty of the property. They kept asking us how we found such a great venue!? This is the perfect spot to have an intimate wedding weekend getaway!
The venue was beautiful, we had it on a misty day and still everything went off without a hitch! Loved our bridal suite on the lawn after the wedding was over. I would recommend to book the lodge for your bridal party to stay. We also had our rehersal dinner at the lodge and it made for a perfect intimate setting for our close family and friends.
We had our wedding here in September of 2017 and it was amazing! Ricky does an incredible job of maintaining the property and was really accommodating and helpful along the process. My husband and I knew we wanted to get married around the New Paltz area because we met there, and Indian Ridge is only a 15 minute drive from the town. The facilities and site are really beautiful and have a variety of different settings for photos, not to mention they had real bathrooms! A lot of other similar places we looked at required us to rent bathroom trailers. My bridesmaids and I stayed in the lodge area and it was really nice to have that space to relax and get ready in together before the ceremony. Definitely recommend Indian Ridge!
Indian Ridge is breathtakingly beautiful, and I knew it was the place I wanted to get married when I saw it in early fall last year, with its serene lake, sprawling apple orchards, and colorful wildflowers on full display. It was the perfect backdrop for the outdoor tented wedding I had in mind. Over a long year of wedding planning, Ricky, the owner, quickly became my confidant. He was extremely reliable, meticulous and considerate in his role. Every step of the way, he provided great insight, and as a bride, he gave me all the world's ease and confidence leading up to and on the day of the wedding. It is bittersweet that I will no longer get to correspond and work with him! If you are planning on an outdoor wedding in the Hudson Valley, Indian Ridge and Ricky should be at the very top of your list!
I fell in love with Indian Ridge as soon as I set foot on the property. The ceremony location is gorgeous and there are tons of hidden spots for amazing photos! Ricky goes above and beyond to make sure the day is perfect. I often found him calling me to check in and make sure my plans we're going smoothly. Worth every penny!
My wife and I had our wedding at Indian Ridge on Columbus Day weekend, and we couldn't be more happy with how everything turned out. The grounds are beautiful and sprawling, and it's the perfect place for an outdoor wedding. We had access to the entire 350 acre preserve for the whole weekend, including the lodge where we and some friends and family stayed.
We held our rehearsal dinner in the dining area in the lodge building, which had the cozy and warm vibe we were looking for. Ricky (the owner and manager, more on him later) got the fireplace going and started a fire pit for us out front, which our guests loved. My wife and I were super relaxed the entire night.
The ceremony and reception were held down by the lake, and you get a 360 degree view of beautiful Fall foliage. The grounds are impeccably maintained and it was just a beautiful place to get married. There were outdoor games like corn hole and hay bails for people to sit on, which were a great touch. Our ceremony took place by the lake, and it was truly gorgeous. The reception was in a tent right by the lake, and it was a blast. Ricky started another fire pit towards the end of the night where our guests made s'mores and kicked their feet up after a long night of dancing. The whole night was so much fun!
We also had a Sunday brunch by the beautiful orchard, where guests could eat some breakfast and pick their own apples. It was such a nice way to end a wonderful weekend.
Ricky was super helpful from the planning process all the way to when we left. He was always ready and willing to help, whether it was by shuttling family to and from the parking area, to helping set up chairs, to providing us with mason jars and runners for the tables, to answering our many questions leading up to the big weekend. His right hand man Greg (AKA the nicest guy ever) was also incredibly helpful. One of the many reasons we went with Indian Ridge was because of the flexibility - it's not like one of those catering halls or barns where you HAVE to start your ceremony at a certain time, or HAVE to vacate the premises by 10:59pm or else, or HAVE to use their vendors - Ricky was open to us starting the ceremony when we wanted, and was happy to accommodate whatever structure we wanted for our wedding. You don't find that flexibility often, and it's extremely valuable. It allows you to create you dream wedding the way you envisioned it - not the way some venue says it has to be done. Plus, the price is a great value for getting a humongous preserve all to yourself for an entire weekend.
We were so happy with all aspects of the wedding weekend, and can't recommend Indian Ridge enough!
We got married at Indian Ridge just a week ago September, and it really was magical. We rented the venue for the weekend, the night before my whole bridal party stayed in the lodge & we got ready there as well. We had our Sunday brunch in the Orchard which Ricky set up with tables and decor from our wedding, making it so easy for us. Ricky (the owner) was incredible to work with, he took care of everything he said he would and so many things that just popped up over the course of the weekend. The grounds are gorgeous and the tent area stays dry even in a down pour (trust me!). Ricky made sure not just us, but our whole bridal party was taken care of on the big day, shuttling us in the rain to and from pictures. We had a bon fire after party after the rain stopped and the skies cleared, all of which was a game time decision and Ricky made happen with out any fuss.
If you are looking for an outside farm to have your wedding, this really is the perfect place.
