Awesome experience working with Daniel for our wedding. Not only did he capture tons of great candids + accommodate all of our family's group photos, but he was very tactful in essentially saving us from suffering everything we thought was going to be so cheesy about the overall wedding experience. Weddings don't have to be cheesy! Elevated the experience by picking the vendors that align with your vision / aesthetic / personality really, really makes a huge difference. Pick your wedding planners and photographers carefully, they play a huge role in the overall day. We can't recommend Daniel enough if you want your wedding to be captured in a tasteful way. Daniel was wonderful to work with for our engagement & wedding shoots in San Diego. Our wedding was an Indian Mexican affair so a bit different than his other weddings but he welcomed the challenge and gave us such beautiful memories to treasure for a long time! When I was doing my wedding photographer search, Daniel's style appealed to me for it's artistic moodier takes and but also it was important for us to have a warm & down-to-earth personality and Daniel is so easygoing to work with. Looking back to our wedding day, we had such a wonderful time & the only time I noticed Daniel explicitly was during our family photos - that was a bit chaotic, as family is, but he seemed unfazed and gently carried on which was great. During the rest of the day, as someone else described, Daniel was around but without being in the way - it was natural and we trusted him to capture the details I think that contributed to the great moments he shared with us from both our ceremony & dance floor. In terms of logistics, he was super easy to communicate with and open to any of our suggestions - for example, after our engagement shoot we realized we need a tad bit more guidance and candid is harder than it looks :) and Daniel was fully onboard and guided us when it came time for the wedding. My recommendation would be to share any of your key things you want captured with him but if you dont, you are also in great hands. I would highly recommend Daniel and Indigo West.

Simone is absolutely amazing, he is detail oriented and skillful about leading us to do different poses with different sceneries perfectly. Daniel was an absolute pleasure to have as our photographer, both for our engagement and wedding pictures. You could tell he was enjoying himself even as he carefully crafted shots and scenes throughout the day for us. The best photographers are around but not in the way, and that sums up how Daniel was throughout the night. He came up to us after the wedding and was genuinely stoked about how wonderful the lighting was in our venue. Let me tell you that our venue was dark and moody, and certainly not easy to work with. Daniel of Indigo West Photography is seriously the best wedding photographer! Starting with our engagement session, he was so professional, kind, calm, and collected, making us feel at ease even when we were a little nervous. At our wedding he beautifully captured all of the important moments (and more!!) but we didn't feel like we were always being followed around by a camera. Daniel is an incredibly talented photographer and was so easy to work with. We had both our engagement photos and wedding photos done by Indigo West and they turned out stunning. He was super professional, responsive and timely. He even got us our engagement photos to us in less than a week since he knew we would be using them to send our invitations. He also went above and beyond in staying longer than the 8 hrs of service requested so he could shoot the final send off.

Aside marrying my husband, photography was the MOST important aspect of the wedding that we knew we could not cut a single corner on and I cannot express how amazing Daniel was. He is incredibly talented a and wedding pictures were more than I could have dreamed. My husband and I are not the type that like the highly edited, fine art type of photos - we wanted natural, candid moments that would make us really relive the moments we will cherish for the rest of our lives. Daniel did such an amazing job shooting our wedding! We are so happy with the photos. They capture the day perfectly, and have a great atmosphere and slightly dreamy/"artsy" feel without looking overly filtered. I was a little nervous about feeling awkward during couples photos, but Daniel made us feel totally at ease, and did a great job of recommending poses. He got all of the posed/family photos done super efficiently, which was great! For the candid photos, he did such a great job of blending in that I don't even remember seeing him taking most of them! Daniel was also super professional and easy to communicate with, both leading up to our wedding and on the big day. Highly recommend!

We really enjoyed working with Juniper & Ivy for our wedding photography! Stephen was fantastic to work with on the day of! His photos were very awesome and he was relaxed and aimed to get natural photos of us that I know we’ll adore and treasure for the rest of our lives! They were also great in being flexible with us since we had to change our date several times due to COVID. The only reason I put 4/5 stars was that communication was a lil hard with the company itself but otherwise it was fantastic!

I'm not sure how we are going to be able to choose our favorites because we simply like them all. You are amazing and we are so happy we decided to work with you on our special day. It's so funny to me because I don't really remember seeing you at all on our wedding day (except the family pictures) yet there are pictures from the ENTIRE night with various angles, you must be a ninja! We are still confused how you were in so many places at once during the ceremony :) Prior to the wedding, I was worried having one person I didn't know at the wedding would be noticeable and I would focus on the camera, but you blended so well into the crowd and made all of the guests and myself feel extremely comfortable. We cannot express enough how happy we are with our pictures. You captured our personalities as well as our souls. I am able to relive the entire day and remember the rollercoaster of emotions just by flipping through the gallery."

Daniel was our wedding photographer and we loved him so much we reached out when we want family photos for my daughters first birthday! Daniel was amazing - he made us feel extremely comfortable during our engagement shoot. We had fun, it was easy-going and he had lots of poses and cool spots thought-out for us. The best part was that whenever we felt tense or nervous - he was able to say fun things that got us to laugh and have fun again, which was awesome and made the time go by quickly. Obviously, the photos turned out stunning as well - no need to worry about that, you probably already knew that though when looking through his work ;) This gave us tons of confidence heading into our wedding day because we knew that he brought out the best in us and would capture all our moments to perfection. He got there early, was extremely professional and friendly. Getting the second shooter was also nice because she took some cool alternate angles that we were happy with. As we approach our 1 yr anniversary we were looking back at our photos and were reminded how grateful we were that we hired Daniel (Indigo West) because the photos were stunning, beautiful and unique.

We hired Daniel to do our engagement session and wedding day session. I am so thankful we chose him. His style of photography fit what we wanted and his demeanor was perfect for us. He is very down to earth and worked well with what we wanted but also capturing things we didn't know we wanted. Daniel did our small elopement this past summer and we truly loved working with him. He seems to have a great sense of when to give direction but in a way that didn't make anything feel forced. Daniel photographed our wedding in the middle of Covid - and he made it feel safe and comfortable, despite the added overhead of a pandemic. He was very easy to communicate with virtually and accommodated all our requests (including a long drive out to Canon Beach at the end of the wedding for more photos!). Daniel was originally booked for our wedding pre-pandemic and, after we realized “normal” times were not returning any time soon, ended up shooting our backyard “micro wedding” this summer. He was creative, flexible, and professional throughout the day. Our photos were absolutely stunning and we still smile looking at them. We worked with Daniel to come up with a day of schedule which helped with the flow of the event and get every shot we wanted. Daniel did a great job coordinating with the event staff (DJ and caterer) to stay in the know when the next phase of the wedding was going to happen to ensure he captured every moment. He was also very fast about getting us a few sneak-peak photos a few days after the wedding and then the rest of all the photos within a month of the wedding. We couldn't be happier with how they turned out. Would 100% recommend!

SO happy we went with Daniel for our wedding this past fall. He was amazing not only on the day of but in helping us plan and even accommodating our last minute change of venue. I'll summarize first, with details below: Juniper & Ivy seems to be cheaper in price than many other candid-style photographers in San Diego. And if you aren't working with Lindsay then perhaps you'll have an overall positive experience with the company. But if I were to do it over again, I would definitely contract a more expensive photographer to avoid all the anxiety and frustration on my wedding day. PROS: - Less expensive than other San Diego wedding photographers - Some of my photos are gems I will cherish forever. - The pictures are taken in a candid style, which is what I wanted. - The assistant photographer, Sarah, was great. CONS : - In the month prior to the wedding, our main photographer Lindsay was very difficult to communicate with. Apparently, consulting on the wedding day timeline, which a photographer often has valuable preference/input on, is not something she considers part of the paid package; she told us that the only service she is paid to execute is the day-of photography. Okay, I guess it's not in the contract, but WOW is that bad policy for a wedding photographer. Lindsay realized my frustrations with her and volunteered to provide an extra hour of photography at the end of the wedding, which was a nice move. - Lindsay had also indicated some things weren't positive in her personal life, and so I wrote to Daniel, Juniper & Ivy's main man, to let him know he might want to reach out and see if she could do the job. This was intended to give him the chance to provide me with a photographer who could be professional. He never got back to me. - Day-of wedding, she was 45 minutes late. This gave us 15 minutes for all getting-ready photos. Okay, sometimes issues happen. - Lindsay told us that the day before the wedding she would scout Presidio Park to find the best spot for our first look photos. So why did we wait 45 minutes while she wandered around the park? We ultimately had 15 minutes for first look and wedding party pictures, which is not enough. Lindsay is a talker, so I was constantly urging her to take photos instead of wasting time explaining why things were running behind. - Family photos were miserable. It took 1 hour for 10 family combos, so I didn't get to experience even a second of my happy hour. She went through to correct every single shoulder placement for each family member, and yet there are still heads blocked in some of the photos I received. - Lindsay did follow through on her promise to stay until 9pm. At that point she had the audacity to jump on me with "I heard you were really annoyed with me in the car at the park," and then let me know she had delivered that extra hour. By then I had zero interest in talking further to remind her that she had only given an extra 15 minutes since she had been 45 minutes late. - Post-processing seems to be Daniel's job. I did not receive the contracted sample photos 4 weeks after the wedding, and so when I received the bulk of them, more than 3 weeks later than contracted, I hadn't been able to give feedback that I did not like the sepia effect applied to a number of photos. - We were also missing all the photos that were taken by our second photographer, Sarah. Luckily we remembered some key photos that we knew she took and were able to figure out that all of hers seemed to be missing. Daniel managed to acquire and process them so we finally got them all, but that was more than another month later, despite my mom's truly practiced nagging.

We had Indigo West shoot our engagement this past August and we are so happy with the images and showed them to absolutely everyone. Incredible how he was able to bring out our genuine personalities after only knowing us for an hour! We would absolutely recommend as your photographer and we would hire him to shoot our wedding if he wasn't already booked for our date !

Indigo West truly was the best decision we made for our wedding. Daniel went far and beyond to make sure our day went smooth and accommodated all our crazy relative's photo requests. We picked Daniel to photograph our elopement to the Oregon coast, and he did not disappoint. The photographs... phenomenal! I am proud that he was a part of our very special day!
