our DIYs (that we put our blood and sweat into!). We wanted someone who can capture candid photos of our guests as we'd be too busy to observe how much fun they're having. Finding a photographer with this particular set of skills was not an easy task. I contacted about 8 different photographers, 9 including the one we ended up hiring. Prices of each photographers varied from $3,500 to $5,500. My husband and I wanted to choose the right photographer. The photos they produced were going to be the photos we looked at over and over for the rest of our lives. We weren't planning to hire any videographer so photography was important for us. After my long journey of my hunt for the perfect photographer, I found Indu from Indu Huynh Photography. Her website and blog displayed beautiful pictures that I instantly fell in love with. I received a response from Indu within a day of contacting her. She was so easy to communicate with. She responded quick with such details that I knew she was just the perfect match right off the bat. Her, my husband and I met prior to booking her to go over her terms, pricing, and etc. Her pricing was fairly reasonable compared to other photographers that we contacted. We booked her right away. Her personality was just so splendid, her work was excellent and we instantly fell in love with her! Indu was so attentive and helpful when deciding which outfits and props to use for the engagement photoshoot. We chatted via text, Instagram direct messages and talked on the phone. I loved this. Prior to taking our engagement photos, one of our fear was that the photos weren't going to turn out well because of US, not the photographer. I mean, look at us, we're no models. We have no knowledge of different poses and how to display ourselves in front of the camera. Let alone hold that pose and smile in front of a stranger holding a camera. But because of Indu's charming personality and patience, our photos turned out so well. She directed us to pose a certain way, tell us which directions to look, and etc. The photos turned out so good! The lighting, the setting, the outfits, and the poses were all perfect -- thanks to Indu! Fast forward to one month later, our wedding day. Indu arrived on time with her team (David and Alan). They came dressed in all black with all their photography equipment. As always, Indu arrived with her awesomely-cheery attitude. Her and her team made us (husband, myself and the bridal party) feel comfortable right away. For example, I had a strapless dress and it would periodically droop (it was really heavy!) and my jelly bras would show from the side. Alan (her assistant) was always kind enough to remind me to pull my dress up! So hilarious! No embarrassment there, they were part of my team. Rather than another vendor we hired, Indu and her team became part of our bridal party. They witnessed our happy moments, our teary moments, our joyful moments, and even our panic moments! We enjoyed their presence very much. So much so that when I look back at my wedding and think of how fun it was, I can't imagine the fun moments without them. was lovely. Our engagement photo shoot was a lot of fun, and was a great idea before the wedding. She's very responsive and the pictures turned out great! She listened to us and what we wanted, and seemed to invisibly sneak around our reception taking photos without being noticed at all. We got the basic package and had two photographers (Indu and one she brought) on the wedding day.
