Inferno WoodFired Pizza Kitchen is a mobile catering company based in San Marcos, CA. This business's story began over 30 years ago in owner Scott's home kitchen using pizza stones in the oven. Despite the pizzas he created tasting really good, he quickly discovered the challenge of achieving the perfect pizza crust in a standard oven. After some trial and error, he perfected his dough recipe to achieve a perfectly crispy crust that was still fluffy and chewy on the inside. The construction of his very first wood-fired oven in 2003 changed everything, and the perfect pizza crust was realized!! The high heat of the WoodFired oven was the key! What started as a backyard passion has now become a thriving mobile catering company.
Inferno Woodfired Pizza Kitchen now serves amazing pizzas, pastas and anma salads and more wood-fired creations throughout San Diego County, South Orange County, and Riverside County. Scott and his team can bring their restaurant-quality kitchen to any location, venue, or occasion.
Scott and the team prepare their pizza dough fresh daily and then let it cold-proof for 72 hours and then roll the dough and let it cold-ferment for another two days to get that delicious flavor and texture. All of their menu items are made with traditional Italian Caputo "00" flour and award-winning Bianco Di Napoli Tomatoes from Northern California to achieve that authentic taste. Artisan breads, pasta dishes, salads, and appetizers are also available for those who aren't pizza fans. Scott looks forward to sharing the art of their San Diego-style pizza with you and your loved ones, from his family's kitchen to your special day.

Scott founded Inferno in 2013, he has a passion for exceptional food and delighting his guests.
Scotts story began more than 25 years ago in his home kitchen using pizza stones in the oven. I always had a plan to make great pizza at home, and the pizza we made was really good, but I couldn't get exactly the result I was looking for. I realized that our home oven was not capable of getting hot enough for an amazing crust, something called "oven spring" where the high heat caused the dough to rise quickly and a with a quicker cooking time, the outside is crispy and the inside or crumb of the crust is flaky, chewy and soft.
Through some trial and error, I was able to perfect my dough recipe and hone my pizza making skills. Today we have refined our dough making down to an exact science, adjusting little things for weather changes in humidity and outside temperature.
The real game changer came when I decided to build a wood fired oven in our backyard in 2003. The first pizza that we cooked in there changed everything! We couldn't believe the amazing taste and texture of the thin and crispy yet fluffy crust. The wood fired oven can rise to the proper high temperature needed, just exceeding 900 degrees which is essential to create the perfect pizza. My family and I expanded our repertoire by experimenting with different sauces and toppings. We constantly had all of our friends and neighbors over for pizza parties just so we could make a ton of pizza! I mean who doesn't love a tasty pizza?!
We received great reviews from our family and friends, so we decided to take our show on the road! We now serve our wood fired creations throughout San Diego County and south Orange and Riverside counties as well. We travel with our awesome mobile WoodFired Restaurant quality Kitchens to your location. You'll find us all over San Diego at Weddings, Wineries, breweries, sporting events, Private Parties, Apartment Complexes, and local business parks and festivals.

We LOVED having Inferno Woodfired Kitchen cater dinner for our wedding, the pizza was amazing (I've had dreams about it) and Scott was wonderful to work with! They were on time, professional, and so accommodating for various changes throughout the planning process, even day of. Scott was super responsive and informative of the process. I would definitely use them again for any event!

Scott and his team were a dream to work with. My husband and I wanted to do something different for our wedding, and I am so glad we found inferno. The team was on time, dressed professionally and Scott answered all my crazy questions along the way. Not to mention, everyone’s plates were clean and raved about how good the pizza was. I highly recommend using them for your next event!

Scott with Inferno Woodfired Kitchen is amazing!! Our previous caterer cancelled on us about 5 months before our wedding. In a panic, we searched to find a new wood fire pizza caterer. This is when my husband found Scott and set up a phone call with him. From the first phone call consult with him, my husband assured me we would be in good hands. Scott talked to my husband for a good thirty minutes introducing himself and getting to know us and our situation and expectations. He was professional from start to end! We did the pizza, salad, appetizers, and cannoli and cookies!!! All the food was phenomenal and for a great price! The staff was efficient and kind. I can’t say enough great things about this company! Highly recommend and hope to use them for future events! Thank you Scott for providing us and all our guests with delicious food on our big day! We are so thankful! Cheers!!
