About this vendor
Nestled in gently rolling hills beside the Guadalupe River and Cypress Creek, the Ingenhuett on High is a unique venue option in Comfort, Texas. As one of the oldest buildings in Texas, the Ingenhuett on High has an unforgettable atmosphere of industrial chic mingled with timeless elegance. The venue ensures stunning wedding photography with a variety of indoor and outdoor spaces, gorgeous natural lighting and striking architecture.
The Ingenhuett on High was first built as a general store in 1867 and held the title of "oldest continually running general store" in Texas until it tragically suffered extensive fire damage in 2006. The current owners have restored the building, adding some modern features while maintaining many of the original aspects. The intersection of historic and contemporary designs is exemplified by antique elements such as the exposed limestone walls and modern elements such as the koi pond.
The Ingenhuett on High features indoor and outdoor spaces that couples may choose from for their ceremony and reception.

We had our wedding at the Ingenhuett on 3/25 for 160ish people, and it was absolutely the perfect venue. The venue is the perfect mix of old world with modern touches. I had the ce...
remony in the koi pond area, and it was beyond beautiful. Better than I could have ever imagined. The whole space is very functional, and there are lots of different options for seating/ceremony which was great given we wanted the ceremony outdoors. The bridal suite is part of what sold me too. It is huge and bright with so much space to spread out. Lots of chairs for hair and makeup as well which is great. I just cannot say enough amazing things about the venue! Add to that, that Jeanine was so easy to work with and responsive in the months leading up. Another huge plus is the 3 hotels in walking distance which made for a worry free wedding since people could walk home.
This venue was our favorite part of our wedding. It is so beautiful with so much character and history. If you are looking for a place that doesn’t need a lot of decoration, this i...
s it! There is a gorgeous and HUGE bridal suite upstairs and an amazing cellar downstairs which is where our guys hung out for the day. Jeanine was amazing to work with from the very beginning and was very flexible with our needs. Brooke, the wedding coordinator was amazing and made our day stress free and go so smoothly. She payed very close attention to detail and left us not worrying about a thing. This is a perfect place to meet all of your aesthetic needs with lots of indoor and outdoor options. We highly recommend this space for any small or big weddings and events. The small town and hidden gems were a perfect fit to have all of our family and friends get away for the weekend too!
Shopping for a wedding venue was the most drawn out & touch decision of our entire wedding planning. We looked at 8 wedding venues before literally stumbling upon the Ingenhuett on...
High. After looking at another venue in Comfort, we literally walked right up to the Ingenhuett. We peered through the windows to see gorgeous exposed beams, rustic charm, and modern touches. OUR DREAM VENUE! We called the owner, Jeanine, to ask when she as available for a tour and she happily said she could be there shortly!!! That day we toured the venue and heard about its history. Jeanine truly honored this special building by restoring it after it burnt down, and now she lets lucky people like us get married inside of it!!
There are so many wonderful spaces & things in this venue that you cannot get in other venues in the hill country. It will leave your guests talking about your wedding for years! First off, the town of Comfort is so quaint. All of our guests could walk to the venue from near by hotels and it made travel so easy. After the wedding we all went across the street to the Meet Market and kept the party going.
The venue sports a GIANT bridal suite with tons of natural light. I had 8 bridesmaids and family all get ready in the bridal suite. There was so much space for us! There is a gorgeous dress hook that hangs from the ceiling for pictures, and two different racks for bridal party clothing. The natural light was ideal for pictures & make up too! In the back of the venue there is a garden for a ceremony with string lights, which is where we chose to get married. We got married up against the shed, in October it had gorgeous ivy growing on it too! The cocktail patio is spacious and covered. We used the venues bar outside and had two different lounge spots too. We also chose to do our first looks here next to the pond! The basement was our FAVORITE detail of the venue. It was so unique! We decided to make the basement a “speakeasy” bar. We had lounge furniture & bar downstairs that was open before & after dinner. It was a HIT with our guests and made for gorgeous photos too. Inside the venue, it sat our 110 guests comfortable. Even with the 13 guest tables & our sweetheart table, we had enough space for a large dance floor. The bar inside the venue is huge so it kept the bar line down! Inside the venue also holds the original Comfort bank safe & the storage room for mail.
By far the best part of this venue, was not the space itself but was the incredible family that owns it. The Leeder’s are a wonderful family that loves what they do. They made our wedding day so special and we didn’t feel like just another wedding happening at their venue, they were excited to be apart of our day! Thank you Leeder’s for making our wedding a wonderful day in Comfort, Texas!
Our daughter found this venue in little Comfort, Texas. After looking for months in San Antonio and the surrounding area, it was exactly what she was looking for. A venue in a s...
mall town that had all the charm of a bygone era and large enough to hold a large amount of people. The management was very easy to work with, very accommodating and just as excited about hosting the wedding as we were. There were many places to stay in the area to make it a weekend event, especially check out the Faust Hotel three doors down from the Ingenhuett. This is a GEM in the Hill Country that needs to be explored.
From the moment I first stepped into The Ingenhuett, I knew it was where I wanted to get married. After that moment, my wedding vision really fell into place. It is an absolutely s...
tunning venue.
My husband I just got married on March 9 and we used the outdoor space for our ceremony and the indoor and courtyard area for our reception. We wanted a very relaxed "home-like" feel, but with elegance and charm. We had several lounge areas and table tops games. My guests loved it!! But the great thing about this venue is you truly have the freedom to make it what you want! The owner, Jeanine, is more than happy to help in any way she can. She opened the doors to the Ingenhuett multiple times for my family and wedding coordinator to see before the wedding date, and was there to offer any guidance/advice.
I feel so blessed that I can honestly say I had my dream wedding!! Thank you, Jeanine!
Do you believe in Fairy Godmothers? Book this venue and you will be pleased to find that one is included! The owner, Jeanine, is super involved and bent over backwards to make ou...
r day perfect. I am so thankful for her! Aside from the personal touch that she brings, the venue is STUNNING. Every single guest stopped me to tell me how incredible it is and that they had never seen anything like it. The bridal suite was so comfortable and spacious--fit for a princess. Finally, getting married in the town of Comfort was so special and unique. At night, you have the whole town to yourself and during the day, it drips with charm. Honestly, I can't say enough for the Ingenhuett and everything that comes with it. It built the foundation for the best day of my life and I couldn't be happier that we chose this venue to start our future together in.
The Ingenhuett on High is such a gorgeous venue nestled in the heart of downtown Comfort! It was absolutely perfect for my wedding! It has such a unique, rustic character that comp...
limented the decor beautifully! Our guests had so many compliments to give and the Koi Pond was a hit! The bridal suite is so cute very spacious with lots of natural light that is perfect for hair and makeup! The guys were able to get ready downstairs, in the basement, and it made for great photos! So highly recommended!
10 stars, if I could! Natalie is incredible to work with and helped us plan our dream wedding! Our family is eternally grateful to her!
I could not have asked for a better wedding venue. My husband and I had our wedding at the Ingenhuett on High this past Saturday. I have nothing but positive to say about Natalie a...
nd Raleigh. Raleigh was the venue coordinator on the big day and she was extremely helpful, kind, and professional. She happily worked with our day of coordinator and they made the day flow by so smoothly!
The venue itself is absolutely stunning and was perfect for our wedding size (about 75 people). You do not need much decoration for a venue like this, as it comes with a unique character that you can't find anywhere else.
Thank you again so much for having us!
Natalie was beyond amazing and sweet and I would recommend her and her team to any bride looking for a planner!!
We could not have picked a more perfect spot for our November wedding. It was the perfect combination of indoors and outdoors, and such a beautiful space. We received so many compl...
iments on our choice of venue.
My favorite thing about the space is that it speaks for itself. There was no need to bring in a ton of decorations, it is beautiful as is. So many unique touches, such as the mail slots behind the bar, the Koi pond and bridge for the aisle, and the un-retouched walls made this such an incredible venue!
The town of Comfort is also so great for a venue. We rented out all 8 rooms of the Hotel Faust, two doors down from the Ingenhuett, for our bridal party. So nice being right next to the venue and such a charming little B&B. We all were able to hang out in the gazebo after the rehearsal and the ceremony and keep the party going. Definitely check out High's and 8th street market as well. There is also a wine bar and distillery right on High street that we unfortunately did not have time to visit.
Overall, I cannot recommend this space enough!
I am happy to say that we could not have picked a better company to help coordinate our big day!! Christina was one of the most patient, sweet, helpful, and organized people I have...
ever had the pleasure of working with. She made sure that she took the weight off of our shoulders, and that our day was as perfect as we envisioned it. She didn't make us feel rushed while also keeping us on our timeline. She consistently checked in on to see how we were doing and also got us everything we needed and had answers to all of our questions. My family was blown away at how eloquently she dealt with everything, and just how sweet she was! We were very blessed to have her there with us and I know the vendors appreciated all of her hard work too. Her, as well as the rest of the Country Sugar team, helped make our dream wedding a reality!

Really can't say enough about this venue and the location! It was fantastic! We had our wedding here in April and everyone that came couldn't say enough about what a beautiful spac...
e it was. I would say to cap your wedding at around 100 which is what we had a it was the right amount of space for that amount of people. Natalie is the wedding coordinator that we worked with leading up to the wedding and then day of we worked with Raliegh and she was just as great! She made sure that the groom and I ate before everyone else did so that we could mingle while they ate. The bridal suite has light to die for and ample space for getting ready. We choose to have our actual wedding in the outdoor space in the back and we loved the way it looked in photos!
Comfort is such a charming town with a lot of really good food and cozy bed and breakfasts!
Natalie and her team at Country Sugar are amazing! The following is an email my mom sent Natalie after my wedding, it says it all:
Natalie,
You, Matt and Raleigh made Elizabeth ...
and Greg's wedding day the kind of special celebration that we envisioned. Each of you worked so hard to make everything run smoothly and it did.
I wasn't nervous the day of the wedding, because I knew you all would take care of everything.
Since all of you took care of the many details, it allowed Bert and me to relax and enjoy our daughter's wedding. Well, at least I know I was relaxed! Elizabeth and Greg were so happy and had a fabulous time, as did our friends and family. Having everyone enjoy Elizabeth and Greg's special day is what we wanted and were able to accomplish because of your great service.
Thank you so much!

I would highly recommend Country Sugar Events!!!
Natalie is absolute best! My now husband and I wanted to get married in San Antonio, but we live in Missouri. I chose Natalie and Country Sugar based on the reviews of others and...
was not disappointed at all. She made having a destination wedding a breeze. She went above and beyond to give us the wedding of my dreams with creative ideas to stick within our budget.
All of our guest raved that our wedding was the best wedding they have ever attended!

e wedding. She was always professional and on the day of the wedding I was stress free and got to enjoy my wedding day with my family, friends, and new husband. I would strongly recommend Country Sugar Events.
We just got married at The Ingenhuett and it was amazing! While we sometimes had issues with getting responses to our emails in a timely fashion during the planning process, in the...
end all of that was completely overshadowed by the absolute beauty and uniqueness of the venue! We used the courtyard for our ceremony (with the aisle leading across the bridge over the koi pond), and had intended to use the beer garden and backyard cocktail hour. However, due to rain making the backyard a bit mucky, we changed plans and held cocktail hour in the courtyard/beer garden (with an outdoor bar in the beer garden). With less than 100 guests, this worked out perfectly. Our reception was in the main hall, and our caterer set up the buffet tables on the dance floor, which was a wonderful layout.
I think if you have more than about 110-120 guests at your wedding this venue might feel a little cramped. As it was, it was incredibly hot, and more people would likely make it even more stuffy.
This venue is so cool and interesting - we felt it needed hardly any decorations because all of the details (the stone walls, beamed ceiling, bank vault, historic "hardware counter" bar, etc.) are total show-stoppers. The Ingenhuett is a really awesome mix of industrial, rustic, and historic, and I know our wedding pictures are going to be just amazing! The bridal suite is also great - very spacious and with a ton of bright light. They are in the process of adding a kitchen as well, which will make things even better in time.
The other nice thing about this venue is that it is right in the center of town, walking distance to many accommodation options. Our guests loved it and we received a ton of compliments!
This venue is incredibly beautiful, pictures don't quite do it justice. We used the back lawn for our ceremony, and the courtyard and hall for our cocktail hour and reception. It a...
lso has a beautiful bridal suite that was perfect to get ready in with my bridesmaids. The venue is stunning day or night and has so many pretty elements like the brick, stone, and wood that you don't need a whole lot of decorations like you would in a ballroom. We got so many compliments on the venue, it really was perfect and exactly what we wanted. I used the venue coordinator, Natalie, as my wedding planner as well and her and her assistants were amazing.

h the owner of the venue we had picked out, I knew I needed help. Trying to find a wedding planner less than 6 months before a wedding was difficult and I was feeling super overwhelmed, but then I came across Country Sugar and contacted Natalie who told me she didn't want me to have to stress anymore and set up an appointment for us to meet right away even though it was the weekend before Thanksgiving. It meant so much to me that she did that and I knew she was the perfect person for the job. I wasn't wrong! She helped me find the remaining vendors I needed and was a huge support in dealing with the uncooperative staff at the venue. She listened to everything I said I wanted and executed it perfectly. When the big day finally came, I was able to relax and not worry about a thing because I knew she would take care of any issue that came up. The wedding ended up being everything I wanted and so much more and I attribute that to her! She was so fun and easy to work with and is great at what she does! I can't thank her enough for everything she has done!!
Natalie was amazing. The best decision I ever made was to hire her to plan our wedding. Anytime I had stress about anything, she was there to listen. She made my vision and dreams ...
come true on that day, and honestly the day was perfect. There is that saying that something will go wrong on your wedding day, but for me I don't think that applied. It was perfect. She made everything perfect. I couldn't have asked for a better wedding or a better experience. I would not only recommend Country Sugar to anyone and everyone I know, but I would recommend Natalie specifically to them. She made the experience amazing.
So, a lot of venues have pretty photos, but this venue is actually breathtaking. Our guests couldn't stop raving about this venue. In fact, we decided to get married in Comfort jus...
t because this venue is so unique and beautiful! The covered outdoor area with the koi pond was absolutely gorgeous in the evening sun, the indoor area is rustic while being very comfortable (new wood floors and ceiling, great A/C), old fashioned bar...We couldn't stand getting married in a ballroom or in a venue that felt like a barn or a firehall. This venue had history while being thoroughly modern in style. The upstairs bridal suite is huge, with antique furniture, big windows, and even a balcony for a Romeo-and Juliet moment. The back yard is sodded and has party lights (we used it for our cocktail hour). My bridesmaids got a kick out of posing with an antique tractor. Natalie Hart, the venue coordinator (we also hired her as our planner) was very easy to work with and helped to make the day a huge success. During our planning process she apparently had a bridge for the koi pond made, which was just the icing on the cake. You must see this venue to believe it. (It's also a great value for the money compared to Houston venues!)
I will never be able to put into words how lucky my husband and I were to have Natalie with Country Sugar help us with our wedding. Natalie took over every stress I had leading up ...
to the wedding with allowed me to truly enjoy the best day of my life. I honestly do now know if there are enough words to explain how blessed we were to have the Country Sugar team. Natalie contacted all of our vendors the week before to make sure they knew when they needed to arrive and what equipment they would need. The year of planning and stress was completely wiped away when Natalie took over. Our big day was absolutely perfect and if there were any issues at all, I never knew about them--they were simply taken care of. I was able to enjoy the whole day without any stress because of Natalie and her assistant(and Natalie was not feeling well either). Mac and I did not have to worry about a single thing during the reception either. Natalie made sure we did everything we needed to at the correct time and when we didn't have anybody to cut the cake, she stepped up. I can honestly say that Natalie was a heaven sent. My husband and I felt important to her and I would consider her my friend. I would HIGHLY recommend Country Sugar to anybody who asked!!!

f a wedding planner. We found NATALIE with Country Sugar through the Hyatt’s list of vendors. After interviewing a couple of planners, we chose Natalie. This was the best decision we made. The Bride and Groom were able to make many decisions through email and phone calls and only had to make 3 trips to San Antonio over one year of planning. She has connections to many great vendors and most of all a very creative and organized mind. Because of guest list size and that the bride and groom not only did not live in San Antonio (they lived in 2 different locations) we chose her top plan. She helped us plan a full weekend of wedding events including a Friday Night welcome dinner, Men’s Golf outing and Ladies Wedding Day Brunch. And to top it off she stopped at Starbucks the morning of the wedding and personally delivered coffee to the brunch that morning. I can honestly say I consider Natalie my friend and I am going to miss seeing her name pop up in my INBOX!!! ☺

on we could make, she not only put us at ease the minute we met her but she completely went above and beyond our wildest dreams. With Country Sugar, you get a design packet that helps get all your ideas on paper without it being just your Pinterest page. They take your thoughts and run with it and the end product was better than I thought possible. Natalie helped us create a weekend of events from a Country welcome dinner for our guest, to Saturday Women's Brunch and Men's Golf before our wedding. She has a team the day of that take care of everything, things went so smoothly I was even able to take a quick nap before I walked down the aisle. Natalie and the Country Sugar Team are truly the fairy godmother's every bride needs when planning their big day.

gar Team made the experience so enjoyable.
I didn't really even know where to begin the wedding planner process, so I am very thankful that Natalie and her team were there. From start to finish, they helped me plan, offered advice, and made certain our special day ran smoothly-- from the "I dos" to the final dance. We were working from a tight budget, and Natalie helped us find vendors that fit both our preferences and our budget. Our wedding was perfect--wouldn't change a single thing! Most of our family and friends commented that they hadn't been to a wedding so fun, engaging, and emotional in quite some time. Country Sugar Events won't let you down!
Thank you, to Natalie and her team, for making our day so amazing. <3
The Ingenhuett has the industrial and unique feel that I was looking for. We were able to come up with a comfortable flow for my 175 guest count. Everyone raved over the venue and ...

lt experience but Natalie swooped in and immediately eased any troubles. She provided great recommendations for vendors that fit my vision but also coached me on where to save and where to splurge. She was also an angel when helping me coordinate family (especially family that don't always get along). I would hire her again just to be the point person for family members! Her schedules and planning went off without a hitch and our day was perfect...seriously, I wouldn't change one thing! Our wedding was not only beautiful, but it was fun and on time :) Thank you Natalie and team Country Sugar! xo

ing in pricing/contract information the day we wanted to put on deposit on the venue because it was her "day off". After multiple emails and "totally forgetting" to reply, I came to the conclusion that they didn't want my business. Sorry, if you run a business in the wedding industry you should probably be able to show the venue on a Sunday no problem, especially when you would be getting paid. Additionally, if your job is organizational, you should be organized enough to carry paperwork with you, or store it on sight. It is really upsetting, because this place is beautiful. I simply cannot trust those running the business to do a good job, when getting a return email or a contract is like pulling teeth.
The venue is beautiful, it is a shame that my money wasn't good enough for them.

ing guests all complimented it. There are bed and breakfasts on either side of the venue, and I was able to block one for the bridal party and wedding guests from out of town booked the other. It was very convenient. The girls were able to walk over to the venue the morning of the wedding to get ready and have a luncheon in the bridal suite upstairs. The town is so quaint and cute, and the venue is gorgeous! The Ingenhuett on High was perfect for my wedding reception!

e Ingenhuett team was well organized, helpful, personal and on top of every detail. I spent the afternoon getting ready in the bridal suite with my bridesmaids, which was such a fun way to start the day! It was spacious and comfortable and there were plenty of mirrors, room, etc. for everyone to comfortably get ready. It was also so fun to be able to peek downstairs as the vendors began setting up for the reception! My husband and his groomsmen loved hanging out in the wine cellar as they waited to take pictures. The reception was better than we dreamed of. Guests enjoyed having drinks outside and coming inside to dance or hear the band. I love the fact that we made good use of all the space and it was a nice change of pace from the usual "ballroom" type venues. I love how the Ingenhuett offers uniqueness while still maintaining functionality! I would highly recommend the Ingenhuett on High to any couple looking for a wedding venue. You won't be let down!
The Ingenhuett was perfect for our daughter's reception. The beautifully restored historic building provides a timeless romantic feel. We used both the indoor and partially cover...
ed outdoor areas and found it flowed nicely. The koi pond in the center of the outdoor area is a unique feature. Acoustics were great for the band. The girls had plenty of room to get ready on the upstairs floor complete with vanities and balcony. The "basement" is another cool space that could be used - we used it for the guys to hang before the wedding. Parking was a breeze and there are some charming bed and breakfasts in the area for guests- several within walking distance. The onsite coordinator worked so well with us and with our planner to ensure everything went smoothly. I was truly able to let go and enjoy the celebration as they tended to all the details. Priceless memories!
