Samantha was incredible. She was very communicative before the wedding, and her packages and pricing are reasonable and easy to understand. She took her cues from us and was comfortable following our lead or directing us, based on our comfort level and what we asked of her. We had some specific ideas for engagement and wedding photos, but asked her to take the lead past that, and she did not disappoint! The photos are absolutely incredible, and we couldn't be happier. Based on how wonderful Samantha was to work with and the quality and number of photos we received, we will definitely consider Initial Impressions for anniversary and/or family photos in the future!

Initial Impressions was phenomenal! They were incredibly flexible with minor changes throughout the day and were kind to every guest that interacted with them. Not to mention, the photos were both amazing and timely!

I knew Samantha would do a fantastic job based on my past experience with having photos taken by her before, I knew I could leave the creativeness of the photos completely in her hand- she knew the best places for the premium shots bc she has worked my venue before. She used the weather (very windy day) to our advantage and positioned us accordingly- She got meaningful shots that I didn't even ask for- and she encompassed a passage out of our vows to get me the one perfect shot I wanted-

Samantha was amazing. We worked with her for 3 different sessions; engagement photos, elopement, and full ceremony and reception. She was beyond professional and timely right from the start with the inquiring and planning process. She has tons of patience when it comes to even week of wedding changes! She was even helpful in planning a shot list and having tons of organization with group shots. Her and her partner were both great at giving guidance and boosting up confidence! They will make anyone look comfortable behind the camera even if they are not. I will forever always recommend them!

Sam is the absolute best! She was patient, thoughtful, and reassuring. She suggested cute photo poses and options we would have never thought of! An absolute expert in her field. You will not be disappointed choosing her.

We could not be happier with our decision to use Initial Impressions for our wedding last month. Right away I knew we had made a good choice because of how quickly Samantha replied to my initial questions, and our communication remained quick and smooth throughout the planning process, which was very important to me. She helped answer all of my questions and guided us when we weren't sure of anything. Her help in planning the "day of" schedule was wonderful, as I had no idea what I was doing. Samantha and Katie were wonderful on our wedding day. Everything ran so smoothly, in large part due to them, and we all felt so comfortable with them. And our pictures! Oh my goodness, they turned out even better than I thought they would! We love them so much. There is a good mix of candid pictures throughout the afternoon and evening, as well as beautiful posed ones. We wanted photos that looked natural and captured who we are as a couple, and Samantha got that perfectly! If you're considering hiring her, just do it, you won't regret it. I cannot say enough good things about our photographer Samantha. She was the the right choice from the very beginning. Neither my husband nor I have had professional pictures taken in a very long time and we aren't big on having our pictures taken in general, but I wanted our day to be special. Samantha was responsive, professional, and very helpful throughout the planning process. When it came time for our big day, she and Katie made sure everything went smoothly and assured me we had plenty of time when we were, of course, running late! We were very comfortable with both of them and I think our pictures reflect that! We received our pictures less than 6 weeks after the wedding and they are amazing!

We ADORE Initial Impressions. From fixing a failing fake eyelash to handling my drunken wife and in-laws, Samantha handled everything with good humor and professionalism. We even changed first look location due the heat and the photos are wonderful. She captured all of moments uniquely but also captured exactly how we were feeling, full of love, joy, and a bit of the inebriated. We had so much fun and cannot wait to find another reason for Samantha and her team to capture our next special moment.

Sams work is phenomenal! Loved all the pictures she captured on my wedding day! She had the best ideas and even picked out an awesome place to take pictures of my husband and I! She put in a 100% to make sure we were satisfied with our pictures and she didn’t disappoint!

Samantha from Initial Impressions was very professional, friendly, and fun! We were nervous but we followed her lead and she made us feel very comfortable while taking beautiful shots. We had a few ideas of what we wanted and not only did she listen to us and make it happen (no matter how difficult), she did it with enthusiasm. And our pictures turned out better than I even imagined. She made taking our engagement photos such a fun and memorable experience!

WOW. I cannot say enough good things about Initial Impressions!!! First and foremost, Samantha Tomblin is a truly gifted photographer. She has a great eye for finding locations / backgrounds to fit the overall theme of your wedding, balancing the photos both in color and structure, and bringing out the absolute best in those being photographed. I have had pictures taken before when I felt uncomfortable or awkward with the person behind the lens... not so with Samantha. She is friendly, personable and very accommodating. Before the big day we sat down together and discussed what I was looking for in my wedding photos and the overall "feel" of my wedding (which was vintage 1950's). She was invested in what I had to say and wrote thorough notes throughout the conversation. I really felt like I was being heard, which puts a bride's mind at ease when she's juggling a million other thoughts and decisions at a time! When the day came Samantha was no different. She was on top of things, always in the right place at the right time. She not only took great ceremony / family photos, but snapped so many amazing candids at the reception, even staying late to make sure she got what she needed. She kept on a schedule throughout the day and moved family pictures along which was great, considering my husband and I both have large families. Throughout organizing relatives and keeping everyone on task she was courteous, kind and professional. I had small children in my wedding as flower girls and a ring bearer who can be particularly shy, but Samantha was very sweet and patient with them and made them completely at ease. This girl laid on the ground, got up on chairs and even climbed through some particularly tall prairie grass to get the perfect shot(s)! When it came time for pictures with my husband and I, she took her time and really captured our personalities and love on film. Within a week after the wedding she sent me a few early proofs she had edited which were absolutely AMAZING and only made me more excited to see the rest! Which, I may add, she completed in 8 weeks. (I know she can take up to 12 if she's particularly busy, but I promise you they will be worth it). Not only were all of the photos fantastic, they had the vintage vibe I had been going for all along! She absolutely nailed it. I had a truly amazing experience with Initial Impressions and I am so glad I asked Samantha to be a part of our special day! If you choose her, you will NOT regret it!!!!
