Her help in planning the "day of" schedule was wonderful, as I had no idea what I was doing. Samantha and Katie were wonderful on our wedding day. Everything ran so smoothly, in large part due to them, and we all felt so comfortable with them. And our pictures! Oh my goodness, they turned out even better than I thought they would! We love them so much. There is a good mix of candid pictures throughout the afternoon and evening, as well as beautiful posed ones. We wanted photos that looked natural and captured who we are as a couple, and Samantha got that perfectly! If you're considering hiring her, just do it, you won't regret it. I have had pictures taken before when I felt uncomfortable or awkward with the person behind the lens... not so with Samantha. She is friendly, personable and very accommodating. Before the big day we sat down together and discussed what I was looking for in my wedding photos and the overall "feel" of my wedding (which was vintage 1950's). She was invested in what I had to say and wrote thorough notes throughout the conversation. I really felt like I was being heard, which puts a bride's mind at ease when she's juggling a million other thoughts and decisions at a time! When the day came Samantha was no different. She was on top of things, always in the right place at the right time. She not only took great ceremony / family photos, but snapped so many amazing candids at the reception, even staying late to make sure she got what she needed. She kept on a schedule throughout the day and moved family pictures along which was great, considering my husband and I both have large families. Throughout organizing relatives and keeping everyone on task she was courteous, kind and professional. I had small children in my wedding as flower girls and a ring bearer who can be particularly shy, but Samantha was very sweet and patient with them and made them completely at ease. This girl laid on the ground, got up on chairs and even climbed through some particularly tall prairie grass to get the perfect shot(s)! When it came time for pictures with my husband and I, she took her time and really captured our personalities and love on film. Within a week after the wedding she sent me a few early proofs she had edited which were absolutely AMAZING and only made me more excited to see the rest! Which, I may add, she completed in 8 weeks. (I know she can take up to 12 if she's particularly busy, but I promise you they will be worth it). Not only were all of the photos fantastic, they had the vintage vibe I had been going for all along! She absolutely nailed it. I had a truly amazing experience with Initial Impressions and I am so glad I asked Samantha to be a part of our special day! If you choose her, you will NOT regret it!!!!
