We loved Crestwood! They have a beautiful patio that looks out directly onto the blue ridge mtn range--it's a breathtaking view! Unfortunately, it was raining/flooding the entire weekend of our wedding so we ended up having our ceremony and reception inside their dining room instead, but we LOVED it! The huge wall of windows still gives you the view of the beautiful mountains and they are so picturesque!
It was certainly warmer inside when we squeezed all our guests in for dancing and such but it was easier to dance on wood floors than on brick patio. And we still had plenty of space for dancing!
Kim, the manager we dealt with most, could not have been any better! Honestly. So professional and so helpful throughout the entire planning process (and we did not use a planner--just my mom & I communicated with her).
We loved every bit of our experience with Crestwood.
We used their grandfather suite as both a bridal suite for the girls & kids to get ready in on the day of the wedding and as a honeymoon suite for my husband and I that night. It was perfect.
The food was great, drinks were great, views were phenomenal and we were married at the end of the day so it could not have gone any better!
Highly recommend Crestwood if you're looking for a beautiful wedding in the Boone area.
!!!BRIDES BEWARE!!!
I had to do a complete venue/city change six months before my wedding because the staff at the Inn at Crestwood did not communicate properly amongst themselves or with me. Rather than own their mistakes and refund my $3500 deposit, they tried to give me the venue left overs to ‘make-do’. Please read to the end before you book any wedding event with Crestwood.
I received a room block addendum on February 23rd from Vanessa, and the end of her email said “You may start making reservations at any time"! The room block was for the 15 Inn rooms and 4 cottages. At no point during any in-person, phone, or email correspondence did anyone from Crestwood tell me that the Room Block Addendum had to be signed and returned. Based on the information in Vanessa’s email and everything I had been told up to that point, I thought myself and my wedding guests had until March 16, 2017 to book our rooms for the wedding weekend.
I found out the day before Thanksgiving, 2016, that most of my room block had ‘accidentally’ been given to the Friday and Sunday weddings. My first reaction that day was, OMG, you’re going to have to call all those other people and tell them you’ve made a mistake and they can’t have those rooms, to which Vanessa responded “well they’ve already paid for those rooms, and you haven’t paid for any, so we can’t do that, and we have no signed room block addendum for you”. I was crying at this point, at my desk at work, the day before Thanksgiving, and I told Vanessa that if the rooms were at risk of being blocked by other weddings due to lack of a signed addendum, the right thing to do prior to giving them away would have been to call or email me.
After speaking with my now husband and my parents, I realized that it was unfair to ask other couples to make sacrifices on their wedding weekend to rectify mistakes and poor management decisions made by Crestwood. I also felt that my wedding at Crestwood would never be what I originally planned or pictured because of what happened, and for the above reasons, we decided to just move the whole wedding. I shared these points with Vanessa and told her that I would like a refund of our $3500 deposit.
Rather than take ownership of their mistakes, Vanessa/Management/Owners went on the defensive and got extremely rude. They said that 1) had I sent the room block addendum back, we wouldn’t be in this position, and 2) they felt they had been more than accommodating by offering to give me two free rooms where we could get ready, and by calling the other brides to try to get rooms back from them. They said that they would only refund our money IF someone booked the spaces we had planned to use on our wedding day.
We still haven’t seen a penny of our $3,500 deposit. We had to pay an additional $2k for travel/lodging for vendors that we had already signed agreements with in Boone to travel to our new venue. And maybe the worst part of the whole ordeal is the stress and anxiety of having to move my entire wedding, all while being blamed by Crestwood for what was happening. I work in the customer service industry and fully acknowledge that sometimes stuff happens. There are bad employees, transitions can be hard, but it’s how a business handles these mistakes and hard times that really matter. If Crestwood had honored my wish for a refund, I could at least say they did the right thing and best that they could with this horrible mix up. Please take your business elsewhere
My now husband and I fell in love with Crestwood as soon as we saw it but now that our wedding has passed we love it even more! The staff (especially Vanessa) were amazing and made sure our weekend was perfect. It was so nice to have majority of our guests stay on site and the suites where the wedding party got ready in were so perfect. We had our ceremony on the terrace and reception on the lawn where we had a large tent brought in. It was so perfect, a dream weekend!
