My husband, Billy Clarke and I had our wedding reception at Sherrill's Inn in September of 1996. He grew up there with 2 sisters and 5 brothers. There were frequent visitors for meals and overnight visits. The family operated a dairy farm, apple orchards and raised chickens, pigs, and cattle. Visitors were often put to work on the farm and in the huge family garden. The house and grounds are in a beautiful setting with much of the original landscaping designed by Elspeth McClure , Billy's grandmother. Cold mountain water on the property still runs through the "Spring House" used in pre-refrigeration days to keep fresh milk and produce cool.
The bride and her party dressing room is known as the Pink Room with a private bathroom. Groomsmen can get dressed in the Green Room.
