This review is 4+ years overdue but I wanted to still do it as my experience was absolutely wonderful. Cantor Berris and Reverend Gambuzza officiated my wedding in December 2017. My husband is Catholic and I am Jewish. When we set out to find an officiant/officiants we initially hit multiple roadblocks. And then we found the Interfaith Clergy Network who were happy to help us make our wedding ceremony everything we wanted it to be. I can't begin to express my gratitude to the Cantor and Reverend for the beautiful and poignant ceremony they created. They employed the best parts of both religious ceremonies in a style that was comfortable, meaningful, and memorable for both families and all of the guests. Not to mention that they were super organized and responsive. I would give them 10 stars if I could. Thank you so much!!!
My husband is Jewish and I am Catholic. Although neither of us are particularly religious, it was important to us that we incorporated and honored each of our traditions. Cantor Berris was excellent; we had several meetings to discuss exactly how we wanted our ceremony and what traditions were important to us. We were able to choose beautiful readings, and Cantor Berris and Rev. Gambuzza made sure to incorporate our personal family mementos, such as the family chuppah, throughout our ceremony. We could not have asked for a more beautiful marriage ceremony! — Sara and Steve
I am Catholic and my now husband is Jewish. It was really important for us to incorporate both of our faiths into our wedding ceremony, as neither of us is converting. Through the Interfaith Clergy Network, we were paired with Rabbi Tobin and Fr. Gross to preform our ceremony TOGETHER. Words can't express how beautiful the ceremony was, with both traditions and practices being combined and shared. Our guests have genuinely not stopped talking about how beautiful and wonderful it was. For example, we had the chuppah, broke glass, and drank from the Kiddish up, while also saying the Lord's prayer, lighting the candles, and reading from the New Testament. Prior to the actual ceremony, both Rabbi Tobin and Fr. Gross worked with us to tailor it to meet our needs and wants. They spent time getting to know us. Fr. Gross came all the way to NYC from Boston to have dinner with us. We shared countless facetimes and phone calls working with Rabbi Tobin and getting to know him. They made our day so perfect. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
Canter Berris truly made our ceremony, the most important part of the wedding, be filled with love, honesty and just perfect. We met with him multiple times during our engagement where he offered advice, and took the time to get to know us as a couple. The ceremony was crafted around what was important to us as an interfaith couple, and he and Father Dan overdelivered in every way possible.
WOW, Cantor Neil did such an incredible job at our ceremony!! He is so well spoken and just such a nice person. He really is interested in getting to know you and hearing what context you want to be part of your ceremony. He is so personable and easy to work with! If you are looking for someone to do your interfaith marriage, stop now and pick Cantor Neil, you will not be disappointed!
Cantor Berris and Monsignor Rusconi prosides over our wedding in October and did an absolutely beautiful job! They perfectly blended the ceremony to make it warm and inviting for everyone and it was just the perfect day. We couldn't have asked for a better Jewish/catholic ceremony!
When planning our wedding we knew the hardest part would be finding someone to officiate our ceremony, we were looking for someone that understand our values, cultures and beliefs when it comes to being a catholic and jewish couple. We found the perfect person with Cantor Neil and with his help Fr Rusconi. Our ceremony blended the two faiths perfectly with Fr Rusconi even signing our Kettubah!!
Interfaith Clergy Network is an absolutely amazing company that I would highly recommend. Cantor Berris and Monsignor Rusconni worked hand in hand to put on an incredible ceremony. Months prior to the wedding my now husband and I met with Cantor Berris, and also skyped with him on a few occasions. Not only did Cantor Berris and Monsignor Rusconni provide us with a ceremony that our friends and family cannot stop talking about, they also made it very easy for us to have the Jewish/Catholic mixed wedding that we desired! Thanks so much Interfaith Clergy Network :) We would love to work together again in the future.
Neil Cantor Berris officiated our May 2016 Wedding and we were very happy we chose him to be part of our wedding day. He was very responsive leading up to the wedding and made us comfortable knowing that he would officiate our ceremony. On the day of, he showed up early and was fully prepared, he had everything under control and the ceremony was amazing. He did a great job and our guests all commented on how much they enjoyed the ceremony. I would definitely recommend Interfaith Clergy Network.
We HIGHLY recommend the Interfaith Clergy Network for your interfaith wedding. My husband is Catholic and I am Jewish - Cantor Berris and Monsignor Rusconi were the dream team. There are not enough positive things we can say about them. First of all, let me explain that even though they live in NJ and NY they traveled to Bensalem, PA to marry us (we got married at the Pen Ryn Mansion there). We also got married on a holiday weekend (July 3, 2016) and that was not a problem for them at all. They were both such a pleasure to work with. They individually met with us and spent an enormous amount of time getting to know us and reviewing what we wanted for our ceremony. They also communicated with us frequently throughout the planning process and were responsive with email & phone. On the day of the wedding, they were prompt, professional, and beyond friendly. They did an excellent job of incorporating the Jewish and Catholic traditions into one ceremony. Our guests raved about the ceremony and were touched by the personalization and traditions demonstrated by Cantor Berris and Monsignor Rusconi. Additionally, Cantor Berris did a beautiful job with the Ketubah signing and made that such a memorable moment for us in the midst of everything. Of note, my husband also received the Sacrament of Marriage from the Catholic church, which was extremely important to him. Monsignor Rusconi did an AMAZING job of getting approval from the Arch Dioceses of Philadelphia to marry us and taking care of all necessary paperwork. When we returned from our two-week honeymoon, the marriage license was waiting for us in the mail (which he had already taken care of). You can tell Cantor Berris and Monsignor Rusconi have a great working relationship and that they truly believe in marrying two people, regardless of their faiths. Our ceremony was a dream come true and we highly recommend them for your interfaith wedding. We hope that we can use them again in the future for other events!!!
Intefaith Clergy Network came to my husband and I as a recommendation from my cousin who used the organization years back. We couldn’t be happier with how our ceremony turned out. Cantor Neil Berris was such a pleasure to work with from the very start of our engagement all the way to our wedding day. Cantor Berris and Reverend Russel Ditzel did an amazing job incorporating both of our religions into our wedding ceremony. Many of our guests said it was the best interfaith ceremony they have attended with a great balance of our religions. Both Cantor and Reverend took the time to sit down during stages of planning to discuss different aspects of our ceremony and they always made it a priority to listen to what we wanted. Unfortunately, 9 months prior to our wedding, our family suffered a tragic loss and Cantor Berris was there for us immediately in person for support, which shows just how genuine of a person he is. Interfaith Clergy Network is the way to go!
I could not be happier than writing this review in this moment thanks to the wonderful help given by the Interfaith Clergy Network in creating the wedding celebration of my dreams. Planning a wedding ceremony can be challenging, now try adding two religious affiliations with completely unique traditions. Cantor Berris and Msgn Rusconi have created a wonderful symbiosis in the Catholic and Jewish interfaith wedding. I have been getting so many compliments by all of our family members they cant stop saying how unique and touching it was. I would recommend this wonderful group to anyone striving to create a unique, special and unifying wedding experience.
Cantor Neil and Deacon Rich at Interfaith Clergy Network made our ceremony incredibly special by combining parts of both my and my wife's religious backgrounds. In meeting with them prior to the wedding, we could tell they truly cared about the success of our marriage -- that was very important to us and it shone through in the amazing ceremony. Multiple people told us this was the best wedding ceremony they had ever experienced and Interfaith Clergy is the reason for that.
My husband and I were resigned to the fact that when we got married we would both have to sacrifice aspects of our Jewish and Catholic faiths. We nixed a church wedding and started looking for a priest and rabbi to do a joint ceremony. The results were disastrous and we started looking into non-denominational ministers. Luckily, a friend reached out with a recommendation...Interfaith Clergy Network.
We quickly jumped on a call with Cantor Neil Berris. It all seemed too good to be true after weeks of dead ends. Even our parents were super skeptical. But after meeting in person with Cantor Berris and Reverend Richard Rusconi we knew it was exactly as promised.
We worked with Cantor Berris on the ceremony script, weaving in both jewish and christian traditions, and the Ketubah. In the meantime, Reverend Rusconi worked on our dispensation with the Catholic Church, which was particularly important to my family and something we never dreamed of getting, and the marriage license.
As many couples know, there’s a lot that goes into planning a wedding, but Cantor Berris and Reverend Rusconi made their part very easy for us. By the time, the wedding day arrived, we had put our trust in their hands and had to see how it went. The result? One of the most beautiful ceremonies, in my humble opinion. The two worked together as if they had been friends all of their lives, expertly explaining different aspects of our faiths. Two months later, we’re still receiving compliments on the ceremony. They were an absolute hit, but more importantly they represented everything that our interfaith relationship stands for.
It took my husband and I a while to find an officiant/officiants that truly understood us and what we were looking for in our wedding ceremony. We wanted a pair that would represent both our faiths (I'm Catholic and he's Jewish), and honor the unique union we have together. That is exactly what we found in Cantor Berris and Father Ditzel. They were amazing from our first phone call to the day of! My favorite part about working with them was that they took great care in getting to know us individually and as a couple in order to accurate represent us on the big day. Everything was exactly how we wanted it, and both Cantor Berris and Father Ditzel were extremely reassuring throughout the entire process. After the ceremony everyone came up to us saying how beautiful it was, and how they wished they had incorporated their different faiths into their service like we had. It was simply the best. I feel so lucky to have found them to officiate on our big day!
I have never before attended a wedding where everyone had so many genuine compliments about the ceremony! The first thing guests said to us was that the ceremony was so beautiful and the officiants, Cantor Neil Berris and Monsignor Richard Rusconi, were amazing, sweet and even funny. Catholics, Jewish people and even non-religious people all loved the way our traditions were combined so smoothly, beautifully and with respect. No one left feeling that one side was favored or disrespected. Not only were our guests pleased and entertained, but more importantly, my husband and I and our families were so touched by the officiants kind words and demeanor, and the overall loveliness of the ceremony.
Before finding Interfaith Clergy online, my fiancé and I were nervous about finding Catholic and Jewish officiants who would work together to help us create a meaningful ceremony that combined the religious traditions that are so important to us and our families. I had spoken to the priest at my church and I was very unhappy with his attitude. My fiance’s rabbi was ill and we did not know another rabbi to turn to. While googling interfaith weddings we found this service online and I was somewhat skeptical about using a service of people that I did not know for something so personal. However, right away the communications from Cantor Berris showed me that he is a good person who really wants to help people. He traveled to meet with us at my parent’s house and we were all very pleased with our meeting. He asked us about our relationship and things that were important to us in a ceremony. He recommended that Monsignor Rusconi would be a good Catholic representative for our ceremony, so we met with him next. He also traveled to meet us at Steve’s parent’s house. Monsignor Rusconi is equally as wonderful, and he assured me that our marriage would be officially recognized by the Catholic Church. He is a retired monsignor, and is in good standing with the Roman Catholic Church. After our ceremony he quickly got us all of the papers showing our dispensation from the bishop, and our Catholic marriage certificate.
We were very happy and comfortable after meeting with both officiants, and after booking their services we continued to receive regular communications from them. Whenever I had a question we would always receive a speedy answer. Cantor Berris helped us answer a lot of questions about Jewish traditions, in particular he helped us find beautiful ketubahs from artist Karla Gudeon. Monsignor Rusconi helped us make sure all of our marriage license paperwork was in order.
From the minute we first communicated with our officiants to the ceremony itself, my husband and I were so happy and relieved that we found such kind, open-minded religious figures to marry us. Together with our families, we highly recommend Interfaith Clergy to officiate interfaith weddings. Thanks to Cantor Berris and Monsignor Rusconi we had a beautiful, memorable, religious ceremony that families, friends, and my husband and I will always happily remember.
Cantor Neil Berris allowed us to personalize the ceremony as we chose. He met with us at our home to discuss everything! He was personabale, great and always had a smile!
We had a few guests tell us that he was the best they've seen!
Thanks for everything!!
Rabbi Berris is a great man and really knows this business! I was struggling with pleasing both my Catholic family and my fiance's Jewish family. I wanted a 50/50 Catholic/Jewish ceremony to symbolize how we were brought up. Rabbi Berris suggested a wonderful split ceremony that catered to both religions beautifully! He was extremely organized, followed up with me several times throughout the process and was so incredibly helpful! I was so thankful to find him on the knot.com! The ceremony was beautiful and we received many compliments from both Catholic attendees and Jewish attendees. Mission accomplished!
It was difficult to find religious officiants to perform our interfaith wedding. We felt very comfortable with Interfaith and they gave us a beautiful ceremony that all our guests loved. They take care of all the paperwork afterwards too!
Working with the Rabbi and Father was such a nice experience. They were so helpful in choosing the right ceremony to use for both of our faiths. They together performed the most beautiful Interfaith Ceremony!
I can't tell you how much my husband and I and all our guests enjoyed the interfaith ceremony performed by Dr. Joe and Rabbi Berris. It was definitely our favorite part of the wedding and everyone commented on how special it was. From the time we first met Dr. Joe in October to our wedding in June, we always felt a special connection with him. During our initial meeting, he really took the time to get to know us and learn about our relationship. And because he’s also a licensed therapist, you get a sense that he’s really listening while also providing meaningful insights. I hope our relationship with him continues for years to come.
I can't tell you how many of our guests thought our ceremony was perfect. I loved that our rabbi and priest mixed both faiths in a very respectful manner. I was worried we wouldn't be able to find someone that was able to unite both religions. But they went above and beyond their services.
Interfaith clergy makes coordinating an interfaith ceremony easy and stress-free. However, I wish we would've interviewed more rabbis. We went with the first one who was assigned to us and she was a little bit wacky, talked to much, and was all about her.
I am Jewish and my Wife is Catholic and we chose to have an interfaith ceremony to cover all angles. After researching a few interfaith Rabbi's I came across Rabbi Berris of Interfiath Clergy..after speaking with him he came to meet us in person and as it turned out he was very close to the priest who would be co-officiating are wedding. Hence making this the perfect match. The Rabbi did a fantastic job and the service covered both faiths as we expected and brought traditions from both sides too.
Thank You again!!
We contacted Interfaith Clergy for an officiant for our wedding and was matched with Rabbi Claire Green. She was absolutely wonderful! I'm not religious and she made me feel incredibly comfortable with the more religious aspects of the wedding. We had considered eloping before meeting our Rabbi but are glad we didn't. She has become more than just our officiant, she has become a friend and a spiritual adviser for the rest of our lives.
Officiants: Rabbi Shimon Berris and Fr Francis Miaone, www.interfaithclergynetwork.org
There was a bit of confusion, as the rabbi started to do a reading that wasn’t part of our ceremony and the priest almost skipped the offering of peace, but in the end, as they simultaneously pronounced us husband and wife, it was clear how well they worked together. Our ceremony was really beautiful and they even had a sense of humor; Todd added a vow of his own, after reciting the vows we planned on, Todd added “and I vow to always be your lifetime tech support” and both Rabbi Berris and Father Maione laughed right along with the rest of the congregation. Our ceremony was beautiful and it was exactly as we wanted. People still talk about how well our ceremony blended our traditions and how personal it was!
