Interfaith Marriages is a wedding officiant service helping those in Washington DC celebrate their love. Owner Dr. Mike Ghouse welcomes you and your partner to the aisle. He celebrates your chosen path in life and belief system by helping you to create a ceremony that speaks to your true self. Dr. Mike Ghouse is an experienced officiant who wears many hats. In addition to helping couples exchange vows, he is also a public speaker, organizer, writer, and more. As you might imagine, he is a gifted orator whose ceremonies captivate those in attendance. Most importantly, Mike is a pluralist in his outlook on life. This means he welcomes couples from diverse religious backgrounds, or none, as well as same-sex couples. He believes that the unity between two individuals in love is greater than many belief systems, and celebrates this in full. Interfaith Marriages presents you with a range of services to help you celebrate a personal ceremony. Mike invites you to get in touch and discuss your vision for your big day. He will then work with you and your partner to carefully and considerately craft a service that combines your faiths and outlooks on life. Marriage is the most important milestone of your love relationship; indeed, it expresses a commitment to the connection between you two. When you take the bold step to become one regardless of your origins, faiths, races, cultures, and ethnicities, you must be appreciated and applauded. You are setting a new standard on how-to live-in harmony despite your inherent differences. You are practicing genuine pluralism, i.e., respecting the otherness of the other and accepting the given (God/Nature) uniqueness. Marriage is a union of two individuals for happiness and harmonious living. Every living organism has a built-in GPS that brings two individuals together, and from a religious perspective, it is the creator who puts love between two individuals. I am blessed to have officiated secular and religious ceremonies incorporating both the couple's traditions with their respective input and final approval. Whether it is Jewish-Christian, Hindu-Christian, Bahai-Jewish, Hindu-Jewish, Atheist-Jain, or other combinations, the bride and groom and their families feel elated and enjoy the sense of marriage in full. As an Indian American, it has been my pleasure to have officiated weddings amongst Hindus, Christians, and Muslims in various combinations.
