International Grand Ballroom

Sophie and discussing the menus and amazing services offered, we fell in love. Sophie and Derrick were so helpful leading up to the event and always responded to even the smallest questions in a prompt manner. When the reception came, the staff perfectly executed our requests for decor and other items. Furthermore, the food was excellent. Many guests commented on how perfectly cooked the filet was and how flavorful everything was. The staff is so friendly and invested in making your event everything you want it to be. We are so happy we chose the International Ballroom and only wish we could host another event there soon!

It truly made us feel so special and was the perfect way to kick off our wedding weekend. The staff was available and supportive to not only us, but all of our friends and family all weekend long. Corey, in particular, took amazing care of us and checked in regularly to make sure that we didn't need anything. He also helped us get everything (and there was a lot) from our suite and loaded into our car. The reception was beyond what we could have hoped for! Sophie was there for us every step of the way! She worked with us to accommodate the variety of requests we had and offered prompt responses and willingness to answer any question. She truly took a lot of stress out of this process. Everyone, no matter what their dietary requirements were, sang the praises of the food. We received so much feedback about how it was the best food anyone has had at a wedding, and the dessert bar included in the package was a hit! People loved the cocktail hour and felt there was plenty of space. The whole team at the Ballroom was amazing to our guests! The bar staff was wonderful! No one ever had to struggle to get a drink which is really impressive with a wedding as big as ours was (280). They went the extra mile all night long! The gentleman who helped oversee our event was amazing. He helped us get some amazing rooftop photos, assisted with anything anyone needed all night long, and was with my husband and I until we went to the beautiful complimentary suite at night. He was absolutely amazing. The International Grand Ballroom staff really helped us have the wedding of our dreams, and was worth every bit of investment we made into this day. We cannot thank them enough!

om managed to feel intimate, even with that many guests. Sophie (manager) was awesome to work with, and I really felt like she wanted me to love my wedding! Derrick (bar manager/reception captain) really looked out for us on the wedding day. We had a last minute crisis with an outside vendor, and Derrick took care of it for us - no questions asked. He managed the reception perfectly, and he came to bring water and drinks for my husband and I all night! Our guests loved the food and the room, and we danced all night! The view was great and it was nice to have the attached hotel.

We held both our ceremony and reception at the venue and having the balcony for cocktail hour was perfect. The food and dessert table was outstanding! We would definitely recommend Sophia, her staff, and the Atheneum Hotel for a wedding location.

yline. We had the opportunity to sit down prior to the wedding for a tasting with the chef and Sophie who presented us with three exceptional choices. Their culinary expertise provided our guests with an exquisite seasonal salad and delicious duo entree that all of our guests enjoyed. The wedding cake, which was also prepared on the premises was simply elegant.One word for the sweet table; Amazing! This staff addressed every detail, from the folded napkins, placement of table numbers , menus and candles, bathroom accessories and more to set the tone of a truly remarkable evening. Having the luxury of staying at the hotel, which provided shuttle service ,valet parking, and walking accessibility to the vibrant Greektown was just an added bonus. No need for bringing in your own wedding coordinator, they do it all! So happy we chose this venue!

We have gotten so many compliments from our guests about how beautiful the venue was, how great the food was, and that the service staff was excellent!

. Lauren Kloock was our contact and she was very responsive on all of my emails and random questions throughout the process! Although on the expensive side, my guests really enjoyed their stay at the hotel! The hotel also provided free valet for my wedding guests (those who were not staying at the hotel) which was an awesome benefit being downtown with limited parking. I upgraded my room to have the Senator's suite for the weekend of the wedding and I am so glad I made that decision. It made it super easy for my bridal party to get hair/makeup done the morning of without feeling too crowded. Overall, we had a great stay and want to thank the team for their service! Our reception was held on the 8th floor at the International Banquet Center. My husband and I were blown away by how beautiful this venue was! The two story room was perfect for our ~230 guests. It included a cocktail hour on the balcony and the guests watched our first dance from upstairs which made for some awesome pictures! There were so many amazing aspects of this venue that it's hard to even list them all! The city views from the venue are incredible, the space is very flexible and open, the food is delicious, the dessert bar was AMAZING (our guests loved it), the rooftop for evening photos was fun and unique and the staff was incredibly responsive and helpful. As a bride, you always want to be able to get in contact with your vendors. Sophie was always very responsive - even if it was a late night reply to my email to say she'd get back with me in the morning. Any changes I wanted for the evening she was very accommodating. The venue also provides you a wonderful setting to taste test the food with your fiance and up to 4 additional guests (our parents loved it). During the actual wedding, the staff continued the great customer service! Derrick was there with us the entire night and was absolutely amazing!! He made sure we had everything we needed and helped us take advantage of all the great perks of the venue like the rooftop photos. Emanuel served the bridal party at the captain's table and he did a fantastic job! He was super attentive, quick to get us anything we needed and had such a positive attitude! Overall, we are so glad we made the choice to have our reception at the IBC. It was on the expensive side compared to a few other venues (but not the most expensive option in Detroit) but it was 110% worth every penny! Thank you to Sophie, Derrick and their team!

I would recommend every bride to have their reception here. I'm pretty sure every single woman that attended our wedding now has their eyes set on this gem! Everything was simply fabulous! he wrap around balcony. We held both our ceremony and reception there. After the ceremony, the guests went to the upper balcony as the hall was 'flipped' for the reception. We are very happy with our choice. The food was wonderful, and the service from everyone involved was great.

and the room definitely had the "wow factor" that we were looking for. Our guests enjoyed cocktails and appetizers upstairs, looking out on Detroit and over our reception venue. The food was delicious and the staff went out of their way to ensure that our guests were comfortable and enjoying themselves. The packages are endless and I think some of the best around, we found that we got more food, more drinks, more bang for our buck with the International Grand Ballroom. I would recommend them over and over again!
