Just as its name suggests, Ipanema Restaurant is an architectural interpretation of Rio De Janeiro's sandy shores and an ode to the tropical tastes of its Brazilian-Portuguese cuisine. Its elaborate wooden flooring and accents emanate the feel of a beachside villa, while the exotic plants plotted around the room are reminiscent of Brazil and Portugal's ever-flourishing seaside flora. The restaurant can also accommodate large parties of up to 60 guests, with two dining rooms and a vibey cocktail lounge overlooking 36th Street.

t at Ipanema was that the restaurant is already so beautifully designed we didn't spend anything extra on decor. There were so many cute spots already built-in for photos including the gorgeous bar area and the dinning booths which have a really fun sexy vibe.
The food was obviously amazing thanks to the Head Chef Giancarlo but I also have to say every member of the staff really went above and beyond. We started with a private dinner for just our families and close friends in the private dining room in the back and then transitioned to a 60 person open bar party in the main dining area. From the waiters who served us dinner to all the bartenders, everybody was very attentive and really made us feel special. My mom felt especially taken care of and the staff really made her feel like a VIP which felt so worth it.
We had two bartenders for the open bar portion and they served a limited cocktail menu we decided on the events manager ahead of time. The bartenders were super fast and efficient and absolutely no line or trouble getting a drink. The canapés were also super delicious and you can choose from an extensive menu.
Cannot recommend doing an engagement or wedding party at Ipanema enough!
