We could not have been happier with our wedding cake made by Irene. She made the cake exactly the way I dreamed it would be. She provided literally EVERY single option possible during her tasting, which was really awesome. And not only was the cake beautiful, but DELICIOUS. I am already looking forward to our first anniversary so we can eat the topper we saved! We would work with Irene again in a heartbeat. We 100% without any hesitation recommend Irene's Cakes by Design.

Irene did an amazing job working with me to create one of the most delicious cakes I've ever had! Irene emailed me back and forth working not only on our wedding cake but also on a surprise grooms cake for my husband. My hubby is not big into cake so Irene created an R2D2 Cake out of brownies! She understood exactly what I had wanted and was able to create an adorable R2D2 in a Tux!! My husband was surprised and our guest were all dazzled by the wonderful job Irene had done. The only thing I was upset about was that Irene makes her brownies with walnuts, something that was not discussed with me. This would not usually be a big deal but I myself am allergic to Nuts, So I could not taste the grooms cake, but I was fine with just eating more of our delicious wedding cake!

Irene made a cake for our fall wedding at Amee Farm that was both visually stunning and absolutely delicious. We got so many compliments! Thanks Irene!

Irene is incredible! She was able to help us plan our dream cake for our destination wedding. She sent us cake samples to help us pick our flavor, and worked with us to create an amazing red, black and white cake with sugar flowers cascading down it. Irene is so talented and creative! She was so easy to work with and answered any questions we had about our cake. The best part? She delivered the cake to our venue, despite it being over an hour from our venue! Everyone loved the cake and was surprised by how beautiful it was! :) Our cake was delicious - we had a white chocolate cake with raspberry filling! (We're still enjoying it on our honeymoon!)

We selected Irene's Cakes by Design after tastings with several local vendors. As a professional chef myself, I can say that I am very hard to please. The tasting with Irene was extensive, with each flavor of cake, filling, and icing more delicious than the last. She was very adept at guiding us through the tasting and design process, and gave us a very reasonable quote within a few days. The day of the wedding, delivery was prompt and the cake was absolutely beautiful. My husband and I could not have been happier, and all our guests were incredibly impressed. Definitely the best choice for wedding cakes in the area!

LOTS of options at the tasting and we had so many people tell us it was the best cake they've ever had- we agree! She also copied a design we found online and it looked exactly like we requested when it showed up, we loved it!!

Bought a small wedding cake and seperate groom's cake from Irene. Since I live out of state I had to set up everything via phone and email, and working with Irene was super easy. Had her send us a cake tasting by mail, which was AMAZING. Who doesn't want a box of cake showing up at your door? Once we tasted the cakes, we knew we had made the right choice. Irene's cakes are delicious, and she has many interesting combinations. Totally fell in love with the apple cake with cardamom icing (it is a VT wedding after all). Day of the wedding there was a little confusion about having flowers on my cake, but they just rolled with it and made the cake beautiful without them. Highly recommend Irene! Wish I could eat her cakes more often.

Irene was fantastic to work with! We had a blast during our tasting, and she completely understood what we envisioned. The cake was absolutely delicious, and the figurine of us she made as a cake topper was adorable! Highly recommend Irene!

Irene did a fabulous job with our wedding day desserts! We had a cutting cake, cupcakes and macarons. In addition, we had a grooms cake that we served at our rehearsal dinner, which was a HUGE hit! We are skiers and she made a ski mountain cake, complete with my husband and I skiing down and all of our favorite trail names from our local mountain. Irene was a pleasure to work with and I would highly recommend her to anyone getting married in Vermont!

Sourcream yellow, carrot cake and a gluten free triple chocolate (we didn't tell anyone it was gluten free and you couldn't tell since it was the first to go!). We used Irene's cakes by design for our wedding in Arlington VT, and I can say with complete confidence that it was one of the best tasting wedding cakes we have ever had! My now husband is picky about wedding cakes and has always found them dry and tasteless, but this cake was amazing! The whole process with Irene was very professional and it is clear that she loves what she does. We had such a blast during the amazing cake tasting, it was almost impossible to decide on a flavor. Her combinations are out of this world. The cake came out beautiful, we couldn't have been more pleased. We even followed her directions for storing our cake and it tasted great on our one month anniversary, I can't wait to have our one year piece!!

BEST.WEDDING.CAKE.EVER!!!!!! Irene is wonderful to work with, the cake was amazing, and she decorated it to match my bridesmaid dresses---how amazing is that! Irene also made an amazing Gluten Free cake for my guests with gluten allergies....and I loved it so much I ordered another cake for a celebration the week after my wedding!

Irene was very responsive and baked us a delicious multi-tier cake. We are still enjoying our carrot cake. I would highly recommend her for those who are getting married in the Killington area. Her work is fantastic and she delivered our cake promptly and without any issues.

Irene was FABULOUS!!! I am the mom of the bride and I can tell you that we did 3 other cake tastings before we found Irene and wow are we glad we did! She was amazing. She listened to my daughter and son-in-laws ideas about what they wanted and was able to make the perfect cake for them. We were married on June 26, 2015 at Killington Grand in Vermont. As an out of state bride, I found Itene as the preferred vendor of the hotel and I'm so glad I did! Irene arranged a meeting for us promptly and always answered emails promptly. I had a unique request for a design and she came right up with a sketch I loved. I had asked her to use a particular knot that was the theme of my wedding band and wedding, and she, despite having never done one before (and it is a fairly complicated pattern) did an amazing job bringing it to life. She looked at the pictures I brought and asked questions to get me what I wanted. She had great suggestions, creating a "green velvet" for my Irish wedding that the guests absolutely loved! Irene made adjustments easily as the day approached and checked in with me leading up to the event. She provided me with a delivery time and was prompt, leaving me to focus on other things on the day. She provided a box for us to store our anniversary layer in, and I was so impressed when I came into the reception and saw my cake for the first time. It was everything I asked for! To ensure I saw it, Irene also sent me a picture which I greatly appreciated, and felt was a personal and lovely touch. I can easily see why Irene is the preferred Killington vendor, and absolutely recommend her for whatever dessert needs you may have for any event!!

I can not express how happy I am with my experience with Irene's Cakes. We had cupcakes and then a small cutting cake for my husband and I. Irene took the time to understand exactly what we wanted and I was so happy with not only the taste which was incredible, but the they looked beautiful. I would highly recommend Irene's. The cake tasting was excellent; Irene took notes of your responses and helped coordinate flavor combinations. For decorations, Irene does amazing work and I couldn't have been happier with the outcome. We had a cake and cupcakes (because we couldn't decide on one flavor). The cake was beautifully decorated just like we discussed. We rented the birch cupcake display; definitely worth the money. Everyone raved about the cake and cupcake flavors.

Irene is a genius! I married Lyle Pinder (the man of my dreams) on October 19th 2013 and our wedding cake couldn't have complimented our love more. We asked Irene (the week of the wedding mind you!) to make a very personal cake with our most special moments and inside jokes written all over it and she nailed it! The cake was absolutely beautiful and we were showered with praise because of it. Not only was the cake beautiful but it was extremely moist and the most delicious wedding cake I have ever tasted! Each tier had a different flavor (marble, red velvet, lemon with respberry filling and apple crisp with cream cheese filling) and ALL of my guests were very pleased! The cake Irene made was not only stunning, but absolutely delicious! We asked for one of her award winning combinations-- the red velvet one-- and people are still raving about it 2 days later. We came to Irene with a hand-drawn sketch of a castle with a dragon on it. She didn't even blink, and constructed the most incredible cake I had ever seen complete with a giant sugar dragon clawing up the side and detailed stone and ivy work. AND IT WAS DELICIOUS. Irene's cakes are both stunning and DELICIOUS!! I was incredibly happy with the look of our cake and it was literally the BEST cake I have ever tasted! I've tasted a lot of wedding cakes and they usually look pretty but they don't taste very good - not so with Irene's cakes...they taste amazing! We got to do a trial and taste over 25 flavors of cake and icing combinations. Everything was great and she was easy to work with. I would highly recommend Irene!

Our cake tasting with Irene was one of my favorite "wedding planning days" throughout the process. Each cake we were served was amazing and delicious, it was so hard to choose what we wanted for our wedding! We had an amazing sour cream yellow cake with layers of maple butter cream and fresh raspberries in the middle. On the exterior of the cake Irene created soft texture of her delicious vanilla buttercream. The cake was HEAVENLY! Our guests loved it and said it was the perfect compliment to our summer wedding on our Vermont Farm. On top of the cake we added fresh flowers that really made the cake a showstopping piece at the wedding. I would highly recommend Irene to anyone who wants a wedding cake- her confections are spectacular!

We chose Irene Maston to design our wedding cake topper and cupcakes, and we were just in awe of how incredibly delicious they were as well as her artistic abilities! We could not have been happier with the way our wedding desserts from Irene turned out (we did a 2-tier cake, cake pops and cupcakes....the cake pops were gone early!). So many of our guests were blown away by the dessert table. Not only were they DELICIOUS (they were the last thing we ate on our wedding day) but Irene was also a pleasure to work with and accommodated our many changes along the way without a hiccup. You can have complete faith that she will understand your vision and deliver what you want.

We ordered both a traditional wedding cake and a groom's cake. Both were exactly as we discussed with Irene and actually tasted delicious. Irene was professional and thorough throughout the whole process. For the groom's cake, Irene made a cake modeled after my husband's car and it was identical, even down to the license plate. I definitely recommend Irene's Cakes by Design.

Irene's cakes are in a class of their own. Each is a work of art and they taste great too. The price is a little high for VT, but its well worth the quality. She customize any type of cake flavor and decor wise that you would like. Not only this she was able to provide a vegan and gluten free cake for my guest with dietary issues so everyone could enjoy her cake. I only wish I could have brought more on the honeymoon. The tasting was also my favorite part of wedding planning. Get ready to be wowed!

My husband and I are huge fans of cake decorating shows and we really wanted a special cake for our ceremony. Irene was AMAZING to work with! With a few quick emails, she understood our vision. She was able to sculpt a dragon and princess for our cake that were detailed and beautiful. By the end of the night, my husband had 17 pictures of the cake on his phone--and none of me! Not only did it look great, it tasted wonderful. The cake was moist and flavorful. We were so impressed and highly recommend her!

My (now) husband and I got married at Amee Farm in Pittsfield, VT and had our beautiful cake made by Irene! Irene hosted a tasting with us prior to our wedding and systematically walked us through all of our options for interior and exterior layers. By the end of it my mouth was so overwhelmed by amazingness I hardly remembered which cake we chose, but our wedding cake was delicious! All of our guests commented on how beautifully crafted and moist it was! Irene gave us instructions on how to save the top layer and wrap it in our freezer for our anniversary...can't wait!

First of all, Irene was a pleasure to do business with. I initally thought she would pass us on to another cake designer when she found out that we were only having 20 guests at our wedding - but that was not the case at all. Irene crafted a gorgeous cake that above all was DELICIOUS. Hands down it was the best cake that I've ever eaten in my entire life. She also created two types of cookies that we included as favors to our guests that have been raved about by all who attended. We can't thank Irene enough for working with us to create the cake of our dreams!

Irene made an absolutely stunning cake for our wedding. She even personalized the lace design on the cake to match the lace on my dress - amazing! She was a pleasure to work with & the cake was delicious too. Couldn't have asked for anything more!

Irene has done the cake for two weddings that I have attended. The cakes were as moist and delicious as they were beautiful. She captured a garden theme for one of the cakes, that had butterflies, flowers, grass, and some other natural elements - all made from sugar! She's an impressive talent! I looked through her website when we were initally looking for wedding cake baker (AMAZING). In the end, my brother (who is also a baker) offered to make our cake for us - so we decided to go that route. I would highly recommend Irene though, and would certainly use her services in the future.

My daughter selected Irene for her cake and additional cookies for her wedding in September, 2011. When our plans were changed by Hurricane Irene, Cakes by Design came through for us and accommodated by daugher's every wish. You could not have had a more moist and delicious cake. Irene went above and beyond for us! Our venue was changed at the last minute and she was still willing to help us. She created 3 cupcake towers for us with three different flavors and our guests raved about them! A very kind and dedicated woman and we thank her for everything!

No joke - every guest commented on how good the wedding cake was. Wedding cakes are notoriously known to be sub-parr renditions of their moist, flavorful counterparts you'd find in an experienced baker's home kitchen. Irene and her husband know what they are doing - they've won national cake competitions and work fast to understand the customer's wishes. The cake turned out beautifully - both artisticly and palette-wise. The flavor selection she offered was to die for and was one of the more challenging decisions to make (I know, poor me). I kind of want to dig into my 1st anniversary piece right now.....

If you are looking for a cake that is a piece of art, you must go to Irene. We met with Irene for our tasting in July of 2010. She was a pleasure to meet and I loved seeing all of her work and awards in the Inn in Ludlow. We designed a cake together that day and she delievered and then some. The flowers atop our cake appeared to be real and matched the bridesmaids flowers to a T! Everyone was surprised to find out that the flowers were made of sugar! We were so very happy with the outcome of our cake. Not to mention that it was incredibly delicious!!

My cake tasted great, looked like CR4P and the service was like a conveyor belt. Irene is NOT the only show in town, so please shop around. She charges Manhattan prices for cakes that would never pass as beautiful in a big city. I was horrified by how different my cake looked from the picture I chose from her portfolio.

Irene's skill at designing cakes is obvious the moment you look at her website or at her albums in person. What we ended up being even more impressed by was that the cake tasted DELICIOUS! We were pretty indecisive about what we wanted our cake to actually look like, so we sent Irene color swatches and a picture of a few ideas, and she threw it together. Our guests raved about how good our cake was, and most wanted second helpings!
