This was the perfect venue for our wedding! We worked with Kevin and him and his team did a fantastic job. They were so easy to work with leading up to the day and have a very rea...
sonable, flexible and cost effective approach. The bar manager PJ was great to work with as well and very accommodating. Our guests loved the space and we received so many positive reviews for how friendly and professional bartenders were. Our reception was held in the Erin Room and then we went down to the fifth province for our after party which was so convenient. I highly recommend this place for any event.
After we got engaged, we knew that the first step in the planning process would be to find a venue. Working on a tight budget, in a high-cost of living city, we know that we would ...
need to search high and low to find a space that would accomodate our wedding size (approx 125) and was within the budget. When we first found the IAHC we thought it was all too good to be true! The location was close to friends and family, the photos looked great and the pricing was a great value - we couldn't have had a better experience!
When we saw the space in person we knew that it was the space of our dreams and we booked it the very next day. As a former event planner, I knew exactly what I wanted and what sorts of questions to ask, and the events team didn't flinch. This is a historical cultural center that also does private events - not the other way around, so keep that in mind. They were fairly hands-off during the planning process, which was exactly what I was looking for, but that may be a challenge if that's not your style or are looking for a venue that will hold your hand very closely through the planning process. They provided all of the tables and chairs for our event and setup the space the day before, so our other vendors could get to work first thing in the morning on the day of our wedding. The team was accomodating and flexible with our drop-off, setup and tear-down and unloading. The bar packages were a great value, and they even ordered some of our favorite off-menu craft beer options for our event! The bartenders were the nicest humans you could ever meet and they took great care of our guests. We loved our experience with the IAHC, and hope to hold an event with them again in the future!
Had a wonderful experience working with the IAHC for our wedding! The Erin Room was beautiful and we had a perfect night! Becky and Marty were great to work with, and I would recom...
mend the IAHC to anyone!
We had an absolutely incredible time working with Becky Tatz. She was super helpful and really made it a great experience.
We booked the Erin Room at the IAHC. It was a beautiful room that was able to accommodate our 200+ guest list. We booked for a Sunday, which knocked a good chunk of change off ou...
r bill. When we booked, Natalie was very forthcoming about all of the details and answered all of our questions. We also discussed bar packages. The packages are pricey, but it was worth it.
There were only two issues we had.
First, there was a staff change with event coordinators, and the new staff member had a different approach to things than what we were experiencing.
When we booked, we were told that we could set up the room the day before, and that after our event, we could come back the next day and clear everything out. We found out 2 weeks before the wedding that the room was booked for another event and that we had to set up the day of the wedding. When I asked why nobody told us sooner, the coordinator replied, "Well, of course we'd book Saturday night. It's our big money night." I get it, but it would have been nice for a heads up.
Then on the day of the wedding, the IAHC staff approached us at 11:30 and told us that they were locking the building at 12 and that we needed to clear the room by then. I was upset, as this was not we were told when we booked.
Overall, it's a great space with free parking and a beautiful bar. However, it was a bummer being told two different things. I know that sometimes happens with staffing changes, but it still stunk.
