In my case, I was the "add on" event she offers to couples planning a wedding. Having just planned a similar reception a year earlier, I naively had no idea how much I would need her, and she probably had no idea how much hand-holding I would require, but Jamie made it work. She knew when to let me "think about it" and when to push me, and she was awesome about providing and explaining my choices. As for the day of the event, literally all I had to do was drop off a few items I wanted to have available for guests and then show up at the start. Jamie and her happy staff set up and coordinated everything for me. I was able to feel like a guest rather than a host, which was a huge relief for me. I also have to add a few comments about the day of the wedding itself even though that wasn't my responsibility. Mother Nature threw pretty much everything at us that Saturday, and Jamie and her staff had to change plans on the fly all day long, Unfortunately, the outdoor beach wedding became impossible, but because Jamie and her staff had prepared for, and prepped the wedding party for, every contingency, everything came off beautifully, and perhaps seemed even more intimate and special as a result. Even though I was disappointed we couldn’t have our ceremony outside as planned, Jamie made the whole process feel calm and under control. She even organized our bridal party to greet guests and help them to their seats, adding a personal touch that meant so much. The decorations were absolutely stunning—Jamie’s team did an incredible job transforming the venue. Throughout the reception, Jamie continually checked in on us while ensuring everything stayed perfectly on schedule. Jamie’s professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail truly made our wedding unforgettable. If you’re planning a wedding on Martha’s Vineyard, I wholeheartedly recommend Island Dreams.
