Aaron was a great dj. He matched the vibe of the wedding and our guests. I had many specific requests and he was right there listening to each one and completed each task. During the wedding we had a request and before just completing it, he came over and checked with me first. He was timely and set up all his equipment promptly. We had a separate set up for our ceremony/cocktail hour and he set everything up quickly and played all the music we wanted! He helped make our wedding day special and perfect.

I’ll be the first to admit that I was initially anxious about having a DJ for my wedding. My family can be a little on the uptight side, and I wasn’t sure if dedicating a big part of the day to dancing would be the right fit. But I am so glad that we made the decision to have a DJ—and especially thrilled that we got to work with Grover! From the moment he took the reins, Grover exceeded every expectation we could have had. He set the tone for the entire evening with lively and effervescent introductions, made all the important announcements with great energy, and created a beautiful atmosphere with the perfect lighting. But most importantly—he got my somewhat stuffy family to dance the night away! I never would have imagined seeing my relatives out on the dance floor, but Grover's energy and song choices had everyone moving, and the dance floor was full all night. Prior to the wedding, my partner and I put together a diverse playlist of songs we loved, and Grover worked his DJ magic to seamlessly mix them all together. It was impossible to leave the dance floor—every song felt like it flowed effortlessly into the next. And as a special touch that will forever hold a special place in my heart, Grover helped create a moment that felt straight out of a Disney movie. Since we had a Beauty and the Beast themed wedding, Grover coordinated with the catering team to pass out dinner under cloches as "Be Our Guest" played in the background. It was an unforgettable, magical moment that truly captured the spirit of the theme. I cannot recommend Grover and ISound Entertainment enough! If you want your event to be one that people will be talking about for years to come, they’re the ones to call.

Loved the app and communication with the team but the DJ we got messed up several times during the event. He didnt play the right songs for the ceremony or for the wedding party intros. He was on time and had a lot of energy which our guests loved but we spent so much time planning and didn't get what we thought we were getting. I get mistakes happen but the DJ has the most important job and messed up 2 separate times. Also I thought during the planning it said there would be a DJ and MC but we just got 1 person who had to do it all. Maybe I misunderstood but this may have helped out.

Josh and the team were the absolute best! From the start of my research to find a DJ they were heads above the rest. The response time and attention to detail was outstanding and from beginning to end you could tell they genuinely cared about our entire experience. Due to a natural disaster our scheduled DJ was unable to make the wedding. Josh contacted us immediately and made alternative plans to ensure that there were no glitches in our event! Every single request happened just as we had requested. If you're searching for a DJ, Island Sounds is the only way to go!!

What a party!! From booking to the wedding day, everyone at Island Sound was so knowledgeable and helpful. You can really tell they’re pros in the industry. Everything was so customizable but they also had some really great recommendations for times when we didn’t know exactly what we wanted. The party was nonstop! The DJ knew how to get and keep people on the dance floor. Every song was a hit and we danced until the last second.

We were pretty disappointed with our DJ from Island Sound. Leading up to the wedding the communication was okay, although we were supposed to get a free light projection which we did not receive. When we were put in contact with our DJ a few weeks out from the wedding (Shawn Minor) he was difficult to get in touch with and was over an hour late to our scheduled phone call. On our wedding, there were many awkward pauses. For example, the recessional music was not played for a good twenty seconds as we stood there. Then he did not do the grand entrance into the reception the way we asked, (written down and discussed verbally over the phone) which led to more awkwardness. For the reception music, there was first at least thirty seconds of silence as we stood there waiting for our first dance, then he begins to play the wrong song (once again, our song was written down weeks before and even verbally confirmed over the phone). Finally he plays the right song after more delay. Many (if not all) of our must play and requested songs were not played, while random songs we did not know were. I won’t even take the time to write the rest of it, but you can imagine many more awkward moments occurred with even stopping music in the middle of songs and silence between some songs. As a DJ, I feel as though that is your one job and a Spotify playlist with cross fade would have been better. We can’t speak for all the DJ’s contracted with Island Sound, but we would not recommend Shawn Minor.

Island Sound is absolutely amazing! Our guests would not stop talking about how much fun the dance floor was and how great the music was. They made our ideas come to life! No one even sat down because Josh killed it! We really wanted someone who connected with the crowd and threw in remixes and Josh did exactly that! I cannot recommend them enough!

I can’t say enough amazing things out Josh with DJ Island Sounds! He made our wedding so much fun and made the whole process super easy for us! The music was really important to my husband and I and Josh used our playlists and made them 100x better than we could have imagined! The dance floor was packed all night and our guests keep commenting on how amazing Josh is! He was also super flexible when we had a few last minute changes. I HIGHLY recommend hiring Josh with DJ Island Sounds for all of your events!

We loved working with Island Sound - our wedding vision was "dance party in the garden" and they totally nailed it! Staff at the venue and our guests both remarked that this was one of the most fun weddings they'd been to, and we think the music helped a lot! Our DJ was personable and courteous. They worked with our venue to set up perfectly as we had hoped, and I appreciated the flexibility. The only reason this review isn't five stars is because the form we filled out had a "must play" section, and we didn't hear 3/4 of the songs we put on that section and were very disappointed not to hear them.

Very professional DJ, he was super communicative and responsive. We made a lot of last-minute decisions and changes, and he accommodated all of them. He was great at announcements and at keeping the party engaging. Would highly recommend!

Justin absolutely crushed it!! We had nearly 200 people at our wedding and he kept people dancing all night long. Prior to the wedding, Island Sound had us fill out a survey for pre-ceremony music, ceremony music, cocktail hour, announcements, first dance, reception, and more. We spent a lot of time filling this out, but it was well worth it! Justin stuck to our requested music, which is not something all wedding DJs are willing to do. He transitioned between songs seamlessly and was even able to incorporate other requests into his set. We truly are so grateful for Justin and Island Sound for their professionalism and fun!

I am SO happy I booked with Island Sound! Our DJ was Mike King and he was phenomenal. We loved his energy, he read the room well with our guests and kept everyone moving until the last minute. Literally had to drag our friends off the dance floor! Thank you for making our wedding reception so wonderful!

Awesome group to work with. Has options to their package making it very easy to customize. Handles all the MC'ing in a fun professional manner. Good taste in music, listened to direction, but also made smart choices to get the party going. We had a great time for them and highly recommend.

DJ Josh was hands down the best! He took the time to meet with us before the wedding to discuss our music preferences and special requests. He gave us his inout and suggestions on things and everything ended working out great. On the day of the wedding, he arrived early to set up his equipment and worked seamlessly with our other vendors to coordinate timing and logistics. We highly recommend Island Sound for your next event especially a wedding!

Taylor was great! She got everyone on the dance floor even tho it wasn’t a big dancing party group! The variety of music was perfect as well.

DJ Drew was absolutely AMAZING! He played the best songs that got everyone dancing and really knew how to get everyone so engaged! Weeks after the wedding and people are still talking about how fun the reception was and how great they thought the DJ was! We even had some issues running into the rain at the reception, but DJ Drew made sure that it did not impact the mood of the evening and ensured everyone had a great time! HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend!!

The Island Sound team was incredible! The team is extremely responsive and delivered exactly what we were looking for based on our questionnaire and call with our assigned DJ (Mike). They took the stress out of making sure all of our audio was ready across the multiple spaces of our venue from the ceremony, to cocktail hour, to dinner, then to dancing (all in different locations within the venue). Everything went super smoothly and all our guests had a blast with how Mike mixed all our desired genres. Highly recommend using Island Sound for your wedding!

I could not recommend Island Sound enough! We had DJ Mike for our wedding and he was phenomenal. He executed the ceremony and cocktail hour well. And the dance floor never died down! Even a week later, our guests are still commenting on how good the DJ was! He played a great mix of older and newer, catering to the variety of age on our dance floor. DJ Spencer kept the party going all night long! Even pre-ceremony and cocktail hour were filled with great music to keep the vibe we wanted going. We got so many compliments on the music and he really was so great to work with. Such a simple process to get everything organized and just all around a great experience!! Highly recommend! :-)

We had DJ Ron (OH) and he did a fantastic job on 11/10! Extremely receptive to our requests, constantly checking on us if we needed anything, and kept everyone dancing. Our reception started at 6:30, people were dancing until 10:15, that floor was packed the entire time. Exactly what we wanted!! Thank you island sound - will be referring you to everyone we know!

I did NOT think I needed a DJ but Josh at island sound was so wonderful. Really kept the energy going and his song transitions were one of the more memorable parts of the night. Just a wonderful dude

Saleem was great! He definitely paid close attention to our questionnaire and created the vibe we were hoping for. He didn't play anything on the no-play list, and played the ones we wanted the most! From the ceremony, to dinner, to cake-cutting, to dancing, Saleem had everything running smoothly and seamlessly! Thank you so so much for really paying attention to our playlist and requests. DJ Tiny Tim was the man!! We had a few specific requests for our reception to ensure a healthy level of Bulgarian Horos and classic hits, and he was very flexible with music choices and keeping the party going. The communication leading up to our wedding was responsive, easygoing, and helped ensure us that we were going to be in for a fun time. The planning process and questionnaire are incredibly well thought out; there's not a single detail that Island Sound misses. Ultimately, you can't go wrong with hiring their DJ services!

I 100% recommend this company!! We hired them for our wedding and it was one of the best decisions we made. They sent out an extremely detailed questionnaire for us to complete at least a month before the wedding. It included more information than we could ever thought of. It gave us the opportunity to go through all of our expectations for our ceremony/reception, as well as all the the songs/genres we were interested in. From our answers, they matched us with a DJ. We were given David and he was AMAZING! All of the music played (from the ceremony, to the cocktail hour, to the reception) was completely on point with what we envisioned. He was great at being our emcee and directing the flow of the evening. He was very easy and fun to get along with, to where many of our guests mentioned enjoying his company. David adapted to issues/changes that unfolded throughout the night very smoothly and professionally. I am thankful he was there to get the party started and continue throughout the evening, while also keeping everyone in line. I couldn't recommend him enough!

My wedding was located in Williamsburg, VA and we were partnered up with DJ Shawn from DC. We scheduled multiple phone calls with him after we were assigned to which he either did not show up to, did not answer calls/text, or showed up hours late. This continued through out the planning process. When music is a key element of a wedding this sent me into a tail spin but with the money already taken there was not much we could do. The day of the wedding luckily he showed up had everything that the packaged came with and was ready for the day. He played everything we wanted and had the party going. Ultimately it ended up working out and we enjoyed him as our DJ but if you are look for good communication and response time you are not going to get it with at least the DJ we are selected with.

DJ Tiny Tim was assigned to DJ our wedding. He was professional and did keep our guests on the dance floor, but several of the things we discussed with him in our meeting/wrote on our survey were not done. For example, we had put together a playlist of songs we liked for cocktail hour and asked him to work from that list - he said he would do so and incorporate other similar music, then switch to classic music for dinner. He played our playlist for cocktail hour and then just repeated it when it ended during dinner rather than adding anything or playing the dinner music we discussed. Also, he confirmed as we requested that he would play only radio edits of songs, but the first song he played to open the dance floor was the explicit version of a Cardi B song. We had asked him to play a mix of Congolese/Afrobeats and American music for the dance floor and gave him a playlist with some songs to work from. He said he’d work from our list and incorporate similar songs/mix the songs to match the vibe we were going for. Instead, he played the majority of the songs on our playlist all the way through and added a few generic 2010s-type songs here and there (Dynamite, Uptown Funk, etc.). The transitions between the various events for the special dances and toasts were also a bit long and awkward. Overall, he generally kept the night going, but we had paid a bit of a premium for Island Sound based on all the positive reviews since the music was super important to us, and it fell a bit flat.

When planning a wedding apparently it is super important to get the best DJ possible. They are a key component in making sure everything stays on time, people are having fun, and setting the entire vibe of the event. If they do their job perfectly, then you will either say, "that was a great wedding" or not even notice the DJ. On the other hand, you absolutely know when a wedding has a bad DJ, our friends still complain about their wedding where the DJ was promoting his own mixtape. Island Sound provided an 11/10 service and the DJ, Josh, made sure everything was absolutely perfect. I cannot speak highly enough about Josh and how he handled everything. Prior to the wedding, Island Sound sent us an extensive sheet to fill in with names, what type of music we wanted, special requests, etc. When we spoke with Josh prior to the wedding, he was incredibly knowledgeable about every detail we put in, and provided constructive feedback that captured what we put down but added his professional opinion to ensure we had exactly what we wanted, not just what we might have written down without true knowledge. The day of, Josh was an all-star. There was never a glitch in the music, the atmosphere from pre-ceremony until the end of the reception was exactly what we wanted (but even better because he asked us all the things we didn't even know to write down). He was so good, our friends and family were asking him to keep playing, which if the venue would have allowed Josh was kind enough to extend on an hourly basis. All in all, I cannot recommend Josh from Island Sound highly enough. We would literally not change a thing (except maybe booking our event for longer!) because he made our dream wedding possible, kept it on time, and made sure we felt incredibly valued from the initial call all the way to when he was cleaning up his equipment!

The team of Island Sound were all so wonderful to work with. Our wedding DJ (Brian) was so engaging and our guests loved every minute of our reception. The sound for our ceremony on the beach was perfect, I was a little concerned, but they made it perfect. Our wedding was a destination wedding, and choosing vendors can be tricky, Island Sound was everything we asked for, meeting all of our expectations and putting all our worries aside. Highly Recommend!

We were super stressed about a dj during our wedding and Island Sound did such an amazing job! They captured the perfect vibe for cocktail hour and while everyone was eating. And don’t worry, our DJ really showed up with GREAT music for the dancing portion of the night. I’ve never seen guests at a wedding jump out of their seats to start partying! Highly recommend Island Sound for weddings!!

We can’t thank our DJ, Tiny Tim enough for how amazing he did at our wedding. When we were assigned and got on a video call with us to go over our questionnaire and everything we wanted. They provided us emcee services so he covered everything from ceremony-closing time. He was thorough and made sure we were happy with song choices and placement. Throughout our evening he announced properly and with enthusiasm, never missing a cue or veering off schedule. He kept everyone entertained and played all the songs we wanted as well as some mix ups for other age groups that were at our wedding . Everyone still raves about how much fun our wedding was. Mike was such an amazing DJ and made our wedding so fun! He was excellent with communication and I could text him any time with questions or concerns. My husband is Persian so it was important to us that Persian music was played and Mike went above and beyond in making that happen. Tim was amazing! We gave him ideas of what we liked/ wanted played and he did amazing with our song selection. Island sound was amazing from start to finish. The process was so easy and the customer service was great, responses were fast and every person I talked to was so friendly. They include a detailed form for you to fill out prior to your event so that you can have exactly what you want. I was slightly nervous about how they don’t match you with your DJ until a week or two prior to the event, but our DJ Michael King was SO GOOD. I wanted different genres of music throughout our wedding to differentiate cocktail hour, dinner, and the reception, and he delivered exactly what I wanted. The timing for every special song and announcement was on point. At the end of the night everyone was on the dance floor and every single song was a banger. Best wedding DJ, highly recommend!

Island Sounds was amazing to work with. The entire process with them was so painless. They were always so quick to respond to any questions I had which made things much less stressful in this department. DJ Edward kept the party going all night and was so much fun. 10/10 recommend!
