From the initial communication to the actual execution of the wedding, Fern and Quinn were outstanding. We had a pretty large group on the beach and I had quite a few requests in terms of setup, but they were very accommodating and incorporated everything! They also did a rehearsal for us (optional with an extra charge), which I recommend to anyone with a mid to large size group since it makes things smoother on the day of. The florist they work with and dove release also was great. Overall, I would recommend them to anyone getting married on Kauai!!!
20th wedding anniversaryReviewed on 12/05/2013
My husband and I had the honor of meeting Fern and her family 20 yrs ago when she performed our original Island style wedding in Kaua'i and then renewed our vows on both our 10th and 20th anniversary. Each time was distinct and memorable, and the last one was especially emotional for all of us. As Fern said in her blessing, if you can do this after 20 yrs, you really understand the meaning of commitment! Although we were not able this time to go to the original site due to weather conditions, we found another beautiful beach site, the flowers we requested were beautiful, and Quinn's photography was terrific! I would highly recommend Island Weddings & Blessings to anyone from new brides to grandparents wanting a special blessing for that special grandchild! Fern really listens to what you want and can offer great suggestions and ideas to make your day so very unique! We look forward to seeing her again for out upcoming silver (25th) anniversary! Mahalo to Fern and Quinn again for helping us celebrate our special years together!

We did a vow renewal on our 20th Wedding anniversary. Island Weddings and Blessings recommended Hanalei beach on November 17,2013. It was absolutely a beautiful service at a magnificent location. It was easy communicating through email and phone to secure the details to make our special day a great success. The photos were awesome and will be cherished for many years to come. Thanks again for making our day one we will never forget.

Fern and Michael coordinated our local Kauai wedding and it was a memorable occasion. What started out to be a simple beach wedding evolved into a ceremony in a glade with 100 guests, followed by a sit-down lunch in a big pavilion, hula performance and deejay dancing. At every step of the way they were there to keep us grounded, remember all the fine details that we kept forgetting, and give us the benefit of their expertise and local connections. Michael went above and beyond for us, designing an exquisite 8-ft-tall floral bouquet for the stage. That's not included in any package and isn't something they generally do, but it's indicative how far they'll go to make your day special, if they can. We were so happy with the wedding, the lunch, the location, the photography. We were able to just relax and enjoy our special Kauai wedding. Mahalo nui loa, Peggy and Matt.
Expensive, Unecessary fees, but nice in the endReviewed on 10/04/2012 Jill H
She didn't get me the flowers I asked for but I didn't see them until the wedding had started so it was not like I could stop and say, excuse me but that purple, green, and white lei is not that pink lei I asked for. Don't expect a rehearsal or your wedding attendants to be in position or even ready or knowing where to stand (no chairs provided like I expected) when you start walking down the isle. The professional photographer and hair and makeup person recommended by them to make it easier for us were just awful. My father-in-law took better pictures with his Nikon than the photographer and my mom could have done and did do a better hair and makeup job at the reception back on the mainland a week later. My hair was flapping in my face the whole time in pictures and the video so you couldn't really see my face. The worst part was the so-called wedding coordinator, who was supposedly required for a group of more than 12 people (we had 14 including bride and groom). We had to pay more money and he didn't do ANYTHING. It was a joke. I think it was like the wedding gals son or nephew who needed a job and some cash but had no experience or will to coordinate anything. Boo. After all this, everything turned out fine I guess, but it wasn't at all what I expected. For all the money we paid, I don't think the wedding vendor really earned it. It's not like she did much really. Makes me think I'm in the wrong business that's for sure. Good things were the beautiful location, the ceremony wording, and the releasing of the doves was the best! My advise if I could do it again is to ditch the email back and forth BS and just pick up the phone and talk about what you want. I told her what I wanted a year ahead of time in email and she stuck with that instead of what I finally decided in the end a few months before the wedding. Must of forgot about those messages.
