It's All About The Cake

We were very pleased to have It’s All About the Cake for our wedding! Thank you, It’s All About the Cake, for delivering an absolutely fantastic wedding cake and for creating an easy process for us along the way. Our coordinator dealt with final head counts and timelines, so we can’t speak to much of that - but our cake tasting and early correspondence with IAATC went smoothly. Our cake was shockingly good and guests were raving about it! The presentation was lovely and met all of our expectations. We only wish we were offered the photo op with the “cake tasting” sign as we saw some other couples did, but we look forward to having our anniversary slice in a year.

We were very happy with the cake and all the desserts we ordered from them. We even used the attached restaurant (What A Dish Cafe) for our rehearsal dinner. Everyone there is nice, and the desserts are delicious! Our only bug was that we ordered fresh strawberries for the inside of our cake, paid extra for them, and didn’t get them. Overall, good experience! We worked with them through our use of the Aliso Vimeo Wedgewood venue as they’re the selected vendor for cakes with them.

It's All About the Cake did an amazing job with our cake! We absolutely loved our two tier cake! It was hands down, delicious! We would highly recommend them to anyone.

They nailed our cake - the taste was even better than the tasting, and the design was spot on to what we asked for. They are worth every penny, and do incredible work.

So beautiful and yummy! We were referred to Its All About the Cake from our venue Marbella Country Club. From our initial tasting with Chantel to our wedding day, Its All About the Cake so delivered. They did a beautiful job on our cake, and the assorted dessert selection was awesome. All of our guests commented on them and how delicious everything was. And an extra bonus, on our year anniversary they will re make our wedding cake for us. I will admit the day was so fast, did not get enough time to really enjoy and sit and eat cake. So looking forward to our 1 year anniversary cake! Thank you!!!

So delicious! We had cupcakes and a 2-tier cake at our wedding and both were fabulous! Flavors were so good and hard to choose, there were so many! They made the tasting so easy, as it was take-home and then when ordering, they were able to bill directly to our coordinator, no hiccups. Moist, flavorful cake and cupcakes.

Ana and Colleen were so wonderful to work with. We met Ana the day of our tasting. She was very sweet and explained the process to us. It’s All About The Cake hosts the tasting at their cafe in Dana Point right by the harbor which is a beautiful location. They offer you champagne and bring the cake samples out to you so it is a very indulgent and fun experience! Most importantly, the cake is absolutely DELICIOUS! My Groom and I chose three flavors, one for each layer - vanilla cake with vanilla pastry cream and lemon curd filling, strawberry cake with strawberry pastry cream filling, and chocolate cake with chocolate mousse filling. Leading up to the wedding, I changed my mind several times on what type of design I wanted for the cake. No matter how many times I changed it, Colleen and Ana were very patient with me and accommodating. They thought of everything, including asking me how large my cake topper was, so they could make sure it would fit. The day of my wedding, they delivered the cake on time and it was exactly what I asked for. All of my guests were raving about how delicious the cake was. It was so good, I had my venue pack up the leftovers so we could take it home! I would highly recommend It’s All About The Cake.

It’s All About the Cake made us a delicious, beautiful cake for our wedding. Everyone was so easy to work with, and we thoroughly enjoyed the cake tasting session. Our wedding guests complimented all three unique flavors that we selected. The best part is that they provide you with a mini-cake on your one-year anniversary. We are looking forward to it!

The cake was stunning and cupcakes were super yummy!! My only complaint is the cupcakes had no garnish as requested as we had a few guests highly allergic to seeds so I had to bite into some to see which pile the seedless ones were in so we had no hospital trips on the wedding day. Otherwise it was all perfect :) Excited for our one year anniversary cake next year!

My husband and I walked into our cake tasting appointment with absolutely no expectations but walked away more excited about our cake than any other wedding plans! Our cake options seemed only as limited as the combinations we could think of. In the end, my husband and I were able to put together some of the most amazing cakes that our guests were praising afterward! We highly recommend It's All About the Cake!

On our wedding day we were so grateful to have a delicious dessert to share with our family and friends. The most amazing cakes. They were so accommodating for the tasting and have the most delicious cake. Easy, stress-free booking and on time delivery! It was a beautiful cake and so good. Our guests keep commenting on how it was the best wedding cake they have ever had. Especially because we ended up with different flavor of cake every layer because my grandma and I couldn't make up our minds! It all delicious!

Don’t go anywhere else. Between our wedding cake, the cupcakes and Joshua’s groom’s cake (that started as a Pinterest picture and turned out FLAWLESS) everything was DELICIOUS!! Plus! We get a FREE anniversary cake!! Seriously, they are AMAZING!!!

It's All About The Cake did a fantastic job with our simple cake. The tasting was lovely as we tried many different flavors and settled on Red Velvet for the main section and coconut cream for the other. They were patient with me as I asked to adjust the design many times to get the right look for the rosettes on the cake. I highly recommend It's All About The Cake especially because they provide a free anniversary cake! Can't wait till next August :)

My husband and I were married at The Villa SJC this spring and It’s All About the Cake was our wedding bakery. We had our tasting meeting in their café and the cake was moist and flavorful. The most difficult part was narrowing it down. We decided on carrot cake with cream cheese, dark chocolate with raspberry, and vanilla with lemon. Having lived in three states together, we decided to model each of our three tiers after New Orleans, Boulder, and San Pedro. We provided a few photos, and let the experts work their magic. The cake was beautiful. They did a row of fleur de lis on top, a silhouette of the mountains and pine trees in the middle, and shells on the base. They used shades of ivory and beige which kept it classic and tied the different designs together. The muted colors also kept the design from looking busy. Our guests loved the concept and It’s All About the Cake completely nailed it. The cake was gorgeous and delicious. We were able to try a piece of each the next day that was saved for us. Thank you, It’s All About the Cake!

We got our recommendation through my dad and we’re not disappointed! The tasting was fun and quick because they were busy since it’s also a popular brunch spot but all of the cakes and creams were delicious! We took a week to decide and went back in to book and were able to email a photo of what we wanted! I was also able to drop off my cake topper and wasn’t worried about it! The cake turned out beautifully and was delicious from the small pieces my husband and I ate from cutting the cake! I just wish I could have gotten a bigger piece at my wedding! Now I’m excited for our anniversary cake! Highly recommend to everyone!

Mmmm. Honestly I was shocked the way we got treated on the phone. Their customer service was a nightmare. I believe I talked with Colleen on the phone and was just in complete shock. We had an emergency and had to take our dog to the vet that morning and it was taking longer than expected so we decided to call and see what our best option was. We were not planning on canceling our tasting and meeting but that’s what ended up happening since she was so rude. After I told her what was going on, she rudely stated “and what do you want me to do about it” and I asked for a rescheduling. I know rescheduling isn’t ideal. My fiancé and I wanted to go to the tasting, we were actually super exited so shooting for a reschedule was what we decided to do. After she rudely spoke to me, she put me on hold for over ten minutes which was bizarre. At that point I was just so fed up with their awful service that I called back and explained the situation, and canceled. There are so many great amazing cake places in Orange County. Don’t waste your time with someone who doesn’t care about clients.

It's All About The Cake did an amazing job on our wedding cake! Our cake was incredibly delicious, super moist, and absolutely beautiful. We added sugar flowers to our cake and it turned out better than I could have ever imagined. We would highly recommend them to anyone looking for the perfect wedding cake!

Meeting with Colleen, who does the tastings, is not fun. You'll feel like you're bothering her and she has better things to do. Now, the cake quality and flavor is AMAZING, their bakers should be livid that Colleen is who is representing their product, because they do an amazing job. Since I didn't know exactly what design I wanted, we got a quote for a "buttercream design", after many emails back and forth and settling on a design, I was informed it would be quite a bit more because it was "detailed". Now I understand charging for your time, but felt it was quite unprofessional that I wasn't told when I got my quote that it only included a simple design. During this constant back and forth Colleen continually messed up how many tiers we had paid for, which tells me either she didn't bother to look it up, or she just didn't care. So either hire some help, or don't take on so many clients, because Brides want to know you care.

The tasting was fantastic and had no problem describing to them what I wanted. When I saw our cake on the wedding day it was beautiful and it tasted even better! Would highly recommend.

Colleen did an awesome job on our cake and cupcakes. So delicious, people are still talking about it! Get the red velvet! Or anything with that amazing raspberry filling...I can’t even!

The cake itself tasted absolutely amazing and all our guests enjoyed it; however I specifically asked for a mickey mouse design because our wedding was Disney themed. The cake showed up the day of (too late to do anything to change it) and it looks like upside down mickeys with the ears and head all spread out. Basically the design looked like a bunch of dots. I was FURIOUS we booked the cake 10 months in advanced and I even brought pictures for reference. The cake was something I was so excited about and I can't stand to look at it in the wedding photos now.

We got married in August 2016 and were so pleased with All About the Cake and are so happy we had them to make our wedding cake. Since the bride has a gluten allergy, it was very important that they could make part of the cake gluten-free and still taste delicious. At our tasting (insert name) have us multiple samples for gluten-free and regular cake combinations. They were able to create a solution that fit our budget and satisfied our need for some gluten-free cake. It was suggested to get the two-layer cake gluten-free and then a sheet cake that wasn't gluten-free. Which was genius. They delivered the cake on time and not only was the cake delicious, it looked amazing. There was a small hiccup where they forgot to deliver our cake on our cake-holder that we gave to them prior. They apologized and delivered our cake stand to us at a later date so all was fine. If you want superior customer service, reasonable prices and delicious cake, go with All About the Cake and you will not be sorry.

It's All About the Cake was included as the bakery with our wedding venue and I couldn't be happier with how our wedding cake looked and more importantly tasted! We really enjoyed our cake tasting appointment and I also ended up ordering a cake for our rehearsal dinner from them as well! Love, love, love It's All About the Cake!!!

Our cake was absolutely stunning, exactly as the cake designer and I had designed together. It was so delicious too! The process could not have been easier from the initially tasting to the few emails it took to get exactly what I wanted.

Best cake in the entire world. We tired so many places and were unpleased. The experience of having someone plate each combination of cake was delightful. We have been married a month and keep talking about how awesome the cake was. I can't wait to have our anniversary cake! You won't be dissatisfied with their creations.

Honestly it was the most delicious cake I have ever tried. And you know people's thoughts generally on wedding cake is it costs a lot and does not taste good... well that is not the case here! Not only was it delicious, it was affordable too. In fact we gave some cake to our family and they stuffed it in their purses and took it on the plane with them because it was that yummy!! We were married on October 8th and It's All About The Cake created 3 beautiful wedding cakes for our special day. The cakes were delicious and beautifully decorated. Before we ordered our cakes, we went to their bakery in Dana Point and had a very professional wedding cake sampling. They paired several flavors with a variety of toppings and fillings to show you all the options that were available to you. We chose 3 different cake flavors and paired each with different fillings and toppings. As part of our wedding cake package we get to have a small cake made for us on our first anniversary instead of eating a piece that's been in the freezer for a year! We LOVE It's All About The Cake!

Our cake was so delicious for our big day! It looked exactly like our picture with what we wanted and it tasted better than we imagined. The tasting was fun as well and very helpful when it came time to choosing the flavors. They also delivered the cake on time, which is a huge plus. We can't wait for our first anniversary cake! Omg! Not only did the cake taste awesome it looked perfect! I had found this black chalkboard cake with vintage looking silouhettes and when I showed them the picture it ended up being one of their cakes! Every layer was a different flavor and every one was so good. They also give you a free cake for your 1 year anniversary.

We are very happy with them! We had a small 6" cake for us for our wedding reception as well as cupcakes for our guests. We had four different flavors of cupcakes. We met with Megan at our consultation and she was super sweet and professional. The price was very reasonable and the cake and cupcakes tasted delicious! They arrived on time and everything was perfect! We would definitely suggest them to anyone! P.S. They have a little cafe in the same storefront called It's a Dish and they have amazing food! We love to go back in our spare time and eat there and get a cupcake or two! Adorable location!

I had booked It's All About the Cake for our wedding well in advance after sampling their delicious, moist cake at our tasting! They were so great in handling any changes and my last minute addition of a surprise groom's cake for the rehearsal dinner as well. All our guests loved their cake and how great it tasted, even the next day! The groom's cake was a chocolate cake with cookies and cream filling in a 3D football shape with my groom's favorite college football team's logo. It stole the show and looked absolutely perfect! The wedding cake was a white cake with lemon filling and buttercream frosting. It looked beautiful on display and was so refreshing for a warm summer day! I'll certainly be using them again, and can't wait to taste our 1 year anniversary cake!!

They did an absolutely wonderful job! I am not a fan of buttercream so they were actually able to use the whipped cream frosting for the style of cake I was wanting. The lemon filling was delicious and so was the fresh strawberry filling. Not only was it beautiful and just what I wanted, but it was so yummy! It was the most moist and flavorful wedding cake I have ever had. I must say I am thrilled with how my cake turned out especially considering I ordered it all over the phone!! :)

The cake was spectacular. It was so delicious and beautiful. Made exactly how we designed it and delivered perfectly on time. The process was also extremely smooth and easy.

We used It's All About the Cake for our August wedding. We had a mixup the first day when we went for our tasting, but they made time to see us anyway. The tasting was great, as they could do such a variety of options. When Kim asked if there were any flavors not on the plate that we would like to taste, I requested peanut butter (my favorite!!). She obliged, and it was the best peanut butter mousse we have ever tasted! The berry filling with marble cake was delicious too. We showed pictures of what we wanted the cake to look like and it turned out perfectly!!

We really liked the cake and cupcakes at our wedding. They were a huge hit by according to the guests! They did seem a bit expensive. Also, I tried to decrease the number of total cupcakes to have at the wedding a few weeks before hand and they recommended staying with the total number to ensure that everyone got one. We had DOZENS left over!

For our August wedding in San Clemente they made the day with the cake. The cake was beautiful and was exactly what we had wanted during the design period. Everyone LOVED the cake as well. My cake for the wedding was so beautiful! I loved it and everyone at the wedding loved it too!

I went through my reception vendor to work with It's All About the Cake. They have beautiful cakes and were decently priced - due to the contract we had with the reception vendor. We had a three layer cake, with two different flavors: strawberries and cream & chocolate cake with raspberry filling and chocolate ganauche (spelling?). Guests said it was SO tasty. I loved the strawberries and cream one! The presentation was simple and beautiful, just like I wanted. They were able to work with some toppers I made on kabob skewers - no hesitations to use it! The reason why I gave 4 stars for service was the rushed feeling I got when we had our tasting appointment. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy with our choices, but I felt pushed to pick the second flavor (the chocolate/raspberry) because it was "very popular". I don't know if that was intended to get our order in and the appointment completed... but that's the feeling I walked away with. The cake was delicious enough to not have to worry about it!

I had a small cake and cupcakes made for my wedding which turned out beautifully. The actual cakes and filling are divine. All of the guests at my wedding commented on how amazing the cupcakes were. Highly recommend for any future brides!

It's All About The Cake was so great!! The cake tasting was so much fun and the sales person, I forget her name... was so helpful! We originally were going to do cupcakes because we thought it'd be more cost effective, she priced both options out for us and we ended up going with a tiered cake because that surprisingly was less expensive! It was so delicious!! I had guests telling me how delicious it was and that they went back for seconds it was so good! We went with the white cake and lemon filling and chocolate cake with raspberry filling! They even give you a free cake on your one year anniversary so you don't have to worry about freezing the top layer of your cake! Such sweet workers!!

I loved our cake! It's all about the cake and their owener, Diane, were lovely to work with. We had a cake tasting at another bakery and chose this one. The tasting was top notch. The cake was superb. The lemon is to die for. I was bummed the our cake did not line up perfect. I am a perfectionist and the seems on the back side were off center, it bothered me every time I see the pictures. Very expensive, but better then anything you will find in the area.

It's All About the Cake is a phenomenal family owned business that has the best wedding cakes we've ever tasted. Alexandra (Owner's Daughter) was a delight to work with. All employees are very customer oriented and extremely helpful. We loved our wedding cake!! We selected different types of cake for each layer and different flavors. It was absolutely delicious!! I highly recommend this delightful bakery for your wedding cake and they have a great cafe there as well with awesome organic food entrees.

I really appreciated It's All About the Cake! They had great selections for us, especially considering that I have Celiac's disease and we were able to have a gluten free layer of our cake. The gluten free layer was so amazing, you wouldn't be able to tell it was different (and for those of you who eat gluten free... you know what a relief this is!). They also had a huge selection for the other layers, catering to my husband's desire for many flavor combinations. Only downsides: we felt a little rushed at the cake tasting, and needed to ask for a few more flavor selections (all of which they had... just had to ask). Great choice. Cake decoration was beautiful and exactly to our specifications.

They were very friendly in the decision process and when the cake was delivered to the wedding venue, it was beautiful! Not only beautiful, but delicious!!! The cake was so moist and flavorful...people are still talking about my wedding cake and how good it was.
