From the very beginning, Sara from It’s Wonderful Photography was an absolute delight to work with. She listened to all of our requests — even our last-minute ideas — and went out ...

of her way to capture some of the most breathtaking moments of our wedding day. What stood out to me just as much as her talent was how genuinely honest and easy she was to work with. Her pricing was incredibly reasonable, and she never once tried to push unnecessary add-ons. In fact, when I originally asked about booking her for a longer timeframe, Sara actually advised me that it wasn’t necessary and that her 8-hour package would be more than enough time to capture everything we wanted. That immediately made me feel like we were working with an honest person running an honest business, rather than someone simply trying to upsell us. Also, her turnaround time was remarkably quick! We had some of the most gorgeous photos before we even left the island! We also really appreciated Sara’s knowledge of Mission Point. She knew the property so well and was able to lead us through it efficiently, making sure we hit all of the best spots for photos without ever making the day feel rushed or overly staged. That familiarity with the venue made the entire process feel seamless. She made us feel comfortable, listened to what mattered to us, and captured our day in a way that feels genuine, romantic, and completely us. And beyond being an incredibly talented photographer, Sara just shines as a person. Everyone absolutely loved her. She brought such a warm, positive energy to the day and fit in so naturally with our family and friends that it genuinely felt like having another wonderful person there celebrating with us. Truly, Sara was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. We plan to return to Mackinac Island for years to come, and we would absolutely love the opportunity to work with her again and have her capture some of our future family adventures there. We are so grateful to have these photographs to look back on for the rest of our lives and cannot recommend Sara and It’s Wonderful Photography enough!

nt photos (which was actually a surprise to me!) and has the most amazing eye. She was professional, responsive and organized in her communications and helped us build a wish list of photos we wanted to make sure were captured. On our wedding day, Sara proactively took initiative to take our flat lay/detail photos, dress/getting ready photos and is great at both steering you in the right direction and being receptive to new ideas on the fly. She organized our bridal party and families with clear direction and lighthearted humor, and she even made sure to fluff my dress between shots to ensure it was perfect as well! We decided to read our vows privately to each other prior to the ceremony and Sara was there to capture this intimate moment without being intrusive. We are so happy with the range of photos that were taken. After the day was done, we received our sneak peek photos incredibly quick, and they are just stunning. Would 100% recommend Sara for your wedding day!

r before we even had a venue. We cannot say enough great things about Sara and her amazing work! From our engagement photos to wedding day photos, the entire process was an absolute pleasure. Sara was incredibly professional, prompt, and attentive to our needs and preferences throughout every step of the way. She surely knows the ins and outs of Mackinac Island, and finds the most beautiful places to set the photos! On our wedding day, Sara captured every special moment and detail with such care and precision. She made us feel comfortable and at ease, and we were able to relax and enjoy our day without worrying about the photography. The final photos are absolutely stunning, and the book she created for us let’s us relive the day each time we look through it. We are so grateful to have such beautiful memories of our special day that we can cherish for a lifetime. Thank you, Sara, for your incredible talent, passion, and professionalism. We highly recommend It’s Wonderful Photography to anyone looking for a skilled and dedicated wedding photographer. You will receive the most beautiful photos, and end up with a great friend!

Sara is hands down the BEST. We cannot express how grateful we are to have had her capture our wedding weekend!!! She is professional and thinks of everything, she is creative and ...

encouraging when taking photos, she isn’t overbearing but gets all the best shots AND candid shots, and is just so pleasant and easy to work with. Sara is also an expert on Mackinac and knows all the best (and hidden) spots for the perfect photo- if you have any requests she will make it happen and all of your Mackinac wedding photo ops come true. Sara is simply the best. Her photos speak for themselves so just take a look and you will be sold.

Sara was an absolute DREAM to work with! Not only did she deliver to most beautiful pictures, she truly became one of the bridal party. We had a micro-wedding at Mission Point on ...

Mackinac Island. It was important to us to have a photographer who was familiar with the island who could capture the island’s beauty and knew all the best spots. Sara delivered on that and more! She made everyone feel at ease throughout the day and gave great direction to make sure every shot was perfect. I am still in awe of how perfectly she captured our day. Everyone continues to rave about her to this day. I would recommend Sara to absolutely anyone!

ept us laughing, smiling, and having fun the whole time. It felt like we were all old friends, even the first day we met her! Everyone was gushing over our engagement shoot. When it came to the wedding day, she was on top of everything! She worked incredibly well with our other vendors and made sure to capture the day perfectly. She truly makes you feel so comfortable that it’s hard to even get one bad photo. My husband and I loved working with her. You can see the true emotions captured in her pictures and she truly had an amazing eye for what makes an outstanding photo. She was quick to send us a few photos the day after the wedding so we could post them, and shortly after she gave a sneak peak! We love every shot we have seen and are so excited to see the full album in the next month or so. Sara’s joy and talent shine through in every photo. She is the photographer you want for your big day, your family photos, or just about anything because she makes you feel like you’re family! We cannot recommend her enough.

Sara is the ABSOLUTE BEST! Our relationship with this amazing photographer actually started several years ago when she took our photo at the The Grand Hotel on Mackinaw Island. My ...

husband then enlisted her to cover our engagement on the very same porch 3 years later. It was a no brainer to hire her for our wedding. Not only will she make you feel comfortable and beautiful, her smile is incredibly infectious, but she will get amazing shots you didn’t even know you needed. My mom endearingly refers to her as “the bulldog” after she went to great lengths to hang my dress on the gate of our venue for an incredible dress shot. She has the ability to jump in at any venue and maximize everything it has to offer. She is A DREAM to work with and I couldn’t be happier with our photos. We can’t wait to renew our vows so we can hire her again. 😊

. As someone who has lives on the island year round, she knows all the best spots to take pictures. I was a little bit high strung as a bride. It was going to rain on our wedding day (6-14-19) and I absolutely wanted to make sure we had outside pictures. Sara was flexible and rearranged our schedule so we could get the pictures we wanted. After our ceremony, we took a ride around the island in our carriage to take photos. She was literally riding her bike and taking pictures at the same time!! She found stunning places around the island for us to stop and take pictures at. After our wedding, she promptly had our photos to us and then constructed a beautiful keepsake book. She is truly amazing. If you get married on Mackinac, you want Sara there to capture those precious memories. P.S. While on the island, I had many locals tell me I was so lucky to have Sara photograph my wedding because she is the best on the island. I couldn't agree more, I was pretty lucky :)

Sara is an immensely talented photographer who was an absolute joy to work with on our wedding day. She memorized what poses we wanted to have as a couple, and made sure that we go...

t every shot. She effortlessly posed us, our bridal party, and our families, creating beautiful pictures that we will treasure forever. She also came up with great ideas for some very romantic and creative shots, which ended up being some of our favorites. Her pictures are full of vibrant color and emotions, and she really captured who we are as a couple, as well as the vibe of our bridal party and our wedding. Plus Sara is a fun and charismatic person to have around. She’s calm and instructive, and instantly makes you feel at home in front of a camera. Sara also uses a wonderful second shooter, Will, who made the guys feel right at home, and really helped to capture our entire wedding day. I can’t recommend Sara and It’s Wonderful Photography highly enough!

r personality, insight, and experience allows her to capture moments that will take your breath away. She was so easy to work with, had great communication, and left me at ease on our special day. Even my husband (the non-photograph take) said that she made him and his groomsmen feel relaxed and that they could be themselves. “Not that stuffy experience I’ve had before” were his exact words! I can’t imagine having the same experience with any other photographer! Sara is truly the best and I’m forever grateful!

I am so thankful we chose Sara to be our wedding photographer. I was so nervous the morning of our wedding because one of my fears for our wedding day came true: RAIN. Sara quickly...

calmed my nerves, helped me make the decision to move our ceremony to a covered spot, steamed my dress throughout the day, made continuous runs with me to the hotel salon so we could fix my hair from the rain, and of course took the most beautiful photos! I obsessed over Sara's instagram since we got engaged, and somehow the photos turned out even better than I expected. She really listened to me and used her expertise to make everything perfect. When the rain stopped, she pulled us from the reception to go outside so I could get my dream photo in front of Grand Hotel. I was so happy, I wasn't even thinking about more photos, but Sara knew it was important to me, and it turned out to be my favorite photo. She also made my husband and I feel so comfortable, and she kept the attention of our 20 person wedding party! With her energy, fun spirit, and contagious smile, everyone in your wedding party will look their best. I can't recommend her enough. She is amazing.

What an incredible experience My wife Katie and I chose It’s Wonderful Photography for our wedding. Sara is so incredibly talented and her eye for detail is perfect. In saying that...

she made my wife and I feel comfortable and safe and we enjoyed every minute with her. She captured every shot that we wanted and some we never even thought of. Sara didn’t only capture the pictures she was able to translate the mood. She told a story from the time with the bridal party before the wedding. Then myself and my groomsmen waiting for Katie to arrive at the church. The Ceremony itself. Then the carriage ride where she followed on bike and took amazing photos making are way through town. She had beautiful backdrops selected for Katie and I to take pictures by the boardwalk. Then we pulled up to The Island House Hotel where she masterfully wrangled both are family and friends, 150 guests. She captured all the beauty surrounding that amazing venue and made us feel so incredibly special. The reception photos are amazing and everyone at our wedding was represented. Katie and I looking back at the photos can’t believe she didn’t have more photographers with her in her ability to take so many pictures with such variety. If you are looking for the best experience with a photographer stop looking! Sara , at It’s Wonderful Photography is the only choice for you. Professional and so incredibly kind and only wants to make that day perfect for you. Thank you Sara you will always be part of our memories on that special day. Joe and Katie Doolen-Flynn
