We got married at Ivy Hills in October 2023 and had a wonderful experience from start to finish. Reggie, the event coordinator who took over midway through our engagement, was abso...lutely phenomenal. She is incredibly responsive, kind, detail-oriented, and willing to work with you to bring your vision to reality.
The really nice element to Ivy Hills that informed our decision in selecting them as a venue is that they are a one-stop-shop. We relied on them for our ceremony space, reception space, catering, and bartending. The venue looked stunning and they took extra care to light the fires on the veranda during the evening, moved TVs around where we wanted (or didn't want) them, had the outside area meticulously landscaped, had the ceremony and arbor setup well in advance, implemented the plated dinner perfectly, as well as all our special orders for alcohol. Plus, the food was delicious.
The alcohol is the only area that I believe requires careful mention...we found their alcohol package to be somewhat lacking (no craft beer even on the premium package, and the wine was just okay) so we worked with them to order some local craft beer and nicer wine. It was incredibly expensive (albeit pretty easy logistically speaking) to order these items through them. That said, we certainly could have stuck to their package and not spent the money! This was our prerogative and shouldn't necessarily be considered as a negative towards the venue. I mention it only, because this is information I myself would have appreciated knowing beforehand.
Back to the positives! The really really awesome thing about booking with Ivy Hills is that they are first and foremost a country club, meaning event rental is not their primary revenue stream. As a result, we had so much flexibility with the space we rented for the weekend in terms of when we could come and go, when we could drop items off, etc. So many other venues I looked at held 3 (or more!) weddings in ONE weekend and you were simply given your allotted time for your rehearsal or ceremony. Ivy Hills only commits to one wedding a weekend. This made the entire experience totally stress-free. We chose our own start times for the rehearsal, ceremony and reception. I cannot speak highly enough of how beautiful the venue looked, how amazing all the staff were, how amazing Reggie was, and how nice it was to have the entire rented space basically to come and go as needed throughout the weekend. Yes, there may be golfers around when you're doing the rehearsal, but they politely cleared out during our ceremony the next day--it was a nonissue.
Whatever problems they may have been working through in 2022, they are solved and in the past now. We had a stellar experience with them and got so many compliments on how beautiful the venue was and how friendly and competent the staff were. Reggie even brought up snack boxes to my husband and I after the ceremony knowing we wouldn't get down to the cocktail hour as quick as the guests and might be hungry. She rocks.
I can't recommend Ivy Hills enough!
