We had the pleasure of working with Rumi as our lead same-day coordinator and planner for our wedding on August 3, 2024 (Ajay & Megha). She was the first vendor we booked, based on recommendations from friends who had worked with her previously, and we couldn’t be happier with our decision. Often, she resolved these matters before I, as a bride even became aware of them. Rumi, we knew we wanted you to plan our wedding the moment we saw how beautifully you had planned my nephew’s—and, for the first time, witnessed an Indian wedding that ran exactly on time! From the start, as the lead planner, you were incredibly organized and took the time to understand both Brian and me. You found the balance between my love for all things dreamy and Brian's grounded, logical approach. You also made it a priority to understand what mattered most to both of us and our families, and you delivered flawlessly at every step. Your family became like our family—whether it was your cousin stepping in to help or your son assisting with cake tasting when we couldn’t make it, we always felt so cared for. On the day of the wedding, your team (and even your husband!) were there for us in every way. You made sure we were fed and hydrated, knowing how hard it is to step away from guests. You even knew the best people to care for our dog, Emory! And let’s not forget: you steamed all of Brian’s clothes. Who does that? You’re not just a planner; you’re a wedding wizard with a checklist for everything! Your dedication is unmatched. I still remember you saying, ‘Don't worry if something happens to me or I get into an accident, my husband and Jalpa will be there to take care of everything.’ To which Brian replied, ‘I hope your husband is with you at the hospital if that happens!’ But that’s the level of commitment you bring that made us feel so reassured (and kept us laughing). Our daughter's wedding was a dream come true thanks to our amazing event planner, Rumi. Rumi was our lead planner and she went above and beyond to help us! Jalpa and her team were absolutely incredible, and helped make our wedding weekend go as smoothly as possible! From the start, Jalpa was so organized and methodological with every step of the process. Three words for anyone reading this: book J2R now! Rumi was our lead wedding planner for our destination wedding in Cabo in December 2023. She was an absolute joy to work with, meticulous and efficient in her work, and endlessly committed to making our wedding week a success. Our first meeting with Rumi was about 15 months before our wedding. Rumi was so warm, welcoming and kind. She was honest and laid out exactly what we needed to know in regards to timelines for planning, budget and cost, vendor selection, etc. She learned about our dream vision, our likes/dislikes, the things that were non-negotiably important to us and our families. We could see immediately that she was going to put her heart and soul into all that she was going to do. More importantly, it was immediately evident to us that she LOVES what she does and truly enjoys the process of helping couples achieve their special day. Rumi helped us select our vendors (which was a huge relief). She did thorough research, offered us the best budget friendly options and asked questions to the vendors that we wouldn’t have otherwise thought to ask but was ultimately important to know. Even though she and her team handle multiple weddings at a time, it felt like she was only there for us. She kept us on track in terms of timeline and we felt ahead of the game the entire time which was a GIANT relief. The last month leading up to the wedding, she met with us weekly over zoom to put all the final details together, planned meetings with all our vendors to meet together, and even talked to each of our families separately and then together to iron out all the timelines of wedding week. Before we knew it, wedding week was upon us. rumi flew in the same day we did and immediately got to work meeting with all the vendors in person, finalizing decor, coordinating with our on site resort team, and helping prepare welcome bags, doing final walk throughs etc. Rumi triaged everything and handled it so well. It was also here that we met the remainder of the J2R Team: Tarak Shah and Jalpa Patel. We had just met but felt like we had known them for years. They were so enthusiastic and looked after us so well the entire week. Together the entire J2R team was a cohesive and seamless unit, extremely efficient and communicated with each other flawlessly. Rumi was patient with our families, showed them utmost respect, and most importantly, did this all without letting the stress of it reach the bride and groom. She made sure the older family members had Indian food to eat at the resort, she ensured that food was sent to both the bride and groom as we were getting ready, made all of our guests feel so comfortable and most importantly for an indian wedding, ensured thar EVERYTHING ran on time. We were amazed at how she did this, never once missing a beat and always with a smile, completely calm under pressure. On wedding day itself, Rumi, Tarak and Jalpa’s communication was meticulous and our entire wedding was a success because of them. We could go on forever about how amazing Rumi is and all the details that she handled so perfectly but if you really want to know for yourself, hire her as your wedding planner. It was the first and best decision we made during our planning process. We have and will continue to refer her to our family and friends for their future events. Jalpa was our full time planner for our wedding in September 2023 and she did an incredible job. She was very flexible and available to answer texts or calls whenever we needed. She was able to guide us through every step of the process from picking the venue to hiring all the vendors. She was very realistic and practical and gave us recommendations based our our budget. She is very familiar with all the local vendors and was able to guide us to choose the ones who best fit our wants and needs. The weekend of our wedding she was hustling to make sure everything was perfect and her expertise and professionalism really showed. She was able to handle some unexpected complicated matters with grace and without overwhelming us or our families, which we are extremely grateful for. For us, the decision to invest in a wedding planner wasn’t easy, but looking back, it was probably the best decision we made out of all the thousands of choices we had to make over the past year of wedding planning. In Chicago, there are multiple wedding planners that specialize in South Asian weddings, but hands down we cannot express how invaluable Rumi and her team at J2R events were in helping our big day go off without a hitch. She was incredibly detail-oriented, seamlessly blended customs from both sides of the family, and just had this natural talent for planning for every expected and unexpected twist in each of our events. As a bride, working with Jalpa at J2R events was an amazing experience. We first connected with Jalpa about a year before our wedding upon recommendation from other brides. Jalpa at J2R Events was our wedding planner for our wedding in Indianapolis in August 2023! My wife and I started our wedding planning process in 2022 and Jalpa was recommended by a close friend as someone who "gets things done." And she 100% got things done. Wedding planning can be a long and stressful process. You want to work with a planner and vendors that will help take that stress off your plate so you can focus on the important things - like enjoying your engagement! The best part of working with Jalpa was that it did not feel like she was just a vendor - but rather, she was a partner in our special time that truly cared about our well being, our wishes, and our happiness. The unique thing about our wedding was that we were based in Chicago and we had mostly Chicago vendors traveling to Indianapolis. This could make logistics a bit complicated but with Jalpa's leadership, there were no issues at all. Our wedding day was orchestrated perfectly, and our friends and family were blown away by how organized (and on time!!!) everything was. J2R are the best!!! Rumi was our lead planner for our hybrid Indian x American wedding ceremonies and we honestly could not have done any of it without Rumi and her team. They were not only helpful for the things we knew about, but we're so diligent and helpful in finding blind spots and making sure everything went off without a hitch. My wife and I have very vocal and opinionated families, and J2R made everyone feel welcome and coordinated even though each event included half of the guests not knowing anything about that the cultural aspects of that event. When we began our wedding planning process, we didn't know where to start. J2R was recommended and Rumi became our full-service lead planner. It was by far the best decision we made. She helped us navigate through choosing vendors, communicate our wants and needs, and advise us on decisions. Rumi is very easy to work with and helped keep us sane during the planning process. She's meticulous and very detail-oriented, which is exactly what we needed from a wedding planner. Jalpa and her team were truly flawless. We hired her as a day-of coordinator and she went above and beyond for us. She was thinking of details we wouldn't have thought of and was able to create a detailed and accurate timeline. She was commanding enough to keep us on track and get things done, but flexible and kind enough to make us feel more relaxed during the day. Her team thought of clever and effective solutions to issues that popped up on the day of the event (including dress malfunctions!). The days she and her team were present were the only days my now husband and I had the time to eat with our guests! I cannot recommend her and her team highly enough. My now husband and I worked with Rumi from J2R Events as our lead planner for coordination of our big day in August 2023. We have only great things to say about Rumi and her team. Rumi got involved about 3 weeks before our wedding day, and she was immediately on it! She began contacting and coordinating with our various vendors and had multiple Zoom calls with us and our parents to address the smaller details as well. Leading up to the wedding day, Rumi did an amazing job of balancing questions from us, our parents and the vendors with patience and attention to detail. The spreadsheet she created to track the timing of our wedding day minute-by-minute was so helpful as well in the planning process for both us, our family and friends, and the other vendors. Once the big day came, Rumi and her team handled every little detail. We even had one larger issue pop up, but Rumi literally saved the day by phoning in one of her many vendor contacts to come and help handle it last minute. Since I am not originally from Chicago, finding local vendors (that catered to both cultures) was extremely important to us and we LOVED every single one of them. Jalpa and her team made sure every wedding event had been planned perfectly and made sure to execute the timeline flawlessly, as well. My husband and I were so impressed with how Jalpa and her team kept us on time, brought us food and drinks during these events, and packed up everything so there was no stress on us after these events. I am so happy with how everything turned out and I owe all the planning and execution to Jalpa Patel and her J2R Events team. We are truly touched by how special our wedding was and how much fun we had planning our wedding with Jalpa. Jalpa and her team made my day stress free and perfect. I used them for day of coordination and she ended up working with me 4-6 weeks out. Jalpa was the Lead Planner for my Daughter’s wedding on October 8, 2022. She and her team are absolutely amazing !! We had 5 events and each one was planned and executed perfectly! My wife and I recently got married this past summer of 2022. We had a rather large (700+) Indian wedding and reception on the July 4th holiday weekend and it would have been impossible without the help of our Day-of coordinator, Jalpa with J2R Events. We felt unprepared the year leading up to our wedding, but as soon as we started having our conversations with J2R we felt more and more confident our day was going to turn out how we wanted it. Planning a wedding is super stressful but little did we know even after confirming all of our vendors that we still would need a planner! Jalpa was the lead planner for our wedding and reception events and she made everything absolutely FLAWLESS and ON TIME (this was the biggest need of ours). Jalpa makes a minute by minute timeline for your events and meets with you prior to your events to ensure that you both approve of it. Rumi and Jalpas husband were also present for our wedding event. They stayed back at the venue to coordinate morning breakfast while Jalpa helped to coordinate our first look at Bahai temple. For our reception we decided to not join our cocktail hour, but Jalpas husband didn’t fail to keep us full on our appetizers and signature drinks, even before we thought about wanting more, we see him walking towards us with more food and drinks! We truly felt like royalty with them two around!! To be honest, we thought we’d be okay without a planner, but we are SO glad we knew we were wrong before it was too late. J2Revents will make your day as stress free as you could possibly imagine, we 110% recommend you have them as one of your vendors. Rumi & Team— Where do I even start!!!! Rumi and team were the absolute best and are one of the major reasons that our wedding day was as perfect and amazing. Payal and I got married on August 20th of 2022 and with how stressful big events can get, Rumi was there for us and make sure we continued to stay encouraged, and most of all, excited for our big day. With the experience Rumi and the team bring, they helped us in various ways throughout the day. Even if we had last minute suggestions, she and the team were so open and accepting of everything we wanted, no matter how difficult it was to pull off! J2R Events is TRULY fantastic!!!! My husband Priyank and I got married on July 16th, 2022. On our first consultation with Jalpa, her energy and passion for weddings and event planning was truly evident. She has an amazing knowledge of all vendors in the Chicagoland area and across the nation and had an incredible fund of knowledge. In the stressful throws of booking vendors and planning a wedding during COVID, Priyank and I were already sold. I am so happy we chose J2R. Our wedding was particularly challenging as we chose Chicago as a destination wedding for our guests. We were flying over 250 guests into the city (downtown might I add!), many of them having never been to Chicago before. I am so glad we picked J2R with their deep knowledge of the city and its vendors, our guests were in great hands. Jalpa helped us with every aspect of wedding planning, from vendor meetings, decor planning, itineraries, and small details. She thinks of the little things that we wouldn't have even thought of. When we faced hurdles, we would get immediate responses from Jalpa at all times and she is truly an incredible problem solver. And then the WEDDING WEEKEND. It was an absolute dream. All thanks to Jalpa, Mitul and their team. They took care of everything so our family could truly relax and enjoy the wedding. She kept everything on time, not only on time, but we finished our wedding ceremony almost THIRTY MINUTES EARLY. How does that happen for an Indian wedding?!? Absolutely everyone commented on the ease and flow to our wedding and I attribute that 10000% to J2R. They took care of all of our vendors, many of whom came from out of town. They managed our families beautifully, ensuring everyone's wishes were prioritized. She also ensured Priyank and I had our special moments that were important to us - our first look, our photos with our families and grandparents, our toasts with our bridal party before the wedding, photos in front of the Chicago skyline and more. Because we were so stress free we could be so present in these moments. Not to mention right after the wedding, Jalpa filled our Google Photos with 100s of photos and videos so we could relive these amazing moments as we await our official photos and video! We weren’t sure what to look for when we were looking for a day of coordinator, but I didn’t really need to think twice after getting off the phone with Jalpa.
