. He learned two songs by Hozier for our processional and I couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out. My dream was to walk down the aisle to a live guitarist, which he was able to do. He checked all of our boxes that we wanted in a DJ, as he was able to do the DJ services, microphone setup, live music, plus lighting for the dancing. He brought SO much energy and our dance floor was packed all night! Jack was great with communication and we ended up having a few in-person meetings at Colectivo before the wedding. He followed our guidelines of our do not plays and he was perfect with setting the right vibe for each part of the day. Jack is amazing at his craft and I would recommend him 100x over to anyone getting married!

Hearing the violin as I walked down to my husband just made the whole moment so magical. He is extremely professional, very thorough, and really gets to know you as clients, which I loved. I had several song changes throughout our planning process and he kept up with every singly one because he is so organized. What I really liked about working with Jack is he almost doubled as a wedding planner... he helps you plan out the sequence of events from grand march, to speeches, to first dances and asks you questions you haven't even thought of because he is so experienced. He also kept up with my many specific song requests for specific moments of our day. The day was better than I ever imagined thanks to Jack and his hard work. I highly recommend JBMS for your wedding, you won't regret it!

Jack was super professional since the moment we reached out to him. He always responded to emails super quickly and made everything he needed from us very clear. He also kept our wedding on schedule as an emcee with smooth transitions. He arrived early to scope out the wedding venue which was new to him, and we really appreciated that! Throughout the entire process we really enjoyed working with a self-employed DJ rather than a DJ company. Overall, we would highly recommend Jack to DJ any event you’re planning!! the party going! Our dance floor was busy, and both the older and younger crowds were happy with the music selections! His sound equipment is also high quality, and everything sounded crisp and clear, and the uplighting he did looked amazing. I could not have found a better DJ!

Our friends are still talking about how fun it was, months later. It was exactly what we wanted, to spend the evening dancing and having a good time with all of our friends and family! Jack was super easy to work with and listened to what we wanted every step of the way. Of all our vendors, he was also always the quickest to respond to emails/messages. But my favorite part of our entire wedding day was a moment that we didn't plan. The week before the wedding, I had sent Jack some last minute song requests. There was a particular song we requested, Hello Hello by Elton John, but I wanted a particular version that wasn't on Spotify (from the movie Gnomeo and Juliet, Elton John ft. Lady Gaga). I noticed he hadn't said anything about the song in his reply, and in all the crazy busy days leading up to the wedding, I didn't have time to care or think much about it. Then at our wedding reception, later in the night during the dancing, we had pizza come out and almost everyone left the dance floor. Then we heard Hello Hello start to play, so my husband and I rushed back onto the dance floor. Then we realized, it was the verison ft. Lady Gaga that we had wanted! It was such a nice surprise, and it was perfect timing because we had the dance floor all to ourselves. It was honestly probably even better than our first dance. We were so grateful to Jack for surprising us with that special moment. Thank you again for making our day so special, Jack!!!

For the ceremony he worked well with our organist and my brother on the clarinet as well. hy did we pick it, when should the song start, when should he end it, etc. When it came time for the wedding Jack set up on time and was ready to go with all of his own equipment, even lighting. He kept things moving quickly during the dinner without making things feel rushed. Jack even went around to each table to make conversation and entertain before dismissing them. When it came time for my wife and I to have our first dance, we mentioned to Jack that we only wanted to dance to the first verse and chorus. But Jack let the song play on. He saw how much fun we were having, how we were enjoying our special moment together, and he let us enjoy it for as long as we could. At that moment the whole world melted away except for me and my wife. It was one of the best parts of our wedding, and we have Jack to thank for it. Jack really came into his own once everyone joined the dancefloor. He played the perfect mix for us and our guests. Punk rock, classic pop, emo anthems, heartfelt slow songs, guest requests, and even some of our favorite heavy metal tracks. Jack played the right song at the right time every single time. We still get compliments on Jack’s music selection. Do yourself a favor and hire Jack for your wedding. Don’t do it just because he has great music taste. Don’t do it because he’s a great entertainer. Don’t do it because he has his own gear. Hire Jack Boatman because he truly cares.
