He came the day of the wedding prepared and helped make everything go smoothly, and once we opened up the dance floor, everyone had a blast. We cannot recommend Jack enough!

And it's all done by the same wedding professional! I would love nothing more than to lend my talents and experience to your amazing day. Here's more details about what I can offer:
- the highest quality dance floor speakers on the market
- song-specific software-scripted light shows
- an MC who keeps everything running smoothly
- extremely responsive and organized. Like having a second wedding coordinator!
- wireless, color-customizable uplighting for any venue space
These are also some things you WON'T have to worry about happening when working with me (anecdotes collected over time from various guests & vendors I've met who recounted these somehow true horror stories about other DJ's):
- playing the wrong first dance song
- playing roughly a minute of the correct first dance song before audibly saying they 'have a better one', and switching to another song
- suddenly skipping to another song after only 30-60 seconds of a well-received song has been played, all night
- ignoring couple's playlist entirely & refusing to play requests (even from the bride & groom!) after voicing complaints
- several seconds or even minutes of dead air between songs due to DJ leaving their station to take frequent smoke breaks
- excessively talking over the music
- 'ad-libbing' on another microphone while a loved one is giving a speech
- suddenly transitioning to special parts of the reception (Grand March/speeches/first dances) without notifying photographer(s)/videographer and making sure they're prepared and able to capture
- becoming inebriated by unprofessionally indulging in the open bar
- canceling last-minute because they weren't organized enough to realize they had double-booked for over a year

Jack Boatman is a Milwaukee native with an extensive background in music. He obtained a B.S. in Music Education from Case Western Reserve University in the spring of 2018. He prides himself on being an accomplished multi-instrumentalist, having played the violin for over 20 years and picked up several other instruments along the way, including guitar, drums, bass, and banjo. When he's not playing music and working weddings, Jack likes to play video games, rock climb, and hang out with his fiancee Mara, corgi Chester, and cat Bean.

There are SO many reasons to choose Jack over any other DJ! Jack gave us as much time as we needed during our meetings with him over the year. He had no problem discussing every de...
tail and brainstorming wedding day ideas (schedules, games, music, etc) while still letting us be in the driver's seat. He always had timely responses to emails or texts. We chose the Ceremony Package and Jack not only let us choose between guitar or violin for live ceremony music, but was also up to the challenge to play two live songs he had never played before and absolutely crushed it. Most impressively, Jack was extremely adaptable and able to handle an unexpected thunderstorm and power outage with ease. Even though so much changed due to rain and moving our ceremony indoors, Jack took the changes in stride and made it feel like it was the plan all along. We felt like Jack was there to make the day perfect for us; he helped us get a huge group photo, kept us on the dance floor all night, played requested songs, and helped us change the reception schedule on the fly. We can't recommend him enough and by the end of this all, he wasn't just our DJ, he became our friend.

ishaps and missed cues but Jack was perfect through it all. He rolled with the punches and turned those mishaps into moments of elevated excitement.
Like truly our wedding wouldn’t have been perfect without him killing his job and picking up the slack that occurred elsewhere!
And that’s all just the logistics and stress of a wedding. He also was an immaculate artist too.
We gave him our ideal dance floor playlist in no specific order and he curated it into the most exciting party of our life.
He also played the violin live for our ceremony and brought us to tears with how beautiful he made that moment.

sure the wedding day was as smooth as it possibly could be. He was understanding and an advocate for all of our preferences, which allowed for so much peace of mind. He showed up in plenty of time to set up all of his equipment to make sure everything was running seamlessly, and checked in with us mutliple times during the wedding to help us stay on our timeline (yet was flexible when we wanted to make changes!)
As a side note, we asked Jack to splice many songs for important dances and he is super talented at it... overall, he is just super willing to put in the extra mile to make everything super special.

During the planning phase, Jack gave us a wide range of options and was extremely flexible, allowing us to customize every part of our ceremony. One of the most special touches was that he learned and performed our processional music live on his violin. Hearing him beautifully play our selected pieces as I walked down the aisle was unforgettable.
Our ceremony music was not simple either — we incorporated classical selections from Mozart along with music from Zelda — and Jack executed every piece flawlessly. The transitions were seamless, and the live performance added such an elegant, personal touch.
When it came time to celebrate, Jack completely shifted gears and kept the energy high all night. He played an amazing variety of music and even took requests from family members (including some fun pika music requests!), making sure everyone felt included and out on the dance floor.
Beyond the music itself, Jack was professional, organized, and easy to work with. He collaborated seamlessly with our wedding planner and officiant, which made the entire day flow effortlessly.
If you are looking for a talented musician, a versatile DJ, and someone who genuinely cares about making your wedding special, we cannot recommend Jack enough. He was a huge part of what made our day so perfect.

It was one of my dreams come true, and Jack was willing to work any music into the ceremony that we requested of him. He did a beautiful job, and we are still getting rave reviews from family and friends about how cool it was to have a live musician. During the reception, the dance floor was full all night, thanks to Jack! Everyone had a blast, and we are so happy that he was able to keep the dance floor full up until the last second. nsure we were on the same page. During these calls, he took the time to understand our vision and preferences, providing valuable insights and guidance.
Jack also used one of his many talents and played violin during our church service/electric violin during our Cocktail Hour, which was AMAZING. He was super accommodating with our requests and made our ceremony and Cocktail Hour absolutely special.
We had a huge wedding and Jack did an incredible job getting people to listen to speeches and ensured the order of events went orderly and on time.
The dance itself was an absolute blast and Jack’s lights/sound/music made the dance floor unbelievably fun. Jack perfectly knew when to mix in slow songs, and expertly played our wedding playlist to make it the best night possible.
We can’t recommend Jack enough and he seriously made our day SO special. He will help make your big day less stressful while also adding such a special touch with his musical talents. This man is the total package: DJ, Emcee, and amazing musician!

Jack was well prepared, easily shifted when we requested changes to music, and took song requests for our guests to dance/party the night away, or the sweeter side of playing first dance songs of others that I requested to surprise a few close couple friends in attendance. He even texted an audio clip of his live playing of our song so we could hear it 1-2 weeks before our wedding day. We had zero unknowns leading up to our day because he is that organized, dedicated, professional, and great. He even stepped in to help with the timeline a bit since we did not have a day-of coordinator. Thank you, Jack, for being a highlight for us and our guests! We’re recommending you to everyone.

He took charge as the M.C during our dinner, helping to organize everyone while taking extra care in the details. He made sure to know about every member of our 14-member wedding party and even specially called out my grandparents' 60-year marriage during the anniversary dance.

We were not able to use his skills with violin, but his DJ at the reception was great and many guests complimented the music throughout the day. Our party was the older crowd type so we ended earlier than anticipated, and he made it so special with the last couple of songs! Having a great DJ makes the day even better. Highly recommend him to any bride or wedding planner!

Jack was an absolutely fantastic DJ for our wedding. We were originally interested in Jack due to his ability to not only provide DJ services, but also provide live violin playing....
We took advantage of his talents and had him play during the procession which made it extremely memorable. He was also a great communicator all the way from planning the music, guiding everyone through rehearsal, and to finally making sure everything went as smooth as possible on the wedding day. Jack truly made it easy to let him know what music we were hoping for and he delivered with providing a great atmosphere for us and our guests. Overall we would highly recommend Jack to anyone looking for DJ services!

able to play violin or guitar during the ceremony/cocktail hour. He learned two songs by Hozier for our processional and I couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out. My dream was to walk down the aisle to a live guitarist, which he was able to do. He checked all of our boxes that we wanted in a DJ, as he was able to do the DJ services, microphone setup, live music, plus lighting for the dancing. He brought SO much energy and our dance floor was packed all night! Jack was great with communication and we ended up having a few in-person meetings at Colectivo before the wedding. He followed our guidelines of our do not plays and he was perfect with setting the right vibe for each part of the day. Jack is amazing at his craft and I would recommend him 100x over to anyone getting married!

ist. For example, during our processional, the bridal party took longer than anticipated to make their way down the aisle, but Jack extended the song with ease, and no one noticed. Hearing the violin as I walked down to my husband just made the whole moment so magical.
He is extremely professional, very thorough, and really gets to know you as clients, which I loved. I had several song changes throughout our planning process and he kept up with every singly one because he is so organized. What I really liked about working with Jack is he almost doubled as a wedding planner... he helps you plan out the sequence of events from grand march, to speeches, to first dances and asks you questions you haven't even thought of because he is so experienced. He also kept up with my many specific song requests for specific moments of our day.
The day was better than I ever imagined thanks to Jack and his hard work. I highly recommend JBMS for your wedding, you won't regret it!

Jack was super professional since the moment we reached out to him. He always responded to emails super quickly and made everything he needed from us very clear. He also kept our wedding on schedule as an emcee with smooth transitions. He arrived early to scope out the wedding venue which was new to him, and we really appreciated that! rfectly. My husband wanted to create the playlists for the cocktail hour and reception, with songs we liked and that we knew would get our friends and family dancing. Jack let us create playlists on Spotify and he used songs we had picked and made it all come together. It truely takes an expert to read the room and keep the party going. Our venue host even commented that ours was the first wedding she had seen where there were constantly people filling the dance floor, the entire night! Our friends are still talking about how fun it was, months later. It was exactly what we wanted, to spend the evening dancing and having a good time with all of our friends and family! Jack was super easy to work with and listened to what we wanted every step of the way. Of all our vendors, he was also always the quickest to respond to emails/messages.
But my favorite part of our entire wedding day was a moment that we didn't plan. The week before the wedding, I had sent Jack some last minute song requests. There was a particular song we requested, Hello Hello by Elton John, but I wanted a particular version that wasn't on Spotify (from the movie Gnomeo and Juliet, Elton John ft. Lady Gaga). I noticed he hadn't said anything about the song in his reply, and in all the crazy busy days leading up to the wedding, I didn't have time to care or think much about it. Then at our wedding reception, later in the night during the dancing, we had pizza come out and almost everyone left the dance floor. Then we heard Hello Hello start to play, so my husband and I rushed back onto the dance floor. Then we realized, it was the verison ft. Lady Gaga that we had wanted! It was such a nice surprise, and it was perfect timing because we had the dance floor all to ourselves. It was honestly probably even better than our first dance. We were so grateful to Jack for surprising us with that special moment. Thank you again for making our day so special, Jack!!!
