About this vendor
First things first. Throw out any preconceived notion of what a wedding picture should be.
Let me guess: you're looking for a wedding photographer who can tell your story in a unique way while avoiding awkward poses and fitting into your day like one of the guests. You're not looking for cookie-cutter images (or shall I say biscuit-cutter?) because you ain't no cookie or biscuit. You're a blimmin' fun human who wants an jaw dropping documentary and cool pieces of art to represent your special kind of love.
I want to create the pictures that YOU want,
I want to work with people that are playful and have a sense of humour. Perhaps they’re a bit quirky, but they are definitely down for creating something that feels fresh. I want to create the pictures that my clients want, full of real emotion and flipping cool. Think that might be you?
FULL OF REAL EMOTION & REALLY FLIPPING COOL.
For my own wedding, I wanted to feel like my photographer was a friend —
So it was important that we got to know our photographer. (She ended up staying with us for the weekend and we've been friends ever since). I know what it's like to plan your own wedding from absolute scratch, so I want to offer not just my photography skills but share my experience of planning my own wedding and consulting on hundreds more! I understand what it's like to be overwhelmed by schedules and timelines that aren't going to plan and “what if it rains and what if the light is bad…” etc etc. I have been in so many different tricky situations and come out the other side having created a wonderful body of work and offered what I think is pretty great experience.

Where to begin with Jack…
From the very first call, Jack was beyond helpful. He was incredibly kind and warm and gave us so much wonderful insight and guidance for our engagement ...
shoot. He even drove to Chicago to photograph us, and the entire experience was so comfortable, natural, and fun.
Having Jack there on our wedding day meant the absolute world to us. He made the morning so fun and enjoyable while also helping ease our pre-ceremony nerves. He brought such a calming and positive energy to the entire day, and somehow made everything feel effortless.
The photos he captured were so creative and completely beyond our expectations. He delivered them so promptly, and every single photo is absolutely stunning. We have received countless compliments—not only on how beautiful our photos are, but also on how fun, personable, and enjoyable our photographer was.
Jack truly went above and beyond for us, from our engagement shoot all the way through our wedding day. We are so incredibly grateful we had him there to capture such an important chapter of our lives. We could not recommend him more!
Jack is the most incredible human I have ever met. He made our wedding day a dream. From our engagement shoot to wedding day. He captured the most beautiful and precious moments. I...
was blown away by his talent. Everyone loved him. Couldn’t say better things about him. You will be nothing but grateful to work with him!
Jack did an amazing job shooting our wedding! He was non stop moving all day to get every angle. Even my guests noticed and said what a great job he did! He was very personable and...
energetic. We just got a few previews back from our wedding two weeks ago and I can’t wait to see the rest! I will never stop recommending him!
Words cannot describe how amazing Jack is but we’ll try! Jack made us feel so comfortable from our initial call and was a true professional throughout the process but most importan...
tly connected with us like a friend, which is something we were really looking for. Jack’s eye is unfounded - he captured moments we wouldn’t have thought to get throughout our wedding day and made us both feel so at ease in front of the lens, which is a feat as neither of us like to be in the spotlight. Jack also made our day feel so relaxed, we never felt any pressure for getting “the shot”, yet he provided the most incredible photos of us and friends and family. Do not hesitate to book with him, you will absolutely not regret it! Our friends and family have complimented our pictures to no end and have resoundingly mentioned how magical, glamorous, beautiful and chic they look. We are so grateful for him and could not have asked for a better partner in our day!
We could not be more thrilled with our choice to have Jack be our wedding photographer. He helped with so many aspects of our wedding; he recommended our lovely welcome reception v...
enue (shout out to the Jam Handy), he was flexible when we requested his services with an additional wedding ceremony, and during our events, he served as our time keeper/hype man/overall helper. Oh and our photos were absolutely stellar. From our engagement shoot to our wedding weekend, he made us comfortable behind the camera, capturing genuine moments with expert artistry. We were lucky enough to get married at the Detroit Institute of Arts, and he made sure to come to our rehearsal to scope out areas that would work well for the following day. We had so many friends and family who commented on how amazing he was, in personality and photographic genius. We were all in awe of how he captured our emotions, in a way that brought us back to that weekend. Our out-of-state friends were talking about how they would love to hire him someday. If you need a wedding photographer, you will not regret reaching out to Jack Hoyle.
Jack was the photographer for my wedding at the Gem Theatre in Detroit in August 2024. My wife and I found him through the Knot and were really impressed by the energy, motion, and...
emotion he captured in his photos.
We had an initial zoom meeting, an engagement photo shoot in Detroit in May, and then our wedding in August. Jack was professional, responsive, positive, has a great sense of humor, and was great to work with through all of this.
My wife and I aren't accustomed to photography, and Jack did a great job of bringing out the best in us in both the engagement and wedding shoots. He works quick, made us laugh, and was able to find some really interesting, creative, and beautiful shots in places I would never have expected. I was very impressed with how quickly he got our engagement photos back to us, and even more impressed with the two-day turnaround on our wedding preview photos. Can't wait to see the moments he captured throughout the night.
All in all, Jack was an absolute pleasure to work with throughout the wedding process, and especially on the day of our wedding, and I recommend him highly.
After attending dozens of weddings and being part of the wedding party in another handful - there was one photographer that was considered for our big day.
what you get with Jack ...
is an absolute professional with the confidence and demeanor to command even the most rambunctious wedding parties.
his eye is truely special and was described by our MC as a "guerrilla photographer" for his ability to blend into the dance floor (even at 6'7) and get some incredible shots.
the height also is great for the angles you need and if more height than that is called for he is also a great drone pilot and able to take some awesome shots from above.
at the end of the day, you want quality - kind hearted people at your wedding and most importantly, Jack fits that bill.
Hes a true asset in every way for you big day.
We love Jack. He's personable, experienced, funny, and tall so he gets all the good shots! All jokes aside, Jack was professional throughout both the engagment shoot and the weddin...
g. He knows how to handle people, he knows the shots you should have and also the ones you didn't know you needed but that end up being your favorite photos in the whole bunch. Our photos were beautifully done, and now the only issue we have is choosing which ones to frame. Best wedding decision we made, and it'll be the best one you make too!
Jack was wonderful! He took stunning photos at my daughter’s wedding! Can’t wait to see the final photos since the previews were perfect!

ure so much love at our wedding, not just of my husband and me, but between our guests and family. Jack does an amazing job capturing moments and peoples’ personalities. We had a massive wedding party with a bunch of rowdy guys and Jack handled everything so well! Great photographer and personality. We had a great time hanging out with Jack on the wedding day and he made the day very easy for us. Love him and his work!
Jack is an exceptionally talented photographer, but most of all a wonderful person. He’s the type of guy you want as a guest at your wedding as he brings such positive and relaxed ...
energy. He’s FUN and a great communicator. I was actually not looking forward to this part of the wedding experience before meeting Jack, but working with Jack turned out to be one of my favorite parts. He’s incredibly accommodating, supportive, and his work speaks for itself. He’s able to capture the more traditional shots in such a beautiful and creative way. Our engagement photos and wedding photos are perfect and more than we could ever had hoped for. We both feel like we hit the “jack”pot. Every time we look at our photos and Jack’s work on our wall we feel inspired to love more. That says it all. Highly highly recommend working with Jack.
We had a fantastic experience with Jack for our wedding this year! Professional, easy to work with, and beautiful pictures. What more can you ask for?

r wedding photos. He sees beauty in every small moment that is shared between family and friends and knows how to capture it in the most meaningful way. His photography reflects who he is as a person! Just down to earth, family oriented and so appreciative of life’s blessings. My husband and I highly recommend Jack and to us he is more than just an amazing photographer, he has become our friend.
Jack did our engagement and wedding photos, and we were absolutely thrilled with how they turned out. So many other wedding photos are dark and moody, but we knew that wasn't refle...
ctive of our relationship, so we were looking for a photographer whose photos felt vibrant, joyous, and unique. Jack nailed all of those things. Our photos are incredible, true to our personalities, and reflective of the tone of the day. Even the photos from the dancing at the end of the evening feel lively and bring you right back to the exuberance of the moment. It felt impossible to narrow them down for an album because there were so many wonderful options (a great problem to have).
On top of this, Jack was responsive, had great ideas, and was so much fun to work with. If you're looking for amazing, one-of-a-kind wedding photos, I cannot recommend Jack highly enough!
Jack is THE BEST. He is fun to work with, made us feel so comfortable, and produces absolutely beautiful work. Would give 10 stars if I could. Thank you, Jack!

We had to postpone our wedding due to covid, and Jack was extremely helpful and accomodating with any changes. We also recieved a wedding preview of our photos so fast after the wedding! We are beyond happy with our photos, and our friends and family still tell us how great it was working with him! Thanks Jack!!

My wife and I feel like super models looking back at our pictures, I get emotional every time we look back through our photos. This wedding photographer was everything an more! We saw his work and booked him right away Pre- Covid. Once things got scary with the pandemic he was so accommodating and helpful....
And even though we had to change plans he showed agility and a sense of warmth and understanding to us as a couple. Even jumped in as a groomsman helping the groom hurry to get ready so that we could get the shot! There isn’t a more talented, kind photographer we would rather work with and made our engagement and wedding photos even more special then the moment in our lives. If you want an EXCEPTIONAL EXPERIENCE choose Jack!
I heard about Jack via word of mouth, my close friend had hired him for her wedding. We were planning our own wedding and reached out to him ourselves. We initially met Jack at a l...
ocal hangout where he showed us some of his work over a beer. Within minutes of meeting him, I knew we wanted to hire him. He was easy to talk to and comfortable to be around. His work speaks for itself. We started with an engagement shoot, which can be awkward to say the least - not with Jack. I honestly had so much fun walking around our town taking photos to share our engagement news. The photos themselves were delivered quickly to us and are absolute treasures. We hired him for our destination wedding, and I'm glad we did. Our plans were 'in movement' and Jack went with the flow. He is beyond professional but is so good at his job that he also felt like one of our guests. He blended in and everyone we spoke with loved him.
My second favorite thing about hiring Jack is that he photographed my friends' wedding! It was wonderful to connect with him and see him capture my friends' special day as well! Don't forget to recommend him to all of your friends and family!

suggestion to help keep us going. I knew that he would be the best person to handle our wedding photos and he did not disappoint. One of our shots is so iconic, we all look like the Oscar cover of Vogue Magazine!

shoot, photography plans, and wedding needs the last two years! My brother and sister-in-law were married within a year before us and Jack Hoyle was their photographer. We enjoyed his work and personality so much that my husband and I wanted to use his services and talent too! were located in New York, and Jack offered to fly out for our engagement shoot. He was super fun to shoot with and was very patient with my husband and I, as we both had never done a shoot! It was so much fun exploring with Jack!
On the day of our wedding, Jack made sure that everything ran smoothly and it was truly stress free! My entire wedding party kept complimenting me on finding Jack because they truly enjoyed working with him.
Following the wedding, Jack was very communicative regarding when we would get our photos back -- we were never left out in the dark. My husband and I would truly recommend Jack any day out of the year to any one and everyone!
I could not have asked for a better experience with our photographer. Jack is incredibly to work with - easy to talk to, great to bounce ideas off of, and he works so hard to make ...
sure your wedding day is captured the way you truly envision. We had to change our plans so many times due to the pandemic, and Jack was there through it all and communicated frequently to make sure it was perfect for us. He worked through our timeline, gave us creative direction and listed to our ideas. He made me and my husband feel really comfortable (when we hate being in front of the camera) and captured every moment of our perfect day. He spent time before our wedding day scouting our spots for us so he knew what to do when we got there for our actual photos. We had a time-lapse and a wedding book included in our package, and I feel so grateful that those are something I can look back on, pull up for friends and family who couldn't attend and they are truly able to get a feel for our day because of the way that Jack captured it. Jack is also really innovative with the way he takes photos and will think outside the box to get you really unique images that are unlike any other. I am so glad we booked him for our wedding - you can't go wrong! He cares about the end result for you and will work tirelessly to make sure you are happy at the end of the day!
Jack was exactly what me and my husband were looking for. He was such a caring and down to earth person who showed how much he cared when it came to capturing the perfect moments. ...

otice he’s even there taking pics, he was always in the background but getting the best pictures! My whole family loved him so much for how kind and polite he was but also was so good with following along with our traditions and getting all the shots. 10/10 would recommend him entirely!!
Jack was the photographer for a friend’s wedding and after seeing the photographs of her big day, we were hoping to snag him for our day! Unfortunately Jack was already booked for ...
our wedding day on Sept. 26, 2021, but even so, he was nothing short of professional, communicative and helpful in our interactions. I was especially grateful when Jack offered to send me recommendations of other notable photographers in the area that were available for my date. He was under no obligation to go to the trouble for us, but did anyway, and we were so appreciative of that gesture. It was a clear sign to me that Jack cares about making someone’s wedding experience special, whether they are his client or not. Thank you, Jack!

rything (and there were 20 of us - not an easy task). He was so flexible with us - we had to push our wedding back and change venues a couple of times. He is so passionate about what he does AND he has a drone. Super cool. He's simply the best!

riend by the end of it. We were working on a pretty limited schedule and had to move our wedding up a day and to a new venue, but Jack was able to accommodate us without any problem at all and took it all in stride.
He had great location ideas when we did both our engagement and wedding photos, and captured the spaces in ways that we never could have even thought of. The photos turned out looking amazing and everyone we showed had nothing but incredible things to say about them. We're so happy we chose Jack for our wedding, and couldn't be happier about how everything turned out!

My husband and I were both stunned with how well they turned out, and by how much fun we had doing them! We couldn't have asked for anyone better to capture our special day; not only were the quality of the shots spectacular, but Jack is a fun, interesting individual to be around, and kept our wedding guests entertained :) We LOVED working with him!

ld him we hadn't had any grandiose ideas for our engagement pictures and just wanted to shoot them at our house and in our backyard. He was able to do such an impressive job with such a small idea - it was natural, romantic, and fun. It also rained on our wedding day which was supposed to be outside. Even though the rain came, our pictures didn't have a blemish. Jack was prepared to get as many shots outside as we could, he was improvisational when needed, and he was able to get all the family shots we wanted as well as many shots of everyone in the moment. Our wedding party and guests loved him and the atmosphere he brought to our wedding. We are extremely grateful for the work he did, and I would recommend him to anyone with an upcoming wedding or desired photo shoot.
