Jacquelyn was lovely to work with for the most part, and we were very impressed by the artistic quality of the photos. The photos ended up taking twice as long as she told us it would take. We were at the beginning of the wedding reason and it still took 16 weeks to get our photos back. We contacted her at 8 weeks, and she said they were almost done, and then it still took 8 more weeks. She also took a while to respond to emails. She was very sweet on the day of the weeding.
I’ve seen Jacquelyn in action twice. The first time was last summer at a friend’s wedding. We were so impressed by her gorgeous images and her wonderful demeanor that when it came time to hire a photographer for our own wedding, we didn’t even have to shop around.
Jacquelyn has a gift for capturing the genuine joy of a special day, without making photo ops overly fussy or taking up hours of your wedding day with stiff portraits. She snaps the teary hug, or the curious dog just as it happened — and her processing results in images that have that same dreamy glow as happy memories from the day.
On top of her artistic talent, a major reason to hire her is her presence. She’s kind and calming and pleasant to be around. At our intimate, 12-person wedding, there was no feeling of having a stranger among closest friends and family.
Jacquelyn’s flexibility as our plans changed multiple times in the face of the pandemic, and her adherence to public health guidance endeared her to us even more. We took precautions with our guests in advance to make sure that we could gather as safely as possible during the pandemic. Jacquelyn carefully observed Covid protocols — mask, distancing, etc — so we felt very safe having her there to document our wedding in these difficult times.
I thought my wedding day was so beautiful from my own eyes as I lived it. But I truly saw how beautiful it was when I got my photographs back. To live that day from the eyes of someone who was able to capture even the smallest most beautiful details, sometimes even things I never imagined to be beautiful, like my son crying in my husbands arms, is incredible. I’m not sure how she has the ability to see and capture the beauty in the most special but also most insignificant parts of the day and I’ll forever treasure it. I relive the happiest day of my life over and over when I look at my photos. I appreciate the time she takes to capture so many candid moments rather than a bunch of posed moments as well. It’s a story through photos and I’m so glad we chose her to tell ours.
As a wedding photographer myself, I can say that Jacquelyn is an excellent photographer. She captures emotion without being intrusive, cares about the people and the process, and makes incredible photographs that I will treasure for the rest of my life.
Jacquelyn is truly an artist above all else. Hire her if you are looking for outstanding candids and brilliant emotional captures. Her vision is exceptional and she was an absolute pleasure to have alongside us during the wedding experience-- it felt more like having a friend taking our photos than a vendor by the time the wedding day came around. We can't recommend her highly enough.
Granted, I haven't seen the finished photographs yet but Jackie was phenomenal to work with. She was prompt at my house, dealt with me and my jitters and crazy family. She and her assistant Olivia were just really easy to have around and I know they got some really great shots.
