Best photographers around! Great people who are so fun to work with and made us feel comfortable to be in front of a camera. Our pictures were perfect and we would pick Jake and Katie over and over again for professional photos.

Jake and Katie were probably the best choice we made for our wedding day. They always made us feel like we had been friends for years, making our wedding day super comfortable. All of our pictures are amazing and there are so many! They even went above and beyond in making us a slideshow to share with family and friends as well as a surprise 8x10 and a lovely thank you note. We've heard how great they were from so many of our guests as well. I can't wait to recommend them to our friends!

If other brides are like me, after our wedding, my most favorable vendors were the ones that blended in with the motions of the day and did not need my direct attention, as many other things were going on at the same time. Jake Ford Photography is on that favorable list, and we are absolutely thrilled. Jake Ford Photography serviced our wedding in November of '12. We purchased the package in which Jake and his wife, Katie, would be photographers. They were very conscious of our desires and needs that we pointed out in the pre-wedding photography survey. Jake and Katie are both down to earth; it was extremely comfortable and natural to be with them during the day for pictures. It was noted during our wedding that our photographers were great working along side our videographers, as usually one tries to trump the other. I believe that is due to Jake and Katie being so flexible and really listening to the bride and groom's desires and also meshing well with other staff in the wedding. There were NO disappointments with the actual pictures or timing of receiving them back. And there was no questioning the rights of the photos, Jake gives the couple all of the pictures on two discs, easy to share on Facebook or print. My husband and I cannot say enough about Jake Ford Photography and would recommend them to anyone who wants reliable photographers, beautiful photographs, and a great memory of the most wonderful day in a couple's life.

My husband and I used Jake Ford Photography for our wedding and we could not be more pleased. Not only is he a friend, but a very talented photographer.. Wedding days can be crazy and brides can want all sorts of different things. Jake captured exactly what we wanted and respected our wishes in every way! He did what we asked and much more! We recently hired Jake to take family pictures - individual and group shots of our three boys. Jake was awesome! He was in constant communication with us before the appointment and was on time when it came time to meet for pictures. He was creative, listened to what we wanted and made sure it was fun for everyone. We just received our CD of pictures and my husband and I are having a really tough time deciding which pictures to print. I want poster size of everything!! Jake is honest, cares about his clients, loves what he does and is hard working. He won't disappoint you :)

Jake Ford did my engagements, and my wedding. His pictures are all over my house! My husband is not a picture taker,and does not like taking pictures. Jake turned him into a model. Jake makes you feel so comfortable, and does not like to make you into someone you're not, he likes you to be yourself and look like yourself in the photos. At our engagements we roamed around downtown Lynchburg with Jake and his wife Katie. WE HAD A BLAST. Jake was constantly coming up with new ideas, we left sad because the sun went down too quickly and we wanted 5 more hours with them. Needless to say we still got way too many wonderful engagement pictures! Our wedding was such a fun day with them, it was SO HOT! Most everyone did not want to take pictures outside, so Jake took them super fast and directed us quickly so we could get back inside. He knew exactly what he wanted, and what we wanted and executed them perfectly. He didnt care that it was blazing outside, he just wanted us to have perfect pictures, which we got. For the pictures I got, and the quality service I received I should have paid way more! Great guy, highly recommend his photography.

It's hard to find natural moments with my husband and I in front of the camera. Typically, when being photographed we (my husband especially, ha!) stand awkwardly and say "cheese" through our clenched teeth and hope for something decent enough to slap on a Christmas card. Jake and his wife Katie recently took our 8 year anniversary pictures and actually made us look like we knew what we were doing. It seems like these days everyone is a photographer and only care about the settings and the readings on their camera screen, but the real talent that Jake has lies in not only keeping up with that but also paying attention to what his subjects look like and are doing. From the directions from, "squeeze his arm" to "chin down, eyes up" I felt like I was being styled for a piece of art because Jake actually cares about how his subjects look and not just a sun stream through his lens. When we married 8 years ago, we skimped on a photographer and that's my biggest regret! Don't settle for less especially when you can get these two at such a great price point and who instantly makes you feel comfortable and at ease.

Jake Ford Photography has not only done my engagements, bridals, wedding rehearsal, wedding day but he has also taken family pictures for me and my hubby (and our dog) and he will be taking many more photos for us throughout the years. Our engagement session could not have gone any better. He made us feel comfortable, relaxed and even got my husband to genuinely laugh and smile :) And after the shoot we had hundreds to choose from because they were all so amazing. Plus, he worked with us to create a package for our wedding that included the engagements, bridals and wedding rehearsal and day. My bridals were perfect. His wife Katie was along for the ride for that one. We got to a local campground at the crack of dawn in order to get the specific lighting that I wanted. Katie has such an attention to detail and what's natural. Jake made sure that I got the shots that I specifically wanted and then he and Katie had all these great ideas for other amazing shots. They made me feel like a bride, after that shoot I was even more pumped about my wedding day. My wedding rehearsal was a bit insane. I had a lot of newbies in my bridal party and Jake and Katie did a great job corralling them to where they needed to go, making sure I had shots of me and the family and especially making me laugh. THESE TWO ARE HYSTERICAL. My wedding day was awesome and also insane. We had a first sight with Jake and our videographer present to capture the moment. He was jumping all around to get every shot from every angle! Yet, we honestly didn't even notice him. Jake Ford is very good at being subtle when taking those shots that require him to be in front during the ceremony. We definitely appreciated that. Not only was he an amazing photographer but when people didn't really get on the dance floor like we had hoped, he and Katie hit the dance floor and encouraged our guests to "get on out there"! My parents still talk about how much they loved "the girl with the curly hair" and "the guy with the beard" :) After the ceremony we took some quick family shots outside our venue. Jake did a great job rangling up the appropriate family members and making that as quick as possible. Jake honestly should have charged us more for the amount of work he did for us. Quality photography, hilarious guy, great service. Needless to say, I'm a big fan. Jake Ford, be prepared to be at every special moment in my life to make sure it's captured properly :) BOOK THIS GUY.
