We held our wedding here and loved it! We’re still getting rave reviews from our guests too. It was a beautiful venue with excellent food and service. Everyone at the hotel was so...
friendly and helpful. Our event planning experience was great; nice, easy, very accommodating. Megan who helped us every step of the way was a rockstar. We highly recommend!
Rooms were nice, our guests had no problems booking their rooms.
We got married at a high-end hotel in Santa Monica and used the Jamaica Bay Inn for our out-of-town guests. This was a FANTASTIC option. Our guests loved the location and everythin...
g about the hotel (including the restaurant and the bar). Management was terrific to work with and accommodated the extra rooms that we needed beyond what we had included in our contract. We also held our brunch there the morning after the wedding. You can't go wrong with the JBI.
This hotel was beautiful but not worth the extra headache that came with the poor staff. We started off planning and arranging everything with a food director, who one day they fir...
ed and never let us know. So a mere 2 months before our wedding I sent an email only to get a response from his "replacement" and her sidekick. Let me just be vague. They didn't give a CRAP about our wedding, or us being happy. It seemed to us like they just wanted it to be over so they didn't have to deal with what their food director had already put in motion. They didn't follow our contracts, they screwed up food and displays. They served our guests too hot crab cakes and more than one person complained about burning their mouth. I never even saw the chilled duck which supposedly there were a dozen trays... Pretty sure they jipped us there. My husband didn't see them either. We had mozzerella poppers and they didn't serve them on toothpicks or anything so our guests were asked to pick them up with their hands. The poppers are drizzled in olive oil. They opened our wine (@ $15 per bottle corkage) and put it inside where bar patrons could help themselves (and they were) and it would get warm. They also began opening bottles of beer (barely chilled and at FULL BAR PRICE, plus tax and tip) and just leaving them all over the place, mixing them with empty bottles and dirty dishes. They had agreed to direct our guests to the outdoor ceremony, and they didn't at all which left our guests, and anyone else who wanted, to wander through the reception set up to find their own way. They told us the morning of our wedding (1PM ceremony) that we couldn't check into the suite we had reserved as our bridal suite until 3 PM. And they made us rent a second room for TWO nights or they wouldn't let us get in before 3 PM also and if we didn't get it for two nights they wouldn't allow us a late check out so we would have to be out of the room by 11 AM. Funny that the next morning at 8 AM a maid came and OPENED our bridal suite door to clean our room. ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME!!! This hotel was frustrating to work with and in the end, NOT WORTH THE TROUBLE. And the woman and her sidekick who "took over" told me 48 hours before our big day that they wouldn't even be there the day of, so they left us to their waitstaff who had NO IDEA what was going on and clearly didn't give a crap either. After spending $500 on a cheese display (3 rounds stacked to look like a cake) they displayed it with some random strawberries and blackberries and left out the contract agreement of Fig Spread, or any type of spread for that matter, or anything to be able to eat it with. Just a big hunk of cheese and plates. It was so dissapointing. Our guests were running around with chunks of cheese and having to eat it by itself. I wouldn't reccomend this place to ANYBODY!!! In fact, I'd recommend to stay far from this terribly serviced hotel even just for a hotel, not a venue.
