feel comfortable when taking pictures. We didn’t have super specific ideas for our pictures, so we really looked to him to take the lead on where, when and how. James suggested Waterplace Park for our engagement photos, and we were so happy with the photos. We wanted to include my son in some of these photos too, and James did a great job coaching him in the pictures as well. Our wedding was at the Biltmore in Providence and James suggested our first look take place in front of the glass elevator, he coordinated it perfectly and snapped each step of it so that he could capture my husband’s face when he first saw me in my dress. We took group shots in the lobby and on the outdoor terrace. James recommended that we go outside about midway thru the reception to get a night shot of the Biltmore, this is something I would never have thought of, but am SO glad that he suggested it because the Biltmore looks gorgeous at night. James brought a second photographer with him on the wedding day so we could have one photographer with the guys as they got ready and the other with the ladies, this made us feel like nothing was going to be missed. Communication with James was great, he replies to questions right away. We received our engagement photos about a week after we took them, I thought this was great. Our wedding photos took about 3 weeks, which was fine with us especially since we went on our honeymoon right after the wedding.

hile we knew both James and Valentina through my and Valentina's family, we never really had a chance to sit down and speak with them one-on-one. As soon as we met James and saw his work, we knew we wanted to book him for both our engagement session (taken exactly a year before our wedding day!) and wedding. James is personable, has a great sense of humor, put myself, my husband, and our entire wedding party at ease, and was able to work around my multiple facial expressions (which sadly, I didn't realize I was making until after the fact! Sorry, James!). James was extremely responsive to my many e-mails over the course of my two year engagement and answered all of the questions that came to my husband's and my minds. From getting ready, our first look, our ceremony, and our reception, James and his second shooter, Shannon, didn't miss a second of our wedding day. When we received our photos back (over 1,400 of them!), we felt like we were reliving our big day all over again-- even the smallest moments, such as a wedding guest fixing my bustle, and our 14-month-old niece (and flower girl) having a blast on the dance floor in her pajamas. If you're looking for a photographer that is easy to work with, is responsive to questions/e-mails, and truly cares about your wedding day, my husband and I HIGHLY recommend James Anthony Photography!

website. They were exactly the type of pictures I wanted: some artsy, some classic, some more creative, some more traditional. From our first email exchange, I got a sense of his fun-loving personality, and knew that he would be a great fit for our less-than-eager-about-taking-so-many-photos kind of crowd. When you are as talented and experienced as James is, you can really invest some time in talking to your clients and making everyone feel comfortable, and he did just that. It was great to get to know him for our engagement shoot, and when we got those photos back, we were even more excited that he would be capturing our wedding day as well. From the moment he arrived, he was running the show (in the best way). We got so many shots I would’ve never been able to plan myself. Our whole bridal party was cracking up at his jokes and he put us all at ease right away. The photos of the ceremony and reception do just what they are supposed to do: remind you exactly how you felt in those moments. We will be able to relive the joy of our wedding day forever because of the photos taken by James. The vendors you choose have to be both professional and personable, and James is both. He was wonderful to work with from day one, responsive to all communication and accommodating every request, even patiently getting in a family photo with over 30 people! We couldn’t have entrusted a better guy with what is, in my opinion, the most important job on your wedding day. e Date and Christmas card. He was very professional but very fun to be around. He was go with the flow when things did not run exactly on time. He also photographed our Sikh wedding on the day before our civil ceremony. He was respectful of the culture and I am sure he got a lot of great shots. I cannot wait to see the finished product. will come and go so quickly they are not joking. I cannot believe how fast the entire day just flew by. Months and months of planning followed by a 24hr day that seemed to last 10 minutes! Looking back at all the pictures James and his staff captured for me bring me back and all I can do is smile! tos. They were romantic yet modern. I had some ideas for places I wanted us to shoot our pictures to match our personalities and James just ran with it and came up with great photos! I had one picture in particular that I wanted James to shoot for our Save-the-dates. I had arranged for the Avon Cinema to put up our names and wedding date on the marquis and James totally nailed the picture of us in front of it! Our Save-the-dates came out perfect and were the talk of the town! We had so much fun during the 2 hour shoot. My husband, who was a little nervous, felt completely at ease and is so happy James will be doing our wedding phtots. I still look at our pictures and smile! Our wedding photos came out amazing as well. James is so easy to work with and he got so many intimate and memorable shots from that unforgettable day. He captured so many unique shots of all of the wedding party and little details I couldn't see of my husband getting ready and even shots of my family and future husband as I walked down the aisle that made me cry when I looked back at the photos. He definitely captures every special moment throughout the day. He told us at one point, everything is a potential photo, and he took advantage of our beautiful Newport backdrop and all the gorgeous scenery! I would recommend James over and over!
