Speaking of her work, she has taken the most beautiful pictures of our special day, every photo captures something special. Our family and friends loved her and her work almost as much as we do :). I feel like she goes above and beyond and really makes you comfortable and like she is a friend not just a photographer. Not to mention of course the pictures are AMAZING! We have only gotten a sneak peek so far about 75 photos but we love them all and can't wait to see the rest. I did a lot of research before hiring a photographer considering when I lived in NYC I worked with a lot of famous photographers at a professional studio so I know a little about photography. You can tell the quality by looking at her pictures and her friendliness is just an added bonus. She was also prompt in returning any of my calls and got right back to me when I inquired. I can tell you she has great pricing very competitive but doesn't over charge. She has a ton of awards with the knot which is another bonus. You will not regret hiring her!

y husband was the one!!) We both felt so at ease with Jamie. We booked her immediately. On the day, Jamie brought intern photographers with her and we were happy to have them. They were also kind and courteous professionals. (Learning from the best!!) Jamie captured such beauty on our wedding day. Our wedding party had so much fun laughing and joking with her. And when we had our most intimate moments it was almost like she wasn't there which was great. I'm not one who likes having my photo taken but having Jamie with her camera on me all day long felt comfortable and easy. She directed us when needed and made sure to get every photograph we asked for. She also got creative with some silhouette photos (her own request, and as she is an artist of course I said yes!) She was genuinely happy all day. You could tell she just loves weddings. Kind and beautiful and with an amazing eye for detail I couldn't have asked for a more wonderful photographer (and interns!). back, very easy to talk to, and listened to/was on board for all of our ideas. We trusted her. Plus she worked within our low budget. We hired her the very next day. On the day of the wedding, having Jamie around just felt like having a friend with you at all times who just happened to have a camera. I think that's how she was able to capture so many genuine moments in our wedding album! She also went ABOVE AND BEYOND what was required of her as photographer. When we decided to stay behind near the ceremony location and grab a beer before heading over to the reception, Jamie drove us there herself! And when I realized I'd left my lipstick with with my mom who had already left for the reception, Jamie reached in her purse and loaned me hers! Jamie is ready for anything. I don't think anything would have thrown her off her game! And then there's the pictures... well, the pictures are spectacular. hern California girl, who grew up surfing and I always knew I wanted a beach wedding. When I saw on Jamie’s website that she is also a surfer and lives near the beach in Southern California, I thought she would be cool to meet. Then I looked at her photos and was stunned at all the beautiful weddings she has captured. My first email and phone conversations confirmed what I thought. She was super friendly, easy to talk with, and her enthusiasm for her job came across immediately. I signed the contract after our second phone call. She also emailed me a few weeks later letting me know she was running a special on photo booths so I gladly took her up on the offer! When I met Jamie in person, she instantly made me feel comfortable, quickly writing down every request: pictures with props and signs, and a sunset session with my husband. I shared with her every little detail such as my fiancé hates his picture taken, my parents are divorced and don’t speak to each other and my bridal party is 14 people total so how do you take pictures of that many people? Jamie quickly put me at ease. I knew she had the experience to back up what she said when she told me not to worry. On the day of the wedding, Jamie showed up with her second photographer (who was also super friendly and easy to get along with!) and immediately started taking pictures of my bridesmaids and me getting ready. She moved so fluently between us all I don’t think I noticed her half the time, and I appreciated the fact that it did not feel like a camera was constantly in my face. The ceremony was on a public beach and Jamie was so careful not to get the random bystanders in our pictures. She worked her angles to fit palm trees in as my husband LOVES palm trees! She made our wedding party pictures look natural, fun, and not “staged.” This came across because she is so relaxed and puts everyone in front of her camera at ease. My favorite part of the day was the sunset session with just my husband and me. Obviously with a sunset you only have so much time to capture the light and the clouds as the sun is going down. Jamie worked quickly, moved us around efficiently, and was great with directing us (my husband does not usually smile for pictures unless told to). It was just perfect. The rest of the evening continued smoothly. All I can say is that once I received the pictures (which came SO quickly, just a few weeks after our wedding!) I was amazed at how many there were. The night went so quickly I do not remember taking all those pictures! She really did not miss a minute of the action! The best part of Jamie B’s photography is that she gave my husband and me a lasting memory of the best day of our lives. Pictures are SO important and worth every penny (and Jamie is extremely reasonably priced!!) because they are all you have to relive the day. When we received our pictures, she had included a custom wooden box with our picture on it, a USB, and an 8x10 picture in a gorgeous wooden frame. She wrapped everything neatly and had real seashells attached to the ribbon. This is just another creative and personalized touch you should expect from her! Every Bride wants perfection and my Bonnie Jean was no different. On "The Day," Jamie showed up and started shooting non-stop for the remainder of the afternoon and evening. That shutter finger must've been sore and swollen! She calmly and patiently worked her way around the bridesmaids prepping and captured the candid moments perfectly. Her worked continued non-stop before, during and after the ceremony. The venue was a public beach (ceremony and reception) so there were plenty of tourists ambling about but Jamie managed to get the right shots at the right time without any annoying background distractions or nefarious photo bombers! As the Father-of-the-Bride I was with my daughter all afternoon, and Jamie as well, getting ready for that long walk down the aisle. Jamie's keen eye found the right backgrounds, the proper amount of shade and sun to enhance the beauty of the day, and she did everything to ensure nothing was left behind or forgotten. Everyone knows you cannot recreate most of what goes on before, during and after a wedding. Sure we can pose and re-pose for the staged shots, but the intimate and candid shots are what truly make the day special. It allows those who could not make the journey or those who only saw the ceremony and parts of the reception, to see everything. Whether it's a guest's dog peering out from under a chair or the father-of-the-bride trying to hide behind a column to wipe a few tears from his eyes (shame on you Jamie!), Jamie's work repeatedly displayed the essence of a true professional. Most people don't understand the technicalities of photographing people, places, and things. However, everyone understands the emotional impact of a great photograph. Exceptional photos rarely just happen. They are the result of an artist who gets the lighting, the people, and the action just right. Jamie accomplished all of this and more. Her work has given us a day that we can live and re-live ad infinitum. We shall be forever grateful for that. And yes, many of the photos continue to cause my eyes to "sweat" as I wipe the tears away! Hours and hours later, after who knows how many thousand photos, Jamie was still smiling and smoothly working about the venue. Surely she must've been exhausted but she did not show it. Jamie B. was already on the top of my list, due to her abundance of previous good reviews, but in speaking with her on the phone for the first time I felt an instant connection with someone who was both professional, organized, and truly cared that I would get what I wanted on my wedding day. It was important to me to establish this kind of relationship with my photographer, as I would meet her in person for the first time literally minutes before we would start shooting out wedding photos. In the months leading up to the wedding, Jamie helped me set up a detailed timeline for the wedding day (I was concerned about having enough time for photos as I would be wearing a traditional Western dress as well as traditional Indian attire and wanted to make sure to get coverage of both outfits before the ceremony started). Jamie is a busy, working mom, but she makes herself readily available by text and by email so that if scheduling a phone conversation was tricky for us, we could still be in contact whenever I had questions. Day of things went perfectly. Jamie and her assistant arrived at the venue before I did and were ready to go as soon as I had put my things down in the bridal suite. I didn't have too many particular photos that I wanted taken, so Jamie gave me great instructions and ideas for shots that she knew would look good. I'm sure many people have their own ideas about shots they want, but for me, having a photographer give clear, concise instructions that helped me look good was a big plus. Jamie quickly learned the names of each of my bridesmaids and was able to direct group shots just as well as my single and couples portraits. Jamie and her assistant stayed at the venue for 10 hours (!) and were tireless in getting great shots the whole night through. Jamie was even familiar with the Hindu ceremony that we did and some of her shots of the actual ceremony were really able to catch the nuances of the rituals we performed. As promised, within a week of the wedding we had an amazing sneak peek website set up that we could share with our close family and friends, and while we have yet to see the final, retouched photos from the entire day, I'm already so impressed with the proofs that I can only imagine how good the final prints will be. I would recommend Jamie B. to anyone and everyone and if you live in California you would be lucky to have her help preserve the memories of your special day.

Jamie is also very efficient. Since she never had shot a wedding at our venue, she did a great job of picking out the various backgrounds for our different shots by arriving early and surveying the entire country club, so that when picture time came for our wedding party, no time was wasted picking out where we were going to take the shots. She also did a great job at planning out the timeline for the day of the wedding based on our ceremony start time. We had the perfect amount of time to get in all the wedding party photos before the ceremony without feeling rushed. Jamie also brought her assistant, also named Jamie, who everyone also loved. She also did an amazing job dealing with our nutjob groomsmen. Jamie also published a sneak peak of the wedding photos less than a week after the wedding, which all our friends and family loved being able to see so quickly after the wedding. Both my husband and I are so happy we chose Jamie B to capture our big day. We highly recommend her for anyone in So Cal getting married! And once we start having kids, we can't wait to have family photo shoots with Jamie!
