mless. I had tried another company before finding Jamie’s, and the difference was night and day. The other trial was expensive, cakey, and full of hidden fees. With Jamie’s company, the contract was transparent, the pricing was clear, and communication was responsive and professional. I immediately felt at ease.
At my trial, I had asked for an updo, but Kelsie—with her professional eye—suggested I try a half-up, half-down style first. Unfortunately I did not listen to Kelsie and said to od the updo! But on my wedding day, I called an audible to listen to Kelsie and do half-up/half down, Kelsie absolutely killed it. She worked in my extensions flawlessly and made me feel like a true princess.
Melissa is just the sweetest. She listened to every little detail I wanted, made adjustments effortlessly, and gave me a natural, glowy look that lasted ALL day and night—through happy tears, hours of dancing, and nonstop celebration. I went to bed looking the same way I did when she first finished my makeup!
Both Kelsie and Melissa were not only talented beyond words but also such a joy to be around. They brought calm, positivity, and fun to such an important day. My bridesmaids and I all loved how radiant and natural we looked—so much so that one of them has already decided to book them for her own wedding!

ding was the best choice I’ve ever made! I’m not the type to get glammed up at all and was super nervous about looking “cakey”. But boy was I wrong! I had the pleasure of working with Gabby for my hair and makeup trial and showed her some pictures of what I envisioned looking like. Gabby surpassed my expectations and brought my vision to life! She listened to all of my concerns and what I wanted to change (which was not much). On the day of my wedding, Gabby and Jamie showed up full of energy and positive vibes!! They were AMAZING. Gabby was the picture of grace helping the room avoid conflict and pivoting my look. No one had any idea chaos had even taken place or that we were behind because of it. Everyone’s hair and make up stayed and looked great all night, they taught us how not to mess it up, and Gabby made sure I was good even though that was not her job. They worked so great together! Jamie worked absolute magic to make sure that my thick/straight hair wouldn’t fall out (even with all of the dancing that happened at the reception). lasting for me and my wedding party. The review isn't five stars because a pre-wedding communication issue added some stress to my wedding week. Specifically, Jamie's team told me less than one week before my wedding they needed at least five full hours to do our hair and makeup because they were understaffed. I am very sympathetic to staffing issues, but they didn't apologize or offer any real solutions from their end. Because they told me last-minute, I had to scramble to try to change our day-of timeline, and ultimately five hours was logistically impossible -- venue couldn't open any earlier, bridesmaid travel plans were set, etc. They said they told me earlier that five hours is "standard," but I reviewed our previous emails from the months before wedding and couldn't find that, and it wasn't in our contract. In the end we had four hours, and that worked fine. I would suggest they communicate to brides earlier and more clearly about their timeline needs, that they be sure to respond to emails right away if they have a concern, and that an apology goes a long way. One of our makeup artists called Philiadelphia (where I have family) a "trashy" city during my trial - I don't know what she meant by "trashy," but she may wish to be a little more careful about what she says in front of clients.

My hair and makeup trial was an easy, fun experience, and I left feeling both comfortable and confident with how I would look on my wedding day. Fast forward 3 years, and I still felt that way! The JDA team was so flexible and communicative throughout the entire process. Getting ready on the day itself was such a fun experience! The JDA team provided hair and makeup for myself, my bridesmaids, and multiple family members. Everyone was absolutely thrilled with their work and left for the celebration feeling so great about themselves! The JDA team was so fun to work with too--so easy to talk to and professional all at the same time. Working with them was such a great way to start off the day. I felt beautiful and confident the entire day. Our wedding was also on the first 90+ degree day of the year. It was SO humid out and I was sweating quite a bit throughout the day. But even with all of that, my makeup NEVER ran. I was truly shocked! Everything stayed in place the entire day--even with brutal Virginia summer humidity. The team truly did a wonderful job and I cannot recommend them enough. If you're thinking about booking them for your big day--do it!

oked later in the day). When I first met Kris for my trial, she was incredibly warm and friendly. She listened to what I wanted, was so kind when I opened up about insecurities, and generally made sure I felt 100% comfortable to tell her exactly how I felt so that I loved the end result. The trial was great: I really liked almost everything about the look, but Kris was super receptive to my few reservations and suggested changes that made it perfect.
On my wedding day, Kris and her team (including Jamie, who stopped by for the first hour or so despite being double-booked!) made the experience so relaxing and fun. I am so grateful to both Jamie and Kris in particular for taking excellent care of my mother, who never wears makeup and recently overcame a battle with cancer. Both women really listened to what she wanted and made her feel beautiful and confident in her new short hair. And when the hotel fire alarm went off in the middle of my hair and make-up (you heard me right!) Kris didn't even skip a beat, holding it together and laughing it off with me. Fortunately a false alarm, and we still finished up right on time. I really can't sing her praises enough.

Stevie was great with makeup, asking people questions and starting light for people who don’t normally wear a lot of makeup and adding more if it was needed. She was also very personable and easy to talk to through the whole thing. Stevie did both my hair and makeup, for the trial and the day of. I was glad that I did the trial because I usually don’t wear makeup, so Stevie and I were able to try different things so that we knew what the game plan was for the day of. The only issue we had was the hair comb I had in my hair fell out a few times after Stevie and Samantha had left, but we were able to remedy it with some bobby pins. Jamie, the owner, is very nice and all communication is through her. There were a few times that I had to send a follow-up email to verify she had received an email, but overall, everything was great.

Second, the quality of the work was incredible! I didn't have a clear vision of what I wanted my hair and makeup to look like ("I want to look mostly like me/ natural, but a bit better"), but Jamie's team nailed it! Despite it being a muggy September evening, my makeup looked great all night and into the next morning. I changed how I wanted my make-up to look from how it was at the trial on the wedding day and Jamie hit the nail on the head with it. A few bridesmaids asked for changes in their hair after it was done, but Jamie and team were wonderful in assuring each bridesmaid was happy with their look. I have never in my life felt as beautiful as I did on my wedding day, and I owe that to Jamie and her amazing work to make my wedding look perfect.

r. Jaime made it all happen so beautifully! I also had stainless red lipstick to match my red roses (requested by me) and my eyelashes looked gorgeous (best quality, didn't hurt nor bother me and I am fidgety) .
She made my vision come beautifully true! She always put me at ease, she was flexible, came to my apartment at 5:30am and even offered to bring starbucks! My makeup remained flawless throughout the night. My curls stayed beautiful, they were magazine worthy (words from the guests).
