Recently, we had some friends that are getting married ask who made our cake years ago? We exclaimed, Jan Kish of La Petite Fleur!! The cake was not only beautiful, it was absolutely delicious! And to this day, we still have friends and family tell us just how delicious our cake was! When I was first looking for someone to make our cake, I looked in many catalogs. At the time, the knot was definitely on my list to check out. There were quite a few wedding cake makers here in the Columbus region, but one specifically in our town, so I decided to give her a call. Jan was so kind. She provided me with coffee from her French Press and plenty of samples. They were all so delicious. So much more moist than any other cake that I had tasted at a wedding. I kind of assumed at the time, that her samples were better because they hadn’t been sitting in a large cake for awhile losing moisture, or some other reason. *Hint - I was proven wrong on our wedding day and our cake was still as luscious and delicious as her samples were! I had two other cake makers that I wanted to still check out so I kept my appointments with them, just to see. The others made beautiful cakes as well and provided samples. They were indeed good, but honestly, really not as good as Jan’s. Then a week or so later, we ran into Jan at the Diamond Cellar’s Engagement & Wedding event! My fiancé got the chance to really try all of her flavors and he fell in love as well. That, and Jan was super kind and considerate. She didn’t pressure me at all. We then decided that Jan Kish La Petite Fleur was the cake maker for us! The cake was amazing. It was four tiered and covered in beautiful fondant with flowers and a signature H emblem in gold. Everyone at our wedding told us over and over how great the cake was. The buttercream was amazing as well. We could not have asked for a more beautiful or delicious cake! To this day, we would still highly recommend Jan Kish La Petite Fleur! Jan Kish did our wedding cake(s) and they were fabulous! The trim around the bottom of the bride's cake matched the trim around the bottom of my dress. Her attention to detail and willingness to think outside the box, especially with the groom's cakes was awesome. My husband is a pilot and flight instructor and we chose several instrument images which she translated to the tops of cupcakes using fondant icing. We also chose to freeze the top of our wedding cake and saved it for our 1 year anniversary. We had white cake lemon cake, and the top was red velvet which is now a family favorite. If you want a cake that will be a standout then you can't go wrong with Jan Kish and La Petite Fleur.

Jan has made multiple cakes for our family and we love every one of them. My mom had a beautiful cake that matched her dress with a lovely Gingerbread castle. My cake was rustic with flowers that matched my colors along with an adorable Groom’s cake of our dogs. Jan has a great attention to detail and goes above and beyond!

Jan’s artistry and creativity are outstanding. She created a wedding cake that was unique, mirroring my daughter’s skills in embroidery. The plaques on the sides of the cake were framed and hang in my daughter’s kitchen giving her a daily memory of that special day.

Just being 100% honest...after doing our due diligence with several cake tastings. All of the cake designers decorated a lovely cake, but Jan Kish/La Petite Fleur also focuses on the couple, getting to know them, the flavor combinations and quality of the cake plus fantastic design!! It was a no-brainer to go with Jan. Plus my future son-in-law was psyched about Jan's sabering service! We feel totally blessed Jan was available on my daughter's special day!! ❤️.

Jan was a wonderful and creative partner in designing our daughter's dream wedding cake. She also designed a great Groom's cake reflecting the Groom's love of board games. The cakes not only looked wonderful but they tasted great! Thank you Jan for making the wedding extra special.

Jan did a phenomenal job! I gave her a heck of a challenge by requesting a vintage styled cake that was nearly as tall as I am. Words can’t describe the level of detail and artistic talent that she put in to our beautiful cake. We had three different combinations of flavors and they are ALL delicious!!! Picking flavors will be the hardest part of your decision because her samples will blow you away and make it so hard to chose! I love Jan, I strongly recommend her. She was so kind, attentive, and detailed and really made our vision come to life in the most unique way. Also, we froze some of the cake as tradition goes…two months later got a piece out and it’s still moist as can be, it will be hard to wait until our year anniversary to finish the rest!

Jan is an amazing talent. She will assist you whether you know exactly what you want or need ideas. Our cakes were amazing- from the beautiful simple and elegant wedding cake to the perfectly executed cheeseburger groom’s cake. They were equally as delicious as they were beautiful. La Petite Fleur made the perfect wedding cake for our wedding. We got married in The Shoe, August 1, 2015. The cake she made was a fondant of the Stained Glass window in The Shoe. She had told us that if we wanted to, we could frame the fondant of the window! PERFECT! I highly recommend La Petite for any bakery needs!!!

Our daughter’s cake was a marvel of floral decorations which was beautiful to look at and tasty to eat. Jan always provides tastings of the various cake layers and we enjoyed the chances to choose. The favorite of all was New England blueberry! Jan as always was receptive to all the ideas of the bride and groom and they could not have been more pleased with the result.

MY OH MY!! Where do I begin! Jan is by far the most incredibly talented person I’ve ever worked with. Her cakes are not only absolutely stunning, but tastes heavenly! It’s hard to find someone that has this much talent and dedication like Jan does. She communicates to you on every detail down to the last tiny thing to make sure it’s perfection. Jan Kish at LaPetite Fleur is the most creative person I know. Even though it is over 21 years now, when I think of our daughter Lisa’s wedding, I think of the beautiful cake that matched her wedding dress. I will be forever grateful for that memory.

Jan Kish made the most beautiful and phenomenal tasting cake for our wedding. I wanted cascading violets and her presentation of my vision was perfect.

Although it was 35 years ago it feels like it was yesterday! I never forget that day the charm the beauty the elegance was memorable and all of my dreams came true and to this day only remember the joy and happiness that was made possible by the expertise, professionalism and Calming approach(which by the way every nervous bride requires)by Jan Kish/ La Petite Fleur provided me! She made my wedding cake which was a rolled foundant decorated with the lace to match my wedding gown and catered my wedding dinner which the food was amazing and her catering staff were courteous and helpful and my guest to this day are complementing Jan Kish and all she did for us to make our day special and this was by far the best wedding we have ever attended!!!

We were very lucky to have Jan create delicious cakes and cookies for our wedding weekend. Prior to that, we had seen (and tasted!) her work at several events and we were always impressed by both the appearance and taste of her cake. For our wedding, we met with Jan to taste both cake and frosting/cream flavors. She was knowledgeable about what would taste nice with what, but allowed us the creativity to decide. She was also very flexible to having multiple flavors for our wedding cake. For our wedding weekend, we chose a lemon cake with exposed sides for the welcome dinner, 3 flavors for our wedding reception, and sugar cookies as party favors. She took the invite and save-the-date as inspiration for the oceanic colors for the wedding night sweets. Since then, we enjoyed our anniversary tier a year later and it still tasted great! I’ve also ordered another cake from her for a smaller celebration because we were so impressed with everything she’s made.

Ms. Kish was an integral part of making our wedding day so memorable in 1998. We were able to sample the flavors prior to placing our order. We especially loved the flavor combinations available and decided on different combinations for different tiers of the cake. We chose chocolate cake with chocolate ganache filling, yellow cake with cherries soaked in sautern filling, and white cake with raspberry filling. Additionally, she worked closely with our florist to incorporate the same fresh flowers in the cake that were used in the wedding bouquets. Despite the distance, she traveled 30 miles to assemble our cake. Years later and back in the Columbus area, I continue to order her delicious cakes for special occasions. After making the spectacular cake for my husband's 40th birthday, we received a handwritten note from Jan herself wishing my husband a happy birthday. Fast forward to my husband's 50th birthday, she helped me create a cake that resembled a poker chip. Her wonderful cakes, creativity and personal touch are what keeps me coming back.

Jan is the sweetest baker! Her Red velvet cake tastes amazing, and her cream cheese frosting is the best. She designed a cake for our small wedding and put so much detail into the design, it came out beautifully!

I turned to Jan for help for my nephew’s wedding during the pandemic. We opted for cupcakes in clear bags tied with ribbon that allowed for celebration but with safe serving. It was a small informal affair with boxed “lunches”. The cupcakes were the perfect touch. And they tasted a good as they looked. The small anniversary cake was really pretty but the couple chose to eat cupcakes then and freeze the cake for next year. A perfect ending to a perfect day.

As a male couple, my then fiancé and I were uncertain where to turn for a cake that maintained the celebration of our nuptials but was also 'masculine' in it's aesthetic. We looked at everyone we could find but the cakes were typically designed or decorated with more of the bride in mind. Jan had come highly recommended from others and when we met with her she had several ideas for us to consider. We had found a design online that we really thought spoke to what we wanted as a male couple; it was certainly a wedding cake, it was beautifully decorated with a fall-like theme in colors and sensibility and it looked like a cake we would be thrilled to have as our own. I was honestly apprehensive that anyone could re-create this amazing cake but Jan said she could do it and I put my trust in her. On the day she called us to see the finished cake I was speechless (no small feat!) It was absolutely perfect! She had handcrafted leaves, fall foliage, acorns and berries all out of Royal icing. They were stunningly beautiful! I wish I could post a photo! We were able to have the top removed and we’re able to keep them - we still enjoy having them in our home! In addition, she presented us with a small ‘midnight cake’ that matched our larger cake; this was for the two of us to share after the wedding. She also gave us a small boxful of additional royal icing leaves and acorns that she had made but hadn’t used. We gave these to family and friends as small tokens that they adored. The cake had multiple layers and two of Jan’s signature flavors and everyone who saw it and tasted it was delighted and impressed by it. Jan is a true artist and sweet lady to work with. Put your trust in Jan – you’ll be thrilled that you did!

I highly recommend Jan! She is very sweet and fun. She had my attention when we went for our tasting and she told us about the option to chop the top of a champagne bottle off with a sword!!! We had to reschedule due to Covid and our guest list was much smaller than planned for the final wedding date but she was very accommodating. The cake was GORGEOUS and delicious plus the sabering was amazing. I highly recommend adding that service to bring your wedding up 100 notches!!

Jan Kish came to our rescue after our wedding was canceled due to COVID-19. We were forced to do a private ceremony with 10 in our home instead and when I gave this update to Jan, she offered to do a variation of our cake for a smaller amount of guests and it turned out so beautifully!! We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful cake and such wonderful service. Thank you so much Jan for helping us to create a beautiful memory of our wedding thanks to the amazing cake you made for us! Would highly recommend Jan Kish!!!

Jan did a wonderful job on our cake! We were unsure in the direction we wanted to go in terms of design and Jan was full of ideas! The cake turned out beautifuly with the design based off patterns in my dress. Jan even came to one of my bridal fittings to see the dress in person! And not only was the cake beautiful, it was delicious. We had three differnt flavors in three different layers and all were wonderful! In addition to the cake, we also had Jan saber champagne at our wedding. It was one of the highlights for our guests! People are still talking about it a few weeks later.

I really struggled with finding a cake that I wanted for my wedding, but from the moment I saw Jan’s gum-paste peony flowers, I fell in love and not only wanted them for my wedding but wanted to save them as a momento of the day. They were beautiful matte white peonies and I can’t wait to look at them every day. Also, after the tasting, we had a unanimous decision that the daffodil lemon was the perfect flavor for us and it did not disappoint. We had lots of compliments on how delicious the flavor was and everyone wanted another piece the next day!

Janet's finished products will exceed all expectations! Simply the best in the biz! The only issue we had was feeling guilty about actually eating her artistic masterpieces :D

I met with Jan and outlined the vision for a very tailored, very personal wedding cake...with a little something extra!! She listened, made suggestions and gave advice. We decided on a two-layer oval cake with a hand-painted monogram in gold with lightly brushed burgandy outline on the side of the top layer and special saying painted on the side of the bottom layer with same color palate. Ribbon trimming gave a smooth, sophisticated finish. The 'extra' was a hand- painted (to exactly match!), hand-crafted keepsake figure of the bridal couple's four-pawed family member, darling Moose. He sat beside the cake and now resides at home as a treasured keepsake. The cake was absolutely delicious and moist and only a few crumbs remained after the guests were served. I can only tell you what my experience was with this delightful, uber-talented, experienced culinary artist. CALL and set up an appointment. She can make your less-is-more (like mine) or your over-the-top (wait til you see her albums) a reality. I will add that I have also had the wonderful opportunity to enjoy her cookies, mints, cakes and cupcakes (with her incredible buttercream icing) at different occasions which are fab as well.

It's impossible to represent how INCREDIBLE Jan Kish and her team at La Petite Fleur are...my husband and I were blown away. Jan spent quite a bit of time on the phone with me prior to our wedding to determine cake design (these were LONG conversations, as I was quite unclear about what I was hoping for), and she helped us find the most-beautiful and perfect design! Then, Jan SHIPPED our wedding cake to Washington State...and it arrived in absolutely perfect condition! She is an expert in getting a gorgeous cake to its final destination. Finally...our wedding cake was absolutely DELICIOUS. I have been to countless weddings where the cake was quite pretty, but tasted like cardboard...this was not the case with a cake from La Petite Fleur. The cake was moist and richly-flavored...it was just perfect. Jan also personally drove a cake to our East Coast wedding reception...and, yet again, it was stunning...and delicious. I cannot recommend Jan Kish and her team at La Petite Fleur enough!

The bride and groom had met on a climbing wall and she designed the cake with symbols of this sport, primarily ropes.  It was charming.  It also had to be transported by plane in two pieces.  Jan provided the know-how and the tools necessary to reassemble it on site.  It was delicious and much admired by all.

Working with Jan Kish is always amazing. She took the time to listen to our ideas and created the perfect cake for us. Not only was it spectacular, it was delicious! I'd give 6 stars if I could!

Jan is an incredible cake artist that matches what a pleasure it was to work with her! Jan was able to take our vision for our cake and turn it into just what we were looking for. The design was intricate, classic, methodical and beautiful. However, it was hard to focus on the look of the cake while eating the cake because it tasted so good! The cake was a huge hit.. nothing else got eaten at the desert table until the cake was gone. The experience of ordering my daughters wedding cake from Jan Kish was fantastic from start to finish! Her creative and artistic ideas at the cake tasting were enhanced by her cozy sitting room and wonderful samples. The day of the wedding the delivery of the cake went off without a hitch! The appearance of the cake was just exquisite! Upon cutting the cake we enjoyed the cake and filling flavors as well as the fondant! Every morsel was absolutely delicious!!! Jan's work is impeccable! Not only was it important to us for our cake to look stunning, but we didn't want to sacrifice TASTE. With Jan our cakes both looked gorgeous and tasted delicious too! The quality of her products and service exceeded our expectations. Our groom's cake was a personalized Monopoly board with so many details from the lives of both my husband and I. Our wedding cake was multiple tiers, each a different flavor, and its resembled that of my wedding dress. We had such a positive experience that we have even ordered birthday cakes and shower cupcakes from her since our wedding. Highly recommend!

I want to compliment Jan Kish of La Petite Fleur in Columbus Ohio, for the many creative and delicious cakes she has made us over the years. Give her just a little idea of what you are thinking, and she will come up with an award winning cake for the occasion. For my sons wedding reception on a Ohio River sternwheeler, she designed a beautiful three tier cake with a flowing blue icing, to follow the River theme. After reviewing many flavor choices, my daughter in-law had selected the White Swan as her favorite. But baking the cake in Columbus and presenting it on the boat was a significant challenge. She designed and baked the cake in Columbus and then had a two hour drive to Cincinnati. Jan then had to carry it down a steep hill from the parking lot, across a swinging gangway and up two flights of narrow steps. It was a challenging trip. Having the cake displayed as we cruised the River, was the highlight of the meal. And when served, the cake itself was fantastic and commented on by all. Our son Mike and bride Jessica were thrilled with the presentation and the compliments from our guests were the “icing” on the evening for us. Jan has also made a lovely cake when my wife and I redid our vows on our wedding anniversary. This was a two tier oval cake topped with fresh flowers. And she created a delightful retirement party cake for us, that was served at a fly fishing club. In this case, she made a full sized, old fashioned fishing creel. It appeared to be made of woven willow branches with a leather strap and silver buckle. It was displayed with all the accoutrements of a fly fishing day, including a box filled with realistic looking flies. At its side was a coconut trout ( for me), and a placard that said “Gone Fishing. It was charming and fun! We will keep coming back to Jan Kish, for the beautiful memories she has given us.

Jan Kish was the perfect person to pick for my wedding cake and wedding. She is such a unique and fun woman with an endless number of ideas for your cake and cake presentation. She made me my dream wedding cake with ivory and pink watercolor buttercream icing, adorned with gold leaf. The best was that she made me a 3D keepsake of my sweet French Bulldog Charlie to put on top of the cake. Not only was our cake beautiful but it was DELICIOUS!! Her choice of flavorings for your cake are amazing. Jane also performed a sabering of our champagne bottle for our champagne toast which was so fun and a special touch to our wedding reception! Jan is lovely and I will continue to hire her to make cakes for me for all of my big life celebrations!

In looking over my wedding photos I am affirmed in what I already knew.... the cake was clearly leaning while there was an indentation on the third tier. Also, the higher layers seemed to be sinking into their lower brethren. Also, Jan broke my grandparents’ cake topper, which was used at their wedding 50 years ago. (Good job icing the groom’s head back together!). For what it cost, I would expect perfection. Yes this was years ago. It’s been bugging me for years.

One of the most lasting memories of my wedding day was the exquisite cake designed by Jan Kish! To express my love for flowers, Jan created a stunning garland of delicate sugar flowers cascading down the side of the five- tiered wedding cake. Each flower was hand designed in soft rose or peach colored hues, and individual petals were tipped with gold. The cake was a beautiful work of art, admired by our guests. Equally important, our guests enjoyed the delicious cake, which was so moist and flavorful! There is no comparison to a cake designed by Jan Kish! In addition to the wedding cake, Jan provided a wonderful assortment of cookies for our dessert bar. The cannolis and monogrammed sugar cookies were a hit! Jan is both a talented artist and a marvelous baker. She is a professional with years of experience, and she has an amazing ability to create any vision. Finally, she devotes an impressive amount of attention to detail. It is truly a pleasure working with Jan!

Jan made a magnificent cake for our wedding!!! She alone designed the enchanting setting to go with our special event! She created 4 rolled fondant cakes that matched the lace on my dress perfectly and surrounded them with a gingerbread castle for the kids to enjoy! The entire scene was lit from within for a magical presentation! It was complete with a tiny little mouse scurrying over the drawbridge and a glass carriage. I cannot even describe all of the fine details that she put into this masterpiece!!! Besides being so creative, she was so easy to work with and professional! Jan was always punctual with our appointments and always kept in contact with me throughout the entire process. From the moment that I met her, she put me at ease and gave me complete faith that everything would go well. (At least I didn't have to worry about the cake.) I would describe Jan as a professional professional!
