Everything about Jan Serr and the Saz’s catering team for our wedding day was absolutely perfect! We truly couldn’t have asked for a better day, and everything ran so smoothly from start to finish. Throughout the entire process, communication was prompt and immensely helpful, making selections for food and rentals was so easy and fun, and the help we received during our rehearsal and wedding day was just unmatched. The venue itself is absolutely beautiful with something to offer everyone, from the views to the balcony to the architecture. We recommend this venue and team with everything in us! It was just in every way perfect, and the Saz’s team was such an integral part in that!

We had a great experience working with Katie and team for our 6/8/24 wedding at Jan Serr. Leading up to the date, Katie was extremely responsive and helpful. Everything is very well organized and communicated - the Saz’s team are pros! The venue is gorgeous and requires very little decor. The views can’t be beat and provide guests with a unique Milwaukee experience. The food, bar and service, all provided by Saz’s, was exceptional, and we received positive feedback all night. I had my eye on Jan Serr before we were even engaged, and I’m so glad we had our wedding here - they exceeded my expectations for our wedding day!

Jan Serr Studio made our wedding 06.01.24 an absolutely unforgettable experience. Katie of Saz's Catering led the way with organizing everything in preparation from our layouts, food tasting, menu choices, dessert, timeline. She also helped on the day of in every way she possibly could have. Truly above and beyond from what you would expect. Guests loved the food, and even more the stunning atmosphere Jan Serr Studio provides. The views are magnificent and the patio was a nice area for guests who seeked a quieter environment during the reception. All of the staff were extremely friendly, food service was steady, and the bar service was top notch. Overall, we had no complaints and would absolutely recommend the venue, Saz's catering, and Katie to anyone who is looking to get married. You cannot go wrong!

My daughter had her wedding on 03/23/2024 and it could not have been better. The communication before the event was exceptional, Katie coordinated the tasting and the chef was accommodating and responsive to adjustments. When we arrived at the venue everything was as expected. The venue was clean, staff was ready to serve and the views of the lake and the city were stunning. As for the service, it could not have been better, all staff (servers & bartenders) were professional, efficient, and timely. The food from Saz's is a must, it is plentiful and the taste is amazing. You would never believe that the food was produced in high volume, it is on par with what you would receive at a 5-star restaurant. Each food item was as discussed and the guests loved all the different options and raved about the quality. If you want a flawless event the combination of Jan Serr and Saz's is the way to go.

We got married 3/23/24 and had the absolute best time. The venue was stunning and hosted our group perfectly. Guests loved the quantity and quality of food! Katie helped us personalize our service and reception to best fit our needs and make the day special for us. The staff were wonderful and our guests noted the speedy and friendly service. We would highly recommend this venue to anyone getting married or looking to host an event! The views of the city and lake are beautiful and there is parking onsite to make it easy for guests to access. We loved our event team and are thankful for their help making our day perfect!

Jan Serr was amazing at helping our day be the best! We planned our wedding from states away and they were so flexible with our limited times to meet and accommodating with zoom and phone calls too! The week of, day of and day after they were also amazing at making sure everything went smoothly and was taken care of. Could not have asked for better!

Jan Serr Studio was my daughter’s first choice for a wedding venue. We were so impressed with our initial look at the venue and meeting with Katie, that we booked it on the spot. Katie was excellent to work with and so accommodating with our questions throughout the entire process. The night was positively perfect. We had so many compliments from friends and family during and after the event. The food , wait staff, and bar tenders were wonderful. We highly recommend Jan Serr.

We worked with Katie and Saz's and everything about this venue and Katie and Saz's made it by far a day we will never forget! The venue overlooks both the city and the lake and all of our guest loved the views! Katie and her staff were top notch all night and made our special day that much better!

My daughter's wedding reception was at Jan Serr Studio this past September. The venue was perfect!! Katie was extreme flexible and very easy to work with. The wait staff were very professional. and accommodating. The food was superb. We received many compliments from our guests that it was the best wedding food that they ever had. The views from the balcony and the huge window were beautiful. Dancing the night away in front of the magnificent view of the city was unforgettable.

JanSerr was an incredible venue for us to host our wedding reception! The outdoor (covered) balcony provided great views of the lakefront while the floor-to-ceiling windows offer breathtaking views of the city. Staff was excellent, food was delicious, and all our guests continued to rave about the venue. Katie was great to work with and helped handle all our requests timely and effectively.

The service was excellent and went above and beyond our already high expectations based on all the other good reviews. We are so grateful to everyone associated with this venue, and we got nothing but compliments all night about the venue, food, and service.

We are so thankful we selected Jan Serr Studio as our venue and we would recommend it to any couple getting married in Milwaukee. The giant windows gave guests a beautiful view of downtown as well as Lake Michigan. We had multiple guests say it was one of the coolest venues they've ever been to. We chose to have our ceremony and reception at the venue and Jan Serr Studio staff were incredible facilitating the change-over of chairs/tables to transition the space into the reception. We opted to add on the hanging lights and it was 100% worth the investment. The sales manager and event coordinators were very responsive to the many emails that came into organizing the event. All-around an excellent experience! If we were to do it all again we would absolutely choose Jan Serr!

We had the most perfect day at the Jan Serr Studio! From our first day touring the space, to the details of the contract, food tasting, and all the details, Saz’s Catering (and especially Karen, Katie, and Brielle) made everything so painless and fun. The space is incredibly unique and we had tons of compliments about how stunning it was. We couldn’t be happier with the entire experience!

Jan Serr studio was the most wonderful place for our October wedding reception. Aside from the gorgeous view of the lake, trees changing colors, and Milwaukee sunset, Katie and her team were extremely professional and attentive. I worked with Katie/Saz's/San Jerr for a little over a year and I never had a negative experience. They did everything in their power to give me my ideal wedding and I cannot thank them enough. I have been getting messages since the wedding regarding not only the beauty of the venue, but also how incredible Saz's food is!

We are SO HAPPY we decided to have our reception at Jan Serr! It was absolutely stunning and we received so many compliments on the view. We also loved having the outdoor space, which was perfect for photo opportunities. Katie was amazing to work with - she was prompt and detail-oriented, which was so helpful during the wedding planning process. This venue was a dream! The industrial style mixed with city views creates such an amazing ambience for a wedding or any event. The venue is super clean and spacious. Having the outdoor balcony was so fun as well. Saz’s is the exclusive caterer and I could not recommend them enough. Katie was amazing to work with, her expertise and attention to detail helped us build the perfect layout and flow in the space. The space is really completely customizable but so gorgeous all by itself as well. We loved that the table, chairs, linens were all included. We have absolutely no complaints! The venue, katie and team made our wedding day so perfect.

Jan Serr, especially Katie was the best to work with for our wedding venue and catering! Katie was extremely quick to respond and helped to accommodate for all of our specific asks. We did a few firsts at Jan Serr: (1) requested for cup ramen (Asian ramen noodle snack) as an added late night snack, (2) inputted a window installation to bring more greenery (worked with Jane Kelly Florals), and (3) had a Korean Drumming group perform right before dinner. All of this went so smoothly. Additionally, Katie would go out of her way to make recommendations to keep our schedule moving along smoothly and even ways to save on cost! Katie was extremely attentive and present throughout the whole planning process and especially during the tasting, final walk through, rehearsal, and the day of. She's a big reason the planning process went smoother than anticipated. A HUGE bonus is how delicious the food was! The plates we got were booked perfectly and most importantly not dry which is pretty common with wedding caterers. The food tasted just like it did during the tasting. Working with Katie from Jan Serr, Jane Kelly Florals, and Sound By Design, the venue was turned into a beautiful spot our guests had so much fun celebrating in. Lastly, this space is also used for performances and concerts which helped to ensure our sound quality was top notch. I had a friend that mentioned she thought the music was being performed live at one point because the sound quality was so great. Highly recommended and an extremely affordable choice for a wedding venue!

My husband and I could not be happier that we chose Jan Serr for our wedding! The views of the city and lake were unreal and our guests couldn't stop talking about how beautiful it was. My daughter knew this was the place for her wedding ceremony and reception the minute she walked in the hall. The views of the lake and city skyline were incredible. Katie was amazing to work with! My now husband picked out this venue and I fell in love with it too! We loved the industrial feel as well as all the windows!!!! Saz's was amazing as well. Everyone said it was the best food they had at a wedding! Katie was so amazing and helpful in the planning process. We want to relieve the day over and over!

Our hearts were so full choosing this venue! Jan Serr Studio and Saz’s exceeded all of our expectations (& our guests). From the very beginning, Katie was accommodating, easy to work with, professional, and knowledgeable about options for the space and catering. The venue truly is as beautiful as it is photographed (& even more breathtaking in person). Venue - We chose to flip the room and every detail was executed flawlessly. The back room was large enough for our entire party to hang out comfortably, touch-up after pictures, and store our belongings throughout. The cocktail area (Gallery) was a fun way for guests to enjoy drinks and appetizers while appreciating the installations. The balcony/outdoor area was important to us, so guests could get fresh air and/or to partake in our Cigar Bar without going too far (the view of Lake Michigan was an added bonus). The ceremony/reception in the main area was incredible… The high ceilings, large windows, open space, and view of the city were fantastic. The beauty of this venue is that you can use it as is and decorate minimally; or you can go above and beyond without feeling like you’ve overcrowded the area. Catering - We chose family style entrees and received so many compliments on the service, quality, and quantity of food. Everything was served warm and brought out/cleared quickly. The bar service was fast and very friendly – no awkward long lines with thirsty guests. We also chose the Late Night snack options (Saz’s Festival Station) and dessert (Greebies donuts) which were an absolute hit. We were so pleased to have been married at Jan Serr Studio! And it was an absolute pleasure supporting Saz's, a Milwaukee food staple.

We booked this space right before COVID not knowing what our entire engagement would look like. Katie was more than accommodating for our family making sure we not only had a great time, but everyone was safe! Working with Saz's in this space was also great! Their food was phenomenal, options were amazing, and the service was above and beyond! Our families cannot stop talking about our wedding from the beautiful space to the great food. I cannot recommend this space more, whether you have a party of 200+ or a party of 30 like mine!

Jan Serr was the perfect venue for our wedding reception. The outdoor balcony was great for cocktail hour and the floor to ceiling windows make this space incredibly unique - the photos don't do it justice. The food (through Saz's) was amazing and the late night options were so yummy as well. Katie was absolutely amazing to to work with. She was communicative and organized - especially throughout the ups and downs during COVID leading up to our wedding. She helped make our day a reality and was a dream to work with. Our guests had a blast and it is such a versatile space for whatever your vision may be!

We had a vision for what we wanted the space to look like visually and it turned out better than we hoped! Not to mention the food was amazing! We chose Saz’s without knowing them prior to selecting them and the food is as good as the reviews state. Our tasting was delicious and we didn’t expect the mass produced food for over 250 people to be the same quality as our personal tasting but it was just as good if not better! We had SO many compliments from our guests about the food. And lastly, Katie was an absolute rockstar throughout the entire process. She was quick to respond to emails/calls, so accommodating and overall just a great human and person to be around. The rest of the wait staff the day of our event was no different from Katie. All efficient, kind and exceeded expectations. We HIGHLY recommend Jann Ser Studio and Saz’s Catering.

We hosted our wedding at Jan Serr in July 2021 & wouldn't have had it any other way! We received so many compliments from our guests impressed with the space and the incredible views. Almost every person told us they'd never been to a cooler wedding spot in MKE before. Everyone raved about the food as well which is always rare to come by at weddings. The outdoor balcony was perfect for people to hangout during cocktail hour and to cool down during dancing. The views of the city and also Lakefront are what make the space so unique. The Saz's staff was incredible to work with, overall incredible wedding planning experience and would recommend this to any bride/groom!

Working with Katie at Jan Serr was great! She was very prompt in responses and did everything she could to make sure we had all the details we wished for all day including finding chandelier rentals for us and creating a unique late night snack. At first there were a few bumps in the road as we started planning in 2019 with Jan Serr being a new venue, but throughout COVID the whole team did their best to make sure our day could be as close to what we imagined as possible. Also this venue is so unique! Our guests still talk to us about how much they loved it!

Yes Yes Yes!! Have your wedding here! Jan Serr is the most incredible wedding venue in Milwaukee! It was exactly what we were looking for in an industrial loft space. Right when we walked in we knew we had to book it! Katie from Saz's catering made it so easy every step of the way with menus , drinks, billing or any other question I had. I would highly recommend this venue! All of our guests were stunned and were complimenting the space all night!

Jan Serr is an amazing venue and the staff were phenomenal for our wedding! We did both our ceremony and reception at the location. The indoor/outdoor spaces, transitions and views are incredible. In addition, our attendees gave rave reviews on the food. Katie was easy to work with and made sure our day was perfect.

Jan Serr Studio, Saz's, and Katie were absolutely amazing to work with while planning our wedding this July. After having to postpone from our original date last year, Katie did everything to make the transition as seamless and easy as possible. She was always easy to reach, quick to reply and willing to go above and beyond for all of our last minute requests. I cannot state enough how beautiful and unique this venue is. The sweeping views of the lake from the balcony and the city views down prospect cannot be BEAT! Our guests raved about how awesome and open the space is. The added benefit of having a large balcony came in handy when guests worked up a sweat on the dance floor and needed to cool off outside was perfect. Do yourself a favor and contact Katie today to book your viewing of the space, you will not regret it!

Jan Serr Studio was the first place we visited when looking for a wedding venue. Though we went on to visit many more throughout the city, nothing else compared. The space had everything we were looking for in a venue - accommodations for ceremony/cocktail hour/reception with no room flips, architectural character and stunning city views that look great even with minimal decoration/flowers, and integrated indoor/outdoor space for flexibility, weather-proof planning, and fresh air. As an out of town couple, we appreciated the seamless planning process with Saz's for catering, the ease of using the included tables/chairs/linens/etc., the recommendations for other vendors that Ed and Emily generously shared, and the flexibility to visit the space whenever we were in Milwaukee. We had some DIY decorations and were able to set up much of it the day before the wedding and break much of it down the day after, saving day-of stress. We held our ceremony in the open gallery space on the third floor because we liked the clean, industrial aesthetic and the fact that it backed directly onto an outdoor patio for cocktail hour. Unfortunately, it was raining and we could not use the patio, but there was plenty of space in the rear of the gallery to gather and mingle. There is a covered outdoor terrace off of the large reception room on the sixth floor, which was great in any weather! Though our experience was overwhelmingly positive, a few constructive notes (not complaints, just things to be aware of) - Though Saz's manages the space and serves as the main point of contact throughout, there were a few times throughout the planning process where the fact that UWM owns the space led to miscommunications or unclear logistics (particularly related to parking requirements that we were trying to communicate to our guests in advance and the ability to adjust the thermostat in the ceremony space). It was all worked out in the end, but it felt like the extra layer of dealing with UWM sometimes created some complications/added time. We had several guests with various allergies and dietary restrictions. Although Saz's was happy to accommodate this, there were some mix-ups. So if you have guests in a similar situation, I'd suggest paying close attention to confirming these details. Overall, we could not have asked for a better venue or service for our wedding and consider ourselves so lucky to have found Jan Serr Studio. We recommend it without any hesitation.

Jan Serr and Saz's have made wedding planning so easy and fun! Our event manager Emily was easy to work with!! She was so accommodating with us changing our mind on what we wanted and was so flexible with us during the initial planning. Then with everything going on this year, we decided to postpone our wedding to 2021 and the process continued to be amazing. I was so nervous to move our date because of the stories from friends but that did not happen with Emily at Jan Serr. It was a couple email exchanges and it was done!! Emily understands that life is going on while planning a wedding and her flexibility and patience made this a great experience even with the unexpected changes! I couldn't be happier and am looking forward to the big day at the beautiful venue! **Adding onto review after our new date of 5/22/21 - EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING. Katie was the person we worked with for our day of and the last parts of or planning and she made everything perfect. All of our guests complimented the food (they loved it) and the space was INCREDIBLE. Everyone needs to go look at this venue to understand how breathtaking the views of Milwaukee are. I appreciate how easy this venue was to work with during such a weird time. I cannot express enough how great Katie is and how perfect our day was at this venue. I truly have no complaints. Even with minor changes (having to do buffett instead of family style) everything worked out perfectly. I didn't have a day of planner at all and Katie made everything super easy and fun and everything ran smoothly. Thank you Jan Serr/Saz's/ and Katie for the best wedding I could have ever asked for!!! Even though I had to reschedule - it was worth the wait.

Jan Serr (Saz’s) has been great to work with through these uncertain times. They were very flexible about changing our reception date due to COVID. We also were able to attend their tasting event before COVID and it was so well organized with great food and drink! We are very happy we chose Jan Serr!

Jan Serr Studio is the place to have your wedding at, and the hospitality group through Saz's is unbelievable (ask for Emily, she's awesome!)...my fiance and I had our wedding originally planned for Fall 2020 but we moved it to Fall 2021 due to the pandemic...usually a stressful situation for couples, Emily and Saz's and Jan Serr Studio made it as smooth of a process as possible--my fiance and I highly recommend having your wedding here...the venue is amazing and the hospitality group is even better and makes the process so easy!

Jan Serr was exactly what we were looking for! We loved the open space with ceiling to floor windows. We added some of our own decorations to the beautiful industrial style to make it into our dream wedding. All of our guest complimented on how different, but awesome Jan Serr was. As a bride that was exactly what I wanted to hear! Emily was also great to work with and Saz's was delicious. I wouldn't have changed a thing about our special day.

We are so happy with our Jan Serr wedding! The windows and views for the ceremony and reception were absolutely amazing and our guests could not stop saying how beautiful it was! The balcony is also a huge plus! Saz’s catering was very delicious and the guests mentioned how much they enjoyed it weeks after the wedding. Overall we are looking back on the whole experience and wouldn’t change a thing!

We could not recommend Jan Serr Studio enough. It was the absolute perfect space for our wedding day. When you get to the 6th floor and see the view overlooking both Lake Michigan and downtown, it's just incredible. Our guests couldn't stop talking about how amazing the space was and that truly was the best feeling knowing they loved it as much as we did! Working with Michelle through the finish line was a breeze, and she made sure everything was buttoned up with our vendors for the day of. We got endless rave reviews about the food and beverages. The space itself has so many options for layout and decorations. It definitely has the urban feel which is what we were looking for, but we dressed it up with floral and string lights to soften the space and it turned out truly amazing. The abundance of natural light and ability to see the sunset was a huge perk to our guests. The options are endless which made it such a great option for us! We would truly suggest using Jan Serr and working with Saz's to anyone :) It was everything we could have asked for and more!

We cannot say enough good things about Jan Serr Studio, Saz's Catering, Michelle, Ed and everyone who made our wedding day perfect. The space itself is lovely and needs little to no decorations with awesome views, natural lighting and is very spacious with an open concept. We had so many comments on how wonderful the balcony was, the bartenders/waiters overall service and friendliness and how delicious all the food was. Saz's is absolutely fantastic to work with, very prompt in answering questions and helping with the flow of the day. Michelle was always available to meet up or answer emails to help in the planning process and contacting all the vendors personally. We would definitely recommend Jan Serr Studio for anyone planning their wedding, we had the best night!
