Janae Shields Photography

We got lucky that she was still available (it wasn't really wedding season), because I didn't book her until about 2 weeks before the wedding. She did give me a little bit of a last minute booking discount, which I really appreciated. We got a basic package, which I felt was perfect. She had a second photographer with her, and they were both terrific. They were professional, but enjoyable. They got pictures of everyone and everything I asked for, but were never in the way. The pictures were ready before expected (again, this wasn't the busy season). And most importantly, The pictures themselves came out awesome! I am really happy with them and the whole experience. It was such a perfect day, and they captured it beautifully. Thanks again Janae!

She captured all the perfect moments and honestly did a GREAT job. I am so happy that I had Janae as my photographer and would highly recommend her to all my family and friends!

I loved the photos on the blog, but what impressed me even more was the way my co-worker loved working with her. And now I can say the same thing. I LOVED working with Janae. She's such a bubbly and sweet personality, she has a great artistic eye, she works with your personalities, and she's QUICK. I know this may not seem like a quality you would rank highly, but I had a tight timeline on my wedding day, not to mention I wanted to get to my cocktail hour quickly. I knew without a doubt that Janae would not only be able to do this, but be able to take a ton of great shots. I knew this because we did a 1 hour session (I repeat, 1 hour), and I think she took about 600 great photos, and she sent me an online album with about 200 of the best of them. Doing an engagement session with Janae is great, because she works to personalize the photo shoot. Plus, it was a great practice run for us, in terms of getting used to posing, or sometimes not posing or looking at the camera. But, more than anything, I left the engagement session loving Janae and her personality, and the photos were excellent. We received so many compliments on them. The people you least expected to comment, did. They were that good. And, on the wedding day, Janae and her assistant were amazing. It was like having another friend there, not another "vendor". We got all the photos done quickly, and I know there are some great shots in there, I cannot wait to see the photos. During the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception, I don't remember seeing Janae and her assistant. It's as if they blended into the crowd. Many of my friends have sent me the pictures they took, and I see Janae in those. To me it's amazing that she was taking so many photos, but never was obviously there, or in the way. I didn't feel like I was being documented, or followed, or had flash bulbs in my face. And, that's exciting, because I'm sure there are going to be a lot of great candids. I cannot say enough of Janae. I think she's extremely talented, and like I said earlier you will love her work, and love working with her, which I think is really important when picking out a photographer. You want some one that cares enough to personalize an engagement session, or who asks really important questions about your family, so as to not create any awkward moments during the family portraits, or that knows your personalities enough that she knows what details to capture. Book Janae! She's worth every penny.
