When you asked for airbrush I put you with a very skilled airbrush artist as I no longer offer it because as a MUA with many years of experience I find my artistry is superior over the airbrush machine. That is why you had a difference in price, which I had already explained that airbrush is a different price point. I began to feel you were hesitant to not use airbrush when you asked if you could do trials with both and if you didn’t like the airbrush could you switch to me. Unfortunately because of the volume of weddings we have coming in, it’s not logistically possible to hold a date for two different artists while waiting for trials. I did your sisters wedding and your family had no issues with me. I do 100's of wedding a year and my goal is never to do the things you are making out. Professionalism and customer service is at the forefront of my mind always. I do feel that you weren't able to decide if you wanted Kayla or myself ( Ashleigh) even through I was available and responded " I would be honored to work your wedding I just don't do airbrush anymore" You couldn't decide on airbrush or traditional so I even set up a trial for you to try both and it wasn't enough. I feel the expectations here are hard to manage especially when at points you would go weeks and not respond to me. I am sorry if you feel I was as horrible as you are claiming. That was a mistake on my end and I thought we had covered that back in December, 2019 when your trial occurred. I received the following feedback from you after your trial: “The trial went really well, I loved the look that she created. I would definitely like to move forward.” At that point I had it in my head and notes we were proceeding with traditional makeup. I’m sorry you felt you weren’t hearing back when you tried to communicate via Instagram Messenger after we had been communicating via email. IG is not a form of communication I can manage which is why Janay Beauty’s IG states “NO DM’s please” in the bio. I shared our Covid-19 Guidelines and Procedures with you on July 28, I’m not sure when you requested them, my apologies if there was a delay. The following message is provided on Janay Beauty’s website; PLEASE ALLOW 24/48 HRS FOR A RESPONSE TO A BRIDAL INQUIRY SENT DURING THE WEEKEND AS WE ARE BOOKED WITH WEDDINGS AND WEEKEND CLIENTS. As I’ve looked back through our email thread, I’m unable to find a time where I was unable to reply to you within 24-48 hours. You have stated in your review on The Knot, Wedding Wire, Facebook and Google that “getting ahold of anyone is a nightmare.” Covid-19 has put an incredible strain on most American’s and its affect on Janay Beauty can’t be minimized. Our communication touches and outreach has increased 10 fold due to so many changes, cancellations, postponements, reschedules, contract revisions, last minute illnesses or possible Covid exposure causing us to have to scramble to find coverage for a trial or actual wedding day. We truly have tried to do our VERY BEST to maintain our highest level of professionalism, service and of course communication with our Brides and clients. I apologize again for the confusion on airbrush vs traditional makeup. When I sent your invoice over in July without airbrush pricing, I had it in my head because of your December trial that we weren’t doing airbrush. A lot of time had passed and truthfully this confusion wouldn’t be happening during normal, non pandemic times. As you will recall on 8/31/20 I offered to honor your traditional makeup pricing for airbrush application because of my mistake. We had two phenomenal makeup artists reserved for your wedding when you made the decision to cancel two weeks prior. Your two artists were not because you wanted airbrush, your second artist was because of your finish time and the number of services you were requiring by that finish time. You were also mentioning you were unhappy with the finish time, the time that we set based on your contract information. There isn’t a problem to change the times on our end as long as we have time for each service. We are happy to accommodate your timeline. We have built our business on referrals and word of mouth and we truthfully aren’t used to having a client feel their experience was awful. As a small business in its infancy, we take this feedback seriously and have already made contractual changes to eliminate any day of confusion. I drove 5 hours to do this wedding and was told I would be doing 10 people via email and via contract which was why I agreed to drive that distance. On the day of the wedding, one of the bridesmaids offered to do lashes for whoever wanted it so they save money, 4 of the girls then decided to sit on the floor and do their own makeup. They decided to have the lashes applied for free by the bridesmaid who offered and that they would just do their own makeup despite that I was there. Janay Beauty has made contractual changes to eliminate any day of changes that may conflict with the original plan and we now take payment ahead of time so that this sort of confusion can be resolved before the wedding day. The bride said she cried because she felt bad that everyone backed out on the day of when I asked if she was okay. She knew I had just drove 5 hours and committed to this event due to the number of people she said needed services. I let her know it was completely okay, not her fault at ALL and that there was absolutely no need to cry. Especially on such a big day. I had a friend getting married without any makeup artist that day since I was booked for this one. I did mention I may be able to help her now since some of the girls are no longer wanting makeup services, however my first priority was always to you guys and to each individual that was yet to get in my chair. I felt I tried my best and gave them a great experience despite the confusion. I would never rush on a client, I was saying since a lot of your girls fell through I may be able to help the other bride out.
