Jane was absolutely amazing to work with. She was perfect because she offered an A La Carte option. I didn't need a full wedding planner, but I also needed more than someone who I checked in with a couple weeks before the wedding. With this option, we scheduled phone calls and/or physical meetups at the venue every 3 months until the wedding. I was able to get any questions answered and we reviewed tasks that needed to be done so we stayed on schedule I primarily did all the coordination with my other vendors, but if there were questions or things I needed, she would reach out on my behalf. She has great connections to all the other vendors I worked with.. She was always very responsive via email, text and phone call. If I had a question between our scheduled meeting dates, she would always answer via email w/o extra cost. The wedding timeline she created in coordination with all my other vendors was organized so perfectly. She worked so well with my site coordinator Megan at TVR. I cannot say more good things about her. The day of my wedding went perfectly! Could not have done this day without her guidance and support!
Jane Castle is a creative, hardworking and accomplished event planner. She has successfully planned and coordinated a number of special gatherings for our family. Her professionalism, courtesy and creativity are outstanding. We look forward to the next time that we can work with her. We wish her the very best.
Jane Castle was a literal god send for me during my wedding planning process. Jane's calm and collected energy was exactly what this anxious and perfectionist bride needed. She was able to guide me along the planning process with helpful suggestions, she met up with me at the decor rental place to create a beautiful table scape, she met with me several times at the venue to walk through the space and she was available to troubleshoot any issues with vendors. Her prices are incredibly fair and I loved her pay by the hour planning service.
The day of my wedding was literally perfect. Jane and her team executed by dream wedding with ease and grace. I am so incredibly impressed by what she accomplished for me. I would 100% use her again in a heartbeat and will be recommending her to everyone I know moving forward.
I am writing this review to hopefully save the next person from going through the terrible experience that we had with Jane.
We decided a little later in our planning process that we wanted to hire a day of coordinator, maybe 2 months before the wedding. First time we chatted it was great she said she had the availability and we set up a call to go over more details - we preferred an in face convo and she worked around her schedule to fit us in. It was great! We wanted to move forward with Jane She came across as very professional, very straight forward, and very knowledgeable in wedding coordinating/planning. So about a day later we let her know that we were very interested in her services. I had to reach out to her multiple times after to receive the invoice & to go on to the next step…which was sort of a red flag, but I also gave her the benefit of the doubt. It was a busy time of the year and a lot of weddings going on back to back. Maybe two weeks went by and we received an email stating that she made a goof and had other obligations the week of our wedding, and in her place she would be assigning her 2 assistants. We were not very happy with that news for the simple fact that we moved forward with Jane castle events because we really liked Jane. Also, this was something that I asked at our first initial meeting, and she assured me that nothing like that has ever happened and she didn’t plan on it ever happening…Fast forward - As annoying as it was, we considered moving forward with her assistants but we wanted to do a face to face meeting first. We just wanted to be sure that we were all on the same page. It took over a week for her to get back to us to set up a time for us to just meet. Mind you, we are now about a month or less away from the wedding. So we finally set the meeting up and then she sends us the wrong address to where we are meeting. So we had the meeting and got to meet her assistant, Leah. It actually went really well, we felt confident that Leah could execute what we had envisioned for our wedding day. One thing that I told Jane was the the week of the wedding I did not want to have to worry about any type of planning. So I had thought that everything was fine we are now 1 week away from the wedding! 30 hours BEFORE MY WEDDING DAY I received an email from Jane letting us know that we no longer have a coordinator. Leah had tested positive for covid which we 100% understand is uncontrollable but with all of the other things that went wrong it just seemed like such a huge slap in the face. She then went on to say that she did not think her other assistant, Hannah was ready to coordinate a wedding. What upsets me the most of this situation is that she then sent me a TEXT that told me to check my email. LIKE ARE YOU KIDDING ME. We are 30 hours before my wedding and you don’t have the decency to give me a call to tell me I no longer have a coordinator, or try and help us navigate through this mess. I was absolutely devastated. We had invested time/money/energy in Jane and got NOTHING in return. Luckily we had some family and friends who stepped up and tried to help as much as they could, but mind you none of them had ever coordinated a wedding so there were soooo many little details missed on our special day and I whole heartedly blame Jane. All things considered our day was OK. We got married, and we were surrounded by our loved ones! The cherry on top was that the “final copy” that she sent was incorrect. 👎
I cannot provide details as to how she is as a full timeline planner but we used her for the month out/day of coordinator and I am so glad we did. My husband and I had most of the major decisions and details figured out but were struggling with how to piece it all together and Jane was exactly what we needed. She was taking care of all of the details and mediating between all of the different vendors so that my husband and I could be fully present and enjoy the day. So glad we found her!
If you are looking for someone to help make your wedding seamless, beautiful, stress free, and fun - look no further! I was on the fence about working with a coordinator/planner and am so glad that we did. Jane's packages are flexible to give you exactly what you need. She was such an integral player leading up to our wedding in helping craft an informed timeline, give her expertise, and help with ideas. I can't imagine the day without her and am so glad she was there to help run the show. Jane is unique because she helps to support you in whatever ways you need - and helps you understand what those areas are if you were like us and very new to the event planning world! We love Jane! We booked with her a year in advance of our wedding day and she was amazing during all stages of the planning process. She had scheduled check-ins and forms to keep us organized. We are planners and a "type A" personalities; Jane gave us the space to be ourselves and really came along side us during the whole process to create the most perfect wedding day. Jane really went above and beyond leading up to our big day as we had a last minute rainy forecast and had to shift our outdoor wedding inside with a week's notice. She was very clear about what the adjusted budget was and what she was able to create for us was nothing short of magic. Jane was connected to our suppliers and our venue, so I always felt confident that we were connected, informed about decisions, and prepared for really anything!
I am so sad to write this review because I think Jane is a very nice person but I think other brides need to know. I initially loved Jane's laidback style and flexibility but it became so difficult to get ahold of her and get any information from her that I eventually had to part ways from her. I hired a wedding planner because I work full-time and go to grad school full-time. I was hoping a wedding planner would keep me on task and help relieve the stress of planning a large wedding. I found that the majority of the time I was keeping Jane on task! I would sometimes wait for weeks for replies to emails and never received certain things I asked for like a wedding timeline. My experience very much echoes the other 1 star review on this site. At one point she apologized and said she was having problems with her email server but the problem never got better. At one point I was waiting to hear from Jane in regards to if she was going to do a venue walk-through with me. She told me she had jury duty (fair enough - I am a reasonable human and that happens) but that she would let me know that morning if she got dismissed. I NEVER heard from her! When I didn't hear from her that day I obviously assumed she was stuck in jury duty which happens but she never even contacted me days later to ask how the meeting went or anything. For me that was the last straw. The few things she did help me with such as printing address labels and finding a cute site for making personalized napkins were things that my maid of honor could do in an afternoon. I will say she has excellent recommendations for vendors in town but again, I don't think that is worth the money. I had paid an initial deposit for Jane and after my terrible experience I thought she may offer to refund me at least a little bit but that was never offered. It is so unlike me to write reviews like this but I just feel like brides should be warned because the online reviews are misleading
I cannot say enough good things about Jane, her staff and her services. I was on the fence on if we needed a Day of Coordinator as we were having a small, intimate wedding. In the end I am so happy we choose to have her and her team!
Jane made everything not only look absolutely amazing but made it easy for me to hand over the details to come together for the wedding of our dreams. Jane was so kind, helpful, efficient and made all of the work during the wedding look effortless. Our guests had such a wonderful time and enjoyed every little detail thanks to Jane and her team.
Leading up to the wedding Jane was patient, helpful and allowed me the flexibility to make our day everything we wanted it to be. She was always quick to respond and answered any questions I had and even the ones I didn't. Loved our experience!
Jane was hands-down the best investment we made for our wedding day. We chose the day-of package with hourly consulting add-ons for a mid-way planning checkpoint, our tasting, and any vendor help we needed along the way. She had key insights and great advice for what to look for in vendors, all the issues we needed to consider in planning our day, and best-practices to make the day go smoothly. Having very little wedding experience ourselves, it was very comforting to be able to rely on her support if we needed it. Every single vendor we spoke to either recommended her, or raved about her, it's nice to know your vendors will work really well with her to make your day incredible.
As far as the day-of, her team was phenomenal. Jane is there quietly executing in the background so that you don't have to worry about a thing. We were so grateful that our family and wedding party was free to really enjoy and focus on the day with us, instead of having to worry about organizing or trouble-shooting. We 100% recommend Jane if you're looking for a relaxed but efficient planner with very customizable options. Thank you, Jane!!!
Jane and MacKenzie are really very flexible -- they are as hands-on or hands-off as you need them to be for every stage of the planning or day-of process. For us, we wanted a point person for the day before and the day-of, since we had a different venue for the ceremony and reception.
Even though we had envisioned simply day-of planning, they additionally helped us draft a timeline, helped us find a DJ, and ran some last-minute errands the day before the wedding. They also helped us wrangle some difficult vendors who were less communicative.
And as expected, they delivered amazing day-of management. The ceremony went completely smoothly (and no one got lost thanks to the signage), they helped us tip the vendors.
Hiring Jane to plan our wedding was honestly the best decision we could have made. To begin, we are from out of town, and we received the recommendation from our wedding venue on several planners. I chose Jane because of the customized nature of her services-you could choose a full package but also day of and then hourly planning services. It was very customized. I feel that a person's taste level is very key in this type of event, and Jane has amazing taste. She helped us select our vendors and this was such a huge help. ALL of our vendors were amazing. There were literally no issues. They were each so professional and she helped organize and coordinate with each one. She is a really great problem solver and I feel that the key part of her service is taking stress or problems away from the bride and groom and their families.
In addition, she helped me coordinate the look of the tables and place settings and they were amazing. I was slightly nervous about letting someone else take care of day of set up because I do events as part of my job, but I had nothing to worry about. Each table and the entire ballroom looked amazing.
I have been to many weddings where as a bridesmaid or guest I have had to help set up, tear down etc. It's not a great look when everyone is drunk and tired. We had none of that at our wedding because Jane took care of everything. At the end of the night, everything got moved to our room and everything was accounted for. We literally didn't have to think of anything at the end of the night. Further, she along with our wedding venue coordinator and my bridesmaids set up everything in our room so nicely. Everyone involved with the wedding was so impressed and loved her.
It was the best money we spent at our wedding. I know that she had some personal challenges during the months leading up to our wedding, but it did not impact our event at all. There are not enough superlatives to describe Jane. She's the best!
I would not recommend using Jane for your event. Our experience with her had many problems from day one. After the initial meeting it took two weeks to get any of the information we discussed. Eventually we did get a very small amount of the information we discussed. While planning our wedding there was about two months where we got almost no communication from her and the communication we did get was very poor and not useful. It got so bad that at one point Jane was emailed by the bride saying how overwhelmed and stressed out she was (Jane never did respond to this email). After basically firing her she told us she had issues and had corrected them. Things did get a little better until the day of the wedding. Just about anything that went wrong (including having no explanation for the ceremony starting almost 30 minutes late) she either passed blame to someone else or just dropped the ball (her own words) both are unacceptable answers. Now for the end of the night. We had already verified with Jane multiple times that we needed her to clean up and take decor with her after everything was done. That did not happen as she again dropped the ball. It was so bad that our guesses from across the country stopped celebrating early and began to clean up and pack their rental cars stuff because Jane was not prepared. And if that’s not bad enough the bride and groom (along with the wedding party) ended up being the last people to leave the place because they were having to clean up and lock the doors. And this was our experience with Jane who a friend referred us to.
The experience with Jane was by far disappointing and fell far short of our expectations. The most disappointing part was Jane was not able to take control and keep the different parts of a wedding day going smoothly as you would expect from a wedding planner with her amount of experience.
Jane did have a lot of ideas and connections with people who could provide different services.
This is not everything that did not go well with her but are a few of the more major issues we had that we feel would not be isolated to just our wedding.
Jane Castle is the best wedding planner in Arizona. She is incredible at her job and has the best connections with all other wedding vendors. We used her suggestion for flowers and had the most beautiful bouquet. Jane made herself available whenever I needed her and eased all of my worries and stress. Our wedding was battling the weather and Jane really advocated for what we wanted if the weather did not cooperate. We did have to move part of our wedding inside but Jane turned a drab ballroom into this stunning, incredible reception. I still don't know how she did it but she is a miracle worker. She is worth a million dollars. She worked so hard on our behalf to make sure we did not feel or see any bumps in the road. Hiring Jane Castle as our wedding planner was the single greatest decision I have ever made. She is every superlative you could ever think of when describing a person. I cannot express my gratitude for her and her work enough. She truly is the best wedding planner to ever do it.
Jane has an impeccable eye for design, great relationships with Tucson vendors, a calming and unflappable presence (so important during the stress of wedding planning!), and most importantly, she is a wonderful, thoughtful person, which made working with her so pleasant--like grabbing coffee and chatting with an old friend. We would highly recommend hiring Jane to design, coordinate, and execute your special day!
Adam and I hired Jane a full year out from our wedding for full planning (though we loved that she was flexible and willing to give us just the level of help we needed!). We live in New York so knew we wanted someone on the ground in Tucson who could give us the best vendor recommendations and make sure everything went perfectly and reflected us as a couple. She was eager to discuss any and every idea we had about how to personalize our wedding--from Adam’s iced matcha and Momofuku Milk Bar truffles to my vision for our elegant, Southwest tables with teal glassware--and made them realities. Many of our 150 guests said it was the most beautiful and fun wedding they ever attended!
Jane nailed every detail, and the whole day absolutely exceeded our (already very high) expectations--thank you, Jane, making sure it was the weekend of our dreams!
Jane did a truly beautiful job of making our daughter and son-in-law’s dream wedding a perfectly orchestrated, magical event! Given the complexity of their vision and the multiplicity of vendors and event sites involved, as well as the fact that both the bride (a Tucson native) and groom lived 2400 miles away, Jane’s success at making everything work – and of making everything work brilliantly– was no small feat. In fact, many friends and relatives commented that this was the most enjoyable, elegant, and beautifully choreographed wedding they had ever attended … down to the tiniest details. Much of this is due to Jane’s thoughtful and discerning suggestions about vendors, design questions, and the practicalities of things like fair pricing and “day of” timelines; to her extraordinarily good taste and artist’s eye for detail; to her willingness to listen carefully to our daughter and son-in-law and then help implement their vision rather than trying to impose her own preferences upon them; to her knack at building good relationships and working cordially and cooperatively with wedding planners at the church and reception site; and to her extraordinary patience, work ethic, and sense of decorum – both in our many interactions with her prior to the wedding, and in her remarkable ability to “be everywhere” and “do everything,” without being obtrusive or obviously stressed, on the day of our “grand event.” She truly is a “party ninja … in a little black dress” (or at least an elegant lady in a beautifully tailored outfit) who has “perfected the art of being everywhere and nowhere at once,” who takes care of “things you didn’t even know needed doing,” and who gets things done miraculously! I will also add that her fees are very, very fair and modestly priced. I recommend Jane Castle Events most highly – thank you, Jane!!!
Jane is amazing! She was my day-of-coordinator, and I don't know how I could have made it through the last few weeks of planning and the day without her! She does a great job of brainstorming last minute details and creating a timeline, and she kept me organized and calm throughout the day, which I appreciate so much. I highly recommend her!
