Janet is amazing! I was super nervous to get my dress altered - trusting something with such an important thing is hard but Janet definitely knows what she’s doing! There was a weird wrinkle happening in my dress from how it was made and she worked and worked to get it out! She also made a custom blusher piece for me that turned out amazing! My dress was perfect the day of and I was comfortable all night long. You can definitely trust her professional advice and her pricing is very reasonable as well.

My bridal Salon Luv Bridal recommended me to Janet and I can totally see why she is on their preferred vendor list. I met with Janet a total of three different times in regards to my dress alterations. She never once pushed me to do something and let me take my time on decisions. I LOVED working with Janet! She was sweet, professional and accommodating through my wedding gown alterations and alterations for a bridesmaid dress I brought to her. I felt so comfortable in both dresses after she was finished, and I could tell Janet wouldn't be satisfied until I was.

Janet is a dream to work with. I brought her my dress a year before my wedding (my wedding still hasn't happened yet). I wanted grey put under the layers of chiffon in the skirt. She recommended I also put it up on the top as well. She gave me the opportunity to look for the fabric I wanted myself. She told me how much to get and why type of fabric to get. So, I headed up to SAS Fabric Superstore and bought grey chiffon for the dress and grey satin to redo the belt I had bought. She works quickly. From the time you tell her what you want and when you want to come back, she can get it done in 2 weeks. We are going slow with mine, since it's February 2015 and I'm not getting married until September 2015. But the grey is already in, sparkles were put on the appliques, and the pickups were done the way I wanted them. When the grey was first put in, Janet could not stop saying, "The dress makes so much sense now!" We felt like there was something missing. It was color! She also redid my ivory belt in the grey satin and made me a grey satin shawl. I love that she lets me come and see my dress whenever I want. I had brought my Maid of Honor (from out of state) and my mother's veil, so we could chat about altering the veil. A few days later, I returned just to put my dress on for my younger sister who also came from out of state to visit. I highly recommend Janet. I'm still working with her to alter my veil, make me a garter, put in a bustle, and complete the fit. It's nice to know that my dress is in good hands and out of sight since it's been in her studio and not in my home!

Janet came recommended by Strut Bridals and many of my friends who've had their dressed altered by her. The service was wonderful, I never felt rushed when trying to make hard decisions. Janet invited my mom and maid of honor numerous times and made everyone feel welcome.

Janet is a sweetheart. I really enjoyed having he do my alterations. She took the time to really make sure I felt good in the dress and she was FAST. She does amazing work in a very timely manner. The only thing is that I felt there were some times where I needed advice from her on things like hem length or bustle that she didn't really help with. In the end, my hem was a bit too long and the bustle broke in two places and I was left wishing she had actually answered my questions instead of just saying it was a personal choice on my part. I get that it depends bride to bride but if someone asks you for your professional opinion, you should give it. All in all, I was pleased with her services and I would definitely go back again because she was such a pleasure to be around.

Janet did the alterations for my wedding dress and was fabulous! There was a lot of work to do and she did it with no issues. The value was great for the service I received and have already recommended her to several friends for wedding gowns and dresses in general.

Janet was a breeze to work with, especially with my difficult dress. I had one dress that could be transformed into 2 different dresses (one for the ceremony and one for the reception). Janet knew exactly how to alter the dress and gave me a generous discount because she was essentially altering 2 different dresses. She would give me multiple ideas for each type of alteration and would let me pick which one went best with my style. She was upfront and honest. She even stored my wedding dress (free of charge) up until the wedding day and had it nicely pressed upon my arrival. Janet did not try to push me towards anything I did not feel comfortable with and the end results were superb!

The wonderful amazing Janet! What a life saver you are and my oh my! You are so talented! I am a little Jcrew obsessed so I of course purchased my wedding dress at the bridal salon in NYC! When I asked where in AZ they recommended I have my dress altered, they told me to come back to Manhattan to one of their folks...uuhhh no...so my quest for an alterations person began! Thanks to the amazing reviews for Janet on Yelp, she was my first stop! Her location is just a smidge north on 68th Pl of Thomas...turn right at the Streets of NY pizza place and then she is located in the House of Brides on the west side of the street. She has the perfect little spot downstairs with a changing room and a 3 way mirror when you are ready. Since I had not seen my dress on except the one time, I was nervous to check it out, especially with all of my undergarments and with shoes. Janet was very helpful and immediately put me at ease. We talked about what I wanted to see and I learned all about french bustles and american bustles and all sorts of things I never knew about. Needless to say, she gave me excellent direction! I had one additional fitting after the holidays to make sure everything was in the right place and then it was showtime! She held my dress for me and allowed me to pick it up on the day of my wedding! I could not have been happier with the results! The bustle was perfection, my little wrist ribbon saved the dress from getting dirty at the Desert Botanical Garden and this baby fit like a glove! She is a true professional and I was thoroughly pleased with my dream dress!

Janet did such a great job on my wedding dress! My dress was about 6 sizes too big for me. She made it absolutely perfect! Took it in, made the back lower and made a beautiful bustle. I am so happy I chose her. She is such a sweet person and so easy to work with. I will continue to take clothes to her. :)

I am sooooo happy I found Janet. She is seriously amazing. My dress needed to be completely changed in the bust line and have a lot taken off around the bottom and she made it wonderful. She doesn't stop until you are completely satisfied. She also added a bustle and it looked so great. So happy. I ordered my dress custom made from Australia (based off of a drawing I made) It turned out great but for sure needed some alterations....She completely changed the neckline for me to make it more comfortable and flattering and it turned out PERFECT. so so happy

Janet was born to be a seamstress...she's so amazing! I came in with lots of requests and she took care of them with confidence. She added layers of tulle onto my dress and it transformed it into my dream dress! She gave me great advice as well on what would look good and what wouldn't and I trusted her. I'm so thankful to have her as part of my wedding experience.

Janet was a true find. Her expertise and warm heart was so comforting. You are always so afraid to leave your dress in someone else's hands, but Janet is amazing...... I will shout from the rooftops to anyone to go see her.

I started with Janet to redesign a bridal gown. I understand she might have been a little busier than normal, but she postponed my follow up appt by two weeks for one of my final fittings. When I went to the fitting, the dress was not near complete. I understand she wanted to have everything the way I wanted it, I just felt that she failed to communicate her questions and would take a long time to respond to my emails. I ended up scrapping the dress and buying one from David's Bridal as my wedding was just 4 wks away and was getting nervous the dress wouldn't be finished. I will say that she did my friends alterations in a timely and quality manner.

I searched for a long time to try and find the "perfect" dress, but to no avail. I finally ordered a less-than-perfect dress online in the hopes that someone could alter it to my liking. Then I found Janet. She nipped and tucked in all the right places, and she made me fall in love with my dress. She listed to what I wanted, and made it happen. I was so pleased with her work that I brought in my bridesmaid dresses to her assistant and had her alter those too (they had all shown up from the designer with strangely fitting hips). She made each one fit perfectly, and with a really fast turn around, and a tiny price tag. I was so pleased!

I had read many review about Janet's work so I decided to take my dress to her since my bridal shop did not do alterations (she also was on their list of recommended alterations) Janet did an amazing job with my dress. I got so many compliments on it. I loved my dress but being 5'1, it was a whole lot of dress. Well she did her magic and you never would of imagine how it was before. One of the best things she suggested to me was taking the zipper out of my dress, so it would only be a corsett (it had both). When she did this, it complimented my wasit line so much! I loved it!! She is a professional, knows her stuff, and provides you with great ideas. She is reasonably priced and you could tell she loves what she does. I was so happy with the work she did with my dress, I didn't want to take it off when I went to go try it on at one of my final fittings. All brides should feel this way in their dresses!

A little pricey maybe, but she had to take in a lot of my dress (2-3 sizes). It looks perfect when she was finished.

I bought my wedding dress at a sale, loved it and the price so much I bought it without considering how much it would need to be altered to actually fit me! It was too long, 3 sizes too big, and needed a bustle. Janet made it AMAZING! After one appointment with her, it fit like a glove and the bustle was more beautiful than I could have imagined. She is an expert! I will definitely be visiting her again and recommending her to everyone I know. A few of my bridesmaids had their dresses hemmed by her, and they were perfect. Happiness for all!
