ho has some of the most amazing preferred vendors. From our first phone call, Janine was able to clearly express her style and understanding of what my goals were for my wedding day. Janine and I kept in contact for about a year and a half before my wedding! No matter what stage of the wedding planning process we were in, Janine was always SO willing to confirm if our vision made sense (timeline, style and place of photos) and was so reassuring that everything would be amazing. Now for our wedding day. Although I did not get the opportunity to meet Janine until the day of my wedding, I was so immediately comfortable with her and her staff that it set all my wedding jitters at ease. Janine is the epitome of a professional. My husband and I were instantly impressed at how Janine and her second shooter worked together, the quality of their equipment and their ability to move us and our bridal party around to capture the perfect shot. They were VERY familiar with David’s Country Inn as well so they know exactly where they wanted us and where the perfect angles were to capture amazing photos. This flowed through the day from our getting ready process, to the first look, to the ceremony at Rutherfurd Hall (which had a drone!) to the reception. Janine captured the most intimate photos during our ceremony which Rich and I will cherish forever. Our photos walking the grounds of Rutherfurd hall are just phenomenal as well, they were thrilled with the lighting and used the environment to enhance our shots. Janine knew exactly the amount of time we would need to capture the shots we desired and knew when we were all set and could take a break. We had so much fun in the process as well, it was absolutely the best experience. As for the reception, I am just in awe of all the amazing candid shots Janine took. We were worried when we didn’t get a chance to get some photos with family members, but Janine easily accomplished this goal throughout the reception without a hitch. Rich and I have been so thrilled viewing our reception shots because as Janine described herself more as a ninja during this time period and it is the absolute true. We never felt like we had cameras in our face or intruding on any moments, in fact they caught the most perfect moments that captured the party vibe of the night. Rich and I even escaped a few times to go outside David’s to take some highly desired shots and this was done in very little time so we could return to the reception. AND guess what! It’s been less than a month and Janine has ALREADY provided us with an online album of our photos which are breathtaking! I am just so impressed with Janine and her staff. She is a master of her craft and truly one of the best in her field. I am so beyond grateful to have had the opportunity to work with her. Rich and I will cherish these photos forever.

A few months before the wedding a family tragedy hit, and we filled Janine in on what was going on within the family. This relative stranger immediately sprung into action, helping to arrange a private family shoot, and checking in weekly with us to see how everything was. Suddenly she wasn't just our photographer, but a willing friend who was there without hesitation to support us. The day of the wedding she continued that support, helping us through a very emotional day, and making sure we had all the photos we needed. She was unobtrusive, efficient, and understanding of the breaks we needed. She helped keep us on schedule in a way that seemed effortless. I honestly do not know how I would have gotten through everything without her there. Her presence was so calming, and the end result of the photos were beautiful. I'm not a photogenic person, and I'm terrible at knowing what angles look good, but she floored me with her work. For the first time in my life, I looked at a photo of myself and thought I was beautiful. I only wish we could have taken so many more, because they all turned out so amazing. I could not recommend her more, she was amazing and professional and there was never any doubt in my mind she wouldn't blow me away! If there was only one aspect of my wedding I could keep, it would be her.

Not only is Janine amazing, but also Gerardo! They work as a wonderful team--almost like best friends that finish one another's sentences. The way Janine plays upon lighting and getting people in "the moment" without even knowing where she is, is a true talent! If you allow Janine the privilege of shooting your wedding, a videographer is not even close to being necessary. I'm positive you will have all the authenticity on their own. However, after meeting with Janine, we knew she was the best and could not be topped, so we booked her immediately. The breathtaking work on her website was enough of a reason to hire her without any reservations, and her incredible personality was the icing on the cake. Janine was incredibly responsive to our emails and phone calls throughout the entire planning process. She really put us at ease and made us feel so confident with our decision to use Janine Collette Photography. Other reviewers have mentioned that Janine reminds them of an old friend, and that observation is on point. Janine made us feel so comfortable on our wedding day and went above and beyond. She even assisted with all of my wardrobe malfunctions (e.g. zipping my dress when no one else could get it to work and helping with my stubborn jewelery). Janine calmly and efficiently captured all of our formal photos, which was not an easy task considering our 22 person bridal party. During the ceremony and reception, she captured incredible shots without being intrusive. We didn't even notice her! So many guests commented on how amazing she was and how awesome her pictures were. She is truly a talented artist in every sense of the word. Janine knew what shots to take and where to position us based on the lighting, and she knew how to interact with us our bridal party, and family.

What you can also see is that there is little need for editing - her use of lighting is unique and exceptional. There are so many photographers to choose from when doing your wedding and it's so very hard to pick when you see their "best photos" laid out in front of you. My recommendation? Ask for access to another client's portfolio to see what a real wedding looked like, not their greatest hits. With Janine, any of her recent work highlights her ability to make every single bride of every race and body type look absolutely stunning. Worried about back fat or that weird thing on your arm? Tell her. Love your eyes or the left side of your face because your nose looks amazing? She'll be sure to get your good side. Above all, Janine wants to give you quality that you and your partner will love. Weddings go by fast - every bride says that and yeah, it's true. Janine made it so easy to enjoy the prep time with my family and bridesmaids without being intrusive or taking time away from those moments. She always requested permission to take any trinkets to use for photographs, was hysterical when we needed everyone to smile, and made me feel absolutely beautiful when doing my private "bride-looking-out-the-window" shots. I felt like I was able to take in my entire day and be in the moment. Yes, it went fast, but I was able to really soak it in without feeling like I was being called away for photos or asking to fake smile with Aunt Bernice. There were no corny jokes, annoying flashes or corralling family members. Janine was so organized and coordinated before hand that it made things so smooth and relaxing. Basically, she made it so I could eat food from cocktail hour AND my dinner reception - how many brides can say that?! It takes a special person to be able to be as kind, patient and goofy while providing amazing quality. This is Janine. Her pricing is outstanding, her smile genuine and her laugh infectious.
