TLDR: If you're are looking for an interactive and creative wedding photographer who will work tirelessly on your schedule, hire Janis. She was wonderful, and we couldn't recommender her enough. Okay, where to begin? My wife and I did a small wedding during this past summer while the pandemic was still on a lot of people's minds. It was strictly a family affair, and we weren't looking to get super flashy with anything because we lacked the volume of guests to make such an event make sense in terms of price. However, weddings are rarely done strictly on the couple's own whims. It is a collaborative process with each side of the family getting their say. Long story short, we were ordered to get a photographer for our big day, so I started looking. After about twenty (20!) unreturned emails and calls, I got a rather quick response from Janis. She was kind and very upfront about her prices for our big day, and she was willing to work within our schedule during our day. (Seriously, we must have changed the arrival time about 3 different time on the days leading up to the event. She was cool with everything.) The best part about having Janis help us was that she did a lot of scouting around Austin, and she was ready to work on short notice. She always had a cute picture idea and took some fun chances with what little we had to offer for the day. As I said, it was a small wedding, and we weren't looking to get to fancy with anything. Regardless, Janis captured our special moments in a way that really help solidify that day in our memories. After all was said and done, my wife and I decided to buy three books from Janis, one for us and two for our respective parents. She sat with us, as we reviewed every single picture and took diligent notes on any edits or questions we had regarding our picks. It was a lovely experience. Also, if you do hire Janis, do yourself a favor and purchase a picture for hanging in your house. We got her canvas option, and it is very nice. I usually see it hanging as I'm leaving for work each day, and it is such a delightful memory.

Janis was absolutely amazing! She was honest, upfront, budget-minded, and so incredibly helpful. Somethings I had no idea about and she helped clarify. She took the extra steps to make sure all possible (and requested) photos were taken while keeping a fun and delightful demeanor! She kept the energy going and helped make laughing easy. Janis was our photographer for our wedding in November 2021. She was professional, on time and personable. She had a clear vision for the photographs and worked hard to make us look our best. She was was easy to work with and I would recommend her for any of your photography needs.

Janis was super sweet and took amazing photographs at our wedding, despite the odd lighting of shade and bright sunlight, as well as nighttime pictures outdoors. She arrived on time and communicated thoroughly with me ahead of time about the photo timeline for the day of. She also got my tired, cranky nephew who wouldn't smile to crack a smile long enough for some precious photos.

Janis and her assistant Heather were so sweet. I loved getting to work with them and both were so attentive to us and made sure that they took their time to make everything perfect for us. They were so easy to work with and gave us really helpful instructions on how to pose and how to stand so we would have the best pictures. I’m SO excited to see the finished product!

I cannot say enough good things about Janis!! We got our wedding photos back today and they are absolutely stunning <3 <3 . They were everything I was imagining and much more. Don't look any further for a photographer because I promise you will be extremely happy!

Janis is awesome and very easy to work with. She came prepared and ready too start shooting. I love her wedding photography style and the way she tells a love story with every photo.. She knows exactly the photos she wants to take and will tell you where to stand without any hesitation. Janis worked fantastic together with My wedding planner and Dj. Janis is amazing. She photographed my wedding day and did an amazing job. She is detail oriented and took pictures of even the small stuff like flowers and decor. It makes a difference when your photographer is knowledgeable because she knew exactly how to pose the family members (and ex family members) so everyone felt comfortable and included. I cannot recommend her enough. My pictures turned out beautiful and I am so thankful I will have them to treasure forever.
