At no point did I feel rushed or pressured to make a decision. Instead, she encouraged me to take my time, ask questions, and try on different styles until I found the one that felt right. I even tried on the same two dresses three different times. She made me feel safe to be indecisive, which meant so much because choosing a wedding dress is a huge decision. Her knowledge, professionalism, and warm personality made the entire appointment enjoyable. She listened carefully to what I liked, offered thoughtful suggestions, and helped me narrow down my options without ever making me feel overwhelmed. She celebrated every moment with me and made me feel confident, beautiful, and supported throughout the process. Because of Jocelyn, I found my perfect wedding dress on my first visit and I’ll always remember how special she made that day. If you’re looking for someone who truly cares about helping you find the dress that’s right for you, I can’t recommend Jocelyn at Jan’s Boutique enough. alterations were slightly rushed because the dress arrived later than originally advised. On my wedding day I had my dress on for an hour and only doing photos when sewing string started to unravel at the bottom of my dress. Gaps started to form between where the lace was sewn onto the bottom from the hem. We decided to not cut it incase it caused more of the lace to pull away. I reached out to the store about it after the wedding and they advised it was my fault and they were not responsible. Poor customer service, refused to speak to me, and all I wanted was to get it fixed to be preserved. I paid over $900 for these alterations just for the sewing string to unraveling at the entire bottom of the dress before I even walked down the isle. Between buying my dress, alterations, and purchasing MOB dress we spent a lot of money at this store and will never send anyone else here again.

Unfortunately, my experience was the exact opposite. I am MOB and came in with my daughter and her fiancé who is also female. I am going to mention this here although it is not something I ever think about, but seemed to be an obvious issue with some of your staff. They are both beautiful, and happen to be plus-sized. We were eyed up and down when we first arrived and then again by the sales associate, Lesley (sp?). We probably should have left right then and there. She was definitely taken aback when I introduced my daughter and her fiancé...caught herself quickly, but was clear. It is 2026, and this being Pride Month, she should have faked it better. To say she was probably the worst dress consultant I have ever had is an understatement. She questioned me on my normal clothing size three times (I wear a size 6 in street clothes and she twice said something about me being a 12...and no, not in dress sizes which I fully understand run small). This clearly indicates she doesn't know what should be her craft which I would expect from a sales consultant at a shop like Jan's. Then she didn't listen to anything my daughter had to say or me for that matter. It almost made me apologize for being selective and no one should have to do that ever, particularly when shopping for such a wonderful occasion. I did try on some dresses, despite her not showing me what I really wanted. She consistently talked about the dress sizes, unnecessarily as that is a ridiculous concern. And as we were leaving, she rambled on, unprovoked, about these lavish weddings that people have and she wonders if they'll still be married in ten years and then wished my daughter and her fiancé good luck. Very odd and made the whole experience that much worse. Such a sad, complete disappointment…

n early October.  My mother arrived first and was greeted by a lovely member of the team, Leslie Barley.  Leslie encouraged and helped my mother and I, making us laugh and smile throughout our appointments.  She and my daughter selected a number of gowns and without any pressure, but with a sharp wit, sense of humor, and kind words, Leslie was successful in having us say "yes" to two beautiful gowns.  We look forward to seeing Leslie again to thank her when we return  for our alteration appointments.

She made the entire experience feel personal and stress-free, helping me and my friend find exactly what we needed. The gowns both came out beautifully done. Anything I asked as well as any of her suggestions were done to perfection. I wouldn't go anywhere else for a gown.

inda, to my fittings with Brenda, it was an exceptional experience. The consultants and seamstresses at Jan’s are the best! Linda helped me find the perfect dress and Brenda did exceptional work to ensure it fits perfectly! I can’t wait to wear my dress when we celebrate my daughter’s wedding this June.

ance etc and the horrible weather lately in the northeast !!!     Once I left a bad review about the service and help and i literally left in tears after getting the dress and trying it on and not liking the color but they had a light taupe color dress used in stock tried on by probably hundreds of people and I asked if I could please swap the brand new dress for the used one since I did not like the color and I was just flat out advised the owner said NO! No discussion or let me see what we can do and now they are telling me if I would have come in right away they may have help! I can’t even believe that was a response to me!!  I was ther in person with the new dress and in tears and was told NO and no explanation given just NO and now told well if I would have come a few weeks ago it may have been different !!!   Haha, I messaged right away when I was told it arrived and advised due to distance and time off I had planned when I was originally advised it would be in and planers then and right after it arrived we had really bad weather and I would not be driving an hour and half in the snow/ice etc!!    Still it was a brand new dress and was going to take a sample try on dress and they said NO!   Very rigid and no compassion or empathy and the lady helping me said she was so sorry I wasn’t happy but the owner won’t help !!     I literally was in tears and the man that put my dress in a bag said nothing sign here and that was it!  Not friendly not apologetic nothing ! Absolutely horrible for an event and my daughters wedding day!!   What a joke! 

amazing seamstress, Hiba. They specifically helped me with a special order, sizing and special alteration schedule so that I could get to my wedding destination on time.  Do not hesitate to visit Jan’s for your special event. It is guaranteed to make you feel like a princess!!!

most fun appointment I had ever been to. My mom was beaming with joy trying on a massive selection of gowns and honestly it was all thanks to Leslie. request the woman!! she was wonderful. she heard us, asked for what we wanted showed us everything and made the experience all the more fun. It's a moment with my mom that I truly won't forget. I will be recommending this to all future MOBs.
