Jared Rey Photography

We hired Jared for our destination wedding in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico at Las Caletas in May 2011. I came into contact with him on Best Destination Wedding Forum when I saw some photos of his work he had posted. I loved the way he used natural light to make his pictures, and the people in them, look so beautiful, and the poses were creative. He is also very good at capturing small, interesting details, and colors, which I love. He was quick to reply to all my questions and concerns and even suggested we talk on the phone once to get to know eachother since I lived in a different city and never met him in person. Being a destination wedding, or any wedding for that matter, a bride can get very nervous closer to the wedding day about people not responding quickly enough or not showing up. Jared was very good at keeping in contact and sending me forms to fill out about the type of photos we wanted, people's names, locations, etc. Once we finally met in Mexico, you could instantly tell that he is a genuinely nice person. He is very professional but also laid back. Our wedding was unique in that it was only accessible by boat. My husband, his groomsmen, and Jared came over to the wedding site on a very small boat ahead of time, and he even took pictures while trying to hold on while the boat was moving! This was important to me because I got to see my husband and his "preparation" for our big moment, since I was already there getting ready. Throughout the rest of our wedding day's festitivites, Jared was everywhere, getting every shot, but was never in the way. He could get the attention of our distracted crowd but was not rude about it. Even though I couldn't see what the shots looked like, I could tell they were going to be very creative in how he posed us. He did an awesome job for never being able to go to the site beforehand and scoping it out. He definetly made sure that we got a ton of shots, but did not hold us too long from our guests at dinner. I also liked how he would pause, look at the picture, smile, and tell us how good it looked. That's reassuring when you are posing! :) He was fun and made us feel very comfortable. I would say the pictures are a mix of formal posed and artistic "real life", which is exactly what I wanted. We also did a trash the dress session the next day, along with more "bridal" shots of me in my dress. We had a lot of fun and Jared was instrumental with us getting through the day. We had to check out of our hotel at noon (we were staying somewhere else for our honeymoon), he helped pack up our stuff quickly, fixed my dress a little (cause it was already almost "trashed" from the night before), and he also let us hang out in his room and rest (tired from the wedding the night before) while we waited to be able to check into our other hotel that we were going to do the TTD session. That is above and beyond service if you ask me!! Now for the pictures, they are amazing and I have gotten so many compliments on them. Like others have said, not only do we have "getting ready", "first look", ceremony, dinner, details, reception, and trash the dress photos, we also have beautiful photos of the wedding site and of our beautiful hotel that I really do appreciate having, because it was our vacation photos also! In total I think we have 800 photos on a cd with printing rights. He also makes albums. All in all, we walked away with awesome memories, amazing photos, and a new friend. :) Thanks so much Jared

We hired Jared for our destination wedding in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic May 2011. My original search resulted in a number of contenders, both amateur and widely published professionals. In the end I chose Jared because of two key reasons - he is extremely talented with natural light, where there is always plenty of (and sometimes TOO much of!) at a destination wedding. Secondly, his style was consistent through all his photos - I love photos that are slightly dreamlike and vintage-inspired but find many others overly photoshop their work. Jared is able to work with the natural light and add in some very natural post editing to create images that are flattering but still very realistic. Jared went above what we expected and covered not only our ceremony from start to finish, but also the reception, a trash the dress next day, protraits of us throughout the resort, and he even took many photos of the resort itself! Good thing because we were having so much fun, we forgot to ourselves. We received hundreds of images from Jared in a surprisingly short turn around time. Way more than we expected and we love them all! He was great to work with and really helped us relax and just have fun. Thanks again Jared! We are so happy we chose you!

Jared is an absolutely wonderful photographer!! He shot our wedding in May and we could not be happier with how the photos turned out. Some great things about Jared: 1. He is ALWAYS quick to respond when you contact him. If I had a question, I would send him an email and he would always reply by the end of the day. He answered every question thoroughly and made sure we knew we could contact him any time if we had any other questions. We were never confused about the process because he kept us very well informed! 2. A wedding is a BIG deal, but Jared makes his work seem so effortless!! He is VERY calm, collected, and joyful. He just made us feel so at ease!! Everything was so organized! We had no worries whatsoever about our wedding photography because we knew Jared had everything under control, which made our wedding so enjoyable!!! 3. His photos are AMAZING. He gives you a DVD with all of the edited high resolution photos (we got 650!!!!) with full printing release. My husband and I love looking through the pictures and reminiscing on our special day. We are so thankful that we had Jared to capture our wedding day!! I would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone who is looking for a photographer for any occasion. He was such a joy to work with!!!

I used Jared Rey Photography for my bridals, engagement, and my Wedding. I was not dissapointed once. He not only did an amazing job with my pictures, but he took the time to get to know my husband and I to pull out our true personalities in our pictures, and it truely shows. That ment a lot to us. If you don't already have a location in mind, he is great with coming up with Ideas, and has an amazing eye for poses as well. I would recommend him to anyone, for anything. I will contiune to use him for all of my family pictures in the years to come!
