We loved Jauhien’s natural and candid style of photography when we looked through his online portfolio and immediately knew that we wanted him as our photographer. My husband and I had to plan our entire wedding long distance, but this was no issue for Jauhien. He responded very quickly to all of our e-mails and even set up a Facetime meeting so that he could talk to me and my husband “face to face”. He really took the time to get to know what our wedding was going to be like so that he could be as prepared as possible. During this process, we really appreciated that he cared about providing us with the best possible product. He informed us when the best outside lighting would be available so that we could ensure that we would all be available for photographs at that time. He had previously photographed at our wedding venue, so he told us where bad shadows often fell during the ceremony and reception so that we could be sure not to stand in them. On the day of our wedding, Jauhien and his assistant Tasha were everything we had hoped. They were punctual and friendly and immediately got to work moving throughout the venue. If you are looking for a photographer to pose you and direct every finger or strand of hair into a perfect position, then this may not be the photographer for you. Jauhien mainly just snaps away as you go about your day. When you have your individual or couples pictures taken then his direction may be to “stand in front of that wall” or “look at each other”, but it doesn't get much more specific than that. This was exactly what we wanted, but I know some people may panic without very exact directions on what to do. Trust me though when I say that this method creates beautifully natural photographs. It was really enjoyable to see how much Jauhien and Tasha loved and knew about photography. They would get excited about different points of view and different lighting and they were endlessly creative in setting up shots. Jauhien was lying on his stomach in a field more than once to get a unique perspective. They also brought a good assortment of equipment, including a film camera. Additionally, even though it was 95 degrees outside, they never stopped wanting to take us outside to take more pictures. They were really invested throughout the whole day, and we really appreciated that. Finally, the pictures turned out to be gorgeous. We were able to see them on a website first, and then Jauhien sent us a USB drive with all of the images on it so that we could do whatever we pleased with them. We were immensely happy with the end result and we could not have asked for a better experience for our wedding.
