PLEASE listen to the negative reviews (on google) and DO NOT BOOK JAYLENE DAWN! We booked her in the summer of 2023 for our 2024 wedding. We signed a contract and paid her a $1300 retainer fee. We had our engagement shoot in October and she said she would deliver photos within a week. She did not. After two weeks, we tried to get in contact with her in every way possible. No response at all. She finally responded 6 weeks after our engagement shoot. This was only after we filed a dispute with PayPal and our social media post about her went viral (I did not name her in the video, but people in the comments started guessing correctly). She apologized and delivered the photos, and said she had not responded due to “personal issues that she did not feel comfortable sharing.” She offered to refund the retainer minus an engagement shoot fee. We asked her what she considered a fair rate for the engagement shoot, and she again neglected to respond. It is now 4 weeks later and she still has not responded. Thankfully, PayPal decided in our favor and refunded our $1300. However, her other clients have not been so lucky. From messages I received regarding the viral post, I know of two people who have had to hire lawyers, 2 who had to file police reports, and 1 who reported her to the MN Attorney general because they are still waiting on their photos and/or a refund. By my count, she’s ghosted a minimum of 8 people/couples over the last 1.5 years. She is obviously either a scammer or a very terrible businesswoman. DO NOT HIRE HER.

I do not recommend Jaylene. We had a great experience with her leading up to the wedding, however after the wedding that all changed. In the contract we signed with her it said we could expect our gallery within 8 weeks. Around that time I sent her a message checking in to see if that was still the case and when we could expect our photos. Heard nothing. I waited a week to send her another message still nothing. I tried calling. I had my day of coordinator contact her. I tried messaging her on instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and messaged her second shooter. Still nothing. This was over a period of a month. I finally consulted with a lawyer and was planning to pursue that action. I left her a message and sent a text letting her know this as well. I finally heard back from her the next day with my full gallery. She apologized and provided an explanation but It still does not account for the month of stress thinking I wasn’t getting my photos and just the lack of professionalism not even communicating until a lawyer had to be involved. It appears this is common, as the reviews on her website keep rolling in now saying she is scamming people and not providing them their photos as well. If you already have her booked for your wedding, I recommend getting out of your contract now, it’s not worth the stress and headache after one of the happiest days of your life.

Originally reviewed her on 9/12/23, a month after my wedding but now...Can I give negative stars? DO NOT HIRE JAYLENE. Everything was great, communication, engagement session, wedding day...until...she ghosted us. I’ve seen many more reviews with this same story. We were supposed to receive our photos (per our signed contract) 8 weeks after our wedding day, she texted me 2 days before she was going to send them telling us she was SO excited and finishing up final touches, that was the last I heard from her. I texted and emailed trying to see what happened. My sister even sent her a fake inquiry (which she responded to almost immediately, but still hadn't responded to me). Finally over a month later, she sent an email saying she had a personal matter which is why she was MIA. But, after reading and seeing all these other reviews similar to mine, I do not believe her story. We finally got our photos and I’m not as happy with them as I thought I would be from seeing her other galleries. After the fact she's not worth the stress and I wouldn't recommend her to anyone. She had also mentioned we would receive a upgraded gift for the troubles and have yet to receive it.

Jaylene is an amazing photographer! I’ve followed her since the beginning of her career. She’s taken my sons senior photos, my engagement photos and my wedding photos. And every session exceeded my expectations even more each time. Especially my wedding photos!! I am in love with all of my photos! It has definitely been hard to pick my favorites because every single photo was so so so beautiful! If you are looking for a wedding photographer with great communication and you’re a bit shy for the camera. JAYLENE MAKES MAGIC HAPPENS! She makes it comfortable for everyone. And not to mention she goes above and beyond for you and the shot! I love Jaylene, she’s absolutely wonderful to work with.
