Jean Smith was absolutely amazing!!! I cannot recommend her enough. She photographed my wedding in July 2022. The photos were beautiful and made me and my husband emotional relieving our day. Jean is so creative and really takes the work out of it for you. I gave her a very general shot list and was worried that I should have spent more time putting together ideas of what I liked. On wedding day, it became clear that my worries were unnecessary and Jean is a true professional. There was never a moment where she was unsure of what shot to get next. She directed us the entire time we had set aside for pictures and she got every shot and more than I could have ever wanted. My sister has already said that she will pick her wedding date around Jean's availability when the time comes for her to get married. I might be biased but the pictures were really the most beautiful wedding photos that I have ever seen. I am so happy Jean Smith was our photographer and highly recommend her to anyone considering!

Jean is amazing to work with! Not only does she have such a vision when working with couples but she makes you feel so comfortable in front of the camera. We hired Jean for our wedding and to say idk what we would have done with out her, would be an understatement. From our first phone call, to the day of the wedding.... she settled all my nerves, gave me the best advice, and made us feel so comfortable. I mean she even made our timeline for the wedding. She just has a way of making you feel at ease and truly knows how to make you look like a goddess. Jean is AMAZING- both as a photographer and as a person. When we first reached out, she immediately made us feel comfortable and we knew she would be perfect as our wedding day photographer. She was informative and stayed in touch/ updated us on the process from the very beginning. She gave us feedback and suggestions on first look locations and timelines, which was SO helpful as we had no idea what we were doing! Her eye and artistic ability is unreal. We completely trusted her to capture our day and we were blown away with what she delivered. Our pictures are beyond perfect and captured the feelings and love that were present the entire day. I could write a whole book on how great of a photographer she is but I think her photos speak for themselves (make sure to check out her Instagram and blog). Lastly- she was able to corral our 10 groomsmen and 10 bridesmaids throughout the entire day which is a HUGE task just in itself. We 10/10 recommend Jean and we can’t wait to use her as our photographer in the future.

Words cannot express how happy I am with the whole process and the end result. I have worked with Jean on several projects prior to the wedding years back, and had no doubt that I would want her as my wedding photographer even a decade later. Before the wedding, she would go through the logistics, any questions/requests you may have, and basically everything you need to know before your big day. On the day of, Jean showed up on time, was extremely easy to work with, and came with a huge smile on her face although the day was not going to be easy for her. She was literally on the ground trying to get the best shots possible. Jean made sure to capture the party in the best way possible with her unique artistic twist. And post wedding, you would get a sneak peek in a week or so, and then the rest of the photos in about six weeks. Every time we received an email from Jean, I felt like it was Christmas all over again! The bottom line is, you will not regret hiring Jean to capture the best day of your life, I certainly am happy with my photos!

When my now husband and I first got engaged the one thing we knew for certain was that Jean Smith had to photograph our special day. It started out with an incredible session in Detroit for our engagement photos-I knew after that two hour session she was the right choice! (There was never a doubt in my mind). Jean is talented, professional, and FUN! We were so nervous-thinking we must be the most awkward and stiff couple she’d ever captured. Her kind demeanor put us at ease right away. Fast forward to fall 2020-our big wedding day has been turned upside down. Jean was a constant for us throughout the entire pandemic. She reached out numerous times to check in and see how we were doing! Not even business related-just making sure we were holding up all right and that she had our back, no matter what we decided to do. Rob and I ended up having the wedding of our dreams and then some-albeit short 275 people. Many thanks to Jean for being a huge part of that. Our photos are simply perfect. She has an eye like I’ve never seen from other photographers. We can not say enough good things about her. We are beyond thrilled to be working with Jean for our wedding photography. After looking through numerous Michigan-based photographers, we chose to reach out to Jean because of her gorgeous, light, almost documentary-like style that mixed unique with traditional. We felt an instant connection chatting with her on the phone and with how detailed she is, while at the same time being extremely flexible and listening to how we envisioned our background and pose ideas. Our engagement photos are just beautiful - we wanted a lot -- photos with our dogs and around a few Detroit locations w/ outfit changes on a super windy, cold day. You would never even know how cold we were or that my dress broke during one outfit change. What could have been a disaster is now just a funny story -- Jean is such a calming, funny, warm person. Now, fast forward to 2020/21, we are on our 3rd wedding postponement and Jean has been there for us the entire way. While we are still waiting on a bigger wedding celebration later this year, we decided to get officially married in a "minimony" celebration in our backyard. Jean worked out a special package for us for the day, but also came to our minimony early, stayed late, kept us on track and really let us soak in the moment. Our photos are incredible and we are just so lucky to have her on this crazy journey with us!

Jean Smith is the absolute best! We hired her for our wedding in October 2016 (yes, this review is long overdue but it is never too late to rave about an amazing experience!). We went with the wedding package that includes an engagement session and at that time my husband and I were living in New York City. Jean had a trip to NYC in the spring of 2016 and was super accommodating to be able to fit in our engagement pictures while she was there. Instantly upon meeting Jean, she made us feel comfortable with her warm and fun personality! The pictures turned out incredible and since we no longer live in there, it is so fun being able to look back at them and reminisce about our time in that amazing city! Skip forward to the fall and our wedding day, Jean and her assistant did a beautiful job capturing the joy of the entire day! She has an incredible eye for capturing intimate moments in a unique but natural way. I can 100% promise that you will not regret the decision to go with Jean as your photographer!!!

Jean is AMAZING. Our wedding photos were everything that I dreamed of! Honestly, using Jean was the best purchase of my wedding! Jean is super sweet, easy to work with, and her work is stunning! I loved her work so much, that I have since used her for our newborn pictures for our daughter, and of course those picture were just as beautiful!! Jean is the most amazing photographer I have ever had! My husband and I used her for our engagement photos and wedding. She is professional, fun, kind, an amazing photographer and is so easy going, and comfortable. My husband and I were nervous about our engagement photos because we both aren’t very comfortable in front of a camera. Jean listened to our concerns and put us as ease right away. We got comfortable and the pictures were so incredible. I was less nervous for wedding pictures since we had already had our engagement session with her. Prior to the wedding day, she ensured she knew what pictures we wanted, created a timeline, and made a stressful time stress free. As we got ready and she started snapping photos she just did her thing and it was stress free. I’ve been in previous weddings and photos were always such a long process and everyone just wanted to get to the party. Not with Jean! She could direct the wedding party and family, she kept everyone moving, and was quick! She’s so professional and amazing I don’t think there’s a single bad photo. Because of this, we were able to participate in our cocktail hour, which we had really hoped for. I had the package where we got a photo book for both the engagement pictures and wedding pictures. It’s one of my favorite parts of the services she offers. The books are so beautiful and we always get so many compliments! She allows you to pick your favorite pictures and design of the outside of the book and she picks complimenting photos and takes care of the rest! I can’t say enough good things, Jean will absolutely be our go-to photographer for all future events!

Jean is INCREDIBLE!! We could not be happier with our wedding photos. She was fun and easy to work with. We really wanted to focus on being in the moment, so it meant so much to us to have a photographer that we trusted to capture the day in such an authentic and beautiful way. Jean was simply amazing. My husband and I scheduled a small, intimate wedding that didn't fit within her typical wedding packages but she easily worked with us to come up with a package that worked well for us. She seamlessly organized our two chaotic families and took amazing photos. Neither of us would describe ourselves as people who are easy in front of a camera but she made us feel so comfortable. The photos we received from her were just perfect. She has a beautiful eye for photography and is able to create wonderful and unique images in addition to the classic family/wedding photos. She deserves ALL the stars. I found Jean by referral from another bride that absolutely raved about her and her team. Our first encounter was actually the wedding day and SHE DID NOT DISAPPOINT. From the moment we met, I knew I could trust her to bring so much beauty to my day. She was so kind and helpful. I can be really stiff, but she made it so much fun and exciting and made us all feel so comfortable!! It was like hanging with family. She takes pride in capturing those precious moments and she is so talented at it doing just that. She really captured our day magically. I didn't think I could feel as beautiful as she made me feel. Jean is an INCREDIBLE talent. She was recommended to me by two different people and I fell in love with her Instagram feed from the start. She took our engagement photos in NYC and wedding photos in Detroit and they are just absolutely breathtaking. BEST DECISION WE MADE FOR OUR WEDDING. Where to start... Jean is amazing. When I first saw Jean's work on Instagram I loved her style, tone, and editing. I quickly went on her website to inquire about booking her. Her response time was fast and we set up a call within days. From our first conversation on the phone I felt confident that she was the right choice. Doing all payments and forms online made the process smooth and easy to navigate. She was a huge help with the day-of scheduling and planning. Jean was very warm and friendly when she arrived on my wedding day, keeping the mood fun and easy. Her and her assistant laughed and celebrated along with us. Then the photos came and OMG they were amazing. I loved every single one! Couples, families, future brides run and book this amazing woman! After having a somewhat disappointing experience with our out of town engagement session [awkward and a little bit of not knowing what to expect] with another photographer I immediately knew how important finding the right person for our special day was. Enter Jean. We knew she was something special from the start. From helping us with our tight timeline to teaching me how to hold my dress and making us feel comfortable infront of the camera, Jean [and her awesome sidekick Laura] exceeded our expectations tenfold. OMG. Where do I begin?! Jean was the absolute best. She was detailed, organized, and her photos turned out breathtaking. She listened to everything I wanted and greatly succeeded it. I can’t say enough positive things about Jean because honestly, her work speaks for itself. Jean is an incredible, dynamic, powerhouse of a photographer. She has the gift of putting her subjects at ease while capturing their pure emotions. From our engagement photos to our wedding photos, Jean has given us the ability to relive the best memories from this time in our lives and we’ll cherish that forever.
