When I learned that the Tioga pass (the road to Glacier and Taft Point in Yosemite) was closed for the year, I told him that maybe I will just postpone the photoshoot to the following year. He told me his thoughts that even though those sites were closed, there are so much other sites in Yosemite that are just about as amazing as those. So I booked a sunrise wedding photoshoot session with him. We met at the crack of dawn, and he told us that he has been on the road since 1AM! Even though we know he was tired, he drove us around Yosemite to capture gorgeous photos in numerous locations. We got along so well and talked about life stories and his career and experience. That’s not the only best part, but he is also a Jeeper! No wonder we got along so well! He had so much crazy ideas (from us standing over big logs by the waterfalls to us standing over the ledge of a bridge), but the crazier, the BETTER! He made us so comfortable and confident, even in the center of so many people watching over us. He showed us a few photos 2 hours after the shoot, just enough to tease us. And was able to deliver the rest of the photos 2 days after! So much fast turnaround. Not only does he capture photos in California, but people hire him even internationally! We are so amazed by his work and experience. Definitely going to book another shoot with him in the future!

Jeff and his team truly captured some of our favorite shots we have ever taken, and were fucking cool as hell, while being professional, the whole way through. ing. He was simultaneously an invisible wedding guest and also our best friend. Exactly what you need from an event photographer! A few days in advance of our wedding, Jeff our family in Yosemite for engagement photos and family portraits. He jumped in our rented van and took us on a tour of all the most incredible photo locations. Everything was timed perfectly so that we could get epic shots at Taft Point at sunset, as well as tremendously fun photos along the way. By the end of the day my brother-in-law was all but inviting him to be best friends. The day of the wedding the family was abuzz with how excited they were to see Jeff again. Words can't describe the value of having someone you can truly trust and feel comfortable with recording your most important day. Husband and I are so glad that we chose Jeff to be our guy.

I had seen Jeff's photos before and, without fail, every single photo made me stop in my tracks as they were gorgeous, unique and every one looked they had just come right out of a magazine. (If you're reading this, you already know what I'm talking about.) And let's be real, what bride/couple doesn't want jaw-dropping, show-stopping photos? After talking to Jeff the first time, I not only recognized he would be worth every penny, but my engagement/wedding wouldn't be the same without him. Then we did out engagement photos and it was obvious time wasn't of the essence for Jeff. He didn't think about the time you booked him for, he cared about getting THE PERFECT shots (that's right, not just one, but he wanted every shot to be perfect). And if you're an adventure person, he's your guy - what other photographer will stand in a creek, almost drop his camera but still make sure he gets THE shot?? He made it where by the time the wedding came around, we trusted him with everything - including having us walk through rocks and snow to get to a pier for, again THE PERFECT SHOT. Every vendor we worked with recognized he was a rockstar. Beyond that, he turned photos around quickly (and if you've ever waited for photos, you know how impatient that can be) and made sure the couple was SET for the day. Including having the photos you don't think you have time for at the moment, but he knows you'll want later. SUMMARY: Consult with Jeff. Book Jeff. No matter where your wedding is, domestic, international, in your own backyard. Make him the first vendor you book and everything else will fall into place. The End.

the wrong choice and way before that I had already came across his pictures and was blown away by his amazing work! I actually cancelled the contract I made with the other photographer and contacted Jeff right away to see if he was available for our wedding date. I think the investment you make in the pictures is one of your top priorities because they are memories that stay for a lifetime! We had two engagement sessions and both times Jeff was able to pull off the best shoot even with the weather not being on our side! And of course, he did amazing at our wedding! After looking through Jeff’s gallery, we knew we had to choose him. And lucky for us, he agreed to work with us. My daughter hates having her picture taken so they tend to look very staged or unnatural. Jeff is so fun and friendly and made my daughter feel so comfortable. He was somehow able to capture her so perfectly. We gave him our vision and he executed it perfectly. Her pictures are simply perfect. He was already booked for the wedding date..July 27, 2019 not surprised as he is that good..so we had him photograph engagement pictures. But Jeff was so good at directing us and giving us little things to do to make us feel more comfortable and to get our minds off of being in front of the camera. He was so incredibly nice, flexible, and understanding, and it shows through his work. Our engagement and wedding photos are truly spectacular and we couldn’t be happier with them.

eginning, Jeff had great communication with us; replying to our questions/concerns in a professional manner and with a quick turnaround time. He is transparent with everything he does so we were always on the same page throughout the entire process. Jeff’s work ethics and his passion for photography speak for themselves through his photos. He has his vision and ideas of how to capture angles, lighting, moments, but he also is very open to his clients’ ideas and what they envision their day to be or what specific moments should be captured. For our engagement session, Jeff was really patient working with us on our locations and giving us feedback on how we could make the most of our session. From the e-session, it was clear that Jeff’s work is quality over quantity. Although we took many shots of the same pose, the proofs showed that Jeff wanted everything to be perfect in that shot – from the lighting, composition, angle, everything. By the end of the e-session, we almost forgot that we were doing a professional shoot because we had become comfortable around Jeff and his cameras. Fast forward to our wedding day, my husband and I were concerned that Jeff and his team would not be able to capture everything that we hoped to have. But Jeff’s team did not disappoint. They did a fantastic job keeping up with the day, capturing both candid and professional shots. Jeff’s team was prompt and was ready to go at each location provided to them. I also want to point out that Jeff was feeling under the weather that day but he was a fighter, pushing through shooting outside with the wind and stayed for the entire day without complaining. That shows great dedication and customer service to your clients. Regarding the end products of Jeff’s services, they are PHENOMENAL! Jeff is consistently upgrading his products to provide the highest quality to his clients. When designing our wedding album, Jeff contacted us (after we had finalized the selection) saying that he overlooked the amount of pages and that he doesn’t cheat his clients. Honesty goes a long way and so does being patient to view the photos. It’s often difficult to remember that Jeff has a lot of clients, so keep that in mind as you are eagerly waiting to see the proofs of your session. Our photos from both our e-session and wedding day came out beautifully and portrayed exactly the people my husband and I are. Lastly, one of the things that we really appreciate about Jeff is that he goes beyond his job as a photographer. He is sentimental and truly cares for his clients. He continues to maintain great communication with us after the wedding which shows that it is not all about business but about creating a relationship, a friendship. In addition to what we contracted with him, my husband and I received a few additional surprises from him that we cannot thank you him enough for. Bottom line: Jeff is awesome. His service is professional. His products are amazing. His prices are justifiable based on his work. Everything about him is just absolutely wonderful!

He was willing to hike up a trail in Yosemite with us and captured some gorgeous pictures along the way! Also, he pushed us to climb on rocks, a wall, etc, and I am so glad he did! Not only did it feel like a fun adventure literally the whole day, but all of our pictures were flawless! Overall, me and my fiancé had such a great time exploring and taking photos with Jeff and we would recommend him to anyone who wants their special day photographed- I couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

I will say, that I did get some beautiful pictures from my wedding day, but the stress and awkwardness that came along with Jeff was definitely not worth it. This was a surprise since his reviews were amazing and I was sure I had found a photographer that would make my wedding extra special. However, I soon found out that after I paid the 50% deposit, it was very difficult to get ahold of Jeff to plan our engagement session, and once we did it was equally difficult to get the pictures back from him. He would tell me to expect them in a couple of days and it ended up being a couple of weeks. He often told me one thing and did another, which caused a lot of frustration. If you use Jeff I would recommend having in your contract the length of time to expect the pictures both engagement and wedding (which apparently most do), which would remove this complication. The “final edited” photos I received from my wedding, I asked for 400 to be edited, instead, he sent me all 1500, which may sound like a good thing but it wasn’t. I had to then go back through and find the ones I actually wanted again, all had a generic filter that washed out some of the faces, very little attention was given and there was some that still had his assistance or cars in the background that he was supposed to edit out. Additionally, many of our group photos people faces were covering other faces and there were many that we just could not use (I mean basic photography is when you look through the lens you can see each person face…right?), he also lined my bridesmaids up unevenly on either side of me in a couple of pictures, giving the photo a lopsided effect. To be honest, looking back on the day I am not surprised by the photos I received because of the moment he showed up at my parent’s house to take the pre-wedding photos, he seems to be annoyed and would rather be anywhere but where he was. I received many comments from my bridesmaids that day, wondering what his deal was, again which is very surprising considering all his previous reviews. I would suggest if you choose Jeff, you have some cute pictures ideas ready to go because it was pulling teeth to get him to come up with ideas, and thankfully I had some vocal friends who helped in this area. I would also recommend you have a list of specific photos you want to have and have someone checking it off because the day gets very hectic and even though you think you are getting a million pictures you will miss some important ones, like one of just me and my mom. I also asked him to take photos of me by myself, I mean I’m the bride and only dressing up like this once in my lifetime and he told me that he got the shot and we did not need anymore. He was right; we got ONE shot with me looking down and away from the camera, that was it. I was very disappointed with Jeff both personally and professionally, and if you were lucky and had a great experience with him I am very happy for you, however, for me, that was not the case and I will never recommend his services to anyone. However, the lady who he brought as his second photographer was wonderful and she took some of my favorite pictures of the day, and I truly appreciate all her input and suggestions she gave! I hope this review is helpful.

is. He works so quickly and confidently, and it's never a chore or, even during the staged family shots. Many of our friends say they didn't even notice we had a Wedding photographer, and yet he captured all of them in wonderful, natural pictures. After watching so many friends struggle with demanding photographers who 'take over' the event, it was so wonderful to work with someone who has such a confident, laid back style. He is truly fantastic and was the best to work with, highly recommend.

winter time. When I approached Jeff with the idea he was so excited and immediately said he loved to do it!! We worked together over the next few weeks to find a good spot. We ended up identifying a location that would require us to use snowshoes to access. Again, Jeff was all for it and seemed excited at the opportunity! A huge storm passed through the area in the days leading up to the engagement and left a ton of fresh snow on the ground. Jeff took it upon himself to snowshoe through 3-4' of snow to make a trail for my fiancé and I up to our location. When the snow got too deep to continue, he made a perfect spot for the engagement and marked it with some sticks so I'd know where to stand while still allowing for great pictures! Once the surprise was done and he came out of hiding, he produced a bottle of champagne for my fiancé and sparkling apple cider for me, (he knew I didn't drink alcohol). Are you kidding me?!! He literally thought of everything! We spent the next hour or so taking additional pictures in the snow. Jeff put us both at ease and has such a good eye for what will look amazing. We are blown away by how beautiful the pictures turned out. Not to mention that we got the edited versions back from him the same night! I would recommend Jeff for anyone at anytime for any event without question!

now capturing the special moment. I found out the extravagant plans after that Jeff actually created a trail in the snow a mile up Picnic Rock in Tahoe. I can’t thank him enough for helping make that day perfect for me! Can’t wait to have him at the wedding!

I was very appreciative that Jeff not only gave us pictures we can love forever, but truly captured how our personalities mesh together and the genuine happiness.

From the very beginning, when we met in person to review his work and packages, to now - when we are going through and selecting images for our wedding albums, Jeff has been excellent. Scheduling meetings has been super easy, and frankly the photographs he takes are in a class by themselves. We spent 4 hours together during our engagement session, and ended up having 2 wardrobe changes and 6 different locations; there were curveballs that day but he handled everything perfectly and delivered some truly beautiful shots. At the wedding, he showed up early and stayed late - and brought along not one but TWO additional photographers to help. I am still going through the pictures and it is SO HARD to pick album shots, because there literally are hundreds of amazing pictures, not to mention we got our photos in 1 WEEK! Cannot recommend more highly!

The preview slideshow is one of my favorite parts- being able to sit back and watch the wedding story unfold is very powerful and his work on the slideshow allows us to relive our wedding weekend on Catalina Island again and again. After getting the full album of pictures, turns out we were equally impressed with every single picture in the whole album! Every picture is worth framing and we have no idea how we’re going to choose. This is a terrific problem to have! Jeff has an incredible attention to detail and is one of the hardest working people we have ever met. He is a true professional and every step of the way he was communicative, easygoing, and frankly, exactly what we were looking for in a photographer. We had a wedding weekend celebration on Catalina Island and Jeff really captured our story well. While in the garden showing some family and friends around (mind you, no announcement was made that we were heading there), I turned around and there was Jeff, capturing it all. Jeff was also up until 1am taking pictures Friday night and somehow also has pictures of the sunrise the following morning, our wedding day (which we certainly weren’t up for!). He has pictures of my nephew swimming in the ocean for the first time, and a friend doing a backflip off the float… his dedication to capturing the wedding story of his clients goes beyond just the wedding itself, but extends to the emotion and story of real moments that happen throughout the whole experience. He got pictures of things we didn’t even know he was there for. While Jeff’s pictures speak for themselves, what is equally remarkable is Jeff’s professionalism, adaptability, incredible work ethic, friendliness, and fun demeanor. He so easily fit into whatever was going on and was all a pleasure to be around! Aside from getting married and choosing for it to be on Catalina Island, where my husband and I met, Jeff was the best decision we made while planning our wedding. While there is much to stress about during the whole process and especially on the day, having Jeff as our photographer was one thing we never thought twice about. His pictures are authentic (never forced or too posed) and he really knows what he’s doing. We will be forever grateful for his talent. Along with having amazing memories captured through his lens, we really had a great time with Jeff and are so happy to have spent the whole weekend with him. We would hire him again in a heartbeat a thousand times over! We can’t thank Jeff enough for capturing what he did and for giving us the gift of pictures we will treasure forever!! From the moment we met for our gorgeous engagement shoot he made us feel relaxed and taught us everything we needed to know about standing for a faultless shot. We felt that Jeff really made the effort to get to know us and ensured that the photos of our wedding reflected our personalities which offered a really nice personal touch. There was nothing else that we needed to do from that point on. He took control of all the beautiful shots and created masterpieces. His techniques wasn’t just about taking as many photos as possible but he treats each click as an art piece; he’s photography style really proved that he needs to get the perfect shot with each stance. On the day of the wedding, his ability to come through without us breaking a sweat was incredible. His professionalism, punctuality and clear creativity was everything we needed on that day. If I had to choose one photography quality that Jeff embraces is his work with natural lighting; which makes you believe he sees the world differently. Once you see the shots he has produced, you understand the art so clearly. Everything was perfect and nearly 1,000 shots (wedding alone) of pure gold that will treasure forever. Jeff was so different from other photographers; he brought with him books of entire weddings he shot. As we flipped through them we were amazed- every photo really is high quality and spectacular! Jeff also has a very excitable yet humble personality that told us he would be an absolute joy to work with. When we did our engagement shoot with him, he spent time with us prior to shooting to teach us helpful poses to take a lot of the guess work out of the shoot. It enabled our shoot to go smoothly as he would call out a pose, and we would immediately know what he wanted from us! He is very vocal during shoots- giving description to his vision, and positive reinforcement. He has the ability to make you feel very confident and beautiful. Our engagement photos were the best photos we have of us as a couple, until Jeff shot our wedding. We recently got married in July and are beyond thrilled with the photos we have gotten so far in our sneak peak. Jeff showed up with his team on the day of the wedding and immediately got to work! They all worked together so well under Jeff's direction, so that it was an easy and stress-free process. Even when we were constrained by time, Jeff was easily able to work with the pressure to help us capture beautiful photos that we will treasure forever. I would absolutely recommend Jeff to anyone! Hall. On November 11, 2017 my fiance and I signed a Gold Wedding Package contract with Jeff Hall Photography for our wedding weekend the following year on September 29-30, 2018. This was a unique situation in which we needed his services for 2 days: an adventure race we were completing on Saturday and our wedding on Sunday. We submitted a payment of $1650 on November 11, 2017 and another $1650 on September 23, 2018. On September 28 at 5:41pm (14 hours before he was to begin photographing us) I received an email stating "This whole time I had in my mind that the race was on Sunday and the ceremony was on Monday. I have a wedding on Saturday but I don't want you to worry, I already have a photographer lined up to get all of the photos at the race." I responded, "...We had all this planned and signed the contract with you and not a friend photographer. It's not that we don't believe he is good but that's not what we signed up for.....The reason we signed with you was because of your obstacle course race experience. we spent the most money on photography- so that you could shoot this race for us." He replied, "I know and I am so sorry, it is my fault 100% and I know it's not what you signed up for but I do know that I want to do what is best for you." I asked if he expected us to still pay full price for this other person to take photos that wasn't agreed to in our contract. He stated he would have to pay the photographer to be there on Saturday and wanted to work this out with us. We decided that we wanted our money back since there was a breach of contract and would scramble to find another adventure photographer of our choosing within the next 14 hours. Jeff wrote back "Just know that it's going to take me a little bit but yes I am going to refund you 100%." Fast forward 11 days (after we return from our honeymoon) and I message Jeff, asking when we can expect funds back from him. He doesn't respond. Two days later I again message (through both email and text) asking if we can resolve this dispute. Not only does he not respond, but he then defriends my husband & I on facebook. Our contract states that "Refund shall be paid out within thirty (30) calendar days from the cancellation date." 30 minutes after I posted my original YELP review on October 15, 2018 Jeff texted me asking, "Are you OK if I give you $1000 now and the balance ASAP?" I replied, "Yes [I] would happily take $1000 now as long as we continue to receive the rest of the money in a reasonable time frame. Your contract stated 30 days, so if this can't be done (2 weeks from now), I would like to know how much longer you intend on taking." His response was, "My #1 mission is to get you paid off as soon as I can do it. I have tried to be very up front and honest with you." As he didn't answer my question, I again asked, "How long do you intend to take to pay us back?" I received no response for 6 more days and did not receive the $1000.

the moments and emotions in the most beautiful way possible—our pictures are truly stunning! The whole experience was a joy from beginning to end. Jeff is responsive, easy to work with, and his passion for what he does is contagious. He is truly willing to do anything and go anywhere for a great picture. I really cannot say enough great things about Jeff Hall, but I can promise you that you will not be disappointed with him as your photographer. We CANNOT WAIT to have Jeff photograph our upcoming wedding, as well as any other life events in the future!
