I never felt like I was being sold on anything or that I was paying over price. She was happy to answer any questions via email and set up multiple meetings to talk through the details. We had a disco ball installation over the dance floor and she worked directly with that vendor to coordinate the greenery that would be included. and postponed due to the pandemic. I started working with Jen, Kendall and Olivia in April of 2018. As many of you know, planning a wedding during a pandemic was pretty stressful and I am not sure I would have been Able to do it without these ladies. They eased my anxiety, kept me organized, and helped me the entire way through the process. They are truly professionals and masters of their craft. They are so personable, fun, easy to work with and I honestly enjoyed and looked forward to all the meetings. Nothing seemed like work to me when I was working with them! Not only are they incredible at design, coordination and event planning, their florals are incredible. I almost passed out when I saw my bouquet the morning of the wedding. They exceeded my expectations and everything was so magical and beautiful. My florals had a great mix of traditional and modern. They listened to what I wanted, but put their own spin and magic touches on it which I loved. I never once had to question my decision to hire them because once you see their work, you will instantly trust them! You will not regret working with Jen, Kendall and Olivia!

and they DELIVERED-- she was thick, heavy, huge gorgeous florals. I was just trying to soak up all the flowers because I couldn't believe I had to get on a plane the next day and leave them behind. It was truly stunning. They were incredibly supportive and sweet over the course of planning our wedding and having to postpone. I know for a fact they were working insane hours in fall 2021 with all the re-booked weddings--I never heard a whisper of a complaint. They treated every event like it was their Super Bowl, and it did not go unnoticed. They worked their butts off to make our day so so so dreamy. I need them to know just how much their hard work made our day incredible!!
Now--for the coordination. We hired Best Day Ever, the planning and coordination services through JHD, and Olivia Ballow. You guys--Olivia was my rock. She is so supremely organized, professional, ready to help. She made the entire day run like clockwork. I wiped out in my ballgown and broke part of my dress before the ceremony (true story), Olivia had needle, thread, tissues, and champagne with a straw while we sewed up the near-disaster. Leading up to the wedding she was so knowledgeable and helpful, she has everything down to a science. Not to mention she is just an incredibly lovely person. Every one of my family members was singing her praises the day after the wedding--they couldn't believe that Olivia managed such a complicated event, smiled the entire time, was prepared for everything. I literally wish I could run an advertisement campaign for Olivia because that is how much I love her and how much she deserves the praise. She and her team were running up and down from hotel rooms to event space, making sure I always had food or a drink, keeping us on schedule, adjusting photo timelines for the bad weather. I don't ever write reviews but Olivia deserves it. I would have paid three times the amount to have her there on the day. She is an angel and you NEED to hire her.

fter an issue with my original florist I made several appointments to shop around and after meeting with JHD the decision was clear. They are so professional and creative but also fun! Being that they are former wedding planners too is seriously an added bonus! I felt their prices were extremely fair for the services offered. I am not very creative and had just a few ideas of my vision and they took the ball and ran with it and gave me exactly what I was looking for. I had other snags throughout my wedding planning process, one being my actual wedding planner... After several face to face meetings with Jen and Kendall, they always checked in on me not just for floral but all planning and when I informed them of the issues I was having with my current planner they had a solution! They had just started Best Day Ever- their coordination service and it truly saved me!! I was less than a month out with they jumped in to help me finish planning but luckily they knew so much about my wedding (more than my original planner) because of all of our floral meetings. After all my stress, they were the ones to help me relax because I knew I could trust them! The day of our wedding was flawless. If anything actually went wrong I had no clue. Kendall and Olivia were so absolutely on top of everything and had anything we needed. There was ZERO stress. It was AMAZING! Exactly how I hoped my day would go. you reading this, that are not familiar with the wedding industry, this is not common or typical. We honor and appreciate all reviews after we’ve actually provided services and understand that vendor reviews are a great resource for couples planning their wedding. However, we will just simply respond and say that anyone reading this review, who thinks its both reasonable and sane to leave a negative and nearly slanderous review of a company you met with once, and didn’t actually hire to work with you on your wedding day, should probably continue their search for another florist and designer. We are most likely not the right fit for you. However, if you find this review grossly unnecessary, think it’s a pretty crappy thing to do to a small business, and/or it doesn’t deter you from coming in to discuss our beautiful work, well, we’d love to have you come on in and see us for an initial consultation. You’re probably, most definitely, “our kind of people” and we’d love to meet! :-) Additionally, we do take credit cards, always have, and always will. This bride never even inquired about credit card options, just simply wrote us a beautiful email about how wonderful it was to meet with us, sang our praises, and then with absolutely no other communication, or questions, left us this undeserved review. Zero questions about payments or policies. If she had asked, she’d most certainly know that we do in fact take credit card payments online, in person, and via phone. Lastly, we’d like to mention that we are ALWAYS flexible on deposits if someone can’t take on the initial, industry-standard, commitment of 50%. Just ask! We are known around town for being friendly and flexible and are happy to assist and make adjustments to our payment schedule. :-)

The week before the wedding we met Kendall and we finalized all of our wedding details. She was just as patient and amazing as Jen. On the day of our wedding, my bouquet, corsages, and boutonnieres were delivered on time and pinned by the staff. And what a great staff! They got there on time and they were able to accommodate us when one of the bridesmaids corsages went suddenly missing. From the first meeting to the last phone calls, they constantly asked questions to gain an understanding of exactly what we wanted our wedding day to look like. Every detail from the ceremony florals, to the ferns outside on the veranda, to the stunning tables made up of alternating branches and floral centerpieces, to the garlands of greenery draped around the room, to the place settings was exactly the elegance we dreamed, and exceeded our expectations. The flowers Jen House Design filled the room with were breathtaking… I still can’t get over the size of some of the peonies. The florist team put together the most beautiful (and sturdy!) bouquets, and even brought us back up boutonnieres which was a life saver! The attention to detail in order to make every guest’s place setting perfect did not go unnoticed by our guests. Our guests complimented us on the attention to detail and the decor of the evening from start to finish. The work they did on the bouquets and bouts was gorgeous and the floral arrangements for our cocktail hour and reception centerpieces were stunning. They were able to get candles anywhere they could - which was definitely a must. Jen House's team completed drop-off of the bouquets to the hotel and were at the venue to give each groomsman and the groom a professional 'pinning-on' of the bouts. Kendall and Anna were at our venue to set up the reception tables and ceremony flowers. They stayed to be sure the room flip was seamless and even put out a few small 'fires' with the venue set-up crew. Our table names were not supposed to be in addition to the venue table numbers and they immediately spoke to the venue staff and remedied the issue. They promptly arrived for cleanup and were out in a jiffy. Prior to the wedding the communication with Jen House Design was seamless and we had multiple meetings to confirm all details. They have a cute studio in downtown Plymouth and make you, the client feel right at home. I even booked them to do the flowers for my shower. They were able to take a professional photo I pinned with glitter at the bottom of the flower bowl and made it a reality. I am beyond impressed with their service, professionalism and ability to beat all expectations. My mom, right before the wedding tried to hire them for day of coordination, but alas they were not available so close to the big day. I have no doubt that they would rise above expectation in that service as well. I would recommend them for all services they provide. What can I say?! I found this team on Instagram and it was love at first sight - the greenery, the flowers, it was just everything! But here's the best part... they don't just deliver an AMAZING product, they spend the time to get to know YOU ...
and what you like, what you don't, what your style is, what your budget is, and then they execute pure perfection. They stuck to our budget and transformed our wedding space. From the incredible flowers, greenery, the beautiful stunning chuppah, the gorgeous candles and candelabras, the stationary and signs that they CUSTOM designed for us- Oh, the stationary! They made our dream day a dream come true, including all of the little personal details we wanted to make our wedding feel unique to us. And let me just say, aside from being talented and amazing, they are also people you ENJOY hanging out with. Like as in, I'm sad my wedding is over because I miss communicating with them on the regular. They are fun, they are funny, and they keep the whole wedding process fun and stress free. What more could you ask for?! As an out of town bride planning from Los Angeles, they were also incredibly accessible over e-mail, phone and Skype and worked around my schedule when I was in town. I really can't say enough good things other than I wish I could hit rewind and do this whole wedding thing all over again because I see every wedding they've done since mine on Instagram and I have serious floral/wedding envy!!!! If you want a stunning, breathtaking, beautiful wedding that is FUN to plan then use Jen House Design!!!!!

Originally, our ceremony was going to be outdoors and when it started pouring rain mere hours before we were slated to start, Jen and her team rolled up their sleeves and helped to move everything indoors. They were able to transform our "Plan B" into an equally beautiful ceremony space...and in fact, it ended up working out BETTER than our original "Plan A" in the first place. If you are looking for unique, stunning floral design....choose Jen House, hands down. I have had people texting me days after the wedding asking who did our flowers! It also doesn't hurt that they are the sweetest, coolest ladies around as well! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

s not great and it ended up causing a lot of stress leading up to my wedding day. Despite my bouquet being gorgeous, it was not what I had envisioned or asked for / discussed with them. They simply went off one of the pictures on my pinterest account (the bouquet I liked, not the one I loved or discussed with them). Perhaps if there was better communication instead of assumptions made it would have turned out better. At the end of the day my bouquet was still lovely, I was just thrown off with what it looked like when I first saw it. Not only did they communicate poorly with me, they were the only vendor that did not fill out the appropriate paperwork with my venue. The week of my wedding I had to go with a larger florist to cover the ceremony flowers that Jen House Design was unable to do. All of this again as a result of not being able to contact them appropriately, and them not actually reading any of my emails. They were very busy leading up to my wedding; constantly out of town with their office closed. Perhaps they have gotten too large / popular to manage all their weddings with their current staff. Again, at the end of the day the flowers were delivered on time and looked lovely. If you are a Type A personality bride who knows exactly what you want and can communicate that, has the time and resources to constantly stay in communication with Jen House Design, then they can be an amazing florist for you. If however you are more of a laissez-faire bride as I am, I would recommend going with a larger florist with a shop front that may have more time, staff, and resources for your wedding.
Note - I tried to write this review being completely honest to help brides make a decision and not to villainize them. This is because they do make beautiful flower arrangements using fresh flowers. That is why I went with them as my florist for my wedding. However, to clarify: Michigan was a destination wedding for me. I never asked to meet on a holiday, my first communication with them was July 6th. No one gave me my bouquet, it was waiting in a box at my venue when I arrived. I do not care for any particular flower. We talked about having a heart shaped bouquet of flowers in season - my bouquet ended up being round (lovely none the less as I mentioned just not what I was expecting). The 2 star review was not based on how the flowers looked but the fact that I was in tears on several occasions as I could not get a hold of them and I did not know what to do. I tried very hard on my end to get a hold of them. I had no issues with any other of the vendors that I selected. All my stress came from my florist selection. Unfortunately I think I was the "out of sight, out of mind" bride for them as I live in Germany.

We are surprised to have received this harsh and unfair 2-star review, as we were quite certain you were pleased with your design and have no indication to the contrary. Until now that is. It sounds like overall you were indeed please...
d, as the flowers were "beautiful", "lovely", and "timely". A two star review seems a bit unwarranted, wouldn't you agree? You gave us no indication that you were displeased and exclaimed with joy when we presented your bouquet to you. The bouquet you "loved" was made purely of spring, out-of-season lilacs and completely unavailable your time of year. We were clear that the photo was being used on your design board for color inspiration and that in no way could we obtain lilacs for your bouquet. The second photo was what we used for a realistic interpretation of your wishes and used that to inspire the bouquet we made for you. We stand by our communication on this and are sorry that explaining the confines of working with seasonal, live, floral didn't translate to you or to your bouquet.
As for communication, we pride ourselves on our ability to connect with clients and communicate. You are correct- we could not meet with you when you requested, July 4th weekend. We were celebrating with our families. Also, little to no communication was initiated by you about your order due to your being out of the country. The only other attempt to meet with us, that worked for us all was 4 days before your wedding, 48 hours before your floral was to be delivered in studio and, so, no, we couldn't meet your request to have 2 very large arrangements for church made for you.
We are excessively clear about our being a boutique floral design studio, Lizzie. You are correct we are not a road-side, strip- mall florist that have retail floral in house at all times. Our literature, our website, our consults explain this very clearly. We are also clear about our deadlines for ordering, and our capabilities. While this can be frustrating for last minute brides, most of our clients would meet the requirements we have for ordering and find it to be a relief that we attempt to keep things organized and detailed prior to the week of your wedding.
This review has one very important and valid reflection, which is that yes, indeed, we are looking to work with clients who want to communicate more than just days before their wedding, or on or near a holiday weekend. We seek clients who understand the benefits of working with a small, but hyper detailed, communicative design studio. And not just communicative on the cleints terms, but desire a vendor working relationship that nurtures respect for everyones time. That we are absolutely looking for a client that loves their planning, and wants to participate in the process of designing their day. And, that as you are reading this, and you take anything from this brides review or our response, we hope it's that we are indeed a boutique floral design firm, a small business with devotion and dedication to the details looking to strike open, forthcoming, participatory and kind relationships with our design clients.
