Jennie is an amazing person and photographer. From the initial zoom call I knew she needed to be my wedding photographer, just talking with her makes you smile. I saw a sample gallery of hers and could just feel the emotions of the wedding day of a couple I never met. She brought the perfect energy into our wedding and was a great balance to the chaos of the day. Jennie captured so many beautiful candid moments, she seems to be everywhere but at the same time blending in with our guests so well. Absolutely recommend!

When my partner and I began our photographer search a year out, we had narrowed it down to a select few. We agreed we wanted to support the LGBTQ+ community through our vendors. Jennie quickly captured my attention through her work. The website, her blogs, level of detail, and her photography skills. Jennie was booked up for the day of our wedding, however she connected us with her associates, Candice and Savannah. We had the chance to schedule a virtual session and meet with Candice. Candice displayed a warm and caring personality that really made us feel comfortable and excited to work with her. We had our ceremony and reception held at the Space Gallery, Denver. The team did an incredible job on our wedding day. Full of energy, laughter, and joy. We are so happy with how everything turned out. Our photos look stunning, full of vibrant colors, and really captured the best moments. Both my partner and I can be shy around photos, but this team puts you at ease and helps get the awkward feelings out of the way. We were also able to work with Jennie to have a post-wedding engagement photo shoot. She was able to share some awesome locations around Boulder, CO to capture the Fall season. Jennie is amazing! From our first call with her, through the wedding and afterward, she was very professional, organized, and confident, which helped us stay relaxed and comfortable throughout. She has a great eye for light and composition, and her photography captured the emotion and color we were hoping for. We were very happy with all of the photos we received! Cannot say enough good things about working with Jennie. It was really important for us to have a queer photographer and we immediately knew Jennie was the right fit! I genuinely can't say enough good things about Jennie Crate and Candice. My wife and I have never been great in front of a camera. Candice made us feel SO comfortable, was able to easily get us to be ourselves, and truly capture who we are on the most important day of our lives. Candice captured so many great photos of not only us, but of our family and friends. She was everywhere taking photos while hardly ever being seen and always fast so we could spend ample time experiencing our wedding. TLDR: Jennie Crate Photography was very organized, communicated exceptionally well, made us feel comfortable, captured our relationship excellently, and truly cared. Jennie did an absolute incredible job on our wedding photos and I highly recommend her to anyone! A few things that stood out as to why we loved her work: 1. Her photos are beautiful - we were looking for the bright Colorado colors to shine through and we couldn't be happier. 2. She is easy to work with - fast communication, easy scheduling, and on our wedding day she was everywhere I could ask for to capture things but also blended into the background so she wasn't a distraction. 3. She is a TROOPER! Our engagement shoot was a 4 mile ski/hike up a snowy road (we were on skis, she was in boots) and she never complained, was a joy to hang out with, and the photos turned out great. Jennie was by far our favorite of all the vendors we used and we have photos to cherish for the rest of our lives. Hire her.

Jennie is incredible! We absolutely love our photos - they not only turned out visually beautiful, but truly captured the emotions and tell the story of our wedding day. We have so many favorites, both of us and some really magical candid and emotional moments with friends and family members that are so special to have forever to look through and relive the day. We also cannot say enough wonderful things about working with Jennie, as well as her associate Candace. They truly captured all aspects of the day, got our family photos done in such an efficient manner, and kept a close eye on the lighting conditions so they were able to snag us to get some gorgeous and unexpected sunset photos in! Perhaps even more importantly, they were lovely to spend time with and both made us feel so at ease and not awkward in front of the camera on our wedding day. We are so happy we chose Jennie for our engagement photos and elopement. She helped educate us on the area and when a change was needed for location she went out of her way to help us find a new one.

Jennie captured our wedding day beautifully! My wife and I eloped in Rocky Mountain National Park and Jennie was so helpful throughout the whole process- giving us information about wedding permits, the best ceremony spots, and answering any questions we had. On our wedding day, she did a great job of making us feel comfortable in front of the camera. The pictures turned out great and I would definitely recommend her to anyone, especially in the LGBTQ+ community!

We worked with Jennie for our engagement photos as well as our wedding photos and LOVED how all of our photos turned out! Jennie was kind, engaging, and professional and put us at ease despite our initially feeling unnatural in front of the camera. Jennie didn't put us into contrived poses but gave us fun prompts that resulted in a wide variety of shots that really captured our happiness and love. As a queer couple, it was so lovely to have a photographer who is experienced and dedicated to working with LGBTQ couples. So many aspects of weddings can feel inherently heteronormative, but Jennie made us feel "normal" in the absolute best way possible. She also got great shots of our beloved dog- and took it in stride when he jumped into the water and then shook all over her during our engagement shoot :)

Jennie was absolutely AMAZING! My Fiancée had planned a surprise proposal for me at Rocky Mountain National Park and chose Jennie to be the photographer. Jennie was the sweetest, most easy photographer I have ever worked with. Jennie made me feel super comfortable in front of a camera and provided many prompts to help us pose as well. She hiked all through the snow with us to get the perfect shots for the surprise proposal. She was very personable, easy to talk to, and made the experience feel like no other. Highly recommend Jennie, amazing photographer and cannot wait to plan another session with her!

We were specifically looking for someone who had experience shooting winter weddings. Jennie had a beautiful portfolio from previous winter weddings (and all others!). We hadn’t even met Jennie in person before our wedding day. When we did, she was instantly warm, friendly, and so easy to get along with. She made us feel super comfortable. I think we were both feeling a little silly and nervous to have a camera focus on just the two of us. Jennie made all of that go away! She had great ice-breakers and fun games, so the camera part just melted away. She had a great vision on the end-product and was so dedicated—waist deep in snow for a great shot! I can’t stress enough how much we absolutely adore the entire collection of photos she created. I am just in love with every single one. They each radiate love and fun and feel so natural. We were so lucky to have Jennie capture this day for us!!

Jennie is AMAZING! We decided to work with her for our Labor Day weekend wedding at Boettcher Mansion with high expectations, and she surpassed all of them! We loved that she focuses on capturing the emotion of the day and the relationships between people. We met with her a few times over zoom before the wedding which helped us get to know one another before the big day, and sent us wedding prep tips via email which were much appreciated. She helped us feel comfortable being the center of attention which allowed us to relax while she took spectacular photos. I would recommend her to anyone!

Jennie is amazing. Prior to our wedding day, we only met her once (at our engagement shoot). But on our wedding day, it felt like having a friend behind the camera. She's calm and professional but also warm and friendly. When things were running a little behind, she was flexible. Having an LGBTQ+ photographer was important to us and Jennie definitely made everyone feel welcome and comfortable. We asked for a mix of traditional family/wedding party photos and those spontaneous moments. And wow, did Jennie deliver! She did a wonderful job capturing the day and we can't recommend her highly enough.

Jennie photographed our elopement in April 2022 and she was wonderful! My wife and I tend to be a bit awkward/uncomfortable in front of the camera since we dont like a lot of attention on us. Jennie helped make us feel less awkward lol. She also gave suggestions on locations which was extremely helpful since we came from out of state and didnt know what roads would be closed or what trails we wouldnt have access to since spring in the mountains can be dicey. We loved the location and it was a fun short hike to a beautiful backdrop! We would definitely use her again!

Jennie was one of the first people we hired for our wedding and was hands down one of the best. She is calm cool and collected at all moments of the day and is so focused on capturing the uniqueness and pure joy of your day. We did an engagement shoot with her last winter where I surprised my now-wife by proposing back to her and she helped me make that amazing too! Her photos are truly joyous, show so much love, and all around are the perfect capture of the experience. We were happy to support an LGBTQ owned business and we loved how supportive Jennie is of queer couples and how validated we felt by her in our love story. I honestly cannot say enough amazing, incredible, wonderful things about Jennie and Amelia!!! We worked with Jennie for all of our editing and one of her colleagues, Amelia, did our actual shoot. I had looked at multiple photographers in the area before reaching out to Jennie’s team. I loved her editing style and knew she’d do excellent work for us! I definitely had a vision in mind for my shoot, and when the location I initially wanted didn’t work, Jennie and Amelia worked tirelessly to suggest alternatives so that I could get the engagement shoot of my dreams. It was so so appreciated and felt so above and beyond. I also had specific shots in mind that I catalogued with Pinterest, and they made sure that everything I was looking for was captured. My fiancé was not looking forward to this (taking photos isn’t his favorite), but we felt so comfortable and relaxed doing our shoot. Amelia helped guide us into the right and most flattering poses. We had a ball the actual day of! My final photos are stunning. Jennie crate is seriously the best of the best. She is truly an amazing photographer and an absolutely wonderful human being. She is extremely talented, professional, and so kind. Jennie Crate was an amazing part of our wedding. I found Jennie after seemingly endless scrolling on instagram, looking for someone/anyone who takes colorful photos. In an era when almost all photographers edit their photos to look brown and old, Jennie delivered true-to-color masterpieces. We had our wedding at Denver Botanic Gardens and wanted the flowers, peoples' faces and the overall vibe to come through in the photos. Also, if you're just starting your wedding vendor search, it's important to know that Jennie is also a professional (not all wedding vendors are!!). She is a great communicator, always showed up on time (or early), delivered our photos in a very timely manner, and was incredibly calm during our wedding day. She also respected all of our decisions and didn't push us to do anything that we didn't want to do. Overall, Jennie was the number one wedding vendor we hired and would recommend her to others looking for great work!

My wife and I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Jennie. We were looking for someone who understood that being a same-sex couple, we would want to be in poses together that flattered us both. Jennie was the best! My wife and I hired her for engagement and wedding photos because it was important to us to hire someone LGBTQ+ Friendly and we couldn’t of hoped for a better experience. Jennie has a lot of resources and features same sex couples on her websites/socials. Upon meeting Jennie we instantly felt at ease, relaxed, and like we had been friends with Jennie for a while. She was very helpful throughout the entire process and gave input when needed, but also allowed us to create exactly the day we wanted. She went with the flow, traveled 9 hours to our southern utah wedding, and was very easy and fun to work with. Above all, we came back with AMAZING photos that truly exceeded our expectations.

We hired Jennie and her team for our June micro wedding at the Denver Botanic Gardens and SO glad we did! From start to finish, she was phenomenal! We had contacted a few photographers prior to that, that were either non-responsive or we just felt luke warm about. My mother-in-law found Jennies website and got in touch. When we looked through her portfolio, we knew she was someone we definitely wanted to work with. Jennie was super communicative in the days leading up to the wedding and made us feel so at ease. She's also exceptionally organized so we knew exactly what to expect. It was truly one less worry for us during the stressful planning months. On the day of, we met with her associate photographer Candice, who was an absolute rockstar in every way! She was professional, patient, and just a really kind and funny person. I'm super uncomfortable having my photo taken but Candice put me at total ease. She was a pro at rounding everyone up and was especially great with the young children. I was so thankful to have her there! She truly went above and beyond. When we got the pictures back, OMG, we were just blown away! Candice is an outstanding wedding photographer. I pretty much cried looking through all of the photos they were so good. From the framing, to the composition, light, and attention to detail — even the editing was perfection. Jennie is the BEST photographer to work with! My partner and I recommend Jennie 110%. When we started planning our wedding celebration, we were uncertain about our date, location, and just about everything. We worked with Jennie for our engagement photoshoot at RMNP and had a fantastic experience with her. We were referred to her website from a family friend and her philosophy and style really resonated with us. We are living on opposite sides of the country as we are working to finish our graduate degrees and we met with Jennie over Zoom to chat to get to know each other a bit beforehand. She was so kind to accommodate our tight schedule on our infrequent visits to Colorado and help us plan the photoshoot remotely. We originally found Jennie on Instagram and from there navigated to her website, which was incredibly helpful in getting a feel for who Jennie is and how she works. We were coming to Colorado from out of state so we especially wanted someone who could give suggestions and advice on locations. She has so many great guides and resources to share during the planning process. One of the things we loved most about working with Jennie is how she kept encouraging us to consider what was the most important to the two of us and to continue to refine the plans of our day according to what we wanted our day to feel like. Between her website, her posts on social media, and the other resources she provides, we were able to create a day that was connected and meaningful. She was easy to talk to and consistently responded to any communication in a timely manner. The day of our elopement was relaxed, fun, and filled with so many intimate moments that would have been missing had it not been for the connection we had with Jennie. It's hard to be in front of the camera but Jennie helps with prompts as needed, which ends up being very helpful in some scenarios. She made it so easy to be ourselves and to be adventurous. We had a few little moments that didn't go as we had expected and Jennie didn't even flinch. She just adjusted as necessary and we all enjoyed some good laughs about it later. It felt like hanging out with a friend. Jennie delivered exactly what we were looking for in our wedding day photos. Emotion, adventure, love, joy, surprise. We continually look back on them and reflect on the moments that are captured in those photos. We tell the stories. We laugh, and we cry. We would choose her again and again and we hope you choose her too!

To start, in September 2020 we were supposed to do our engagement shoot at Rocky Mountain Park on a Sunday evening during golden hour. 24 hours before we were set to arrive at the park, our original photographer had to cancel our full contract (including the engagement shoot) due to personal reasons but she was kind enough to suggest Jennie as a potential replacement. Within a day, we were signed up and meeting Jennie in Estes Park for our already scheduled photos. We were so impressed with Jennie's willingness to jump in and meet us so we could shoot our dream engagement photos! From our engagement shoot through the wedding, Jennie was super responsive and eager to connect. She did a wonderful job leading up to the wedding answering our questions/preparing and then day of did an incredible job as well. Jennie and her assistant Ashley made us feel comfortable and excited throughout the day while also giving us precious space to reflect and take in alllll the moments in an organic way. We also are BIG dancers and prioritized having photos taken while on the dance floor. These did NOT disappoint. We love our wedding photos and will cherish them forever. Thank you, Jennie!

I started following Jennie on social media when I was blown away by her photography at my friend’s wedding (and the way she seamlessly integrated into the wedding to capture so many lovely moments). Two years ago, my now wife and I jumped at the possibility to “model” for her in a styled shoot at the dry lake beds in Las Vegas, and we were absolutely thrilled with the results! She was wonderful to work with and the pictures were gorgeous, so when it came time for us to choose a photographer for our wedding, the choice was clear. My wife and I planned an elopement/ micro-wedding in Kauai, Hawaii for Dec. 2020 (hoping beyond hope that COVID would be “under control”) and Jennie was 100% all in! She reached out to her photographer connections in Kauai, finding us a recommended LGBTQ officiant and helping us to craft a timeline that would allow us to have a small ceremony followed by exploring a section of coastline for photography at the perfect time of day (she even gave input on my google doc of locations & logistics)! Fast forward to a week before we were all supposed to leave for Kauai, and we were stopped in our tracks by a reinstated mandatory 14- day quarantine that effectively canceled our Hawaiian elopement!!! Jennie was immediately on the phone with us to regroup and figure out how she could help us to reimagine our big day (including the possibility of postponing it). We decided to keep our date and shift locations to a state park just outside of my hometown of Las Vegas (Valley of Fire), and Jennie once again was all in! Replanning a wedding within a week was quite the adventure, and Jennie was at the ready every step of the way. We each did our own research on locations in the park and regrouped with favorite spots and possibilities. Jennie made the long drive from CO and spent the day before our wedding hiking & scouting the perfect locations for photographs (and using her photographer prowess to plan a photo trek that would allow us the best light at each landscape feature). She also coordinated with our elopement company to make sure everything was handled, leaving us to simply enjoy the day. WEDDING DAY: Jennie was (as always) amazing! She captured beautiful moments during the ceremony, without our even realizing she was there! After the ceremony, we hiked with Jennie, laughing and enjoying two hours of dedicated photography. It was an absolutely magical day, and the photos speak for themselves. Jennie is the best, and we cannot recommend her highly enough.

She was so easy to work with and we loved how she was able to capture our authentic selves. She was so kind and even stayed a little longer to capture more photos of our epic day together. When our photos came we couldn't help but cry with joy on how beautiful they turned out and more importantly how we could see that she took the time to really get our personalities in each photo. Jennie is the absolute best and was incredibly professional!!! I’m not sure we can say enough wonderful things about her to adequately do justice to how integral she was in our wedding! She was absolutely wonderful as our wedding photographer, and we were so lucky to have found her. My wife and I, as an LGBTQ couple who are both introverted, were extremely worried about finding a photographer who made us feel comfortable, but who was also LGBTQ friendly. We searched A LOT of places on the web, trying to find recommendations from outdated LGBTQ wedding sites for Colorado, that had broken links or few photographer options. We ended up finding Jennie through one of her blog posts about intimate, Colorado wedding venues, and we absolutely fell in love with her photography style. We also loved that she had so many great recommendations about vendors and helpful posts about wedding planning in general. Her blog post is how we ended up finding our dream wedding venue, Deer Creek Valley Ranch. They had not even been on our radar, until we read her blog, and we ended up touring there and falling in love with it immediately. I think though our favorite thing about Jennie, though, is how comfortable she made us feel in front of the camera. We had know idea what to expect or even if we would feel so awkward that we wouldn’t get any good facial expressions. With Jennie, it didn’t even matter! She not only made us feel comfortable and guided or directed us when needed, but she managed to find all these magic shots of emotion, laughter, and spontaneity that we didn’t even realize had happened from both our engagement session and our wedding. We absolutely LOVE all of our photos from both our engagement session and our wedding. They really capture all the emotions we felt, and just take us back to each special moment from that day. Jennie was worth every cent, and we were so lucky to have her as our wedding photographer!

Our wedding planner recommended her, and we are so grateful she did! Jennie was fantastic - we hired her for a full fall wedding but ended up switching to an intimate summer elopement due to COVID. Jennie was the one who suggested and gave her opinion about possible venues where we'd get the best photos. She saved the day! The photos were FANTASTIC and she was wonderful to work with. Jennie is absolutely one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. I've known her personally since we worked together 5 years ago and I couldn't wait to book her for my wedding. Personality -> An extremely kind and friendly professional, Jennie will literally climb a mountain or tree to get the best angle for a picture of you. She is a dedicated person who is an absolute delight to interact with. Responsive and thorough, she is an ideal vendor. Pricing -> Jennie has levels of pricing that can accommodate anyone. We had originally booked her longest package for 10 hours of shots and an assistant. The wedding was thrown off by COVID-19 and she was extremely flexible and thoughtful in letting us switch to a new 3 hour schedule. She charged us no fee and sent us a new contract right away. Her flexibility saved us tons of stress during a very difficult time. We wanted her there no matter what! Quality -> During the ceremony, I (the bride) broke out into serious hives that were clearly visible from my neck and down my arms. I was devastated that all the photos would clearly show my stress from the day. Not on Jennie's watch! She spent WEEKS meticulously taking off every hive from those photos and making me seem flawless that day. I couldn't believe it and cried with relief when we got the photos. All the photos were so flattering and had gorgeous lighting. Her photo cues and set ups are fantastic. She truly celebrates all kinds of love and is an open and loving individual. I wish I could thank her more for the beautiful memories she gave us. With her, we forgot about the change wedding, the pandemic, and the logistical issues of the day and she didn't need to tell us to smile big (we felt it already)! Thank you, Jennie - we adore you!

I was thoroughly impressed with Jennie and her work. She was professional and kind. I am a huge believer in communication, especially on such a big day. She was prompt in responding to all my questions and always helped provide resources, if needed, to provide an answer. The day of the wedding, she arrived and provided photographs that I am so excited to have to remember our special day! Her photos were spot on! She captured our love, laughter and so much more. She had a fun and unique way to make us feel comfortable taking the photographs as we did not do our engagement photos with her. The only thing I would recommend is purchasing the whole photography package with Jennie(engagement/wedding/etc). My husband and I had a great time with her, but wish we would have had more time with her (engagement photos), BUT I want to say this had nothing to do with her whatsoever, but rather a suggestion to future clients as Jennie is AMAZING and her photography is ABSOLUTELY STUNNING! I want to get MARRIED AGAIN so I can hire her!

Literally the best decision we made while wedding planning was hiring Jennie Crate to photograph our wedding and do engagement pictures. She is absolutely amazing, both as a photographer and a person! My now-husband and I were both super nervous to get our pictures taken - we were worried we would be awkward and too posed. When planning our wedding, the one thing my wife(!) and I really wanted to get right was picking a photographer that made us feel comfortable and could capture the spirit of such an important day. Jennie did all of this and more - she was absolutely spectacular. From closer, more intimate portraits to sprawling landscapes to candid moments with friends and family, Jennie's photos of our wedding will be something that we'll treasure for the rest of our lives. She was an expert at making us feel comfortable during couples portraits, and was somehow able to capture some really beautiful and interesting angles of our ceremony and reception while hardly being noticed. To top it off, Jennie was super friendly and fun to talk to throughout the whole process - we will be recommending her to anyone who will listen!

Jennie was great! She captured our ceremony beautifully and we didn't even notice she was there. She was great with dealing with our families for family photos after the ceremony. She also did a good job of helping us pose in order to look more natural in photos, rather than looking stiff and uncomfortable. We aren't very good at taking professional pictures, so we really appreciated her helping us to look more natural. The best part of all, is that the photos turned out amazing. The way she captured the colors and the background were wonderful. You can tell she is a truly talented photographer. We just got the pictures back last week and have already gotten so many compliments on how amazing the photos turned out.

Jennie photographed our California wedding this past June and we could not be happier. Jennie and I met at the Lovesick Expo and just by sifting through her photos and speaking with her, I knew she had a wonderful and artistic outlook and eye, and I knew when I started comparing other photographers I was looking into to her she was our girl. I was totally sold after our engagement shoot, which had to be postponed due to my surgery. The photos came out beautifully, and looked like they could have come out of any wedding magazine or blog out there. She effortlessly captured our personalities and our love for each other. My groom looked so handsome (and he can tend to look goofy in photos, as men often do), and I felt stunning even though I was only 6 weeks out of shoulder surgery and could barely lift my arm. Jennie also helped me find other vendors when I was striking out on my own, including my videographer and hair stylist! Day of the wedding, she and her assistant captured every moment of our wedding, from getting ready, to portraits, to the ceremony, to the reception, and especially little details and special moments I didn't really notice until looking through her photos. She's absolutely magical with her camera, as is the team of assistant photographers she entrusts! I couldn't recommend Jennie more highly, and know she'll take amazing care of you throughout your entire wedding process. She's a gem and has such an incredible spirit, it's effortless to feel at ease around her and I wholeheartedly give her my accolades and deepest gratitude for capturing our engagement, rehearsal, and wedding day so magically.
