Jim was amazing to work with from beginning to end. He was very communicative throughout the planning process and guided us along the way. We hired Kate, the pianist, to play the p...
iano during our ceremony and she was absolutely amazing. During the reception, our guests were on the dance floor all night and many guests told us how amazing Hoi Polloi was and asking for their information. We are already checking out their website to see when and where they will be performing next!
Hoi Polloi - 10/10 having a band was super important to us. Hoi Polloi was everything we could have hoped for and more! They played all the music we asked for and were great to wor...
k with from the start. We booked them for our ceremony, our cocktail hour, and had 11 people with horns and a DJ. They were fantastic to work with and we loved working with them. Jim is super responsive which makes a difference. He made sure the band knew all the music we wanted to play and they even interacted with guests (which I loved). They are also VERY reasonably priced and should probably charge more! They were great. I think the biggest compliment is that people from all ages kept saying they loved them which was perfect to me. They opened with Runaround Sue which is one of the best wedding songs in the world. Everyone got on the dance floor once that song came on and they didn’t leave.
Hoi Polloi was incredible! I absolutely recommend them for your wedding. They worked with us and made our night absolutely perfect, memorable, and set the entire mood/ambiance. We ...
had a smaller wedding venue location, so they worked with us when we realized we wouldn't be able to fit the large band. I hope to be able to use the large band in the future as well. All our guests thought they were wonderful too! 5 stars!
My husband and I would absolutely recommend Hoi Polloi, look no further! The best band! They are a group of compassionate people who not only have an amazing energy but know how to...
share that energy so everyone has the best time! We are grateful to have been recommended this band.
When we started our wedding planning we knew that we wanted a band at our event but did not know where to start. I asked a few friends and Hoi Polloi came HIGHLY recommended. From ...
my first email to Jim I soon found out why. Jim and the band have been nothing but the BEST. We could not have asked for a better interaction. We went to see them play at The Laundromat in Morristown and had such a wonderful time. Jim and all of the band members were so fun to be around, interacted with all the guests there and made it such a great experience which is EXACTLY what we were looking for in a band. Not only is their music OUTSTANDING, the correspondence with Jim have always been top notch. He really truly cares and goes out of his way. We knew we found the perfect band and then the venue search was on. Jim even helped recommend venues and other vendors to make our wedding planning experience that much better. When covid came I reached out to him with some anxiety as I heard from friends that some vendors were not returning deposits or were requiring second deposits. This was not the case for Hoi Polloi. Jim has been so helpful and made the rescheduling process a breeze. His willingness to transfer the deposit and ease of rescheduling took all my anxiety away. If you are looking for a band to make your wedding night or event memorable for all guests these are your guys. As my husband says, "We couldn' have asked for anything better."
Hoi Polloi was the first vendor I booked after getting engaged last summer. We didn’t even have our venue or date yet but I knew that I needed Jim and the band to play my wedding a...
fter hearing them at my friends’ wedding a few years earlier. Wedding planning is stressful, but working with Jim hasn’t been. Our communications have been easy, comfortable and entertaining. He is so personable and kind and truly knows the ins and outs of weddings. He has been especially accommodating for us as we have had to postpone our wedding due to Covid. The band made sure they were available on our date and the transition was seamless and really helped with the stress and uncertainty while planning amidst a pandemic. I truly cannot wait until next summer and look forward to celebrating with Hoi Polloi!
After hearing Hoi Polloi play at my Godson’s wedding I booked them to play for my daughter’s May 2, 2020 wedding reception. Due to the pandemic the reception was postponed. Jim ...
Albrecht, my contact with Hoi Polloi, was easy to reach and understanding of my situation. It was easy to rebook for our new reception date.
I can’t wait to dance to the music this band performs.
Hoi Poloi was a recommended band through our venue. We went to see them perform (awesome), and chat with them (really friendly and willing to be super accommodating with song choic...
es etc). It was easy to contact them afterward to book our date. They were quick to respond, and have been excellent with communication about the upcoming wedding, must plays, absolute do not plays etc. We were set to get married this October 31 (2020) - then, well, 2020 =(
As soon as we realized this would not be the wedding we had planned for, we decided to rescheduled the date. Jim could not have been more understanding and accommodating when we contacted him about this and with making the change ... We can't wait until we can have the celebration we dreamed of next year with Hoi Poloi leading the celebration!
Hoi Polloi did such an amazing job at our wedding. We had lead singer/keyboard player Jim Reeves play solo piano during cocktail hour and it was beautiful. During the reception the...
band had everyone out dancing within minutes. We gave the band free reign to play whatever they wanted, and they could not have done a better job. It was hit after hit that kept people singing and dancing all night. I still have people coming up to me today telling me that this was one of the best weddings they have ever been to, thanks to Jersey’s Own Hoi Polloi. I would recommend them to anyone 1000 times over.
JIm was fantastic to work with and communicate with throughout the entire process. He invited us to a show to watch Hoi Polloi prior to booking. The entire band kept the night runn...
ing smoothly and kept the dance floor packed. We were lucky enough to have Jim & Jim sing at the cocktail hour, and then rock our reception. Highly recommend this band - you wont regret it! Guests continue to talk about how wonderful the band was.
I cannot say enough good things about Hoi Polloi; I wish I could give more than 5 stars. From the very beginning Jim was extremely responsive and returned my emails within hours an...
d even while on a business trip. The band was extremely flexible as we had to change wedding dates and then 2 days before the wedding we found out we needed a microphone for our ceremony which we weren't expecting. Hoi Polloi to the rescue! They all showed up much earlier than they were originally hired for and set up the ceremony site. I had zero stress because I knew Jim and his crew had everything handled. Hoi Polloi has hundreds of songs in their library and yet my husband and I chose 2 songs they didn't know for our mother/son dance and father/daughter dance and yet again Hoi Polloi came through and learned these songs for us!!!! Unbelievable!! It's been almost a week now and I am still getting texts and phone calls from people asking for their information and telling me it was the best wedding entertainment they've ever seen. The venues bartender who works weddings year round thanked me for hiring them because he loved the music and appreciated a very talented band. Our guests were up on the dance floor the entire time and didn't want it to end. Hoi Polloi is top notch and I recommend them 1000%!! I cannot wait to visit them at their future public gigs.
Amazing experience! The time and attention I was given went above and beyond.
Jim (and the entire band) was INCREDIBLE to work with. He was so responsive and took the time to really understand the types of music we would want played at our wedding. And the b...
and even took the time to learn a bit of an odd song for my husband and my first dance. They really rocked and we continue to get SO many compliments and questions about our awesome wedding band. Their prices were very reasonable AND they were SUPER accommodating as questions/things came up as the date got closer. Thank you, Jim and all of Hoi Polloi! You guys are the best! :)
Hoi Polloi was AMAZING. Planning a wedding is not the easiest thing but Jim (my main contact with the band) and Hoi Polloi made the music planning a cinch. Jim made the entire proc...
ess from start to finish so easy and stress-free. I continually knew we were on the same page during the whole planning process. His response times were great, they could not have been accommodating and most importantly they kept the dance floor packed the whole night. So many guests commented on how great the band was and how they made the wedding that much more fun.
I would highly recommend working with Jim and Hoi Polloi!
Not only did they play practically the whole night without breaks, but they are the most professional and personable people you would ever hope to meet. Jim Albrecht and Jim Reeber...
are the heart and soul of the band, but they are all talented. Everyone danced and raved about them all night. We had the pleasure of getting up and performing with them. Truly a pleasure!
Everyone has such a great time ! The band from the beginning was very professional. Not only did they perform great music they help plan the whole flow of the reception and kept t...
hings running smoothly. They even learned our song on short notice!
We had a diverse group at the wedding and they kept everyone young and old dancing.
They were also friendly and outgoing and felt like they were friends by the end of the night !!
It's been a month since our wedding at Mayfair Farms and I am STILL hearing rave reviews of Hoi Polloi. That's no surprise - the entire group absolutely killed it on stage! The dan...
ce floor was full the whole night and they played the perfect blend of new and older music to appeal to everyone at the wedding. Hoi Polloi played my brother's wedding 7 years ago and others that I have attended so I certainly knew they would be awesome (as they always are) - but they went above and beyond and blew me away! Jim was so helpful and supportive in the planning process, answering all of my questions, making lots of suggestions and generally being wonderful to work with in every way. If you're looking for a band that will get your guests on the dance floor rocking and rolling all night, look no further than Jersey's Own Hoi Polloi!
Hoi Polloi played at our wedding on August 1, 2015. They were absolutely amazing! We were in contact with Jim for months planning and making sure everything was perfect for our spe...
cial night. He responded right away every time we contacted him and gave us wonderful suggestions and recommendations. All of our guests raved about how they were the best wedding band they have ever heard! Guests of all ages were up dancing the ENTIRE night! We highly recommend them! They were so much better than a DJ and made our night so personal. We love you Hoi Polloi! :)
WOW! Hoi Polloi was the true star of our wedding. The 7-piece band had the entire room up and dancing from the first minute until the last. And they sounded spectacular!!! Every...
single guest told us how amazing they were, and we couldn't agree more.
Jim, the band "leader", was such a pleasure to work with. He provided us with a spreadsheet of hundreds of songs that they play, and let us pick the ones we wanted. It was perfect - we knew our guests well, and they loved every song.
Their music ranged from Frankie Valli (our first dance) to Beyonce, and everything in between. And we could tell that they were having just as much fun as our guests, which added to the joy.
We also used Hoi Polloi (guitar and flute) for our ceremony, which worked out perfectly. They sounded absolutely beautiful.
We happily recommend Hoi Polloi for everyone's wedding and event!!!
I don't even know where to begin! If you are looking to have a wedding where all your guests are dancing the entire night...you can not go wrong with Hoi Polloi. I can not even co...
unt how many times someone came up to me at the wedding or days after saying how much the loved the band and "I never dance at weddings but I danced the whole night and yours!" Someone even asked me if I had the setlist! Jim Albrecht was so wonderful to work with during the planning phase, I feel like he is a friend of mine! He is very organized and so easy going. He always made time for me to talk on the phone and responded to my emails right away.
I also had Sue from the band perform the ceremony music. She was wonderful and very helpful with song suggestions as I was having a difficult time deciding.
The whole band was just fantastic. So entertaining and fun!!! We all danced the whole night. They were also a great help throughout the night with organizing all the bridal party together for the introductions, etc.
Multiple friends and family told me that our wedding was "the best wedding they have ever been too" I would have to give Hoi Polloi the credit for making the night so fun!!
This band ROCKED our wedding just like we asked them to do! All of our friends and family did not leave the dance floor. They are one amazing band and if you're looking for a top n...
otch crew with amazing talent, easy quick communication to get everything planned for your big day HOI POLLOI is who you should choose!! We had an awesome night thanks to these guys!!

I planned my wedding from out of state and booked with this band without even hearing them. I knew from the reviews that they would be great and their communication with me was th...
e best. They answered all questions and really helped frame my day schedule for me.
When our wedding day came, I called them last minute to see if they could bring additional equipment for my grandfather to use during our ceremony. They helped us out when we were in a pickle!
I couldn't wait to hear them, and when I did I was blown away. I truly could not have asked for anything more. They played the songs we wanted, learned songs they didn't already know, and put on a stellar performance that had me and the rest of the wedding dancing all night.
I honestly can't wait to move back to the east coast to have a party where I can book them. I've never danced so much in my life.
Thank you Jim and Hoi Polloi for making our wedding spectacular. You were worth all the money and more! I can't recommend you enough!
They were an incredible band! We told them the kind of atmosphere we wanted to create (fun), and they did it. They let us choose all of the songs (from their website), and they s...
upplemented with some of their own choices. They even learned Elton John's 'You'll Be Blessed' for the bride/father, groom/mother dance. They played almost the ENTIRE time, with only one short break I can remember. Even then, when we begged them to come back on stage they did. People were dancing the entire time! WE LOVED THEM.
