Hundreds of successful wedding receptions behind us, we know just how to bring the fun to yours. Flexible and available in a number of configurations and band size, to meet all tastes and budgets. We offer superior planning services, we are not the type of vendor you cannot seem to reach after the deposit is received. We will assist in any way you ask, regarding song selection, order of events, partnering with your own wedding planner or Matri Di, and we'll be happy to learn any material that is important to your big day. Our pricing is very attractive when compared to the market rates, and we have a network of other professionals should you want strings for your ceremony, or specialty act for cocktail hour. Full digital state of the art PA and stage lighting, two high quality wireless microphones, are standard for any wedding reception.

k with from the start. We booked them for our ceremony, our cocktail hour, and had 11 people with horns and a DJ. They were fantastic to work with and we loved working with them. Jim is super responsive which makes a difference. He made sure the band knew all the music we wanted to play and they even interacted with guests (which I loved).They are also VERY reasonably priced and should probably charge more! They were great. I think the biggest compliment is that people from all ages kept saying they loved them which was perfect to me. They opened with Runaround Sue which is one of the best wedding songs in the world. Everyone got on the dance floor once that song came on and they didn’t leave.

my first email to Jim I soon found out why. Jim and the band have been nothing but the BEST. We could not have asked for a better interaction. We went to see them play at The Laundromat in Morristown and had such a wonderful time. Jim and all of the band members were so fun to be around, interacted with all the guests there and made it such a great experience which is EXACTLY what we were looking for in a band. Not only is their music OUTSTANDING, the correspondence with Jim have always been top notch. He really truly cares and goes out of his way. We knew we found the perfect band and then the venue search was on. Jim even helped recommend venues and other vendors to make our wedding planning experience that much better. When covid came I reached out to him with some anxiety as I heard from friends that some vendors were not returning deposits or were requiring second deposits. This was not the case for Hoi Polloi. Jim has been so helpful and made the rescheduling process a breeze. His willingness to transfer the deposit and ease of rescheduling took all my anxiety away. If you are looking for a band to make your wedding night or event memorable for all guests these are your guys. As my husband says, "We couldn' have asked for anything better."

fter hearing them at my friends’ wedding a few years earlier. Wedding planning is stressful, but working with Jim hasn’t been. Our communications have been easy, comfortable and entertaining. He is so personable and kind and truly knows the ins and outs of weddings. He has been especially accommodating for us as we have had to postpone our wedding due to Covid. The band made sure they were available on our date and the transition was seamless and really helped with the stress and uncertainty while planning amidst a pandemic. I truly cannot wait until next summer and look forward to celebrating with Hoi Polloi!

As soon as we realized this would not be the wedding we had planned for, we decided to rescheduled the date. Jim could not have been more understanding and accommodating when we contacted him about this and with making the change ... It was hit after hit that kept people singing and dancing all night. I still have people coming up to me today telling me that this was one of the best weddings they have ever been to, thanks to Jersey’s Own Hoi Polloi. The band was extremely flexible as we had to change wedding dates and then 2 days before the wedding we found out we needed a microphone for our ceremony which we weren't expecting. Hoi Polloi to the rescue! They all showed up much earlier than they were originally hired for and set up the ceremony site. I had zero stress because I knew Jim and his crew had everything handled. Hoi Polloi has hundreds of songs in their library and yet my husband and I chose 2 songs they didn't know for our mother/son dance and father/daughter dance and yet again Hoi Polloi came through and learned these songs for us!!!! Unbelievable!! It's been almost a week now and I am still getting texts and phone calls from people asking for their information and telling me it was the best wedding entertainment they've ever seen. The venues bartender who works weddings year round thanked me for hiring them because he loved the music and appreciated a very talented band. Our guests were up on the dance floor the entire time and didn't want it to end. Hoi Polloi is top notch and I recommend them 1000%!! I cannot wait to visit them at their future public gigs.

Jim, the band "leader", was such a pleasure to work with. He provided us with a spreadsheet of hundreds of songs that they play, and let us pick the ones we wanted. It was perfect - we knew our guests well, and they loved every song.
Their music ranged from Frankie Valli (our first dance) to Beyonce, and everything in between. And we could tell that they were having just as much fun as our guests, which added to the joy.
We also used Hoi Polloi (guitar and flute) for our ceremony, which worked out perfectly. They sounded absolutely beautiful.

unt how many times someone came up to me at the wedding or days after saying how much the loved the band and "I never dance at weddings but I danced the whole night and yours!" Someone even asked me if I had the setlist! Jim Albrecht was so wonderful to work with during the planning phase, I feel like he is a friend of mine! He is very organized and so easy going. He always made time for me to talk on the phone and responded to my emails right away.
I also had Sue from the band perform the ceremony music. She was wonderful and very helpful with song suggestions as I was having a difficult time deciding.
The whole band was just fantastic. So entertaining and fun!!! We all danced the whole night. They were also a great help throughout the night with organizing all the bridal party together for the introductions, etc.
Multiple friends and family told me that our wedding was "the best wedding they have ever been too" I would have to give Hoi Polloi the credit for making the night so fun!!

When our wedding day came, I called them last minute to see if they could bring additional equipment for my grandfather to use during our ceremony. They helped us out when we were in a pickle!
I couldn't wait to hear them, and when I did I was blown away. I truly could not have asked for anything more. They played the songs we wanted, learned songs they didn't already know, and put on a stellar performance that had me and the rest of the wedding dancing all night.
I honestly can't wait to move back to the east coast to have a party where I can book them. I've never danced so much in my life.

They played almost the ENTIRE time, with only one short break I can remember. Even then, when we begged them to come back on stage they did. People were dancing the entire time! WE LOVED THEM.
