Jess did a great job of capturing our elopement. She was very responsive whenever I had questions, and she was willing to work within our budget. Not only that, she rearranged a prior trip she scheduled to accommodate our wedding date. Her more documentary-style approach appealed to both my husband and me, and we were pleased to have a mix of beautiful candid moments and portraits. I would definitely recommend hiring Jess!

As soon as I saw Jess' portfolio, I knew immediately that I wanted her as our wedding photographer. Her style was perfectly compatible with what we wanted for our wedding - natural yet still very cool and casual. She was enthusiastic, professional and incredibly down to earth making her a huge pleasure to work with throughout the entire process. Everything felt so easy and seamless which is the most you can ask for from a wedding vendor. She captured all of the heart warming moments between our family and friends while still paying attention to all of the beautiful details of our venue. The final photo album was absolutely stunning and arrived on time! 4 months later I'm still looking at all of the photos. I can't recommend Jess enough!

Having Jess photograph our wedding was one the best decisions we made. I reached out to over 20 photographers, and Jess immediately stood out from the crowd. She was willing to work with my budget and schedule, she easily answered by many questions (what gear do you use? will you have a second shooter? do you have a backup plan? etc.) and she made be feel immediately at ease and confident in her work. Jess over-delivered on the number of photos she promised and stayed longer than planned to capture all the special moments at our wedding. She also sent us all the pictures within weeks of our wedding, which was incredible, especially considering many of my friends waited over three months to get theirs from other photographers. When we were running short on time on our wedding day, Jess and her second shooter did an incredible job taking the reins wrangling family members and getting all of our requested photos, something I so appreciated. We also got so many beautiful pictures of dog from our wedding! Jess has a pup of her own and knew how important capturing sweet moments with our 11-year-old Labrador was to us. When I first got my photos back from Jess, I cried so many happy tears. If I had to do it all again, I would, without hesitation, book Jess again.

There are not enough words to explain the experience we had with Jess… She was truly the most professional, reliable, organized, fun and beautiful soul throughout the entire wedding from engagement shoot to even a few days after the wedding. We were amazed when we viewed our gallery of photos. She was incredibly knowledgable about her craft and well versed in many styles of photography. Jess was also very flexible and made an entire year of planning seamless. She handled everything with so much efficiency and grace. My eyes well-up with tears thinking about how calm she kept us when we were nervous, how prompt she was if I had a question and made me feel like a priority, how I felt like here I am on my wedding day with a close friend and not just someone I am working with. Even our vendors went out of their way to contact us and say what a joy Jess and her assistant were. She wow’d us in every way possible and displayed all qualities one would look for when looking for a wedding photographer. Jess captured our day exactly how we remember it and we could not be more thankful.

Jess Rankin was wonderful! She was super organized and professional from the moment I contacted her until 2 days after my wedding when I received my first round of proofs! I work in the photo industry and I am picky. Jess exceeded my expectations. She captured all of the moments I requested and more I hadn’t even considered. She was open to suggestions and great with all of the wedding party and guests. Most importantly- the photos she took were AMAZING! She took all of the traditional ones I needed for posterity, but lots of candid, natural shots that really captured the feeling of the day. I would give her six stars if I could!

Jess was amazing to work with. She was very professional and detail oriented. She was available when ever we needed to talk and was very friendly. Post wedding she has been accommodating to our request on photos and has responded in a timely manner. Jess and her assistant were total pros - very prepared, patient and calm. It really was fun to have them around on our wedding day. And of course, the photos turned out great. Book her while you can - I'm sure her calendar is only going to get busier in the coming years.

Jess did an amazing job capturing our wedding as well as making it stress free. She was able to capture everything i wanted and more. She meet us at the hotel for getting ready photos, she managed both of our large families to get all the right photos and made me and my husband feel super comfortable and care free all day. Jess Rankin was the perfect photographer for our recent Napa wedding. She is genuine, down to earth, fun to be around, easy to work with, and INCREDIBLY talented. I knew I didn't want saccharine sweet, white washed wedding photos and am so happy to have found a photographer with a bolder style. Jess knew we wanted to keep things on the less traditional side, and not only did she roll with the punches, but she even contributed ideas that made our celebration so much more meaningful. She encouraged us to do an alternative engagement shoot and included our beloved motorcycle to keep it very "us" - her images from that day are magic and I can't believe I didn't want an engagement shoot to start with! As for our wedding photos, they are more beautiful than I ever could have imagined. Jess couldn't have captured our day more perfectly but it's not her extreme gift behind the lens that makes her the best. What sets Jess apart is who she is as a person. She is kind, generous, dependable, organized, and has the sweetest heart. What other photographer comes to your house to help sand and stain signs the week before your wedding?Jess Rankin is someone you want standing in your corner on your wedding day, especially since all of her photos are gold.

We were soo lucky to find Jess after googling "Northern California Elopement Photographer" and once I saw her work online, I said a little prayer she would have our date open and she did! Her photos capture emotion unlike any other I've seen. She is so easy to work with and makes you feel super comfortable. The photos turned out better than I could have imagined and she got them back to us pretty quick! You will love her!

A photographer friend referred Jess to us. She was such a pleasure to work with. Really worked with us in regards to our expectations as well. She shot pictures for both our small wedding ceremony with family and later the surprise party with friends. No complaints. We will definitely use her again for future events!!
