be friends with, it was easy to talk through everything and convey a sense of what we wanted. Jesse has a knack for capturing moments and the people in those moments at their best. We were really impressed and touched with how many beautiful shots he got of our guests. There are very few posed or stagnant images in the lot --- he captured the energy and most importantly the movement of the evening perfectly. Our wedding was somewhat atypical, and Jesse rose to the challenge beautifully. We had three components in three locations (the middle being a parade from ceremony to reception), and a fourth location for family photos, with no pause to regroup in between. Furthermore, the reception was held in a house with many rooms, and all of them were used at all times. Somehow Jesse managed to negotiate all these spaces effortlessly, and give the impression of being everywhere at all times. It never felt awkward having him around any moment at the wedding; he expertly blended in to the event and managed to get as many key shots as possible. I honestly didn't even notice him around most of the time, and was surprised to see what he captured after the fact--didn't remember him being in certain places at certain times (which is good!) We hired him for an extra hour beyond the package deal, and we're glad we did! Allowed us the flexibility to shoot family photos and enjoy mingling with guests in the park where our ceremony was held without rushing. A rec: even if you talk through the flow of the wedding in advance, I would recommend having a shot list, no matter who you work with. It's good to make a few notes about people people or moments definitely want on camera. And the 4 on responsiveness is only because Jesse doesn't immediately respond to emails, which being a New Yorker, I expect. :0)

best days of mine and my husband's life. When I was nervous before I walked down the [long!] aisle from our reception hall to the outdoor arch where the ceremony was, Jesse cracked jokes and helped me to relax and feel comfortable by making me laugh. He and his assistant went above and beyond and found a window that led to the roof of the reception hall. He called everyone outside and took a group shot from the roof! He took all the group photos we requested as well as some fun and innovative duet shots with my husband and I. Jesse had a vision for a shot in a woodsy part of the land with rocks everywhere and he and my husband held my hands so I wouldn't fall with my little heels and dress. I'm thankful for the vision because the shots turned out great. Jesse has a real eye for photography. The lighting was creative and artful. My husband and I have utilized Jesse's services for our businesses as far as head shots and retain him as our family photographer. I highly recommend Jesse Banks, III for all your photography needs to capture the special moments in yours and your family's lives.

and and me, together, a couple weeks later and we were laughing through the meeting, too. The reason that I bring up this friendship in my review is that our ease, trust, and comfort with Jesse is obvious in the photos. The candid photos are warm and, well, candid, but I was most impressed with how Jesse set up the First Look and more formal shots of my husband and me. (I like photos but my husband and I are admittedly awkward when we're asked to pose. Because Jesse was already a friend, doing just that felt like playtime. In our photos, our smiles are authentic and wide.) Another detail that made me choose Jesse is that he is EXCELLENT at taking pictures of people of diverse colors -- literally. I am Filipino and my husband is white, and, in almost every photo taken of us at others' weddings, I look orange and he looks paler than usual. If I am surrounded by lighter-skinned friends and family, my face is often so dark, I can't see it. Our families and friends cover all skin tones on the spectrum and we wanted them visible and true-to-shade in photos. I could not be happier with the pictures Jesse took. HIRE HIM!

It's easy to feel comfortable with Jesse, he maintains a high level of professionalism without being uptight or unrelatable. For our wedding we chose to hire Jesse for both photography and photo lounge service. It was a good process from start to finish. Leading up to the big day we had an open line of communication for any questions or ideas either of us had. That helped ease my mind, I could tell that he was someone I could trust with such a big part of our wedding. He and his team got a lot of great shots without being intrusive during all parts of the day: getting ready, ceremony, and reception. His ideas for the formal shots were creative and nothing felt too posed or uncomfortable. It was clear he had done his research at the venue and had established a relationship with the on site event coordinator. The photo lounge was one of my favorite parts of the night! It was a lot of fun at the time and we have a lot of photos of friends and family having a great time as a result. Our photos were delivered on a disc within the time frame as promised.

b getting the shots we discussed beforehand, and dealing with the fact that I did a horrific job organizing. There was not enough time for getting ready, or taking group shots, and the site coordinator kept telling him we needed to move, but he stayed relaxed and focused. There were a few photos where some better posing would have been desired, but I say that as advice to those planning to allow more time and have a better plan. He had great ideas for shots, and I wish I had him stay an extra hour or two!
